The breakfast was awesome & plenty of parking & free. 8-10 min drive to Legoland. Our room seemed cleaned, but could definitely improve. Close to Fwy so a bit loud for my liking, however beds were comfortable. We would return considering the amenities.

My stay started kinda bad but wasn't no big deal but the next morning I wanted to get to room again but the way they and everywhere else I've been just rolled over my deposit or something not really sure what they do but I know I never had to pay a 2ed deposit. So that means I would have $50 from the night before and she wanted another $50 for me to stay in the same room. So I would have $100 on a hold for 5 days. They and other places never did it that way . Plus being rude with a bad attitude did not help me out one bit. I think that's what was bad. She didn't help said manager not they today, of course

The staff completely ignored me as I stood there to check in. The same happened when i checked out, even though it was different staff then check in was. They were also not enjoyable to speak with, bridging on rude.
Do not bother going through the early check in. I did and they still went through the entire check in process again when I went to get the key. It is a waste of time and completely pointless. When I commented on this they gave me no reason why they needed all my info again.
The room was very old and run down. The walls especially in the bathroom were not pleasant. The floor was extremely uneven and gave you a dizzy feeling walking on it. The shower faucet was barely on the wall and hard to work. The beds were clean and nice. We used the laundry and they have a Speed Queen washer which worked great. The breakfast was fine.

We had an amazing stay at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Carlsbad! The staff and housekeeping were very attentive to our needs. The facility was clean, the parking was easy and convenient, and the continental breakfast was perfect — ready for us as we headed out each morning.

Overall, five stars! The receptionist who welcomed us was incredibly kind. She even turned on the fireplace for us, which made everything feel so warm and inviting. She never made a fuss about anything we asked for and truly made us feel at home.

We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Our stay at the LaQuinta Inn & Suites ruined our short vacation to the Carlsbad, CA area. Here's why:
1.) We arrived at the La Quinta Inn at 4:40pm. Check-in was advertised as 3:00 pm. When we attempted to check into the room it wasn't ready. The front desk gal said, \"please give us another 20 minutes.\" We did, going back to the front desk after 25 minutes to be told that the room still wasn't ready. The gal gave us the key but asked us to wait to go to the room for another 15 minutes. Finally after waiting, in the car, for almost an hour total, we were able to access our room.

2.) The key cards used to access the room repeatedly needed to be re-programmed after each one-time use. We stayed there three days, and our room was in a separate building from the main lobby. Until I caught on That I needed to go to reception each time after the key was used once , I would help my husband, with dementia, up to the third floor, to our room's door, and leave him there while I hoofed it across the parking lot to reception to get the key re-programmed. I was told that They knew the key cards weren't working properly, they had ordered all new door lock mechanisms, but they were not yet installed.
3.) When I booked the room, nowhere did it say that maid service was only done every three days!!!! So for the three days we stayed, we had no clean replacement towels, no bed made, no trash removed.
Our reservation was for four days, but we left a day early. NIGHTMARE!!!

Hot complimentary breakfast was outstanding! A full hot breakfast bar with options for breakfast, burrito, waffles, cereals, breads and a variety of drinks. The staff did a great job restocking and making sure food was hot and available. I would stay at this hotel again just for the breakfast, pool and hot tub. My family also enjoyed the two bedroom situation where the two younger children had a separate room with a bunk bed. Allowed us to get a good night's rest for the five nights we stayed here. Water pressure from the showers was a bit low and the sound from the freeway was a little louder than expected, but these were not terrible issues. Our white noise machine helped drown out the noise. 15 minutes away from Legoland and 10 minutes away from the beach and 3 minutes away from the Windmill food hall which had fantastic dining options for dinner. They also passed out mini Lego figs to the kiddos which was thoughtful. For the price that we paid, accommodations were great.

