The staff was polite. The room is a “bare bones” as it gets. The door of my room barely closed and had to be aggressively closed to be able to lock it.

This is absolutely a basement bargain room.

Right off the freeway. Very convenient. However, there is traffic noise due to close proximity of freeway. I’d left the closet and bathroom doors opened to block the constant noise. Noise is reduced, but sounded like howling constant wind. I had a double queen. It’s spacious and clean. Looks like recently renovated. A small frig and table with 2 chairs. No breakfast though. It’s coffee, tea, and pastries. That’s not breakfast.

Update: DO NOT stay here. They charge an extra $100 that was supposed to be for incidentals. They’ll scan, charge, and make you sign the $100 credit card charge before even giving you the keycard. So it was double the price for the room. What a scam!

I checked into this hotel expecting a relaxing getaway and instead felt like I had been cast as the lead character in a low-budget horror movie.

Within minutes of entering the room, we found multiple spiders. Not one spider. Multiple spiders. I tried to convince myself it was a fluke, but then things somehow got worse.

After taking a shower, I reached for a supposedly clean towel and discovered it was covered in someone else's hair. Not a stray hair. Enough hair to make me wonder if I had accidentally grabbed the previous guest instead of a fresh towel.

At that point, I wasn't sure whether I was staying in a hotel room or participating in a forensic investigation.

As if the spiders and mystery-hair towel weren't enough, the hotel sits directly on a busy main road, making traffic noise the unofficial soundtrack of our stay. Then, at 7:00 AM sharp, construction workers arrived outside our window and chose violence.

Nothing wakes you up faster than the sound of concrete being obliterated six feet from your face. We were launched out of bed by industrial-grade demolition noises before the sun had fully committed to being up. I've had gentler wake-up calls from emergency alerts.

By checkout, I had experienced arachnids, biological mysteries, traffic noise, and industrial demolition. I paid for a hotel stay and accidentally booked an immersive sensory experience.

The rooms are clean enough, some signs of deferred maintenance in the shower area, the bed was firm and comfortable. Sheets clean. Coffee at front desk was good with a lovely croissant.
This hotel may not be good for light sleepers. The 5 freeway just roars all night long- I didn't realize this place was literally off the exit ramp.

The Hotel is right on Hwy 5. It is an extremely noisy place. The first room we had, on the second floor was noisy, but what was worse was that the AC did not work. The next room we got had a working AC and was more sheltered from the Hwy noise. They never should have given us a room with non functioning AC. They promissed a Breakfest, but there was only coffee and the equivalent of the chocolate Twinky. (The coffee was very good) Hardly a substitution for bfest. The hotel was very convenient to where we needed to be, and the price was very good. The Hotel was very clean and tidy. But they should never had advertised \"Free Bfest\" The staff was nice and for a yound family going to Legoland, it is probably an ideal location

Had room 117 which was handicapped amenities. Step in shower allowed water to drain onto smooth floor . Very slippery..no anti skid material or pad on floor..very dangerous for handicapped guests. OSHA would not have approved this room for handicapped guests. Shower curtain allowed water to spill onto floor. Reported issue to desk.Recommend non skid floor mats or safety strips on floor .

This property was amazing! We had the room that slept 6. It had a separate large room with the king bed and two queens in the main area. For the value, I highly recommend this place and would stay there again. The only thing that would have made it better is a sofa in the main area and a jacuzzi by the pool.

The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and there’s a good amount of parking. The middle of the hotel is open at the top in the common area, so it makes it noisy when people are being loud there since the room doors open into that open space. It’s kind of noisy in the rooms due to this, but it wasn’t unbearable. Would stay here again!

The nearby highway was incredibly noisy, but inside the rooms it was remarkably quiet. The rooms were clean, but the floor showed a little wear. Breakfast service was a small bun sparsely laced with chocolate--though it appeared you could have as many as you wanted. That's it. You need to bring food with you or plan on eating out if you want a real meal. The two staff people we met were friendly and helpful. We had an issue with towels but it was quickly resolved. We felt safe.

