We had a great stay at APA Hotel. The hotel was very clean, the staff were polite, and check-in and check-out were quick and easy.

The location is excellent—just steps from Sugamo Station with a 7-Eleven nearby, which was very convenient.

Overall, a wonderful experience for our family of four with young kids. We would definitely stay here again.

The room is fairly small but very comfortable and has everything you need. Lots of amenities are provided in the room and it was cleaned often during our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. It’s very close to the major areas of Tokyo but the surrounding area of the hotel was also very nice to explore. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

This was the worst hotel stay in my life. The room was tiny, like on a cruise ship. Bathroom is more than tiny. There is no space in front of the bed to walk by, you can only access it from one side. You can barely turn around in the room. There are no drawers to leave your clothes in. They don’t let you check in early and check out is already at 10 am and then they encourage you to stay later and pay extra for each additional hour. There are not enough elevators. There is no breakfast included. The lobby has only four chairs total. One good thing is that metro entrance is in front of the hotel. A terrible stay, I could not wait to leave that hotel

The hotel has excellent location. Very convenient. I would say the only downside is the room was very tight for 2 people. It said you could store luggage under the bed, but that was not the case. Overall, very good property. Definitely recommend it.

It’s near by train stations. Very convenient to go any place in Tokyo.
I love the area. Jizo-dohri is just cross the street.

I hope the hotel has more laundry machines. It wasn’t available when I wanted to use, always used by other people.

Couldn't find my reservation through a 3rd party forced-first\" latest tech\" integrated system that requires somebody to assist you (🤕?!). We must've tried 8X before the other gentleman simply looked me up in their own computer! Rooms were shoe boxes ... you could at least design smarter with storage in mind. Literally NONE. Here's the kicker though ... CENTRALIZED CLIMATE CONTROL should be disclosed when booking WITH a pop-up requiring you acknowledge & agree. Woke up at 4:30am because of stuffy stagnate room with NO AIRCONDITIONING and NO FAN at least moving hot air. It was 78 degrees!!! Go down to the lobby, night auditor breaks the news \"everybody else complained that it was cold\". My arse they did, not at 78 degrees!!!

Location is excellent 5 mins fr sugamo jr station. Bed sagging on edges, pillows terrible n thin. Onsen good,. Aircond not adjustable. Breadfast variety good, but replenishment very slow. Will stay again if price is right. Good for shopping local stuff.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at this property. It was well-equipped with all the essentials and amenities we could possibly need, making our visit very comfortable. The train station was just a short walk—literally only a few steps—from the property, which made commuting very convenient. We also discovered a store similar to Walmart/Target nearby, just around the corner, which was perfect for quick grocery runs. The neighborhood is a good area for shopping, offering a more relaxed atmosphere without the hustle and bustle of crowded city centers. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely choose to stay here again in the future.

The staff were very helpful when I arrived. The check in went smooth. They are not overly nice, which I like. They will assist only when I asked, which kept my privacy pretty good. Room was cleaned every three days. Clean towels, tooth brush, yukata and others are delivered at the door every day. No nocking by housekeepers. I enjoyed the stay well. The lunch on the lobby restaurant was very good.

Very convenient location off the Yamanote line that is away from the hustle and bustle of the other stops. Room itself was actually quite small and cramp. If you had anything larger than a carry-on luggage, it would likely block the door. Stayed in a double room for reference but it was one bed not two twin beds. (It was likely my mistake in booking it - but still this room was tiny). Other than size, amenities, cleanliness and comfort of room was nice. There is also a nice public bath/onsen on the 14th floor.

This hotel is located near the Sugamo station, which provides easy access to the trains. Many local various restaurants are good. We did enjoy the stay. However, it’s quite stuffy in the hallways of the hotel. The rooms do have air conditioners which are a must in June/ July. The bathrooms are not what I expected.

The room was small and the aircon bought the smoke smell into the room (from the smokers rooms). So now all my stuff smells and needs to be washed.
The onsen is clorinated not sure if there was minerals added tbh. Signage wasn’t English. Had to put towels in the corridors to get clean towels. They don’t enter the room.
The beds are small and hard.

Great Budget Hotel in a Quiet Local Neighborhood

I’ve stayed here at least 15 times over the last ten years. It’s a great budget option for those who don’t mind smaller, no frills rooms. I like that they have a spa upstairs and it’s 2 minutes walking distance to Yamanote station. The staff here is always accommodating. Highly recommend!

This hotel was easy to checkin to. The staff were helpful, the rooms were clean and well kept.
The only negative we had which was easily turned into a positive was that each day they provided new towels and robes and toiletries but didn’t automatically remove the old ones which in a 10m2 room begins to take up room quickly.
This was easily resolved. Would highly recommend, just beware, the double room is still very small. Only 10m2, can’t have suitcases open.

The room was overall not too bad. the Onsen was very clean and it was relaxing. My only issue was when I first arrived. The room had the smell of cigarette smoke although I was sure that the room was not allowed to be smoked in. It took a few hours with the AC on and the air purifier before most of the smell was gone. The Hotel was easily accessible, and There were many shops near by to get food, snacks and drinks. The Restaurant provided an awesome breakfast buffet every morning that was delicious and filling and helped keep me energized the whole day. It was also conveniently located near the Yamanote Line which gave access to all of Tokyo's most visitor friendly spots.

This was the 4th hotel during my 16 day trip to Japan and it was our least favorite.That said, it does what you need it for but it was just hard not to compare this with the other hotels.

The positives, this hotel will probably be the easiest walks from station to hotel you'll ever get. Its located in Sugamo which is considered the \"old people\" part of town. When we arrived around 11am \"Jizodori Shopping Street\" was very lively, like a farmers market. All the locals were out selling their wares and food and it was a fun experience. Plenty of dining options around the area as well.

The negatives.
The lobby looks great but always felt kind of stuffy to me.
The front desk was hidden in the back so after you check in you basically never interact with the staff again unless you're looking for them.
The elevators, despite having the most of all the hotels we stayed at, felt very slow. The hallways of the hotel were open air, not enclosed.

The room we stayed in had stains and parts of the wallpaper coming off. The mirror was scratched up and the walls are pretty thin, we could essentially hear everything from the hotel to what was going on outside like shouting and sirens every night.

You have no control over the climate control unit in your room. The hotel staff chooses for the whole building if your unit will use AC or Heat and you can adjust that portion but for example if the hotel has it set to heat, then you can only adjust how hot. You can't switch to it cool.
