This was a good hotel. In and out is literally across the street and it’s within walking distance to the beach. The bathroom could use a better fan for taking showers but that was minor.

Poor customer service, We arrived on Friday.The hotel was full. The TV did not work in our room, they only had 1 person on staff, that did not know how to fix it, they claimed no one would be available until Monday. But Monday came and no one rver showed up or called, the girl at the counter offered to refund my deposit, but I would have to call Expedia to see if I could get a refund. I had no choice but to stay, since we did not have enough $ to pay for another hotel. But we will never go back to this hotel again, I wish Expedia had a phone # that we could speak to a life person.

Make sure to bring I..D for your entire family anyone over 18 must have Id or not allowed to check in. I believe it's due to the homeless population & hotel vandalism in the area. This is a 2 star hotel. The price is fair but there are no amenities, no pool, no patio, no view, ok room to sleep & shower only. Close to In & Out Burger.

The hotel room was spacious and clean. I appreciate the front desk staff for being so nice and the fact the hotel was close to the beach.

I didn’t like the fact that I had to pay a cash deposit for the hotel by finding an ATM since the hotel’s ATM was broken. It would have been nice if management had mentioned the cash deposit prior to booking.

I wish there was a substantial breakfast and a gym (which was mentioned in the listing for Hotels.com). I’m a very big fan of transparency, which I wish that management would be more proactive with.

It was nice and clean, both staff members we spoke with were friendly.
It was super convenient - a 2 minute walk to Starbucks; a 2-minute walk to In-N-Out, a 5-minute walk to Angelo's.
The room was clean and pretty spacious, same with the bathroom.
It was infinitely better than where we had spent the previous night.

Cons:
Water pressure not great.
I wish there had been a movable shower handle instead of just a shower head.
No breakfast.

-If you download the circuit app you can get picked up and dropped off anywhere in oceanside for $3bucks so that was cool and fun

Negatives-
-Lots of construction nearby and homeless people just be alert
-Need cash for the deposit and they didn't have a working ATM so I had to go out and find an atm
-Also need cash to buy any of their snacks and beverages so it would be nice if they offered other methods of payment

It was clean enough. One of our rooms smelled like urine. A/C worked well. Mini fridge and microwave were good. It would have been very helpful if the $200/day per room CASH deposit was better highlighted (especially since the ATM was out of order).

I needed an inexpensive hotel on very short notice and this place delivered. Clean, safe, comfortable and roomy. No frills, but also no drama or noise or “sketchy” people/situations. GREAT location. Staff communicated well but were not overly pleasant. It was fantastic for the price: $60

My wife and I enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The hotel is on the smaller side, but that’s what made it nice. The staff was very nice and very accommodating. The rooms could use some TLC, but all in all the bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. We were in the kitchenette king suite, which allowed us to fix some meals in the room. That saved us from going out every for every meal. There are washer and dryers on site and they work well. 30 minutes to wash and about an hour on the dry. The dryer runs very hot, so if you have 2 loads to wash, you can do a single dry for both loads. There is a $200 cash deposit you will need to make upon check in, but it was refunded promptly upon check out.

I didn’t know what to expect since I’m from the Bay Area and wasn’t too familiar with Oceanside, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, quiet, and very peaceful, which was exactly what I needed. The location is great and very close to downtown, restaurants, and the water. Jennifer was also incredibly helpful and accommodating, which made the stay even better. For the price, I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again.

The room felt a lot more run down than the photos would suggest. The blinds in the bedroom didn’t close all the way. Door to the bathroom also didn’t close. Awful fluorescent lighting throughout. However, parking was easy and check-in was smooth. It was fine for the price.

Right off a busy street, room was ok, dated but clean. No breakfast. Noticed a ceiling tile in the first floor hallway that looked like it had black mold on it. Room was big enough but walls were thin and could hear a lot of noise from other rooms and outside.

I ran it two rooms. It was very hot. We were on the third floor, no air conditioner. They offered us a rinky-dink fan would not change it to a different room, even though we were there early enough for them to do so they kept saying they would send maintenance and the air conditioner would have to have Freon or be replaced as I’m a property owner and I know it could not just be fixed without putting Free on in anyways needless to say they’re grabbing go breakfast consisted of two bananas and three apples so frustrating

Where do I start ? So the check-in process was super easy since I was with Expedia. The room was amazing!! Large, clean and everything you need was there. My only complaint about the room were the 3 small pillows they give you. Why not get bigger pillows to match the size of the bed?? It was a very quiet room, so I slept well.

The next morning, I got up expecting to have a nice breakfast as is listed on Expedia. I go downstairs to find two older ladies asking about a cup of coffee. There are two young kids working the desk, which is empty, and they tell the ladies it will be about an hour for more coffee because they have to wait until someone from Housekeeping gets there to make it. SAY WHAT??

Now I don't drink coffee myself, but I have worked Front Desk at a few hotels as well as been a Front Desk Manager for a few. There is NO REASON to have two people standing around doing NOTHING at the Front Desk, and not have coffee available during Breakfast Hours.

But the kicker to this..... There is NO HOT BREAKFAST due to this hotel deciding not to go back to having a hot breakfast after COVID. That tells me this hotel is CHEAP and EVERYONE should AVOID giving them any business.

