Unusual architecture, lovely grounds and pool, close to Meloneras beach and pleasant 20 minute walk into Maspalomas. Buffet ok for breakfast but disappointing at dinner, food bland and lukewarm. Towels on sunbeds all day despite hotel policy of removing them.

Gaudi designed hotel. Beautiful rooms with big balcony. Swimming pools in nice cactus gardens. Coeliac Dream for food. Big thank you to the Restaurant as the Chef will walk round with you and do seperate food. Great desserts. All staff very freiendly. Fantastic H10 Hotel.

Terrible service and standard, NOT a 5 star hotel!

Our stay was pretty bad, we already got issues from day 1.

Some Staff at the restaurant were very rude & didn’t know their own policy & were giving us different directions. When we asked about something they would shrugged & said “I don’t know”!

One day we had to leave the gym because you can’t be more than 6. But we had booked via the reception & when we arrived there were only 2 other in the gym. The gym staff who was missing from her post for over an hour wouldn’t listen to us when she came back & threw us out!

The hotel is run like a circus the staff have no idea & were working in different ways. When making a complain they promised to follow up & sort it out but then the next day it was forgotten.

This is absolutely NOT a five star hotel. The rooms are very average & boring! The service is overall very poor. We even saw a cockroach once in the buffet. They keep the food under heat lamps & it makes it very dry. Breakfast was not so good either, not many choices & the eggs were not tasty!

It’s also very loud & we kept waking up by the cleaners. We said we would order cleaning one hour before but they kept knocking on our door & there were no disturb sign anywhere in the room.

We’ve been staying in few 5 star hotels nearby & the service & standard is totally different.
This is the first & last time at the H10. Please don’t stay here, it will ruin your vacation!

5 star prices for 3 star services

Unfortunately much of the hotel was shut down.

The website advertised it’s great services, and we still paid full rate for all inclusive, however it basically offered a 3 star hotel service:

- no restaurants were open, only the same buffet
- the infinity pool was closed
- gym closed
- spa closed
- sea view room could not have been further from the sea, not your normal sea room view
- no minibar
- room service at times when guests wouldn’t want it

5 Star Hotel - Really?

Overall, a disappointing experience with this hotel, which I partly blame Hotels.com for the marketing of their, so called, VIP Gold Service. We chose this property on the basis that we should get a free upgrade and late checkout, albeit, subject to availability. I understand that busy hotels cannot always offer this, however, you would expect a commensurate alternative incentive to be offered in the event that the hotel was full e.g. a complimentary meal in their 'a la carte' restaurant instead of the cheap bottle of Rioja which was left in the room on arrival (with no corkscrew to open it!).
As for the hotel itself, I'm not sure how it can consider itself to be a 5 star property when there are a number of 4 star properties in the vicinity e.g. Lopesan Villa del Conde, which I would consider at least as good as this one.
Some examples of issues include:
Wifi - only available in your room once you have gone back to reception to ask for the code!
No Kettle in the room. Again, you have to go and ask for it.
Dining options are very limited. They only offered a buffet service on HB. Even upgrading to their Privilege service meant you only got 50% off in their A La Carte restaurant.
I checked some other 5 star properties in the resort and most offered multiple dining options e.g. Riu Meloneras Palace.
I would say, however, that the service staff were very friendly and helpful.
Would we go back to Meloneras? most definitely
Would we stay at this property? most definitely not

Staff extremely friendly and courteous. Convenient and close to the beach and boardwalk. Plenty of options to eat. The all in-clusive was good. Different menu every night. Although eating outside the property would be less expensive and also equally as good. The nightly shows on the property were fantastic. The New Year’s Eve night was also something to remember. Staff was great and very accommodating. Would definitely be back.

From check in to check out the customer service was great, special mention to Gerado in Reception and Carvello in the restaurant. This hotel is lovely and clean and the pool area, sunbeds were nicely spaced out, staff were all friendly and work hard and the food was fab!

Only stayed for two days, was an anniversary treat,was a bit disappointed at check in desk,I had asked for a room on the ground floor or even close to a lift and amenities,( I suffer from copd and find it difficult to walk any distance) I was told that we were close to amenities,but in fact we were on the fifth floor and a bit of a walk to our room,also quite a distance to the restaurant! not knowing the layout of the hotel I wasn’t aware I could have been closer to restaurant,pool,and bars! I didn’t complain to staff being as we were only there for the two nights and luckily I wasn’t feeling too bad.
I wondered if perhaps the checkin staff hadn’t looked at my special request,if so they need reminding to check !!

