This is the third time we have stayed here. Staff is always nice and helpful. The hotel is right across the street from the train station making connection easy. It is about a 15 minute beautiful - stopping for pictures- walk to the city center. The rooms are spotless. Unfortunately, their restaurant has closed and their bar is only open on weekends when their occupancy is high. But great value and convenience.

The breakfast bar was great. Rooms (including linens and towels) were a bit shabby, but clean. Our door didn't close/lock well; we discovered it ajar when we returned from town (presumably by housekeeping) When I mentioned it to reception, the woman at the desk was defensive and rationalized why it might have been left open. As it was a security issue, I expected an assurance that steps would be taken to insure safety going forward. I told someone else the next day as we were leaving and she was more responsive.

We thought the staff was great, the hotel was clean and very cute. The room was quiet and clean and the breakfast the next morning was great. There was a variety of meats, cheeses and vegetables. As well as breads and cereals. The only challenging thing was the parking. But, parking is a challenge anywhere in the general area. We would definitely stay there again if we are in town.

This is an older hotel. It was clean but needs an update. Very small rooms and tiny bathroom. Parking was a block away as there is almost none at the hotel. It is a 10minute-ish walk to the city walls of Rothenburg. Staff was kind and gave us all of the info we needed.

The hotel is very quaint and the hostess was very nice. The room was great we were on the third floor so going up and down the stairs was hard on my pregnant wife but once up there we had a view to one of the towers from the room. There is no ac so if it is hot during your stay that is something to consider. We had the window open all night and it was perfect temperature. Would definitely stay here again. Easy walk to the altstadt.

Great location for Christmas markets!

Our main reason was to explore the Christmas market and this was a great location! Right on the edge, we were able to walk in past the castle walls and explore all around in central Rothenburg. Easy to come back to the place. We did have two twin beds squished together which wasn’t the comfiest and we had two separate blankets that also was a bit difficult instead of one main blanket on one main bed. It wasn’t bad, just wasn’t the comfiest but we’d stay here again. Our main reason was to go exploring and we didn’t need a hotel with tons of facilities, just a place to rest our head. If that’s your purpose, would recommend this hotel!

Easily accessible and rooms are of decent space. Walking distance to public transport, supermarket and touristic areas. Waiting area looks good and welcoming. Open space to leave bags if needed.
I wish they would let me check in when the room was ready as my train was early and had to sit for 2 hrs before being allowed in. Their internet was not even working at that time. There were lots of long hair in the bathtub. And the cleaning lady starts knocking at door to wake everyone up at 9am and dingles her keys around until everyone is up and leaves. I was hoping to have some decent sleep as check out time is 11am. The staff never smile and are quite abrupt in interactions.

The man working at the hotel front desk seemed very unhappy with his job. When we entered the hotel, he looked upset and spoke in a very rude manner. We were a group of several people, and some of us wanted to order breakfast, but he wouldn’t allow it unless everyone in the group ordered breakfast. The room was extremely small, dark, and dirty. The shower was so tiny that it was difficult for one person to turn around. Staying at this hotel feels like paying for suffering

There was someone to check us in, they let us park our car a few hours before checkin time which was very nice. So we could walk around.
The rooms are a bit outdated but it really didn't make a difference. The room was clean and had enough towels for two. It was a good place to stay for the evening. We were at the back of the hotel you could not hear anything from the street. The breakfast was very good. It was a nice place to stay.

The area in which the hotel is located is very convenient, but the hotel itself is very dated and doesn't have any air conditioning. The bathroom was especially bad, where we found mold in the shower. It's too bad, since there's a mall across the street and you're a 10 minutes walk away from the walled city.

it's an older style property that is good value for money. It's about 15 mins walk to the main square - but you won't feel bored. I took a leisurely walk and explored the outer areas before venturing into the walled town.

I was allocated a room in the adjoining building which wasn't ideal but I took it in my stride as I was just staying one night and I was traveling solo. There was no fan and I didn't want to leave the windows open - so it was a bit hot inside. Not sure if the rooms in the main building are better appointed.

Got onsite parking which cost me about 12 euros (can't remember for sure).

Breakfast was nice - food was always getting topped up even though there was a group hoovering up everything :)

If you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel, this offers good value

Room was spacious and clean. It was very very noisy because it’s on a busy corner on a main street into town. No air condition so we had to leave the windows open, which made it even noisier. Did not have breakfast there because there was little atmosphere, and we decided to walk into the main town. Probably would not recommend the hotel due to the noise you want to get a decent night sleep!

A few Maintenance Issues

This is a solid option if you don't want to stay inside the city walls as it it quite close and has parking.
I discovered too late that one of the two windows did not have a blackout curtain (only a net curtain). That meant it was very bright overnight. Also the bed lamp did not work on one of the two beds. Other than that a comfortable room with a spacious bathroom and full size bath. Heating was good and internet worked well. The breakfast had good variety but at 10 Euro was getting a little pricey, certainly compared to the cost of the room. Overall pretty good and I would stay there again.