NEWSFLASH..... COVID ENDED YEARS AGO!! QUIT USING THIS AS AN EXCUSE!!

And please EXPEDIA..... REMOVE THE INFO ABOUT A BREAKFAST. A bowl of bananas and apples, and some granola bars IS NOT a breakfast. Especially for the price I paid for the room.

The property is newer and furnishings are clean and well kept. My challenge was that although it is pet friendly and that amenity is highly promoted, I was charged significant additional fees without advance notice. No additional fees were noted at the time of booking and upon arrival I was required to pay these upon checking in. It would have been nice to know ahead of time.

My husband and I needed a room for a night so we could start the next day early. We live 2 hrs away from Oceanside and needed to be closer to Camp Pendleton . The room was decent . Had everything we needed, it was clean and spacious.
However, the bed was very uncomfortable. The mattress was old and very used up.. There were 5 pillows on the bed that were flat and half the size of a regular length pillow. Front desk lady talked and looked like she hated her job. No Customer service skill. She was very unwelcoming. Also while walking up to our room on the 2nd floor we seen black mold coming from the ceiling .

Lobby has a lot of unused space w tables in a dark hole n breakfast quite 😂..either commit to it or don't..They haven't.Desk agents are 50/50..fnice enoyif engaged but lobby vibe screams Go to your room!! This is such a cool place. Great location, as it's just far away from the downtown activities that you can do beach, downtown & get to this outskirt Oasis for quiet.

Clean, convenient & a great value. Close to In&Out Burger and Denny's if your looking for wallet friendly eats on the cheap.

The Harbor with its shops and restaurants are close by as well.

Room wasn’t bad…clean and refreshed every night. Staff at front desk wasn’t very inviting or welcoming. Very little to no breakfast bar. However, they did send an email about this after we reserved. Once we checked in, we were told that we had to pay a $200 refundable cash deposit for a multi-night stay, which made no sense to us. They mentioned that the website said something about it, but we reserved through Expedia and received no information about that. They wouldn’t let us check in without paying cash. It was just really strange.

Overall, the stay was good, location was great and we could walk pretty much anywhere. We were just underwhelmed by the amenities and staff at the front desk, along with the $200 strange deposit.

the AC unit did not work and I had to fight with the front desk personnel to get out of the hotel. To make the matter worst, they persuaded me to take a fan or keep the window open and feel as if the AC is working. What a looser. Wasted few hours of my tour fighting to get a refund.

Hotel was located within walking distance to restaurants and the pier. Felt safe staying there for our 2 night visit. The staff was very nice and attentive. It's a smaller hotel but it was clean and everything in our room was in working order. The only negatives were the throw pillow sized pillows and the plastic under the sheets had us wake up in the middle of the first night twice covered in sweat (a/c was on high). The second night we slept on towels and that helped. Also if you're used to good water pressure you'll be disappointed by the barely gets you wet shower head. Would stay again though.

The hotel was older, and you can see the wear on the furniture, but rooms were clean. We stayed 4 nights and no issues. The stay was ok, not bad, but could have been better. Rooms were good size, and bed was ok. Furniture and doors nicked up pretty good, but nothing terrible. Staff was ok, not real friendly, but not rude. Main cons was small parking spots, so bigger vehicles, like me had limited areas to park. Poor selection of tv channels too. Worst thing was the shower. No water pressure, barely came out to take a good shower. Location was fine only half mile from beach. All in all stay was ok, but i wouldn't stay again, main because of shower, and few little things i mentioned.

The Hotel Oceanside was very nice. That being said: Our room did not have an Ocean view. The snack Mart was Cash Only. And the deposit was the most I’ve ever had at a hotel… BUT! It was close to literally everything and overall was pretty nice. I think a lot of people may like this hotel because it is animal friendly. I think it’s great if you’re traveling with pets!! But if you and your spouse wanna little get away… it’s alright.

The door did not sit right, and let light in around the entire frame. The toilet was not cleaned. The staff at the front desk took photocopies of our drivers license and credit card, that was claimed to be “shredded later”. It was not a great experience, and we will not be repeating the visit.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Oceanside and would absolutely return. The location was incredibly convenient—and right off the freeway, making it extremely easy to find. Parking was free and conveniently located behind the hotel, which made arrival and departure effortless.

Even though I didn’t have a pet during the stay, I appreciated that the hotel is pet friendly and I saw doggy bags available in the lot.

Check-in was smooth and welcoming thanks to Mia, who was both efficient and genuinely friendly. I stayed in Room 201, which I would definitely request again. The room was spacious, exceptionally quiet, and impressively clean—both the bedroom and bathroom were spotless. One of the standout surprises was the excellent water pressure in the shower, something that made the stay even more comfortable. I appreciated that there were quality toiletries available.

I also appreciated the thoughtful in-room amenities, including a refrigerator, sink, microwave, and coffee maker, which made the stay feel more convenient and home-like. The linens were fresh and immaculate, and the room was so clean that I didn’t even feel the need to use the slippers I had brought with me. Tip your housekeeper!

One of my favorite moments was sleeping with the window open and enjoying the refreshing ocean breeze, even on a cool 52° evening. The peaceful atmosphere made for a restful night’s sleep. Overall, this was a quiet, comfortable, and very pleasant stay, and I would happily book here again.
