The hotel staff was very friendly and polite, which I appreciated, but unfortunately the breakfast experience was disappointing. The food was not replenished quickly, so many items stayed empty for a long time, and there was a very limited quantity and selection available overall. The waffle maker was also not working during breakfast service. It seemed like the staff on hand were doing their best, but there wasn’t enough help available to keep up with the guests. With better staffing and improved breakfast management, the experience could be much better.

Our experience began with an attempt to check in early; however, we were informed there would be an additional $30 fee or that we could return at the standard 3:00 p.m. check-in time. We chose to return at 3:00 p.m. as advised, but upon arrival, we experienced an additional one-hour wait before our party was accommodated.

Upon entering the rooms, we encountered several cleanliness concerns. Our room had an unpleasant odor, as if water had been sitting for an extended period, and another room in our party had condom wrappers left on the floor. Additionally, my sister was initially assigned the incorrect room, which required further correction.

On a more positive note, the breakfast was excellent. Despite a change in weather, the pool remained warm, and the jacuzzi was very enjoyable. The property’s location was also convenient, situated approximately 10 minutes from Legoland.

The room we stayed in (316) needs a bathtub renovation. The tub was peeling off in many places. I didn’t even want to take a shower because it felt dirty! It was the first time I ever took a hotel shower with flip flops on. The hot breakfast was very good & the coffee was amazing! Staff was very nice. If noise bothers you though, find another place to stay. It’s so close to the freeway!

We would stay here again!!! That says a lot!! The rooms are older but nice. We stayed towards the middle so we didn't hear the freeway. The breakfast is fresh and delicious every morning , Great even for the picky eaters there is something for everyone. The staff is very polite. We were to close to the beach so we never tried the pool. But it did look nice and clean.

Clean room,and also quiet despite being next to the freeway. The restroom/shower could use an upgrade. The ironing board could also be replaced. It was a bit rusty and hard to fold back up. Breakfast was good. What I liked about the location was it was near shopping and food and also minutes away from legoland.

I am very disappointed with this facility. There were several things that I have listed to better improve this facility.
1.) The furniture was not presentable. The night table was damaged and covered with a clock. The dresser was also damaged. The curtain had a hole and tear in it, which was very visible.
2.) I requested to change rooms due to a certain smell. The second room was better.
3.) Water pressure for the shower was very weak. The toilet seat was also not properly placed. The seat kept moving.
4.) Door key card malfunctioned twice where we had to go to the front desk twice to have them reprogram the keys.
5.) It said there was Netflix on the remote but there was none according to the television.
6.) 11:00 am was the check out and housekeeping knocked at around 9:00-9:30 am and we did have the do not disturb tag on our door.

As far as cleanliness it was fine. I normally don't write reviews but this is the first time. I have stayed at other La Quinta hotels but nothing compared them to this location.

When I first pulled up, I thought the hotel was out of business. The grass was over grown, weeds all around the building
. This place allows pets. The room with carpet had stains, smelled like dog pee and the bathroom was in bad condition with stains on walls and damaged furniture.

Clean floor, hair in bathroom, the shower looked like it was falling apart. The beds were comfy and the pillows were comfy too. It was a one night stay so I can’t complain too much.

Good location, could walk to the beach, but right next to I5, so prepare for the noise, all doors open to the outside, so the freeway comes right thru the door and window. Breakfast had good options, was always hot and well attended by the staff Pool and Hot Tub looked nice, did not use it. Had an issue with the top of the window sill leaking into the room, making the floor and entry tile all wet. Staff had it repaired, but did not dry carpet or tile, or offer to move us to another room. Not impressed by the service of the GM there.

The handle for the shower tap was broken when we arrived and there wasn’t any soap. They fixed the shower but forgot to refill the soap.

It was really an okay hotel, nothing fancy. But great value for the price. We booked a suite with 1 king bed and a bunk bed. It had 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms. Very impressed with the space. Room was facing the highway, so was really noisy. But we were tired from the long day at the Legoland park, so did not mind. Also rooms are a bit outdated, but everything worked and was clean. Beds were comfy. Breakfast had nice variety. Advice- try to wake up early to breakfast. It gets crazy crowded after 8am on weekends. Overall- good value for the price!