Immediately upon arrival the agent that check me and my wife into to the room seem to have a bitter attitude. The greeting was no warm at all. My wife and I were confused how the deposit and hold to get the room was handled. My is way more thorough than I and we both were confused when she (front desk) said your room was paid online but we need a credit card for 100 for the room. I said to the agent will we get charged right now or is that an incidental hold. She just repeated we need a credit card for 100. Needless to say my wife credit card was charged 100.00 on 3/20 Friday but we checked out on Monday 3/16! So.i called back to the hotel and of course the agent reminded me that she knew who we were. She then proceeds to tell me there's a difference a hold a charge and every hotel has the discretion to charge that fee.. There were issues at this hotel we checked in and so therefore they charge a 100 deposit instead of a incidental hold...so livid!!! Cause the customer service was on zero from her because she says that she mentioned that to my wife and we signed the paperwork so we understood what was happening. If this is how Days inn conducts business from a bait and switch position, I definitely will not be staying

Said they offer breakfast, they no longer do. The wifi was out our whole stay and they said the pool was heated but it wasn't. Many little things wrong in the room like the light in the bathroom didnt work, charging port near dresser didnt work, tv didnt work until we got a new remote from the staff.

I stayed here with my wife and three kids in one of the suites while traveling to Legoland. The suite was clean and it had modern touches that made are stay feel comfortable and cozy. The staff were pleasant and were even willing to give us a 12 pm checkout time at no extra cost. My only slight complaint is that it is was a bit noisy due to the proximity to the freeway. Overall, this is a very good motel option if you have more than 4 guests and need more than 2 beds for your stay.

Room had odd smell. WIFI was down. Was supposed to get serviced, but still down second day. Breakfast was a pre-packaged pastry. I moved out after one day and found other lodging the other two days of my trip.

Most disappointing were the reviews. I can't imagine this place receiving an 8.4 average. They must have stayed somewhere else by accident.

Only pleasant thing was the lady working the desk at night.

Tapping (water drip) from inside the wall woke us up both nights. Hairdryer was dysfunctional -- made a loud scraping noise when turned on, barely blew any air; unusable. NO WIFI FOR THE EXTENT OF THE TRIP. Coffee was put away by 9am on Sunday?? That seems pretty early. 😠

We had such a wonderful stay at the Days Inn by Wyndham in Carlsbad. Our room was clean and comfortable, perfect for our needs. The staff truly made the experience exceptional: everyone was amazing, super friendly, and genuinely attentive.

A special shout-out to the housekeeping staff, the maid was so sweet and always nearby whenever we needed extra towels or toilet paper. We felt safe and completely at ease staying here over the Christmas holiday season, which meant a lot to us.

We loved it so much that we ended up extending our stay and added a few extra nights through the New Year! Mahalo for the warm hospitality, we’ll definitely be back this summer. See you then!

The rooms were terrible. Even you need to ask coffee brewer to bring for you. The encounter lady (the very first one) was rude and angry. Later she said she had lost her father (if someone losing loved one should not come to work that day. The bed was very uncomfortable. It was so bad that I escaped one day earlier.

Everything was pretty good - the Expedia site indicated that only accessible rooms were non-smoking, so we booked that. Turns out all rooms are non-smoking. The accessible room was right by the lobby, so we could hear the phone ringing and staff talking when trying to fall asleep. The shower in the room made the floor very slippery, but the bed was comfortable. The freeway is pretty loud - drowned it out with the fan in the room. The staff was pleasant and the location to our friend's house was great. Walked to the diner on the corner - also great.

The staff are wonderful, but this hotel is LOUD. The noise from the freeway hits the courtyard, which bounces back to the room doors, so it's loud from 2 directions. Wish I had been aware of that before booking.
