Booked a 6 bed villa for 3 of us. 2 double bedrooms, 2 baths, lounge all clean and comfortable. Suitable for 4 but not great for 6 as 2 have to sleep in the lounge.

The food is really bad, low quality cheap ingredients cooked badly. Same food every meal, very bland served in a noisy school canteen type room pics attached.

The pool area is good until the gardeners start and the shockingly bad entertainment team ruin everyone's day. They can't understand that when the PA is set to max volume you don't need to scream into the mic. They are all talentless, intrusive and clearly don't realise that when no one wants to participate they should stop, videos attached put volume on.

Watch out for an issue at reception. They run 2 credit card machines from 2 different banks. Even when you pay in euros one of the machines charges in GBP and adds a 7.9% markup.

Good location - good for families

The resort was busy and the staff in the restaurant in particular overworked. We had often finished our dinner before the staff took drink orders. The food was good quality - always freshly cooked meat and fish , salads and vegetable, cheese as well as theme nights.

Queues at reception the norm- we checked in late and were scarcely shown a map of where the room was.

The entertainment was not to our taste but difficult to avoid due to in being in the restaurant in the evening . Kids rule here - running around the bars with little care for others .Teenagers we paid full adult price for but with no effort to entertain them .

The location is fantastic with access to the dunes adjacent

The rooms were cleaned to a high standard and spacious if dated. Lots of hot water and towels.

I liked the good location near the beach and seaside. Excellent location to start for cycling. The suite was spacious. We had a problem with a leakage from the tap bath, however the staff were very good in sorting this out.
Food was great.. plenty of food variety, also good fresh fish every night was on the menu!

Muy buen hotel. Buffet mejorable.

Las habitaciones e instalaciones del hotel están muy bien. Habitaciones muy amplias, con saloncito y limpias.
Como punto de mejoría, solo destacaría la calidad y variedad del buffet. Los desayunos quizás cuentan con más variedad, pero las cenas no estaban al nivel de un gran hotel como este.
Aún así, disfrutamos mucho de la estancia.

The second time in this hotel. The hotel has an ideal large landscaped area with lots of greenery and swimming pools. The waterfront can be reached in 15 minutes. This time, upon checking in at the reception, we received an improvement in booking from half board to all-inclusive. Heated pools.
Only one minus - in the bungalow there was no heating.
The air conditioning system did not give heat. It was not critical, but sometimes in the evening there was not enough heat.

Great value!

This hotel exceeded expectations, the room was spacious, pools very clean and the grounds kept in an immaculate condition. The complex is so huge it never feels too busy or crowded and it helps having so many pools too! The staff were helpful, very hard working and efficient and the food was excellent, well prepared with so much choice to suit all tastes. We liked the little touches such as the decorations and drinks for Valentines Day and courtesy bus for the beach. This is pretty much the perfect place to stay for young families. The hotel is also easy to find from the airport and is ideally situated next to the GC1 and as such is an ideal base to explore Gran Canaria although there isn't a great deal to do in the immediate vicinity of the hotel - just the Dunes and a local shopping centre.

Very good resort. Excellent food.

My only critical feedback is that our suite was in need of some routine maintenance which would have further enhanced our visit and increased my rating of the facilities. That said, we were upgraded free of charge to a larger suite due to resort occupancy and were very grateful for the hard work of all the staff. Our stay at the resort was excellent value for money.

Perfect family hotel

We were amazed at how fab this hotel was! We just returned from 7days with our 16month old. The suites are private and you have a little Terrence and stretch of garden to play in. The pool is big and heater which was great for the baby! There was always free sunbeds. You are a 15min walk from a silky Sandy beach, or a quick shuttle ride. There's great resteraunts by the sea too! The food at Dunas has a different theme every day (Italian, Chinese, Spanish, international, Canarian, Mexican) it is plentiful and there is lots of choice maybe 10 possible mains. The salads were incredible and changed everyday! Breakfast too had lots of choice. The staff there are so helpful always saying hello and playing with our little one! She loved Juan Antonio the porter and Fran in the restaurant were so kind to her! The place is very clean. The entertainment team are fun and not pushy at all. We didn't go to the disco but it sounded great! There is an on site supermarket and little cafe that's great for lunch. We really enjoyed the cocktails pre dinner at Taste bar! Our little one loved the playground which is one big sand pit! She was too young for the mini club but went every morning to colour in! Everyone is so friendly we are considering going back next Easter it was that good! When daughter is older she will love it as there is lots to do for the children! I'd say the guests are mostly German/French very little English which we liked! Thank you dunas for a great stay!

