The newly remodeled room was great. We had an issue with our first home and that’s when they upgraded our room. If you go to this place, please ask for the remodeled room it’s worth the price.

A scam the picture showing where you can walk to the beach you can't and then when you ask about it they tell you walk down two blocks and turn left it's just they're just trying to get money they charge me twice didn't even call me back to let me know anything the man has attitude the only thing they have is a staircase leading to a neighborhood with a bunch of houses that you can't even get to the ocean big scam they overcharge for something's not even what they describe you cannot walk to the ocean that picture I took is not from the hotel where he looks like you can walk to the ocean from the hotel no you can't I lead you to a bunch of houses and they have no entrance to the beach you have to walk streets there is no private walkway to the beach they lied I asked him before we got there and when we got there she gave me different instructions it's the treatment and the false advertisement for me. They're fast to hang up on your face and then you got a question if someone sneaks in the room while you're sleeping because stuff will be moved around either way you're gone or while you're sleeping something's not right feel like I wasted my money

The room was very dirty upon arrival. There were ants and residue on the bathroom sink, cigarette butts on the floor, and crumbs on the carpet. The room had an odor. When checking in, the receptionist swiped my card several times (it mustn't have been reading), then he got frustrated and threw my card on the counter before handing it back to me.

Staff, except for Rosie ( on last day at checkout), was unbelievably rude, I believe violated my rights, were unbelievably rude accusatory about several things, even barged into my room once. I was extremely happy that he had to eat crow both times.
Construction workers & construction supplies, completely take up parking lot all day, and several spaces permanently block with supplies. Room was clean. If they( the 2 male managers) would stop spying on people, it would have been nice. Zero amenities, no coffee pot in room, not even at front desk. Not even a blow dryer

Every staff member went out of their way to act like a dick. They were absolutely horrid to speak with. Renovations were cheap and lacking. Shower had nowhere to place soaps/shampoo. No coffee maker in unit, which is a very basic minimum to expect in any hotel room. Sheets were stiff and thin, pillows were deflated and sad. But hey, there were like 17 new LED lights installed in random spots around the room so they at least spent money on that.

If you’re going to stay here, pay a little extra for one of the renovated rooms. The location felt safe & it’s conveniently close to the beach, couple coffee shops and food. Do not stay in a non-renovated room. You will be disappointed with its cleanliness, smell, and lack of amenities.

This cheap hotel has construction with paper thin walls, no sound proofing. The person in the room next door blasted her TV until 2am watching awful game shows and trashy sitcoms. Impossible to sleep. Requested manager to negotiate without resolution. She refused to turn down the TV. Loud train passing every thirty minutes. The term \"Rodeway\" is literal. It is right next to a busy road with lots of traffic and noise. Old and dirty room with moldy shower. Very trashy. On check-in the desk person had stated that they planned to charge a service fee on top of everything else. I explained that I had already paid Expedia which included all taxes and fees, and that they could not randomly raise the price after I had already paid. They did not charge the extra fee.

Where do I even start? The room I was given was unacceptable. The ceiling looked like it was falling apart, and the bathroom was downright filthy—there were literal stains in the tub. The carpet was extremely dirty, to the point that I couldn’t stay in that room.
I requested to switch rooms, but the second one wasn’t much better. The bathroom was still gross, and overall the room felt just as poorly maintained.
I understand the property is undergoing renovations, but construction noise continued well into the night. On top of that, the images shown online appear to be of the renovated rooms and do NOT reflect the actual rooms currently available.
Please avoid this place at all costs.

TV seemed to only work on one station but I really wasn’t going to watch much anyway so I didn’t even check with the front desk about it.
The bath tub looked like it was dirty but it was worn and had been scratched up. There was no breakfast but there was a vending machine available. The room didn’t look like the pictures that were online but it was comfortable enough for my stay and the price was reasonable.

Sheets were dirty. We asked front desk to change them. Instead we come back to the room with a stack of clean linen. Could they have not just made the bed and taken the dirty linen. Not to mention the clean linen was again not clean. We will not be recommending or staying at this place again.

The rooms were beyond absurd. They just were not acceptable. The face people stay there is beyond me. The rooms has stains pretty much everywhere - the floor, the walls/curtains, the bed. There was an odor to the room, the door jammed bad. I felt like I was going to get bed bugs just standing there. The furniture extremely tarnished. We did not even stay here but could not get a refund.