Stayed here for five nights B&B - very good breakfast choices, including eggs & omelettes cooked to order - twin beds were firm but comfortable, however the sofa in the room was a bit too deep for my bad back. Every room has a terrace which faces south to west, and there are two pools, and plenty of sun loungers. This hotel is out on its own, in a quiet area, and beach access is not easy - too many stairs - and the seafront shopping centre has only four restaurants/cafes, so if you are not staying all-inclusive, it is a 20 minute walk to reach the better selection of restaurants and shops near the lighthouse.

Beautiful hotel. Just got back from a short stay with my friend. Lovely sea view balcony deluxe room. Very clean and comfortable. Staff were so helpful, courteous and accommodating. Always with a smile. The hotel had various pools and a fantastic thalassoSpa for a charge of €15 for the day. Massage was amazing. The half board breakfast and dinner buffet in the non al a carte general restaurant was varied and very satisfying. Good selection of non veg and meat. The grounds were so well taken care of and the atmosphere peaceful. Such a convenient gateway out onto the seafront walk which lead to the historical lighthouse town. Amazing views. The only small shortcoming was that a deluxe room didn’t come with tea making facilities. The front desk provided cups and a kettle on request and I had my own tea bags so that was easily sorted. Overall a superb hotel and comfortable stay beyond our expectations and definitely will come here again.

A nice hotel with lots of rooms. A bit confusing when trying to find one's way, since everything seems to be on different floors and in different buildings. Overall nice, but super touristy. The location is somewhat off of the main beach, but it is on the beach promenad (at the north end). No stores or anything nearby, but that might not be what those staying at this hotel are looking for. I had a very nice stay.

I loved this resort. It was probably my favorite that I’ve ever been to. I’m a female and traveled alone. I felt completely comfortable and safe the entire time. There are a lot of pools, all of which are large and amazing. There are also plenty of chairs to lounge on while you enjoy them.

The food was wonderful. Each meal was well prepared and there were lots of options. I can be a picky eater sometimes, but I really liked it. I did half board and found that it was enough for me because the breakfast and dinner was so large and filling. So if you don’t need to eat at regular intervals, halfboard may work just fine for your too.

I also recommend a massage at the spa! Wonderful!

The only three less than perfect things were that:

1. The day that I arrived, the sky was filled with thick dust from Africa. This happens regularly there and made it so that you couldn’t even see the sea. The hotel is clearly not to blame for this, but it would help if they explained what was happening when you check in. I had to search google to figure it out and then had to explain it to other guests who were also concerned. If you have breathing problems or asthma, this might be an issue for you.

2. 2 of the 3 mornings I was there, housekeeping woke me up loudly trying to force my door open. I had put the do not disturb sign up the night before, but I guess it fell off. It was a scary way to be woken up!

3. I had to wait in line for 27 min to checkout.I almost missed my shuttle

Room= perfect. Bed good, A/C good,cleanliness good, view good.
Hotel= perfect. Every member of staff from management to cooks, cleaners, pool staff, animation team all made an effort to talk to us. They all looked happy and friendly.
Pool=perfect. Clean, well patrolled by pool staff. Beds clean and no really any towels left on beds.
Cost=perfect. You get what you pay for and I would be the first to complain if I thought that costs were too high. Obviously I would like a cheaper holiday but this was the best overall 'hotel' holiday experience I have had in 40 years of holidaying abroad.
Food costs=perfect. We were half board. We tried eating in a bar 'off site' once but the food in the hotel pool bar was excellent and not too 'pricey '.
The staff were all happy and this was reflected in every part of the holiday experience. The hotel management should note this because if it changes the service will not be as good

An amazing 5 star hotel! This hotel has the highest level of comfort and amenities. It is spacious and welcoming. I particularly liked the difference between the adult and the child centred areas around the hotel. The infinity pool was outstanding. Rooms were large and well furnished with very comfortable beds. However, top of the pile was undoubtedly the food - amazing! The dining room and bar staff were professional, efficient and smiling at all times! This hotel really is of the highest standard, and we will definitely return. P

Excellent hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was unbelievable with so much choice and plentiful. Room was large with a lovely view of the swimming pool and the sea beyond. First class entertainment shows every night. We were on B&B so we ate once in the buffet restaurant. The food was good with lots of choice. Everywhere in the hotel is spotlessly clean. The infinity pool is very warm like a bath. The other pool is slightly cooler. Plenty of sun beds to go around no need to reserve one! I would definitely stay here again.