The staff was nice, it was a great price for a large room with my kids. The hall to our room though wasn’t lit and when going to the room at night with young kids it was a bit creepy. The room itself was rundown overall, it definitely could use some TLC. The bathtubs looked really bad.
The breakfast included had good options and its proximity to the beach and Legoland was nice.

The staff was absolutely amazing and doing everything they could to make the stay great, but unfortunately, they seemed very understaffed from check-in to breakfast to the cleanliness of the rooms. The biggest opportunity was definitely in the cleanliness of the rooms. The sheets were not clean once we pulled back the sheets there was hair in there. The carpets need to be shampooed and the pillows had an odor again. I want to stress on the fact that I don’t believe it’s from lack of care from want from the staff I do believe it’s from lack of care to inability of them having time to take care of the rooms properly the area of opportunity that needs to be taken. The greatest improvement on is going to be staffing.

We booked the family suite with a king bed and bunk beds pictures show couch and panted rooms king bed updated bunk beds but when we walked in it was so outdated full size bed old wobbly bunk beds ac units that stunk like urine if you ran them bath tubs that were falling apart and hair already in it a 1” gap under the front door killed bugs already on ceiling and walls and killed 3 more during or stay.. they have a giant lobby/waiting/eating area but super small breakfast area to get food in a little room I am a hotel engineer myself and would try to avoid this place by any means necessary

We were pleasantly surprised when we checked in. This property is well maintained, and the staff is very friendly. My family and I stayed here for three nights and would absolutely book here again. The room was clean, it didn’t smell like pot everywhere, and the parking lot is well lit at night. There were a lot of other families there as well, I’m sure heading to Lego Land. You won’t be disappointed if you book here.

The best part about our stay was the breakfast. Yes, the facilities were crowded, but the food was good and there was plenty to choose from. No way anyone can walk away hungry. The only complaint we had, which we did not report to anyone, was that that there was a wet spot on the floor near one of the beds.

It’s pretty worn out and the carpets were sticky. Also, was wakened at 6am by a loud landscaping tool droning outside. It was nice having a bunk for the kids but the rooms, in general, are ready for some maintenance and repairs

The front desk agent gave us a wrong type of room first. The correct one we got had a bunk bad not made at all and we had to do that on our own. The card keys kept having issues and we had to reset them twice during 3 days.

My stay started kinda bad but wasn't no big deal but the next morning I wanted to get to room again but the way they and everywhere else I've been just rolled over my deposit or something not really sure what they do but I know I never had to pay a 2ed deposit. So that means I would have $50 from the night before and she wanted another $50 for me to stay in the same room. So I would have $100 on a hold for 5 days. They and other places never did it that way . Plus being rude with a bad attitude did not help me out one bit. I think that's what was bad. She didn't help said manager not they today, of course

The staff completely ignored me as I stood there to check in. The same happened when i checked out, even though it was different staff then check in was. They were also not enjoyable to speak with, bridging on rude.
Do not bother going through the early check in. I did and they still went through the entire check in process again when I went to get the key. It is a waste of time and completely pointless. When I commented on this they gave me no reason why they needed all my info again.
The room was very old and run down. The walls especially in the bathroom were not pleasant. The floor was extremely uneven and gave you a dizzy feeling walking on it. The shower faucet was barely on the wall and hard to work. The beds were clean and nice. We used the laundry and they have a Speed Queen washer which worked great. The breakfast was fine.

We had an amazing stay at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Carlsbad! The staff and housekeeping were very attentive to our needs. The facility was clean, the parking was easy and convenient, and the continental breakfast was perfect — ready for us as we headed out each morning.

Overall, five stars! The receptionist who welcomed us was incredibly kind. She even turned on the fireplace for us, which made everything feel so warm and inviting. She never made a fuss about anything we asked for and truly made us feel at home.

We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
