This was a fabulous boutique hotel right outside the main city walls. The space was so comfortable and it was great having the tub and shower to relax with. The entertainment system was really great too. I wish there were English instructions for use of the options they provided to you via the iPad app. However, if you have Netflix or App accounts you can use those and its no issue. When I come back I will stay with them again.

This was an amazing stay! The room was so spacious and comfortable that I did not want to get up... and tackle Rothenburg! Large room, great bed, fancy renovation, wonderful bathroom! Loved my room! And fancy that the restaurant has a 1 Michelin Star! Well, dinner was out of my price range, but I heard that it was amazing. So was breakfast at 29.50E - heard rave reviews from guests and local people. I found great options for breakfast and dinner in town, though I am sure \"not at the level of a 1-Michelin-star!\" I am not dinging it as I know that it takes work, commitment, and quality to get there, so hats off to them! Still, as a hotel guest, I would highly recommend this hotel!

First impression, it was a charming beautiful old hotel with multiple houses.I had a problem with finding the lobby location and getting into the house. (Should had given a clear instructions). When I checked in, I found old towels on the floor & full trash can. The bathroom has a weird design.I felt uncomfortable shower with clear wall and the tall sink & very low sink table.

A charming little hotel tucked away just a short walk from the old town. The room presented challenges for 3 adults featuring a “full monty” glass bathroom 😅. Fortunately, the staff was helpful and accommodating to waive extra bed when we needed to find another hotel room for our son due to the bathroom issue. We had plumbing issue in the room but was quickly fixed. Self-helped laundry facility was a plus point. Despite the initial hurdles, the room was a good size, and the bed provided a comfortable night's sleep.

Checking in was so simple and fast. The man who helped us (Sasha, I think) was so informative and sweet! The hotel is just outside the wall city and it was easy to explore the city, head back to the room for any reason, then back to the gorgeous city. The trust system kitchen was so great😍😘, easy to grab a snack or drink at any moment. One the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at!

The hotel is located 1 block outside the city wall, making it east to drive to and walk into the city. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Only issue was there wasn't much of a barrier in the shower, so water kind of leaked onto the hardwood and into the toilet part of the bathroom every time we showered. Besides having to wipe the floor after showering, I actually loved the shower and the room. I would stay here again.

Perfect Christmas stay - Heike provided us the best service before we even arrived, Stefan and Sascha were perfect in explaining the superb menus we enjoyed three evenings in a row. The Villa was also very nice, but we really enjoyed Alter Ego - very tastefully renovated, modern and sleek. We felt in both places fully at home. And the meals were truly incredible. A Christmas to remember for us!

Fantastic hotel! Would highly recommend!! Great staff, very friendly and helpful. The room was fabulous, huge bed, very comfortable and lots of pillows!!! Most hotels we have stayed in only give one very soft pillow which is not good for those of us who suffer neck pain, so this was a great bonus! Fantastic shower, best room we have had yet when staying in hotels! Excellent location for walking into the city, five minutes away, seating outside the hotel to sit at night with a drink and enjoy the evening when you get back. Also plenty of beverages in the fridges, wines, beers, snacks etc to choose from and pay for when you check out. Has parking which was essential for us as we were travelling on a motorcycle and don’t like to leave it parked in a street somewhere where you can’t see it. We will definitely recommend to our friends and family and have plans to stay again!

Hotel is still under renovation when we live there. Construction staff was in and out, not all rooms are ready yet. There are no front desk in here you had to check in in the next hotel beside it. Other than that, the shower is very comfortable and bed is comfortable. With the higher than average price we are paying for this hotel in this area, if breakfast would be included would be more reasonable and nice.

Loved the really cool, modern Alter Ego hotel - after checking in at the main villa, you are taken to the communal room where you are introduced to the trust bar and complimentary kitchen facilities which include free tea, coffee and water. The rooms were super stylish - the TV and WiFi are operated by the supplied iPad and the shower was heavenly - you could operate 3 at a time! Location wise, you are on the edge of the old town so is perfect if you want free parking with access to all that Rothenburg ob der Tauber has to offer.

Die Toilette im Zimmer bietet keinerlei Privatsphäre. Nachts ist es unvermeidlich, dass der Partner durch die Spülung oder das Händewaschen geweckt wird. Der Safe ist so tief unten im Regal angebracht, dass man sich zu dessen Bedienung auf den Boden legen muss. Die Fenster können nicht richtig verdunkelt werden. Unter dem Schreibtisch leuchten Lichter die ganze Nacht. Es gibt keine Hacken, an die man z. B. eine nasse Jacke aufhängen kann.
Die Möglichkeit vor Ort ein selbst zubereitetes Frühstück einzunehmen fanden wir gut.