The room was nice on the surface. But there were stains all over the top blanket (duvet?), there was a random strange smell near the closet and bathroom, trash and ramdom things on the floor throughout this room. You could tell that it was very superficially cleaned. Just the bare minimum. But the absolute worth thing was that we couldn’t take a shower. It was the actual temperature of a cold plunge. Very disappointed since it had great reviews.

For the price point, i can't be disappointed. My only distractor was i had requested a 1st floor room because there's no elevator & being physically limited, have difficulty with stairs. I booked awhile back & didn't expect any issue, but was told when I checked in there was no 1st floor accommodations. Also the parking lot was a bit disorganized & taken up by supplies for construction & disabled spot was taken by an nonpermitted vehicle. Just little things add up & can be frustrating.

This hotel is a total bait and switch. DO NOT STAY HERE. The photo of the boardwalk to the beach is nowhere near this hotel, it is miles away. The stairway they do have goes to a residential street, there is NO beach access. The rooms are extremely rundown, with stains on carpets and the mismatched furniture, the AC unit made a racket all night so we were not able to sleep well, the tub looked dirty (though in fairness to the housekeeping staff it's the kind with a textured bottom that is impossible to clean); the tub drain, shower curtain rod and towel holder were covered in rust. Missing were the promised hair dryer, in room coffee supplies, and tub stopper for baths. While the girl at the front desk was polite and kind, the stone-faced guy at night was apathetic at best. Housekeeping did their best to scrub the room and it was clean as they could make it, the overall room was very nasty and we do not recommend and will not stay here again. We will be posting photos and this review everywhere possible.

Absolutely do not stay here if you want, rude service, disgusting rooms with pee and blood stains on the sheets, and the showers look like they haven’t seen cleaning supplies in YEARS! Stayed for business. Hotel descriptions made it to appear that it had views of the ocean but there were none. Walking to the beach was not very close. The rooms are old and dated. Bathtub had the paint peeling off in places. The wallpaper was bare in places(like it was torn off). Clothes dresser has broken and hanging drawers. When I asked about an updated room, it was stated that were are only 5 of those available and all were booked.

This was an inexpensive stay in an absolutely fantastic location. The room was pretty clean but run down (tub needed resurfacing, burn hole in the chair, mini-fridge needed to be plugged in and then froze my beverage). There were a couple of dumpsters or shipping containers outside the lobby so hopefully they are planning on upgrading. Overall it worked great for us for one night to just sleep in.

The Rodeway inn is a choice brand hotel. It matches the star rating and I got exactly what I was expecting.
The only gripe I had was the WiFi was a bit spotty.
Reception staff were friendly, personable and helpful. They don’t have uniforms like a 4 or 5 star hotel, but there were very nice people, all of them.
The location was great and close to the beach, right next door to a nice little coffee stand.

The place is really a nice and quiet place to stay when you’re in the area. There are a few places you can easily walk for dining and if you want to go to the beach.

The only thing I didn’t care for was the A/C can be a bit loud. But that is something you can easily do without using the ceiling fan.

Stayed for four days and they never cleaned the room. I was very disappointed as its just part of the experience if being at a hotel even if it is a cheaper one. I moved all our bags to the corner left nothing on the floors or bed and still no service. I asked about finally because the kids spilled some chips, it was early in the morning, and the desk lady told me i needed to go find the housekeeper and schedule a cleaning. Um no... thats not how hotels work in the US sweetheart. I felt it was extra frustrating as the beds are made with 2 topsheets instead of a fitted bottom sheet. So halfway thought the night you speeping right ON the matress protector, which is grose! They also have a bunch of hidden service fees, we booked online and still had several fees to pay at the desk which very much offended me! This place could be nice if they treated the customers better. Parking is super tight and pretty much full every night. They have a fee for parking and youbhave to give the desk your lisence plate. But then there are 2 giant vans with people living and parking in the parking lot. I had to park next to one andni got a huge door ding from the person living in the parking lot. Pretty disappointing for Del Mar!

Overall it was a great stay. Convenient to many restaurants and grocery stores and coffee cafés. You do have a few homeless people that hang around in the evening. Love the decor of the room, beds were comfy. Stayed in a Deluxe room that had a small kitchenette, but there was no kitchenware. Not sure if you had to ask for it or not. Only complaint, was that the floor was pretty dirty.
