Pros and cons

Because I don’t speak Italian or German, checking un was a challenge. The receptionist behaved as if I was the one at fault for not finding a common language. After taking our passports and handing me a key, she left abruptly without indicating the location of the room. The room itself was nice. The on site restaurant was very good, but very under staffed (maybe because it was Italian Liberatiin Day, a holiday). Breakfast and parking were fine. The Wifi did not work during our entire stay. Takimg into account the checking in debaucle, we did not have the energy to complain.&

Nice rooms; Great food!

Nice clean rooms. Staff very friendly. Rooms had nice balconies. Beds were comfortable but room was hot. No air conditioning, no screens on windows - very large black flies. Food in restaurant was very good. Nice pizza oven! Breakfast was outstanding. Parking was a challenge but not insurmountable.

Large spacious room with Mountain View. The room was cosy and had a large bathroom. Everything was clean and in good condition. The hotel had nice decorations and flowers which made it feel comfortable and warm. We had pizza and it was delicious. The breakfast was great. All in all a enjoyable stay and a great value for the money.

Old-fashioned, a little threadbare

Serviceable but slightly timeworn guesthouse by the side of the road. The best part was the food as the restaurant was quite nice and the waiter very pleasant. The breakfast was good. The hotel premises seemed a little worn, and the rooms seemed a little musty and damp. There is scaffolding all over one side so you can't see out. Check-in was a little slow and the hotel staff didn't seem to care much.

like a dream

We spent 3 days in the dolomite area. We stayed in 3 to 4 star hotels. This hotel ranks the highest in terms of breakfast buffet. They are generous. High quality pastries, cold meats, juices, coffee and mile etc etc. None of the other hotels that we paid more could match it for the food. Nice clean rooms. You smell the mountain air and hear the streams nearby.

Nice Hotel near Bozen

Great location, yet close to Bozen. Renovated guest rooms and restaurants are all fresh and clean. However the renovation was still going on and was quite noisy. Also the insect spraying outside.

nice secluded hotel w views slightly hard to find

fine, economical, good breakfast, beatiful view from balcony. the only issue was the location. google maps shows 4 km from bolzano which isn't true. plus there's a detour. you need to phone the hotel for the real directions. google maps won't get you there. it's probably over 10 km from bolzano.

Wonderful find near Bolzano

What a wonderful find. This is a smallish hotel located a bit off the beaten track on the side of a deep wooded valley. It has an excellent restaurant with a large terrace where you can dine in the sunshine. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.

One difficulty is that Satnav devices have difficulty finding the hotel. Ours took us to the wrong village even, but it was worth the minor inconvenience. If I'd known more we would have stayed longer.

The most friendly and helpful staff in Italy

We happened to stay on a day that was a regional holiday. We had scheduled to pick up a rental car but the office wasn't open and the buses weren't running a regular schedule to pick up the car. The staff made a call, found someone to go to the office, and drove me six miles into Bozano to pick up the car (no charge). This allowed us to fully enjoy our one day in the Dolomites with the help of further tips and insights about the region and activities.
The hotel is new and immaculately kept. The restaurant serves on a covered or open terrace with a beautiful view and the sound of the river in the background. The number of diners far exceeds the number of guests, drawing many local customers with a hybrid Italian-German menu befitting the South Tyrol Region.

The hotel wasn't too bad, but it had a list of minor niggles. Some examples: there was a pudding in the vegetarian section of the dinner menu which one of us accidentally ordered. When we sat down for dinner we were moved because we weren't half board even though there was no reserved sign on the table or anything to make that clear before we sat down. We booked a triple room with three single beds and got a room with a double bed and two single duvets. None of which on its own was that bad, but overall left a fairly bad impression I'm afraid. On the plus side it was fairly close to Bolzano, it had an amazing view, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was good.

Nice Place, hard to find

The hotel is newly renovated and very nice. The biggest problem was finding it. It's a little out of the way and the Tom-Tom rented with the car couldn't find it. After asking directions a couple of times we found it. Once there we really enjoyed it and wished we could stay longer.

Great hotel for any occasion!

Had an amazing stay here. The rooms were first rate and the staff was very kind and helpful. Also, it was very easy to get to from Bolzano. Very relaxing opening the windows at night to the sound of a rushing river and the spa was first rate. We had to leave early and the man at the front desk even woke up at 3am at his own home to call a cab for us as we could not reserve one the night before and could not speak Italian to call one ourselves. I highly recommend staying here. Justin and Simone.

L'hotel è situato sulla SS241 da dove si può raggiungere facilmente Bolzano ed altri paesini circostanti, tra cui il comune di Nova Levante dove c'è il Lago di Carezza. Nel costo del pernottamento è compresa una mini spa con sauna docce e zona relax. La colazione è molto variegata. Per la cena consiglio i piatti tipici locali. Hanno anche un'ampia scelta di pizze ma io non ho mai provato. È tutto molto pulito, accogliente e il personale è disponibile per cercare di soddisfare ogni richiesta.

