My Favorite hotel,
My only complaint was that my room’s climate control system was not working properly and my room was 82’ and stifling all night. I had to open windows to keep room temperature cooler to be able to sleep.

The front desk staff questioned our booking making us feel uncomfortable that we booked an accessible room. He seemed to accuse us of booking that room for the lower price, but I checked on hotels.com that the rooms were the same price. So he switched us to a second floor room in the obvious old portion of a very empty hotel. Although I’m not in a wheelchair, an accessible tub with appropriate hand-bars and a room closer to the front desk would have been much better for my chronic back issues. Not all disabilities are visible. We also chose this hotel for the attached restaurant which was permanently closed which is probably another reason the hotel was mostly empty. The decor in the old part of the building was quite old with stained wallpaper, but overall clean. The elevator in that part of the building was something out of the 70s. I suggest a facelift and new mattresses. I slept at the edge of a king bed so I would not be sucked into the center hole. I have no idea with such few guests why they wouldn’t give us the best rooms in the hotel.

Carpets were stained and old. The Place needs to be renovated. Bathrooms are old and cracking. Cracks in the walls. I was there for a funeral across the street so it was convenient but I would not stay there again. No coffee either in the morning. There were machines in the room and the same machine downstairs that they wanted $3.00 for coffee. Not Good!

While all other hotels in the NY area were overpriced for the dates between Christmas and New Year, this place had reasonable prices and the neighborhood covered in snow looked like a fairy tale town. It takes only 30 minutes to get to Central Park from there and it is so peaceful and quiet that I will consider it a steal. The hotel is clean and nice, thought a bit dated and half of the facilities is not working (no restaurant, no breakfast), - that's fine with me! There is a nice peaceful plaza nearby with all sorts of diners and coffeshops, so no complaints here. Overall impression: it is a nice place to stay if you're willing to drive for 30 minutes to Manhattan. Parking is free and easy!

We had a wonderful 4-day stay while visiting New York. Although the hotel is older (particularly the bathrooms), our room was spotless and very well-maintained. Cleanliness is what matters most to us!
The service was excellent, especially Steve, who was very helpful, smiling, and quick to restock our amenities like coffee and shampoo.
Getting to Manhattan is easy: the 166X bus takes you to Port Authority in just 40 minutes (the 166T is also a good alternative). A great choice for a trip to NYC.

The Clinton Hill Hotel exceeded my expectations for the price. I was expecting something more down-market, but the beds were very comfortable and the rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels provided each time. The staff were friendly, polite, and very helpful throughout my stay. The location is also a big plus — the bus to New York stops right outside the hotel and runs until 2am, so getting around was never an issue. Overall, an excellent and very pleasant stay.

Staff very courteous. Hidalgo suite room and amenities clean and well stocked. Good quality TV. Uncomfortable mattress. Room was too warm with no temp. control. Tissues and toilet paper like sandpaper and fell apart under use. Sink faucets leaking at base of handles.

The Clinton Inn location is ideal for my travel needs, but it’s a trip back to the late 1970’s. Thin walls; I heard the conversations in the next room. Was thankful the people next door didn’t stay up late.

After the first night of staying the door would not lock again. We were only there for one night as it is continently located in front of the funeral home and church. My stay in 3 months as I have had to go to tow funerals, in that time. The staff is nice and helpful, it's a 2.5 hotel. Clearly it was grand at some time past.

Called and made reservation after I booked to get a joint room. They confirmed.
Check in and they didn’t have any record of this. Thankfully they were able to correct that. But it took a while to get into the room.
Rooms were pretty old and dirty.
Visible mold or mildew in bathroom. Shower heads had that pink mold.
Location is great but it’s time they do a real renovation or sell to a chain.

The hotel is older and being renovated but overall my experience was better than I expected. We did eat in the room and saw a few scout ants on the desk. Our biggest issue was the fan noise from the air conditioner/ heater. Staff was extremely helpful getting us a different room. The gym was larger than I expected. No free weights but standard treadmill and weight machines. Great location near a lot of restaurants.

Would not recommend staying at this hotel. The decor and general public areas are tired, not updated and not so clean. Furniture is cracked or dented or chipped. There is good hot water pressure in shower however. Bathroom hasn’t been updated but decent. Staff are courteous. Plenty of parking but main issue is cleanliness.

In a Beautiful small town. Reasonable distance from NYC. Great to relax after the overwhelming NYC. The hotel is classy and comfortable. The lobby is huge and elegant , It’s clean but old. their carpet a bit dated but they are not dirty. The staff are nice. Parking lot huge. Steps to a beautiful small Catholic Church. I love this old friendly hotel, not those corporate boring big chain hotels.

Check in was easy and staff was kind. Bathroom was kind of dirty, stains on carpet. Beds were comfy. But beware - our room was soooo hot. Windows don’t open and the cooling systems didn’t work. Am they gave us a box fan but it was ROUGH. None of us slept well. We won’t stay here again.

It was from October 9th to 12th, but on the evening of the 9th, the temperature dropped, so I tried to turn on the heater, but I think it's the first time in my life that a hotel with only cold wind and no heater has been installed. It was so cold that day that I couldn't rest properly. Fortunately, the daytime temperature rose the next day, so I spent the next evening on the same day, but it rained from Saturday, so the temperature dropped again, so I had to check out the next Sunday morning, but I left the hotel early in the morning. I wish the heater came out properly, but it's too cold, so I think we need to think carefully about the next reservation.

This was not somewhere I would stay again. The check in agent, Steve, was kind and efficient. However, the room was sub-par. The bathroom was "clean" but the bathtub was peeling and stained. The cold water faucet on the sink was broken and would turn all the way around. We were able to turn it off mostly, but it would not stop dripping. The carpet was stained. There was supposed to be a refrigerator in the room. There was not. I could go on. This place needs some serious updating. I'm sure Tenafly, NJ is not a prime destination but you all could do better.

Nestled in Tenafly near shops, restaurants, etc. its conveniently located. The hotel itself is supposed to go under renovations based off conversation by personnel there, however, we have stayed twice in the past few months and have not seen any work being conducted. Hope it happens because it's a nice hotel location and overall, in okay condition.

- Avoid the Commissary:

- Hot Bagels is a 4 minute walk and has $2 or $3 coffee, don’t purchase anything from the hotel, the same snacks are a 3 minute walk away at CVS or 7-11 (open 24 hours) for half the price.

- Mr.Wok has incredible food and is also walking distance. $3 miso soup and $5 rolls. Or there is an all you can eat Japanese restaurant but the quality isn’t great.

- Avoid the laundry room. The washer gives very little water and you’ll find yourself doing multiple loads. Instead call Bergan Laundry Service - It’s cheaper and saves you time.