Escape from the Beast

We stayed for a week in mid March to get away from the UK snow and ice and find some sun and warmth. The hotel was excellent with a comfortable and clean room, located in a quiet spot on the sea front. We stayed half board and the buffet breakfast and evening meal were very good. The evening meal menu changed every night and there was a wide range of good quality food to choose from. The week was basically lazy days at the pool - the infinity pool was a good size and overlooked the sea, and we didn't struggle to get sunbeds. The hotel's bars were nice places to relax in, with plenty of cocktails and wine to choose from. There was evening entertainment in the hotel every night, some of which was good, some a bit corny - but the Queen tribute band went down a storm. Plenty of restaurants, bars and shops within easy reach along the promenade - about a mile to a lighthouse and a mile beyond that to get to the amazing sand dunes. Finally a word for the staff who were excellent - always keen to help, and the maids kept the bedroom spotless and topped up with some chocolates nightly. An excellent week, at a very nice hotel.

This is a very clean and modern hotel. There are two pools to choose from and both are well maintained. The hotel staff both at reception and the restaurants are attentive and friendly. The location is a 20 min walk from the main promenade but it’s a pleasant walk along beside the beach. The only disappointment was room service. I often had to ask for things twice and took an average of 20-30 mins to arrive. Also, don’t expect the food in the buffet restaurant to be great. It’s just ok.

Everything was great as always . The only downside was my first (and last) drink I ordered from the infinity pool bar . Was looking forward to having piña colada like I had 2 years ago but my drink came from a plastic bottle already premixed and it had no alcohol in it. The waitress reassured me it had contained alcohol but it definitely didn’t .

It was a very nice hotel although not quite up to what I would consider 5 stars.

The main issue for us was that we had booked half board although full board was also available and the issuing of drinks was linked to a bizarre ticketing system so you would sign for your drink, either paid if you were half board or included if you were all inclusive and were given a receipt that just proved that you signed for it but there was no indication of what the cost would be.

Therefore after an 11 night stay we had amasses quite a few receipts!

I think you're meant to use them to check your bills when you check out but with no prices on the receipts it's a bit of a pointless exercise!

Rather than have a distinction between half board and all inclusive it would be better to have one standard, say all inclusive.

You could upgrade your half board to all inclusive but that would cost you €50 per day per person which is very excessive!

In addition to Full Board there were also Privilege Guests which seem to be the equivalent of getting the \"key to the executive washroom\" in \"Are You Being Served\". Seemingly entitling you to a black towel rather than a blue one and the ability to eat in the \"Executive Dining Room\" or Al Fresco.

The food was OK although the labelling was a bit hit and miss and at times the service at Dinner was very slow as there never seemed to be enough waiting staff on duty to serve you drinks, which considering it was a self service buffet is a bit anachronistic!

It is its own complex, with multiple pools, spa facilities and views are brilliant. Breakfast had a huge selection, I can be quite picky with food abroad but the breakfast was lovely. Wifi very temperamental in the rooms, however worked well in the hotel lobby.
Hemmingways is a restaurant just on the front of beach, outside the hotel - definitely recommended too. Would stay again, thank you for a holiday to remember x

Great location but not 5 star

Great location near Playa Meloneras and a nice coastal walk to Faro with great food and drink, entertainment and shopping options.

Site food options are pretty restricted as 'all inclusive' only gets you free access to the buffet and pool side snack restaurant. You get a 50% discount on the Gaudi restaurant, which is better quality with waitress service. There is however a limited choice of 2 starter, main and dessert options. I would avoid booking this before 9pm on the terrace as the kids disco may drown out any romantic atmosphere.

The pool side restaurant: Good for things like pizza, club sandwiches and salads.

