Stayed here for a few days in August, place was lovely very clean and everyone was really friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again. Only issue I have was it being very warm in the summer as our room was in the direction of the sun but there was no fan in the room and having windows open didn’t help much however it wasn’t that big of a deal it was still a lovely stay.

I liked the location. I did not like the communication with the staff. I had to wait for them to show up at the property to check-in. When I had a question, I could not get a hold of anyone. The entry door to the property did not lock properly. It is a security issue in a tourist town. The staff were not honest on the parking situation in town when I talked with them.

The hotel is superbly located right in the heart of this most beautiful town. We were offered off-street parking for 10 euros by a helpful host. The attached cafe was not open during the evening but there are plenty of options nearby. The room was warm and comfortable

The booking was for a double room and we were given a twin. That is not the end of the world but this was not the end of our problems. My husband found a brown mark on the sheet and black hairs in the shower (we are both blond). It was impossible to keep the window open due to the smells drifting in from the burger joint downstairs and as a result the room was quite stuffy. Finally, just as we were heading out to dinner (thankfully in another establishment), we came across a mouse running around in the ground floor corridor adjacent to the hotel and restaurant entrances. All the being said the location of this hotel is great and Rothenburg is a very pretty place.

The location was great, although it is on a Main Street and is very noisy early and late. Room and bathroom were modern and nice, but small. Tough conditions getting luggage upstairs with no help from staff. The advertised terrace was locked and inaccessible. There was no bar or lounge. The hotel rooms were above a small cafe which was closed for two out of the three days we were there. Unfortunately, the smell of the cafe hits you when you first walk in and travels up. The property owner is not there much so it’s all about self service. Rooms were also warm being on the second floor with only windows for ventilation. However, when you open the windows you deal with the loud tourists below. No fans or AC. Property manager was not helpful.

Two shortcomings

The room was nice and clean, but it needed a USB connection so I could charge my cell phone and the wash sink drain plug had to be removed in order for water to drain. The location was excellent, right across from the local pub and at 10 € per day, parking was easy and next to the pub.

All locked up and in darkness on arrival dpors locked and no one about a man turned up and said did not expect you till later and its my day off gave me a key and told me it fitted front door inner door and room , told me where the room was and left the hotel. He was rude and unhelpful .the room was nir made up and to say the least unkempt .
Wr had to leave and find another hotel at a higher rate a claim qill be following for a refund and i am totally surprised that a company like expedia would have a dump like this on your lists. Was dark, unattended and dingym

Perfect location , good hotel

Easy to find Hotel , a short walk from the Railway Station . Friendly staff to greet us and show us our room . Amazing location near to Plonlein made this a great base for exploring the town . Even got up at 6.00am to see what Rothenburg looked like without all the tourists, of which I was one ! Plenty of cafes and restaurants and places to stop off and hav3 a cool beer . Plenty of shops if that is what you want too .

The hotel is located near the c road/path to Berg Eltz Castle. Strenuous walk but worth it. 25 euro for transport down.

Great little place

Hotel was perfect for our needs. Best part was the new Rothen-Burger restaurant that opened in our hotel lobby 2 days before our arrival. Excellent burgers! The guy who runs the restaurant is also the manager of the hotel. He has a fun, helpful personality and we thoroughly enjoyed our interactions with him.

Nice, within the walls.

The hotel was nice, but the room next to ours was sealed up with a warning sticker from the city. Not sure what that was about, my brother translated it and it talked about being closed, but no real explanation. Our room smelled of the sewer, I think that may be the reason the other room was closed. It would have also been nice if the room had a fan to circulate the air. Their was no A/C, that would be a must for me in the future.

Nice stay in great location--with amazing views

Rothenburg is a must see and this hotel is fine for the $$. The hotel manager is not the warmest and fuzziest (some might interpret as rude) but you just have to try to warm up to him. The hotel is small (bathroom is minuscule) but honestly it's fine. Pretty clean, great location on the edge of the town within the wall, everything within walking distance. The view from the back of the hotel is just amazing--it's a fairy-tale come true.

