Everything was just fine for me. The room and the king size bed was terrific as well as all amenities--simple and clean
comfortable and I suppose most importantly, in the current US turmoil, VERY AFFORDABLE! All staff on site was kind, friendly, and available if needed. I'll definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you! :-)))

Booked 2 double rooms on ground floor due to disabled son. Arrived to find hotel under renovation, office held in 1 of the rooms the size of a closet. Was told no ground floor rooms, only 3rd floor and no working elevator even though that’s why I booked there! If we hadn’t driven 10 hrs to get there I would have looked elsewhere but guess what this reservation was non refundable as well!
Told staff there is no way he can go up 3 stories. She found 1 ground floor room, TG! But that left me & my 70 year old sister climbing 3 flights of stairs with luggage & multiple trips to and from ground floor. Room advertising shows coffee pot & microwave but staff says they no longer offer those items so made it even more inconvenient. Needless to say I won’t stay there anymore and since they blamed HOTEL.COM for not communicating our needs I won’t be using them again either!

Great staff. Great location. Rooms are being re-modelled. But those that are open are in v good shape. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Shopping right across the street with a great Lazy Acres, laundromat, Serranos ... a terrific and inexpensive Mexican restaurant (huge portions). Price is right for Encinitas.

Very disappointing stay. A sprinkler in the room was already damaged when I checked in.
After I checked out, the manager charged my card $75 for the sprinkler damage that was clearly already there. When I called to dispute it, the manager wouldn’t resolve the issue.

The hotel was also under construction with loud noise early in the morning and the room had dirty sheets and no do-not-disturb sign in addition to the sprinkler incident.

Thankfully corporate was more understanding, but with so many other places to stay in the area, I’d recommend choosing somewhere else.

The property is being redone and looks much better . The water pressure is amazing ! That said if you care about your money don’t stay here . They took my deposit . Saw it come out of my account as I showed the very rude desk girl immediately ( she claimed they didn’t get it but gave us the room anyway ) . As of 2 weeks later according to my bank the hotel still hasn’t released my deposit of $125.00 . And extremely rude when I ask about it

Outside of the building was pretty dirty. Unable to use pool. The room was clean but awkward. Bed was placed with the TV on the right side of the wall. I requested a room with grab bars in the shower. The one grab bar was placed on the far right side away from the shower head. Useless.
The tub itself was slippery and the slight pebbling on the bottom did not help. Rubber bathmats would be recommended as someone is going to fall and get hurt. Location is great. Staff were very nice.

I was in a tough position and they got me a room same day. They are in the middle of renovations, but this means they have brand new rooms with new beds and completely up to date. Location is great. Laundromat, groceries, gas just across the road.

Automatic lighting is... Obnoxious. No way to go to the bathroom without it coming on before the door is closed, waking up everyone else in the room.

Also VERY bright light for the main entry switch that can't be turned off.

The good- bed was comfortable

The bad- no cups for water, the TV is ridiculous to operate. The heating system is a wall unit and very loud. No coffee maker in the room. If you want coffee, you have to walk to the front desk. And their breakfast consist of granola bars and green apples. If you want breakfast walk across the street to Peabody’s.

The ugly- when I first checked in, I had my dog in the car. The front desk agent didn’t even greet me in the first thing out of his mouth was they don’t accept dogs. Within seconds, the skinny manager walked over and said we don’t accept dogs on property. I advise both of them that she was going to a friend’s house. When I came back to the hotel after dropping her off his skinny manager had his hands on his waist watching me like a hawk. Never ever will. I stay at this hotel again. Greet your customers, especially after spending fo

Newly renovated rooms, very clean. Good location about 15 minutes walk to the beach. Affordable. There is a freeway next to it so expect some traffic noise in your room. That may be a problem for light sleepers. Only oatmeal, apples, snack bars, orange juice, coffee, tea for breakfast

The elevator was not in operation and I had to haul my luggage up 3 floors. The shower did not work the first night. Seems like the construction workers had master keys for all rooms as they entered my room twice when I was present. I don’t know about rest of my stay

Clean room? Barely, room was waiting for demolition, the hotel was going through remodel, with complete demo of empty rooms. Furniture was beat up and old. I was amazed that he TV and Frig. worked Phone didn't work, Wi-Fi inconsistent, Lamp not working, no cups/glasses to use, bathroom looked terrible, peeling paint, cracked floor tiles AND the floor was WAXED! Shower had build up on walls and shower head. The sink and toilet were clean. Bed was comfortable, great pillows but was right next to the A/C .
Breakfast was instant oatmeal, old apples, some granola bars and little cartons of OJ. Coffee was Folgers, but I could not get any when I was trying to checkout! That clerk refuse to let me in. Took the keycards, promised to email my charges! Not sent yet! I must say I had no recourse but to stay there. Checkin clerk was nice enough, next morning clerk had coffee and food? out at 6am. Oh yes, being right next to the Freeway was a nice touch too. The outside hallways were completely dark at 6am, no lighting at all, makes using the stairwells an adventure! Looking for a lawsuit? Parking was okay, though watching workmen use their machines around my car was worrisome and a foremen parked right behind me! Blocking me somewhat.