Très bon accueil. Très pratique le restaurant sur place avec 2 salles aux décorations différentes . Excellent rapport qualité/prix tant pour la chambre que pour le restaurant.
Ai mis seulement bien à la rubrique propreté car sur le balcon, un cendrier plein de mégots de cigarettes n’avait pas été vidé avant notre arrivée. Sinon propreté de la chambre irréprochable.

Ottimo, camera pulita con finestra e terrazzo, stanza ampia e bagno grande. Buono il ristorante dell´hotel. Unica nota negativa il buffet di cui abbiamo scoperto l´ubicazione dopo aver ordinato i cappuccini al bar. Al buffet mancava comunque il caffé, o comunque era esaurito. Cameriera non particolarmente cortese.

Erste und letzte Nacht in der Herberge Zur Sonne

Wir hatten uns das Zimmer für die letzte Nacht in Südtirol gebucht. Der Empfang war relativ kühl und schnell vorbei. Das Passwort für das WiFi wurde uns erst auf Anfrage mitgeteilt. Bereits im Treppenhaus kam uns ein sehr strenger und mit Feuchte beladener Duft entgegen. Dies wurde auch beim Betreten des Zimmers nicht besser, jedoch wurde hier die Ursache des Geruchs gefunden: Schimmel im Badezimmer. Zum weiteren Zustand des Zimmers: nur eine Bettlampe funktionierte und bei einer war der Lampenschirm zerstört. Das Bett quietschte bei der leichtesten Bewegung und die Infobroschüre war uralt und mit Flecken versehen. Ich bin nicht pingelig, aber das Zimmer war weit unter unseren Vorstellungen und für den gezahlten Preis wurde nichts geboten. Das Frühstück war okay, nach den mit dem Hotel gemachten Erfahrungen aber leider nicht mehr wirklich schmackhaft. Das wat unsere einzige Nacht dort und wir können nur jedem davon abraten, hier zu schlafen.

Schön gelegenes, kleines Hotel. Wir hatten ein Zimmer zur Bergseite hin, wo auch ein kleiner Bach in der Nähe rauschte, was Nachts auch bei gekipptem Fenster kein Störfaktor war! Netter Wirt und Personal. Gutes Frühstück, das auch immer wieder aufgefüllt wurde. Das Abendessen war ebenfalls sehr gut! Unser Zimmer war so gut wie neu.
Das einzige Manko war die Matratze, die uns persönlich zu hart war. Wir können das Hotel auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

La mia camera era decisamente vecchia e quindi per niente ospitale - camera nr 12. La colazione è discreta, ma il voto più negativo va alla Reception! Purtroppo sono arrivata alle ore 22:00, stanca morta, e il ragazzo di servizio ha insistentemente detto che la mia prenotazione non c’era e quindi niente camera! Scherzo pessimo, soprattutto a quell’ora dopo una lunga giornata di lavoro.

Personale davvero molto gentile peccato per la colazione. Essendo intollerante al lattosio ho cercato di mangiare solo alimenti privi dello stesso ma con enorme sorpresa: ERANO TUTTI SCADUTI!!!
Burro senza lattosio con scadenza il 29/10/2018, peccato che fosse il weekend del 09-10 febbraio 2019 😱 Ho allora provato con delle fette di pane confezionate (senza glutine e senza lattosio) ma anche queste scadute in data 05/02/2019
Un vero peccato! Altra cosa poco comoda riguardava la posizione del televisore... dall'altra parte della camera rispetto al letto..
per il resto ottima posizione per raggiungere Bolzano (8 min di auto)

L'incubo inizia per trovarlo, l'indirizzo è sbagliato e non è presente su maps. La pulizia lascia a desiderare, le camere sono vecchie e l'aria puzza non c'è ricambio d'aria.Al terzo giorno ho lasciato un segno sulla finestra per vedere se aprivano ed al ritorno conferma neanche le finistre si aprono durante le pulizie, Il personale è a dir poco scostante, pare che gli stai facendo un favore a stare li e devi fare la cassia al tesoro per pagare. Vediamo ora se mandano la fattura elettronica... La mattina a colazione (alle ore 7.00) tutti i tavoli sporchi e non rifatti dopo che altri avevano fatto colazione, buffet quasi finito e nessuno ha aggiunto roba. Insomma non andateci

das Zimmer befand sich im alten Teil des Gebäudes, das Bad ist komplett sanierungsbedürftig, es funktionierte fast alles, aber alles ist teils defekt!

Wir waren nur eine Nacht auf der Rückreise vom Strandurlaub. Wenn ich länger bleiben würde, würde ich ein Zimmer nicht zur Straße raus buchen. Wir wussten das aber, somit alles bestens für uns. Besonders zu empfehlen ist das Abendessen, wir hatten das Menü - hervorragend :)

The hotel was not close to things to do. The room was very old fashioned. Tiles were broken and the shower head was also broken. The view was obstructed by a building site in front of the balcony.
There were only shrimps on the pizza frutti di mare. And potatoes and fennel ... a srange combination.

Leider Bauarbeiten am Balkon was natürlich mit Lärm verbunden war.
Der Fernseher im Zimmer stammt auch schon aus vergangenen Tagen. Sonst alles o.k.
