We got there early but still had to wait until beyond our check-in time. They didn’t even send anyone to “inspect” the rooms until after check-in time. They didn’t appear very busy and I think “inspection” should have been completed and the room ready at least on time.

First, I think the staff is doing the best they can with what they have to work with. They were great. Breakfast was almost nonexistent. Just instant oatmeal. Kitchen was not much more than a wet bar. We had to ask for dishes and utensils. We received 2 place settings and a frying pan in a drain board. Microwave was so small the plate didn’t fit in it. Do not plan on cooking here. Everything appeared clean, but there is a definite funk in the 3rd floor hallway. It seemed as though a large percentage of the people staying there are permanent residents. It was a little odd. I would not plan on staying here again

The lady that was in the room across the hall from us had cats. We could smell that cat pee in our room. The bed were super hard and uncomfortable to sleep in. Breakfast was underwhelming. Staff was solid.

Had a rez for my family of 5 to attend a soccer tournament. I called the hotel on Fri to let them know that although we weren't going to be able to arrive on the first night that I didn't want to lose the reservation and I understood that I would still have to pay for night 1. They said it was OK only to find out on Sat that I was recorded as a no-show and my room was no longer available. I showed the manager the call log and she apologized. Only room left was a single Queen which wouldn't work for my family. Ended up having to drive back home b/c all hotels were booked up due to the tournament. Happy Expedia took care of me and got me a full refund.

We stayed here to go to the street fair. The room was really good but there was a very bad smell in the hallway the whole time, luckily not in the room. Front desk people were great, very friendly.

Free parking and a big lot, no trouble finding parking. There were a few sketchy people hanging around the lobby.

katie at the front was always amazing & always had a great attitude even early in the am which is hard for most people . they had pots and pans & anything else you needed on hand . the rooms were very spacious, the bed was so cozy that you felt right at home . the ac system was amazing . the housekeeping staff was great as well

Our stay at the Carlsbad Extended Stay was extremely disappointing. The first room had ants crawling on the bed, ceiling, sink, and toilet. After being moved twice, each room still had ants and even cockroaches. Staff were polite, but management ignored the issue entirely. This wasn’t a simple cleaning problem — it was a full infestation that made the stay very uncomfortable.

I would not recommend staying here. Let me start with the check in. I arrived at 3pm which was my check in time. The lady in the front I don’t know her know name but let me add she was rude. She let me know the room wasn’t ready. I asked her if she knew when or a time that it would be ready and she said I don’t know what to tell you but with an attitude. Finally I was able to check in and the manager Marisol was very nice. Upon entering the hallway to go to my room there was a smell throughout the hallway that was not pleasant and it smelled that way the whole stay. I stayed Friday-Monday. Entering the room it was hot and smelled like dog food? I noticed the floor was dirty throughout the whole room as well as the bathroom. The bathroom was dirty also. Let me get to the bad part now. I was laying in bed with my toddler and I noticed a dead ant on the bed, I then noticed a few ants crawling on the bed. I searched the room and found ants scattered individually throughout the room. I found live ants and dead ants in the shower and bathroom sink and counter. Saw a few dead ones on the kitchen counter. I then found some crawling on my toddler!! I couldn’t get away from the ants some were on towels and on the other bed we had in the room. I went to the front desk around 10-11pm and I asked the lady in the front if there was anyway we could switch rooms because there was ants and they were crawling on the bed and on our son. She told me no. I asked for a refund she told me no. 0/10

There was absolutely nothing in my room, not even a drinking cup no shampoo no anything had to go to the front desk to even get a cup. The comforter and the sheet had stains on it, and they were ants all in the bathtub as it was late and I was in a new area. I just stayed in the room and slept on top of the linens. I would’ve given it an even lower score, but the room was cleaned.

I successful night stay for a family of 4.

Overall the Hotel was a successful experience for my one-night soccer night. My family a 4 were comfortable enough to sleep through the night. We had to keep the windows open at night to help the air circulate, so that it was less muggy. The front deck was helpful and friendly when they were around. I had to wait at the desk for someone for a bit for check in and never got to speak to anyone for check out.
All in all, the hotel was fine.

We stayed here for Legoland. It location was close by theme park. The hotel itself was \"ok\". The room was clean and what I liked was the flooring was NOT carpet. It was wood color floor panels. Made the room seem much more cleaner and roomier. The hallways had carpet and there was an odor. Anyways average stay and was ok for one night only.

I love the space in the room and the kitchen area, full fridge, sink, ample counter top area! Only thing was there were no dishes, utensils, pots/pans, coffee pot, shampoo, hair dryer, etc. I would have expected the room to be pre-stocked with everything. It was as though they rented the room last minute, but we made reservations a week in advance. The closet was great, with multi-tiered racks to hang everything. The AC was not cooling the room and the windows would only open about 3 inches, so the room was hot/humid. There were major ants in the bathroom, trailing all the way from the shower to the sink! No food was left there, so not sure why they came. The beds were moderately comfortable, mattress was not as comfortable as some other places. The food options were terrible! Grab & Go could have included so many more portable options: apples, bananas, oranges, yogurt, granola, milk, packaged nuts, etc. the instant oatmeal was not a good brand/type and the packaged muffins were VERY dry. Cheap quality choices. Coffee was only light roast. If only one type was served, medium roast is more common, or offer both light & dark options. Nice that they did have the hot water option for hot chocolate or tea. The customer service at check-in and for gathering our needed towels, dishes, shampoo, etc. was EXCELLENT! We loved Maria! She was so sweet & kind when checking us in, gathered all of our dishes, towels, etc. and was so pleasant to chat with!