Asked for cot but was ignored. Buffet in 1070s style grotto with food lacking authenicoty and quality and awful lack of vegetarian choice. Clckroaches dlyinf i to eoom theoufh ventilation and instead of moving us they just apraued thw room with toxic spray without consideration of me staying with pregnant wife and toddlers. Claimed they had no space even in their other hotels which was not true. Subsequently moved us to a other hotel with the suite in that having a dangerously open staircase.

After reading previous reviews we were slightly unsure but it was nothing like they said. Staff we very friendly and helpful. We asked to change rooms as it was close to the kids pool and they were very unstanding, we'd come away without our children and didn't want the noise!
Our room was lovely, clean, spacious and had a nice little terrace to enjoy a drink on.
The food was fantastic, something to enjoy at every meal time. Only problem on the Saturday night was the que! We waited for it to die down but it was mental!
Overall the hotel and our weekend away was amazing and very relaxing. We recommend this hotel and we can't wait to book again.

Everything was excellent, but as an older adult couple we found the dining room was far to noisy, with children screaming and running around while one was trying to eat. Would have been helpful if the description had stated family holiday centre, we certainly would not recommend to friends and will not be returning Shame!

Villas very clean , cleaned daily. We did report a bulb not working in our villa on the Wednesday which had not been replaced when we left on the Saturday.
The food was very good and lots of choice. Polls very clean and the gardens well kept and no litter.
Staff very pleasant and helpful. The entertainers were very good with the children.

Overall very good although we were charged twice for use of a safe having initially paid for it and then additionally having it charged to our room after they verbally assured us that this would not happen. We should have insisted on a separate receipt when we paid for it on day one but we trusted them to get it right. They didn't.

Quality Resort - But ....

Dunas Suites Maspalomas is a fantastic resort to stay at for a holiday, but if you're here, as I was, for a mixture of work and down-time there were a few frustrating (money raising!) issues that in 2014 shouldn't be happening in a quality resort like Dunas - No ironing boards to do your own ironing (you can borrow an iron, but no boards) however there was an in-house laundry service! WiFi is a small € fee per day but you can only connect to one device at a time - I had an iPad, iPhone and a laptop and wasn't going to buy 3 codes! Plus the login system Dunas use didn't allow my Apple devices to remember the login codes, so every time my iPhone or iPad went into 'power save' (ie every 5 minutes of non-use) I had to re-enter the long non-user friendly codes. Finally, no kettle in the room but you could purchase a drink from the pool bar if you weren't on all-inclusive. That said the food / restaurants were excellent, staff very friendly, amenities excellent and very well maintained. I know I'll be returning so brought membership to their Dunas Rewards Club (a small one-off € fee) and would not hesitate to recommend the resort to my friends or family for their next stay.

This is a beautiful hotel.

A lovely hotel, which was was very busy due to half term family breaks which was understandable as this was the type of break we were having.
The standard suite was lovely very clean and perfect for the three of us.
The Animation were the best I have ever seen. They worked relentlessly ensuring that evryone was having a great time and their shows were superb.

The hotel and complex are very nice with 5 swimming pools. The food was very nice if just a little bit repetative. The staff were nice and friendly and the animation team were good fun and put on some good entertainment as well as the professional entertainment in the evening.
If I was being picky, I would highlight that we paid a lot through Expedia to stay here at Easter and I was then charged 12 euros to use my room safe which I thought was not really on and sometimes there were not enough sun beds.
I would stay here again, though it is very nice.