The proprietor (who is borderline rude) advertises available parking but in reality only has 2-3 spaces which were not available on either night we stayed here. The room was tiny but clean & well maintained...the traditional German breakfast was very good. The female staff members were all very pleasant.

nice view, great location

The hotel's back side is towards the outside of the castle so the view of the valley was fantastic. Too bad we can't see it from our room. The hotel is right at the heart of Rothenburg so you can explore and see with easy. Make sure you check out promptly at 11, as we delayed for 20 minutes and the owner got upset. Good to keep mind for the future.

Owner is a friendly guy, upgraded us to newly renovated room with a beautiful view at no cost. The room itself was cozy. The only issue was the bathroom. It was very cramped and the extremely 21st century sink didn't work as well as we would've liked.

Excellent WiFi connection. Clean and quiet. Owner speaks English. Hotel is inside the city wall a stone's thow away from Siebers Tower which is the most photographed tower in the city. Parking is 8 Euros each day, but you can check into the hotel, drop your luggage in your room, then park your car in a free lot outside the wall a short 10-minute walk from the hotel (the owner will give you the address). Hotel closes at 1900 so plan to arrive early. This hotel is a gem, you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended!

Owner is a piece of work, accommodations lacking

I become stuck in traffic in southern Germany due to the refugee situation. When I find a phoen I call the owner to tell him I will be late for check in. He says there is nothing he can due, I beg and plead and tell him i can be there in 2 hours or less and that it si my honeymoon. He didn't care. I had to and a different hotel after making an expensive call to Expedia who also didn't help. So my loss of a $75 prepaid room, an $80 phone call, and a $180 room we found was what that night cost me. When I go the next morning to check in he tells me that sometimes when people call to tell him their flights are late he gives the keys to the pub across the street, what the heck? Why dint he do that for me?!!! Then he lies and tells me I should call expedia for a refund, which I do when I get back to the states, but they call him for permission to refund and he denies it. He was lying to avoid confrontation. Also rooms are tiny, not as pictured, beds are terribly old and worn, as in you fall into the middle when there are two people and they separate.

Clean friendly little hotel in picturesque town

stayed August 2015 for two nights. Very helpful owner, our attic room a little dated but very comfortable. Small family run hotel in the picturesque town of Rothenburg. Owner can provide access to lock up garage for a small charge.Although weather was quite warm, and our room did not have air condtioning it was easy and safe to leave the side gable window open overnight. Breakfast excellent for such a small hotel. Value for money

Quaint and charming

Inside the walls of Rothenberg, so the location is fantastic, walking distance to food and the medieval city iteslf.

I booked a 3 person room to find a bunk bed and a \"king\" bed that has twin beds pushed together, so technically, it can fit 4. Nice size room, view is of the street in front.

The bathroom is remodeled to with modern finishes, a towel warming rack and glass shower, but it's small about the size of a closet.

The office to pick up keys is in the restaurant itself. If you go outside, there is a view of the valley. Great stay, comfortable clean and good value.

We were just passing through Rothenburg on our way to some meetings. We had heard so much about the town we decided to check it out. I booked the hotel just a few days prior to going. I was very pleased with the location of the hotel. Easy access. We were there during off season so parking was not a problem and the hotel itself was not crowded. The hotel staff was pleasant.

Great hotel service.

Staff service was quite helpful. We didn't plan for Christmas having ALL restaurants closed. They made sure to save a spot for us, and cooked an excellent dinner. He gave us some great recommendations in the city as well. The location to the city is good, and easy to park a car there as well. Not in the heart of the city (a bit of an uphill walk, but only about .5km from the city center). Room was a bit small, and pillows were extremely uncomfortable.

We stayed one night in the middle of the week and the hotel was not busy. We were in room 1 which has a nice patio. It was very cold so we didn't spend much time out there - but it has a nice view. Price was very reasonable. Owner showed a good place to park. The hotel in a great location. Rothenburg is a great place to visit. You'll enjoy just walking up and down the streets. Any hotel inside the city wall is bound to be nice.

