We had the wheelchair accessible room with m the second floor. Shower curtain gets pushed in by wind making the curtain stick to you while your showering. Ice is on the first floor only, host made an error and accidentally signed me up for rewards when I didn’t ask to be signed up. Claims that is how I would get the complimentary late check out. If he had explained it required signing up, I would t have done so. Comped the $13 a night parking fee. Aside from, clean. Breakfast was good, nice setting and environment. Pool area looked clean as well.

I stayed in a king bed suite. The “kitchen” is a small corner with a sink and microwave. The sink was very small and there was barely any counter space since the coffee maker took most the space. The pictures online are very deceiving with the room. The staff at the front desk were very accommodating but I will say that the breakfast staff is very rude. I have never experienced this at this chain of hotels. The pancake machine was not working and when we told the staff about it they basically said there’s no more. Then proceeded to just talk in the back room. I was also told that there was no more sugar packets. This is very unlike holiday inn express. I honestly won’t stay at this location again.

Parking charge was $13 per night, front desk guy not very friendly, I was tired from driving 13 hours from Mexico and he was looking at me with a weird, I can say judgamental face like if I was some kind of weirdo. Room wasn’t the cleanest but a huge turndown was the dirty (stained) sheet where my 4 yr old daughter was supposed to sleep. We were too tired to call front desk, plus after the weird check in i was not comfortable to call for anything. Definitely not staying at another holiday inn in a long long time from now.

Horrible smell and smoke coming from HVAC. It set off smoke alarm. They moved us to another room which also had bad smell from HVAC. We found out they turned around our original room to someone else. The rooms had a musty smell. Never enough towels in the room even though I went every day and told them about it. The breakfast was not good. I have stayed at a lot of Holiday inn express and the food was good. First time I was very disappointed with this hotel chain.

Although our check-in experience was less than stellar, in general the hotel is as expected in its category. The housekeeping and service staff were very nice and helpful. I wiped the room and toilet with some wipes and they were clean! Breakfast was good, too perfect for kids. Overall a good stay, and the Benihana is in the parking lot so dinner isn’t too far. Close to ocean and easy freeway access, plus there’s a Ralph’s across the way if you need essentials. Unfortunately all hotels are quite pricey in California, so it was decent without paying $700/night.

The rooms were filthy! the furniture was filthy, the bed and pull out bed was sooo uncomfortable. Upgrades on mattresses needed immediately! Spoke to other guests, they had the same complaints. Luckily i brought my own cleaning supplies so i was able to clean and sanitize our room. Check out worker was completely rude, seemed racist, did not even acknowledge my presence, I have NEVER been treated so rudely. Breakfast lady was soo kind, check in ladies were also very kind, however it does not make up for the filthy and uncomfortable room. Will never stay here again.

Night front desk staff was grumpy, day and afternoon front desk staff was nice. Left my Kindle in my room at checkout and it disappeared. When we got home after checkout I realized and night staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful. Told me to call back in the am so I did and he was more helpful. Even let a friends check the room for me but it had already been cleaned and wasn't there.

The staff was very welcoming. All details of the room, amenities, and free breakfast were explained to me so well, I had no questions to ask.
Our room was clean and I even noticed that housekeeping came the next day, which does not happen at other hotels since COVID. This was a great place to stay and I definitely would recommend.

Entrance was being pressure washed when we arrived. Floor wet and wet floor signs. No hot water in lobby for tea. Not sure if there’s suppose to be coffee 24/7 but there wasn’t. TV in room didn’t work and tech was sent to room too approx an hour for them to fix the problem. Then realized for 3 people we had 1 towel. Pool looked to dirty to use.

bathroom could have been cleaner, front desk staff was nice. Sadly one of the women working the breakfast was rude when I asked her a question. No it wasn’t because of a language barrier because I am latina and so is she. I heard her speak spanish so I asked in spanish. She was not only rude to me but to my mother as well. Gave dirty looks. The food was also very mid. Basically severed the same thing the whole weekend. None of the food was like the ones in the pictures. Personally I booked it for the the rate and the included breakfast. I think i rather pay else where with nicer breakfast staff and better food even if it means spending more. Other than that decent hotel.

I don't normally write reviews but one is warranted here to alert others to avoid this property!!! The photos of the hotel are deceptive. The outdoor pergola was missing and outdoor furniture was shoddy and all the cushions were missing from the wicker seating. The pool was dirty and not heated as stated (which is why we chose this over an air BNB).

My daughter and I got no sleep during our stay. The family in the room above us starting our 2nd night sounded like they were doing WWE wrestling and dropping bowling balls above our heads. This went on every day the entire week till at least 11pm and started before 6am. When I would knock on the ceiling they would mock me by pounding on the floor or slamming their doors repeatedly. I spoke to the front desk staff and managers every day. The managers told me they could not force them to move rooms. They offered to move me to another floor. I was there with my family and we had 3 rooms all next to each other so I was not going to move away from them nor should I have had to move. Every time I spoke with front desk staff, they told me the manager would call me. They never did. I had to follow up with them. My son also paid an upgraded fee for a suite so we'd all have a place to sit when hanging out at the hotel. There was no couch/pull out bed in the room. It was just a huge room with a bed in it. When we checked out the manager said she would ask Expedia to refund my son and I one night for our rooms. I have heard nothing.

Property is very run down. No tub, shower pan was all chipped, toilet tank had a chunk broken off, and furniture was beaten up. Beds were very firm and AC worked well. Housekeeping did not come the next day so i ask if we could at least have some towels. They never showed up.

Everything (Front desk, polite staff, lobby cleaness) was good until we got into our room. when we opened up the fridge we found a cup of coffee. Not sure how long it's been in fhere. The good thing was the room was clean and tidy.
One more thing the shower curtain was too close to the tub. It made the shower area felt smaller. It could have been roomier if the shower rod was moved about 2 - 3 inches away from the bath tub.

Check in was fast. I stood at the reception area for awhile before being helped by a heavy set lady at check in. She was not personable or approachable but rather more dismissive almost like you’re being an inconvenience to her. Never made eye contact with me. Asked her if the pool was heated she said yes, even though it was not…I also asked her if there were towels available she said there should be, and throughout this whole interaction with her there was no acknowledgment or eye contact from this lady. When we got to the pool there were no towels available like she said there was. Had to go back to the front desk to request for some. Our first room reeked of something very foul and disturbing. Called the front desk/guest services for another room which a gentleman in the front was able to accommodate with no issues. He was very friendly and accommodating. The second room had a similar smell I’m guessing because it was on the same floor and may have been just a plumbing issue. Overall our stay wasn’t terrible but not the greatest either and the hotel itself is very outdated even the elevators were struggling at every use.