The staff was kind. The room was clean and well stocked. Could use some updating for chipping paint. Beds were comfortable and plenty of outlets! The gym was closed which was sad. Looks like they are renovating it. Pool was TINY. Three older gentleman in the spa filled it. 😂 The hot breakfast was perfect!

I love that there was an elevator as well as stairs and laundry on site . Close the freeway which cause noise but only mins from downtown and Legoland .

Room wasn’t ready at check-in. Receptionist seemed irritated. Specifically asked and was told reception-area coffee was available 24/7. When I tried to get coffee at three am, was told to wait until 7. Reception person handed me coffee to make in room. Room coffee maker was unplugged and I had reach behind TV console to unplug something else so I could plug in coffee maker. When room key didn’t work, receptionist stared at me. I stared back. She said, “Is there an issue?” I said, “Yes, my room key isn’t letting me in.” Apart from that, everything else was fine. Although they did initially put me in an extremely loud room as close to the I-5 as possible. They readily changed me to a much more quiet room.

I'll start with two positives which were 1) it had a cute outdoor fireplace with seating area and 2) it's easy on/off to I-5 freeway and close to grocery and restaurants.

Now the issues. Staff wasn't very friendly (and we chatted with several). Our room was basically clean but definitely needed some TLC. The caulk in the shower was deteriorating and absent in some spots. The shower enclosure was yellowing (should have been white). There were cobwebs in the corners of the room. After being there for 2 days, we found ants in our room. We were given another room which also had ants. The third room didn't have ants but the outlet in the bathroom didn't work (and the GFI didn't work to reset it). We told the front desk and they said that maintenance would come up but they never did. So I had to use other outlets for my hairdryer and curling iron...not convenient. There was supposed to be a Fitness Center but it was just an empty room. It did have breakfast included but the eggs and potatoes were not good. I stuck to yogurt and the prepackaged muffins.

Even though this hotel was cost effective, I would NEVER return to this facility, and seriously question the Wyndam brand.

The hotel overall seems quite old and dated but it gets the job done. It was incredibly clean considering age. The bed was pristine and super comfy. The bathroom was old but still clean. These are my two deal breakers and neither was a problem which is fantastic. The highway noise was pretty high but otherwise it was a decent stay. Breakfast was impressive and you could get a good hot meal. Staff was helpful and friendly and I got a complimentary water. If you need a safe location and budget friendly option last minute on the same day like me, this is just fine.

The hotel’s system was “down”. While the lady was quite nice about it- the expectation of us getting over $500 cash at night in order to stay was a bit ridiculous. Upon check in- the people were great. The room was old and smelled pretty musty (enough it carried on our hair and clothes). It was also very noisy from the freeway. It was a very affordable option and felt safe but definitely got what we paid for.

Check-in did not meet expectations, as there were no door keys available upon arrival, which resulted in an unnecessary wait. Additionally, the front desk staff did not seem particularly welcoming or friendly, which made the check-in process feel less pleasant than expected.

I had booked a rate that included breakfast; however, after noticing mold on the bagels, we chose not to eat there. The room itself appeared clean at first glance, but there was visible mold in the bathroom and a persistent unpleasant odor throughout the room, which was disappointing.

Given the overall experience, I would only consider staying here again if no other accommodations were available.

My family of five stayed there for a night. The picture of the bunk bed along with the great rate persuaded me. However when we got there, the property and room felt run down. Everyone talks highly of the complimentary breakfast. It was okay. The room was situation in the corner, right next to the freeway. It was noisy as expected, but my kids are used to white noise. The room had a very dirty carpet -- everyone had to have their shoes on the whole time. The shower was not hot at all. The lighting in the room was really dim. No recessed lighting, only lamps and wall lights. Check in and out was an easy process. We will not return.

So much went wrong from the moment I arrived. Won't waste energy complaining. I checked in and decided to stay elsewhere within a couple hours. So I checked out yesterday around 5pm, they said they cannot process check out until today. I will never rebook there or recommended them. Spoke with the General Manger about some of the issues.