I was disappointed that the rooms didn't have the usual items in them. Hair dryer, coffee pot, hangers, glasses etc. I could have paid more and stayed at another place and would have had all these items without having to ask for them. We also had an ant problem. Marisol was kind enough to move us to another room. She also compensated for the ussues.

Our stay was amazing. I was a little apprehensive when I was reading some of the reviews before staying there. But the cost was great, especially for the area, it’s within walking distance of the beach. The air conditioner was the only complaint I had and it worked, but you had to have it on the lowest setting to make it cold in the room. Other than that, everything was great and we would definitely stay there again in the future.

The gentlemen that checked us in was great. The elevator wasn't working and asked staff for status and had to carry bags and our wagon with stuff from the third floor. The girl that was starting her shift was unhelpful, her answer was i'm just starting my shift and the one that was working said, oh, i didn't even know it wasn't working. You had seniors and people leaving going up and down the stairs and not one apologized or called for maintanace to try to figure it out. It also said it provided continental breakfast and there was no coffee or any other type of drinks that were kid friendly and all they had was muffins and a bkfast bar. Just terrible, will not be staying here again.

I recently had knee surgery and stayed here for 7 nights. I have stayed at MANY Extended Stay hotels as I travel frequently for work. So I was expecting a kitchenette, housekeeping daily, etc
At this hotel, there is no housekeeping coming in during your stay. If you want that, there’s an extra charge. There was a cook top and fridge. Also a microwave. But if you want to eat, you must REQUEST EVERYTHING. Plates, cups, flatware. Even the pan to fry your egg in. I asked for a toaster, but too bad. They were all lent out already.I have never EVER been in this kind of scenario. I also saw tiny ants twice. Bathroom and near the bed. No dish soap? Front desk said” oh yes, we need to order more”. On the plus side, everyone is friendly. Very willing to give out extra towels or toilet paper( bring your own paper towels)

desk clerk changed my room to the furthest room in the hotel from the original room he was about to give me.
I told him I would only be there for the night and he was about to hand me a key for a lower level room close to the front entrance of hotel. when I got off the elevator and turned to go to my room, it was the last room at the end of long hallway.

No towels in room, had to go down stairs and to the front desk to get towels. Not happy that I had to walk from the room that was so far from the elevator.

Got our first room and TV didn’t work properly. Was moved into another room which was nice. Room is basic. Kitchen does not have any dishware. For an Extended Stay you think it would have basic dishware. Maybe you need to request it? Either way, it’s inconvenient. Included breakfast was not much of a breakfast. They don’t even have a dining area. Some packaged things to grab and go back to your room. I wouldn’t exactly call it breakfast. We went and got donuts down the street. Nice thing about the location is it’s walkable to the village where there are plenty of places to eat and shop. Otherwise, it’s got a bed and I got to sleep but otherwise bare bones.

Not impressed with this Extended Stay Hotel, Basic things like kitchen stuff had to be asked for and not available in the room and basic things were not even available. Utensils were limited. Coffee had no decaf or creamer. Breakfast only consisted of coffee, mini packaged muffin, snack bar, and oatmeal packets if available. TV volumne was broken. Ants were found in the room.

When we walked in the room it smelled super bad like cigarettes with a mixture of something and when we were settling our stuff, we were putting our waters in the fridge and when we were walking back to the beds we noticed something was under one of the beds. THERE WAS DOG POOP UNDER THE BED. DISGUSTING. They need to do better with making sure the room is clean before giving it to someone. We did end up moving rooms but still, they need to do better.

The property didn’t have any amenities except a full size fridge and swimming pool which was unclean most of the time. We stayed at the property over 2 weeks and the room wasn’t serviced at all. You have to throw your own trash and to get clean towels you have to lug your dirty ones to the front desk to get them changed out. The beds were really uncomfortable and lacked a warm blanket. The microwave is in an unsafe spot high in the cabinet which made it hard for me to use because I am handicapped and in a wheelchair. The tv didn’t work and it took a week to get it fixed. Last but not least the AC didn't work well.

I should’ve considered the name when booking this hotel (ie. EXTENDED stay). It is basically a low income housing unit. Most of the people staying here- LIVE here- and live here with their pets. The continental breakfast is Quaker oat oatmeal packets. hot water and coffee- that’s it! On the plus side, it is walking distance to Carlsbad village, shops and restaurants .

Not worth the price

The front counter staff were friendly. The room however was dirty, the bathroom fan was full of dust and hair, there was hair in the sink, the mattresses were lumpy and very uncomfortable. It was loud and although it was advertised as non smoking it had a faint smokev odor.
We checked out after 2 nights. Luckily we were refunded for the 2 nights we didn't stay. In addition it was supposed to be a full kitchen, but you have to bring your own plates, silverware, pans, cups, etc. There is nothing in the cupboards.
