The upstairs room I was in was not my favorite one on this property. I've stayed several times. The windows face onto the hallway and south, while the prevailing winds come from the West. There was a tiny air conditioner, mounted on the south facing wall. It had to work hard to cool the room. In a full summer heatwave it would be overwhelmed. The bed was comfortable with a range of pillow firmness. Parking can be challenging if they are fully booked and you don't time things well. Backing out into traffic on the coast highway in a construction zone was unwise. Luckily I was able to manuever so that I backed in, facing the highway.

I loved this property and its quaintness and family-run feel. The communal seating outside in the courtyard is a great use of the space, and also enjoyed the free parking. Proximity to essentials like a little grocery shop with fresh local produce, coffee, and several great restaurants is perfect.

This is a cute little Inn. Our room was very clean, the aroma of fresh clean linens filled to room as soon as we walked into our room. Aside from the road work and Amtrak trains whistling through, we were quite comfortable. Located within walking distance from local eateries, coffee houses and shops.

I have stayed at this little hotel many times during my travels to the San Diego area, specifically in Encinitas. This unfortunately will be the last time I will stay at this place. We parked and as soon as we got out, we were asked by the manager what we wanted I told him that we were there because we had reservations. With a lot of attitude he asked me to come into the office and then asked me if we had received an email in regards to their check-in policy. Unfortunately, I never got an email because it came through here to my Hotels.com app. I didn’t know that they had emailed to state that they only had somebody until 6 PM and to call if I needed to make arrangements for later arrival we were not there later than six so we were in the slotted time. He then proceeded to show us throughout the hotel, which is something that we didn’t need because he has seen us multiple times over the years. This shows the level of customer service and lack of care for the people who stay at this hotel. I have interacted with the general manager many times sometimes twice a month or three times a month when I was visiting my girlfriend now my wife, the reason why we decided to stay at this hotel again was because I actually proposed to her while I was staying at this hotel four years ago now so it has a little bit of a nostalgic attachment to us. Just FYI, warning to travelers these are the worst beds you will ever sleep in the beds are as old as the hotel.

The room overall was nice and clean. The bed for me was very uncomfortable. It felt worn and very very firm. My biggest issues here was the noise. It is on a very busy street, and the train tracks are just across the road. The trains come frequently, and it is VERY loud. Once traffic and the trains stopped, it was very quiet however. But the trains start up again very early in the morning, and they blow their horn right in front of the hotel. I did not get a good nights sleep. If you are sensitive to noise or a light sleeper, this is not the place for you. I even had earplugs in and was woken many times. I checked in after hours, so didn’t really interact with the staff. I did see a man at checkout, and he was pleasant. They do provide you with a small thing of body wash and soap. There is a hair dryer under the bathroom sink, and they provide you with coffee pods in the kitchenette.

Whatever crack@ss algorithm gave this an “exceptional” rating is beyond me. The bed is literal trash, there was somebody’s used soap still in the shower. The shower drain cover was just free flying. Never again.

Stayed for a couple of days while in the area for an event. The motel is cute but lacks parking. Nice to have a kitchenette but there are no paper towels or a dedicated kitchen towel to wipe up the counter. While it's a pet friendly place, we had our dogs with us but they stayed in the car. We were very put off by a manager's comment to us, \" you tried to get us to believe your dogs didn't come in the room.\" Yes, they did stay in the car, and that comment was unnecessary and rude. Kate was lovely and accomodating when I called to let her know our arrival was later than the 5:00 pm in person check in. Nice area with lots of choices for food and drink.

I have wanted to stay here for years and I must say, they did not disappoint. Its quaint, it's cozy and very clean. A little home away from home. Great places to eat nearby amd get a good bottle of wine to take home. Short walk to the beach. I will definitely be back again.