Great owner, wonderful location

The owner was so incredibly helpful. It was a pleasure to stay here. The rooms are small but we paid an extra eight euros for a room with a balcony that overlooked the countryside. The shower was great but again small. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Location was great, near to all, service impeccable ...we were able to park about 1 block down from hotel.

Right at the entrance of the wall of Rothenburg obT, we were happy with this hotel, although it has no elevator and we had three flights with very heavy luggage. It's quite tiny for the price, but it's location, location, location. very nice breakfast and kind people.

Walking distance to the City Center. Location is very convenient. Room is very small. I requested for the 3rd floor and it was a mistake cuz it's the last floor so we were in the attic room w/ ceiling beams so low. Our shower floor was clogged. It's hard to lift luggage to the spiral staircase.

The location, the condition, and the cleanliness are perfect. It is a family owned hotel. However the manager is really rude. We almost lost our reservation because the manager leaves at 19:30, and after that if you don't have your key you won't be able to get in. Another couple arrived after us and they had a reservation not fully paid, so they lost their room (supposedly if you haven't pay for your reservation, you lose it if you arrive after 18:00).

For the price the hotel was good, small room but adequate. Clean room, nice simple breakfast. The position was fantastic - an easy walk to everything, on the main street. Free wifi worked well and we were able to park opposite the hotel.

Though it's possible that there isn't a bad room in the place,room #1 is in the back of the hotel and is very quiet. Beds are comfortable and the down comforters came in handy as it was cool at night. Breakfast was OK. Parking was a plus.

The worst & nightmare hotel ever!!!

This hotel is the worst of all.
The host is very impolite and rude.
He discriminates Asians.
I’ve never experienced this kind of thoughtlessness and strange hotel and host in my life.
I arrived at near the hotel at 8:40 in the evening and I called the hotel and intended to ask about the parking lot. After the host of the hotel found out we are from Asia, he told me “You are late for the check in, so there is no room for you.“
I was shocked and embarrassed.
“What on earth going on?”
What can I do with wife and two kids in this strange place at night?
I checked the hotel voucher but there is no check in time policy. So I checked the Hotels.com and found the check in time policy.Their check in time is 3PM to 8PM but also there’s late check in policy which is Optional extras.
Late check-in between 8 PM and 10 PM can be arranged for an extra charge of EUR 25.
Even I found this hotel’s check in policy of Agoda is 9:30PM.
So We came to the hotel and asked check in again, the owner said same answer “You are late, No rooms for you”
I begged “You cannot do this, there is late check in policy in the hotels.com.”
“At least you have to refund the money “
He told me again “I don’t know about the refund, you can ask to Hotels.com”
I and my wife were very upset and argued with the owner.
Another guests from Germany persuaded the owner and intermediated us .
Finally we got the key but it was a total nightmare.I had a very bad memory of Rotenburg because of this

En skuffende oplevelse på baggrund af forventninger skabt ud fra billederne. Et trist værelse uden udsigt. Minimalt badeværelse hvor man knapt havde plads til at stå foran vaskekummen.
Vi har prøvet to andre hoteller få hundrede meter fra Am Siebersturm. Begge disse var på alle måder langt bedre og tilmed billigere. Am Siebersturm var henh. 46% og 65% dyrere end disse to, og på Am Siebersturm var der ingen morgenmad, hvilket var inkluderet i de to billigere hoteller.

Trevligt litet hotell med närhet inne i Rothenburg. Ägaren ringde oss kvällen före ankomst och berättade att Hotels. Com tagit för lågt pris som han inte accepterade. Vi fick avgöra om ville betala mellanskillnaden med 20 euro eller avboka. Vi betalade mellanskillnaden.

Rothenburg i våra hjärtan

Ett trevligt litet hotell med fin service och vänligt bemötande. Fräscha rum, flera med utsikt över dalen annars finns terass att tillgå.
Bra frukost, restaurangen koncentrerar sig på hamburgare. Tyvärr var det vilodag vid vårt besök. Hotellet ligger bra placerat i denna pärla bland medeltidsstäder. Inte för inte är ju Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Tysklands bäst bevarade medeltidsstad. Oavsett årstid så blir man aldrig besviken på denna pärla och även omgivningarna är värt att vandra runt i.