Buffet restaurant: Good varied choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some theme nights were interesting. The dinner menu seemed to rotate weekly. We were a little bored by day 9 so choose to eat out at our own cost.

We ate out in Meloneras at the Cafe Del Mar inc. a show and a few steak restaurants for around 100 euro a couple.

Hotel facilities:
The pools were nice, clean and well balanced between family and couples. We went in peak Aug season and it never felt too crowded.

The gym was adequate with basic aerobic and weight lifting machines. I tended to go around 5pm and was half full.

The spa included free access to the large multiple jacuzzi pools, steam and sauna rooms. I used these once as it was pleasant enough and not crowded. I would imagine these get busier in cooler months.

Treatments are not included, but are reasonably priced.

A wonderful relaxing stay in a hotel of two halves

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights half board in a standard double, the holiday was very pleasant with good hotel facilities. Three choices of pools with plenty of loungers available, our favourite was the infinity particularly as this is adults only. However I wouldn't say the hotel is 5*, unless you opt for the Privelege upgrade. The Gaudi restaurant menu which we sampled on two nights was exceptional, with superbly attentive staff. Mirror this with the buffet which catered for hundreds of guests and the staff had barely time to stop and say hola. Ring-fenced outdoor areas for Privelege members also creates an odd feeling to the place. The myriad of stairs, levels and walkways is a bit confusing to begin with, but understood once you realise the hotel descends from street level to the beach. Throughout our stay we came across many exceptional members of staff, including those on reception who helped arrange a wonderful birthday for my wife - a fantastic day for her. In summary, a good hotel with nice outdoor areas, however the two-tiered (Privelege and non) tries to appeal to two sections of the market but perhaps falls slightly short in both.

Fabulous relaxing holiday

We had a lovely stay at the H10. Kind and helpful staff, good food, excellent cocktails and lovely hotel grounds. The Spa is great, we had a couple of treatments and enjoyed the quiet relaxing atmosphere. Only minor complaint would be that on very busy evenings it can take a while to get a drink, but that was rare.

Nice hotel but food and spa were terrible!

We were very excited about this hotel, as the pictures of the pool looked amazing. However, we were greeted by a female member of staff who was rude and stand-off'ish. Such a shame, as the male members of staff who were checking other people in seemed friendly. We got the 'full board' option, which meant we could only eat in the buffet. Oh my - TERRIBLE! There was a lot of selection, but everything was bland and tasteless. We even saw a bug scuttling through their bread area (boulangerie). There steak area, had no steak for the days we stayed. They didn't let you use the coffee machines at lunch or dinner and they had out cheese at each meal, but barely enough crackers to go with them. The mashed potatoes were so runny that you could drink them! So so disappointing!!
The food at the poolside restaurant was ok, but we were told it wasn't included in our full board, so we had to pay extra for that! We were so sick of the food by the end of our stay, so had to pay to start eating at outside restaurants. This is not a cheap place to stay, so we were utterly shocked at the poor quality of food and lacklustre check-in we received.
We also had to pay for the spa, which looked great, but the water was cold!! We expected a hot jacuzzi and it was luke warm at best. Again, disappointing. Save your money and stay somewhere else along the beachfront!

Excellent hotel. Good selection of food plus great service. Plenty of room for sunbathing, no issues in finding sun beds around pools. A little way from night life but we preferred quieter area. Entertainment ok. Only 3 UK TV channels in room (BBC 1,2 and 4).
Stayed in Early March and weather 26 degrees.

Thanks to Davinia from reception who gave some good advice on places to see. Sonia was also great.

At 32 years, I was almost the youngest guest of the hotel and probably the only single one.

Nice hotel, great buffet, very clean.

Check in was easy although the lady on reception could have smiled a bit more and been a bit more welcoming.
The rooms were a good size, with good size flat screen TV, aircon, fridge with minibar and a nice size terrace area. Bathroom had a full bath with shower, two basinsm, toilet and bidet.
The hotel is a good size, and didn't seem too big and also it never seemed crowded. There was also plenty of space to sit.
Overall, we had a good time and would return in the future.

Impressive but impersonal 5-star hotel

The hotel has the facilities but not the style or ambiance to offer 5-star service to guests paying for \"standard\" rooms.