I understand not being able to check in early, but think they should have been able to safely store a backpack for me for a few hours. I was tald I could leave in next the TV, where anyone could walk off with it. (No working lockers at the train station). First gentlemen in the morning I dealt with was very short with me, not very friendly, the woman at the desk later in the day was very nice and helpful.

The bathroom/shower is hardly big enough to turn around in. The location right next to a main road makes it tough to open the windows at night to cool things down.

Our flight was delayed so we were getting into rothenburg later than planned around 11 pm. According to Expedia website it says late check in is available until 12 pm and to just call ahead. We called the property and the manager(Christian) that we talked to sounded like he didn’t want to help us at all, was rude, and told us late check in wouldn’t be possible. We explained what the website said and that it was out of control and he said it’s not possible due to coronavirus to late check in this time, covid has been happening for over a year and half at this point so their website is outdated. The guy continued to not want to help us and told us we needed to find somewhere else to stay. When we asked for a refund because he was not honoring what the website said he realized we booked through Expedia. We thought we had already paid at the time, but later realized that we had just received a total and in the booking email it stated to pay at property. But I guess since the manager realized he wouldn’t get any money from us he then allowed to do a late check in. It was very simple, we just had to email a picture of our vaccination cards and then there was a lock box with a key inside and it took less than a minute to get into our room when we got to the hotel. Overall, the room was nice and had everything you needed. We are just very offput by how unwilling the manager was to help us when the late check in process was so simple. The customer service was not great

No air conditioning and a loud street if you need the windows open, but they provide a fan which does help. Clean and comfortable room. This hotel is just across the street from the Rothenburg ob der Tauber train station. Then it is maybe a 15 minute walk to the old town wall. The wifi was decent. There is also a good supermarket across the street from the hotel.
The room could use a bit of an update. The curtains did not entirely cover the window.
The hotel was a good value for the location. I would stay here again if I am ever back in Rothenburg.

For the price and location to the walled city it was a no brainer. Could the beds have been a little more comfortable? yes, but they were fine for the type of hotel at this price range. The room was clean and was also upgraded with a new vanity and freshly painted walls. The breakfast had a good variety of meats, cheeses, cereal, breads and jams. Only hot item was soft cooked eggs. Overall we would stay here again for a stop over, probably not for an extended period of time though.

Greeted by a very helpful desk clerk for check in. She even helped us by printing our boarding passes!
We stayed in the guest house in a double room. It was lovely, spacious and clean. It has a small writing desk, free WiFi, even a sheet with a map of the town and sights to see.
We arrived late so went to the little bar on the property for a drink and a burger. Both were delicious. Server even gave us hints on a little cafe to visit.
We had breakfast on site. Lots of variety for a reasonable price.
I would definitely stay here again.

I did not like the extremely slow internet service. Even after complaining, it did not improve.
Secondly, my wife appears to have contracted a bad case of bed bites (on the 2nd day of our visit).
The shower water faucet was extremely difficult to understand on how to get the shower to work.
The only selling point is how close it is to the bahnhof, it is across the street.

I was a bit worried cause quite a few reviews mentioned noise. But when i stayed it was very quiet despite being a bus load of tourists there. Wifi was great in the room which is not always the case. Staff was grumpy though and an occasional smile would help a great deal. Price was great for such a touristy city. Across the road from train station. Great if you leave by train.

I really enjoyed this hotel - was very tidy and clean. I didn’t get to try the food, but the bed was very comfortable! The only thing I personally didn’t like was the lack of air conditioning, which is entirely my personal preference (I’m a spoiled American). I imagine under normal circumstances the temperature is beautiful, but sadly I came during a large heat wave. I kept the window open to keep the room semi-cool. Normally this wouldn’t be any issue whatsoever, but there was also a large tour bus staying here and the people/kids with them we quite loud - so I could hear them most of the time. They did quiet down around 10pm or so. But let’s be honest though, they can’t control the weather or the tourists and they can’t be at fault for it. Other than those two things, there wasn’t anything I could complain about. I’d stay here again! ^.^

This hotel is right opposite the train station, which is perfect if you travelling by public transport. Or if you are driving, there is free parking on site, which a number of the hotel located in the old town do not have. The location is quiet and a large supermarket is on the opposite corner. The old town is less than a ten minute walk away. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful, the breakfast is included in the very reasonable room price and is quite good, with very good coffee. The rooms a re not air-conditioned and it was very hot when I stayed but it was still comfortable. Overall - very good value for money.

We were overall very comfortable. Excellent location to the Medieval City and directly across from the train station. Grocery, post office and clothing stores right next door. Our only complaint was the lack of hot water and the tub leaked. I was grateful for the tub though although the water was lukewarm at best. Excellent Location and Helpful Staff!

Excellent location close to train station and a few minute walk to old town. Love the little library they have where you can borrow books or games. Very comfortable room and appreciate the helpful staff!