This was a complete disaster of a motel...don't even know where to start, except maybe ask for a refund first...not one picture of this place on the website is a true representation of the actual property... it is torn up from the floor up. All 3 floors I can't believe it was a Wyndom property, the bed was might as well been concrete, bathroom disgusting shower and tub tv hanging half way off the wall I fixed it properly didn't want to get charged having them think I did it. The staff was friendly though I'll give them credit for that. The breakfast was a joke...the whole property has construction equipment around it and carpet in the room was disgusting.

My only drawback was that there is repairing and I imagine updating going on.
My room area was going to be next in repair/updated.
Trust me, it is ready for that.
I know many people may not have realized but you had to pay Close Attention to the faucets in the bathroom sink and shower.
If you didn’t pay Close Attention, they would continue to leak water.
So I learned the best way to turning them completely off.
Your front desk personnel were extremely friendly and helpful.

The room was almost uninhabitable. The baseboards were coming off next to the wall by the bathroom. I found 2 bugs crawling on the walls. The paint was chipped in several places, and it was overall very rundown, old and dirty.
I was supposed to stay there a week, but ended up leaving.

Hotel was a dump and in middle of construction. Our room smelled like someone was smoking at open doorway and hotel couldn't fabrezze it enough.

Not to mention the police banging on a door at midnight because of a disturbance that requires fire department and ambulance. No security to call as phone in room was disconnected.

I should have researched it more but it reminded me of those motels people go to shoot up. How this property is in a good area if Encinitas is crazy.

The rooms have multiple repairs needed, especially in the bathroom. There was mold on the shower putty/grout in a few places and horrible ceiling patch jobs beginning to get dark brown. It is unhealthy and they need professional assistance.

Secondly, the walls need insulation. It was a very noisy w patience and I heard the upstairs people all night as if bouncing and pounding on the floor.

Third, there is almost no air flow unless an ancient old window a/c is on, which is loud.

Fourth, people party near their cars outside and it is noisy. Staff were not helpful and often did not pick up my calls.

I paid over $750 for 4 days and it was awful. I do not plan on taking Expedia nor Wyndham Days Inn again.

This is the worse Days Inn I have ever stayed in. It was a dump.
The 1st room they gave me already had a guest in it.
The 2nd room was right next to construction my room. Literally pounding on my wall till 6p. The room had exposed light bulb in the bathroom. A power cord with frig,microwave and tv plug into it. The ac cord had a bag over to prevent getting wet. The room stunk real bad. The next day they finally gave me a room upstairs. It was ok but stunk & carpet was gross. The pool was a joke& the breakfast was pkg oatmeal or apple or orange. Embarrassing

Location is excellent for food and entertainment. It is close to many fine restaurants and grocery stores. The hotel was under construction. It seemed to me that they are in the process of rennervating the rooms. The room I was in was very dated. I could tell the staff does a fine job cleaning. However, the carpet, drapes, walls seemed to have 20 years of use. I found the mini fridge iced over and not working. I used the first day defrosting it. It worked well the next three days. The microwave was dirty, and the inside was rusted out. I choose to use takeout and use the fridge for my beverages. I have to put this experience in the you go what you paid for. The price was reasonable and considering I was using the room for showers and sleeping, I feel I got what I paid for. I would love to visit the site again after the renovations as the staff was excellent.

Orher than being close to the beach, restaurants and shopping, the room had cracks in the ceiling, walls and the bathroom shower was completely leaking into the bathroom floor when showering. Had to use towels to keep it from flooding. Never ever staying there again. This place should not be operating with the rooms they had. They were disgusting. It is a garbage hole.

Good location and needs some renovations

The location was great, as it was cclose to the moonlight beach (2 to 3 blocks away). Also, a great grocery store (similar to Whole Foods).and other eateries and shops are right accross thebstreet from the hotel.
However, the room itself, was not the best. The first room smelled like clorox. The smell was so strong, they had to switch the room for us. Also, overall room, carpet, bathroom, etc. Just felt like it needed a makeover.
I mentioned to the front desk attendant that the carpet looked like it needed cleaning, and possibly replacing.

They tried to overcharge me for stain to bedsheet that I did not cause. The photo they sent of the bedsheet appeared to have blood on it. At no point in my stay was I bleeding at any point. Unfortunately, it must have been in a location where I was unable to see it during my stay, otherwise I would have notified hotel staff immediately. How gross to think that I slept on a bedsheet that had someone else's blood on it. They also stated that there were excessive stains on towels. Upon reviewing the photo they sent, these appear to be minor stains. Additionally, nowhere on the Ts and Cs that I had signed, is it outlined what is considered an \"excessive stain\" and how a guest is responsible for charges related to stains. Were the towels attempted to be washed prior to over-charging me? When is a mark on a linen considered a stain? How is the guest held responsible for these stains? These are all questions that are not clarified in the terms and conditions for which I had signed. Very frustrating experience