We had issues checking into our room. We rented two rooms; one was modern and nice however the other was outdated and smelled like mold. We requested for another room but that room smelled like mold also. The front desk then gave us another room next to the freeway which luckily the keypad was out of order. We ended up in an updated room, we were pleased with it. Breakfast was not worth it, sausage patty and potatoes were hard, and the eggs were watery.

The room had a horrible smell and had ants after day 2 i was done and checked out a day early. Yes i could have complained abojt the conditions but if one room smells bad most likely the other rooms smell also.
So why waste my time. Keep trying to get in contact with expedia to see if i can get a refund for the day i checked out sarly but haven't suceeded and the clerk says they couldn't do a refund because paid through expedia.
The place is not close to legoland, about 18 minute drive and about an hour walk.
Says they are a legoland partner but no perks i guess besides the breakfast. Staff was nice. Pool was convenient for my child.
The price was right for the time of year it is.
Close to grocery store.and dining spots.

Parking was bad. If you have a cargo box on top of your car, good luck trying to park in the parking area. You won’t fit if you’re over 7’. The street of the hotel was like driving down an alley and it was so compact and crowded. Hotel felt compact and very small. There was only 1 way in and 1 way out through the lobby and passing the front desk every time. Breakfast was not good at all. Did not have any variety and quality of food was bad. I stayed 2 nights and same food menu everyday. The room was spacious and pretty much the only thing good about the hotel. The shower pressure was bad and trickle down when showering. The carpet in hallway was dirty and the carpet in bedroom had a medium size hole right in the middle of the room. The shower handle was very hard to twist. The first morning when heading out I asked the front desk for cleanup service or at least fresh towels, I didnt get either. Overall disappointed and I would say I would not stay here again. This would be the first and only time staying here!

staff was friendly but the room was in poor condition and with the toilet flushing over and over all night. also, when i first tried to open my room, the electronic key card failed and i had to go to the front desk counter again and then it failed to open 2 more times and finally on the 4th attempt it opened! the staff never once offerred to go with me to the room even though i had to walk back 3 times to the counter! i thought that was ridiculous. area around hotel is very nice and mellow with lots of walking peacefully which i relished.

My stay was great overall. I was not impressed with being on the third floor when I requested ground floor room in my reservation. The bathroom fan was very loud, the shower curtain rod sagged and there were signs of a lacking maintenance. The service I received was great and breakfast was awesome.

While the room was fairly clean and the gentleman that checked us in was very polite and friendly, that was it. Our room had a very strong, unpleasant odor sort of like musty paint. The air coming out of the ac unit was stale and musty. The traffic from highway 5 was very loud. The laundry and fitness facilities were closed; although, we were told we could utilize the laundry room at the next door property if need be. The breakfast was crowded and when we arrived with an hour left of service, most all of the food was gone.

Room stunk like urine and mold. Extremely loud and hard to sleep due to being right next to the freeway. Lady at the front office when I checked in was extremely rude and now I have multiple unknown charges in my credit card from the hotel. Will never stay or recommend this hotel to anyone again.

Our room was clean and had everything we needed. Came with a frig, microwave, toiletries , hair dryer and breakfast each morning. It is an older hotel that can use some upgrading. The carpet in our room was worn and the toilet was for kids it was so low to the floor but for the price we paid for a three night stay, it was perfect. Took the grands to Legoland over Thanksgiving and they were able to use the hotel pool & spa and they loved it! The weather was nice and everything was clean on the property. Very well maintained older hotel. A lot of the guests had their dogs with them as the hotel is very pet friendly.

The room had ants all over the walls and surfaces in the bathroom. There was also a lot of damage in the room that was simply covered with duct tape. At one point the fire alarm also randomly went off and I had to get maintenance up to change its batteries. At least with that issue it was solved pretty quickly, but the cleanliness and state of the room wasnt the best.
