The staff, from registration to housekeeping , were engaging and pleasant. We had dinner in the Carlsbad Village area, which is about four miles from the hotel. I was surprised that the hotel shuttle was available to take us and return to pick us up.

Too bad we didn’t get to enjoy the pool since someone had an accident (poop) in the pool. We appreciate the Westin accommodating us by letting us use the pool at the Sheraton and Mar Brisa. I loved the restaurant! Great food and drinks but not kid friendly. Our basic room was roomy and very comfortable.

As such the front desk should have the ability to explain to me how to check out sooner - rather than 'you booked with an intermediary - we have nothing to offer to help!
They need to be equipped with the phone number for the 'chain desk' at Expedia. Ends up I wasted over one hour to shorten my stay by a day

Unfortunately a disappointing experience at this Westin property- yellowjackets (dead) accumulated around the spa, as well as used bandaids carelessly left by staff for 2 days. In a post-Covid world, it was disgusting and unacceptable for a Westin property. Shoutout to the excellent housekeeping staff and gold-standard morning barista!

Good facilities with poor operations

Overall experience was good. We visited during not so great weather, so didn't get to enjoy much of amenities.
The Westin team's business operations & logistics didn’t seem very organized.
When I checked out at noon, I have asked them to use the dinning/drink credit the hotel offered at the check in to be used for final balance. A young crew confirmed it has been applied and I will be getting receipt in email despite my gesture to get a print out.
I then got a call from hotel around 2pm telling me Westin Carlsbad will charge me for the late check out. The hotel didn’t even know that I checked out. I explained I am checked out and in LA when they called.
After checking emails, as they sent 3 different version of receipts, none of them were accurate and no dinning credit was applied. I wrote them back to explain, but it was send only email from Westin so it got bounced. I left it alone as the amount, compare to over $1000 I paid for two nights, wasn't worth going through all the explanation.
Overall good resort vibe hotel, but they have some poorly trained staff thst do not coordinate well among themselves and with customers.

Property is nice but rooms seem a little dated . Short walk to Lego Land . Biggest issues were rust stain in shower, elevator seems like it will break soon . Walls are so thin the neighbors liked to have full conversations in the hall at 1030 at night while sleeping . Was expecting a bigger room and nicer accommodations for the price per night they charge . Staff was great and so was the breakfast .

beautiful property unfortunately lacking in housekeeping, and it was very cold during our stay and the heater/air conditioning unit did not work in either one of the rooms we booked.
Our suite was not serviced until we called for clean towels.
Only exceptional service
was from the valet and Bellman
Highly recommend
Check bill before leaving!

Unfortunately the AC & Heating in our suite was not working.
We spent two nights and requested after the first night which was very chilly only to receive no response from anyone or repair. Day 2 We left our suite at 8:30am returned 4:30pm after a long day to find the room had not been serviced. We had to call for housekeeping. Extremely disappointed, knowing we wanted to shower and rest before going out for our dinner reservation. The property is beautiful but definitely needs attention. The best service was the valet the team was excellent. We originally booked three nights, but checked out after two.

Only had a one night reservation. Staff was very professional. Only downsides I could find were on cleanliness and cost. My room had multiple hairs on the bathroom floor and bath robe. The $43 valet charge seemed excessive when the normal parking wasn’t far. Wouldn’t do valet again looking back.

Very good overall. But, this property has quite a few fees that aren’t included in the price to book. Parking & resort fees add up. I would say that each day I had fees of approximately $75 that were separate from the booking rate, just so you know.

They provide a secret entrance card to legoland, so it’s much quicker than driving and very close to legoland and all you have to do is walk through a special path they have. Gave an overall rating of 3 in cleanliness because they made us wait 30 minutes past our check-in time due to the room not being ready, was told they were waiting on a supervisor to check the room was clean and ready. When we finally got our room, there was dust on the nightstand, so not sure how thoroughly they check the rooms. Staff was great, the man gave us a voucher for a free breakfast for the inconvenience. But overall, great location and beautiful resort.

They put us on the first floor by the elevator. We didn’t get any sleep bc you could hear every conversation that was taking place in the hallway and every door opening/closing. The room had low pressure water, so the shower experience was bad!! Never staying here again.

We got to the property early and spoke to the front desk. They took my information, signed paperwork and put my credit card on file. The lady at the front desk said they would call me when the room was available. It was 4pm and still no call. We drove back to the property, and the woman said they didnt check us in. She said somehow are check in paperwork wasnt registered.

The bellman/ valet is completely useless. They didn’t even acknowledge that we arrived and when we asked for a luggage rack, he said no!
Then when we asked for his help, he came and dropped a luggage rack to us .
Wow…
Once we complained, they were ready to smile and acknowledge us.
Sad.
We won’t be staying here again.

Not a stay to relax and be pampered at all.

The Westin is a pretty property with a very attractive check in lobby the check in staff were polite and fast which was great but that's where it ends, The suite we were in only had one robe, one regular coffee and one decafe, I guess they only plan on one guest will be in the room, I had to call for additional, as you walk through the corridors there are many food trays from room service for most of the day at the pool there is a QR code on furniture to order food and beverage delivery to your pool chair but there is only one staff member who prioritizes the line in front of them QR orders after so you will end up in the line anyway otherwise you will be long gone before if it does finally arrive. you have to call for coffee and towel replenishment each evening due to housekeeping does not come unless called or the day you check out to turn the room.