Once we had negotiated a relatively inexpensive upgrade to a \"Privilege\" room with a view of the beach (as against a patch of grass and a main road) and access to the intimate a la carte restaurant (as against the noisy l\"feeding frenzy\" buffet), the quality and presentation of the food improved enormously. While some staff are charming and courteous, others talked down to guests in English or German even when addressed in fluent Spanish!

We were disappointed with the hotel facilities

Some of the staff were rather abrupt but most were very friendly and they created a real holiday experience. We had dinner in the restaurant which was a dreadful. The food was very poor and I had sole which was still frozen and vegetables that were hardly edible. We were also informed that we could not get a coffee with our meal but would have to go to a bar to get one. We did not eat there again except for breakfast which was rather poor, plenty of choice but not quality. It was a surprise that we had to pay extra to go to the spa as any other five star we have stayed at this is included. It was also a shock that the none of the pools were heated which resulted in very few people using them and also the tiling round the pools were very slippery to wet feet. The single lift to the ground floor was also broken on different occasions resulting in having to climb stairs which my wife found difficult.

Not a five star hotel

AIr conditioning never worked properly all week - reception even said yes we know but that's the way it is. Fridge was warm. Maid didn't replace used toiletries every day. Double bed only twin beds pushed together so separate linen etc.
Worst thing was the dining expereince - noone managing tables effectively meaning out party had difficulty finding a table as many twosomes sat at tables for 6 or 8. The restauarant lacked ambience in the evening - lights too bright - all it needed were trays to be a canteen. Chef didn't know how to cook tuna and tried to murder most of the fish. Food was variable but disappointing. Nice bread was available in the evening but not at breakfast in the morning. A la carte restuarant not availabe to all inclusive and you had to pay extra for different lunch menu at pool.
Also no stairs at far ends of block meaning you had an unnecessarily long walk back from some pool areas - yet the fire escape signs directed you to a stairway \at the far end that had a door (suspect this might have been locked)
Plusses were that there were hardly any kids and lovely and quiet considering it was almost full. Also lots of space around the pool with plenty of sun loungers arranged well apart so good privacy. Good massage in spa too but gym/spa facilities were only included on some packages which we weren't aware of.
Evening entertainment good and varied
Beach just over the quiet small road but although a lot of sand for sunbathing the sea was very rock

Large resort hotel close to beach

Stayed for 3 days/4 nights and remained on hotel site most of the time. Ate in the hotel and found food very good with plenty of choice. Little to do outside the hotel although beach was nearby. There were only a few shops and restaurants/bars in the immediate area but a 20 minute walk would bring you to another town with more on offer. We were given a room upgrade which was appreciated. Check in was quick and efficient and we were given a glass of sparkling wine which was very welcome. Ideal hotel for a \"do nothing but lie by the pool\" break.

ANTS NEST IN MY BEDROOM!!

I STAYED AT THE H10 PLAYA MELONERAS PALACE FROM THE 2ND TO THE 8TH NOVEMBER. THE ROOMS ARE VERY DATED!! THE FURNITURE OLD LOOKING!! PLUS TV DID NOT WORK PROPERLY!! SCREEN KEPT GOING BLACK AND THERE WAS ONLY ONE ENGLISH SPEAKING CHANNEL. THE HOTEL IS 3 STAR NO WAY 5 STAR!!!! THE FOOD WAS 3 STAR!! FOUND AN ANTS NEST IN MY ROOM!! WHEN I ASKED TO CHANGE ROOMS THE RECEPTIONIST SAID \"WHY?\" HE SENT THE CLEANER WHO SPRAYED PEST CONTROL CHEMICALS IN MY ROOM AND LEFT!! I AGAIN ASKED TO CHANGE ROOMS AND WAS REFUSED!!! THE RECEPTION STAFF ARE VERY RUDE AND UNWELCOMING!! NO SMILES NOTHING WHEN I ASKED FOR THEM TO PRINT MY BOARDING PASSES OUT FOR RETURN FLIGHT THE FEMALE RECEPTIONIST SAID IT IS THE WEEKEND AND IT WOULD TAKE TOO LONG!!! WHEN I EXPLAINED IT WOULD TAKE 1 MINUTE TO PRINT OUT SHE BECAME AGGRESSIVE AND RUDE FROWNING!!! I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!!