Excellent staff compensate for dated rooms

The hotels needs a make-over. Rooms are tired and are 'late 90s' at best in terms of quality. We transferred from a 1 bed suite to a 2 bed bungalow as the initial room was too small and not well located. The staff we incredible in their attempts to ensure that all the family (my 2 young sons included) were as satisfied as possible. Marco and Gloria at the Bungalows reception deserve special credit. The buffet food is done as well as it can be when catering for large groups but is 3 star quality at best. Animations and mini/max club staff work very hard to provide a mix of entertainment and activities.

Quiet and good location. Went without kids, but there were plenty of activities for children all day long. Reception staff and restaurant staff very nice, there was no language barrier issue.
The gardens around the hotel and in front of each suite made you feel like home, not at a hotel. Definitely would choose this hotel instead of a crowded building-hotel.
My only \" complaint\" would be that the cleaning lady never cleaned any surfaces, like TV table, in the bathroom around the sink, mirror table, etc. After a couple of day the dust was visible in the whole room and I did not find it sanitary the was it looked.
Bus station right at the corner of the hotel, the easy access gives you opportunity to ride around the whole island. Beach at 10-15 min walking along a dry river, but hotel offers complimentary shuttle bus to the beach as well.
Overall it is a nice place, definitely would return.

The hotel is roughly a 10 minute walk from Maspalomas Beach. It is a complex which is family friendly so when I visited (February 2013) there were more families there than couples or singletons. The food is a Buffet and the quality is quite good with plenty of variety. My accommodation was an Apartment with a living room/Kitchenette, Bathroom & a Bedroom. It was clean and good value for money. I found the staff to be friendly & helpful. I would stay there again and recommend it to others.

Good holiday for a young family.

Great hotel apart from a shortage of sun loungers by the pool. Most mornings we were too late, that is around 9:00am, to secure a sun lounger for the day. The staff were helpful and friendly. There was a wide selection of food which was good.
We enjoyed our family break which was very restful.

This is a good family resort 20 min walk from the ocean. The area inside the resort is nice and clean and the staff is helpfull.

The buffet is also good and a great variety of vegetables and meat/fish from day to day.

Some dissapointment: The swimmingpool is too cold (same experience last year on Parque Cristobal) and only possibl to use for a short swim especially for kids.

The Wifi system offer is bad, unstable and work only in the lobby. Check out Dunas Wifi which is operated by somebody else.

Had an excellent stay at the Dunas Suites and Villas. I found the entire grounds to be clean and the staff to go above and beyond for anything that one needed. I particularly enjoyed the full and big breakfast buffet, and Dinner that was included. The food was excellent. The pools are top notch and the area of Maspalomas was great. I highly recommend this over Playa Ingles which is loud and busy.

This was the second time that we have chosen this hotel and we were not disappointed.
The room is big and clean, the surranding and the gardens are fantastic with many different pools. If you can't stand small children don't chose this hotel as it is favorit place for families. The food (HB) was also fine, maybe a bit more variety would be good.

Great hotel for families, not for couples

I would have been very pleased with this hotel if I had small children. Although there was a sign by the entrance saying \"families welcome\" or something similar, I hadn't picked up on that when I booked in a hurry, I should probably have done more research. It is an ideal place for families, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone travelling without children. Although the rooms were very nice (although some of the furniture was a bit tired) the walls were thin and we could hear every child's cry, every phone ring, every shower being taken. The food was really very good considering the numbers they are catering for and the staff were fantastic, always smiling, working so hard through every meal, they never stopped running around being polite and friendly to everybody. But don't expect a quiet meal when surrounded by high chairs! The location was ideal for us, we walked to the beach and to all the restaurants nearby (we gave up our pre-paid dinners and ate out instead for 5 of our 7 nights). Although we had a car, we could have managed without one in this location and parking at nearby restaurants and shopping was more of an effort than the easy walk around the area. All in all we had a good week in spite of being woken very early every day! The staff were the best I have experienced in a long time and the food was excellent. Although we won't be staying here again, I would certainly recommend it to families wanting an easy and fun holiday.

The suites were a good size and clean however the layout (in blocks of 4 suites) means that sound does travel between the rooms. Also depsite being a couple without children we were allocated a suite opposite the kids club (and the hotel was not full).
There was plenty of choice on the food at meal times.
The location was convenient and it was an easy (flat but c1.5km) walk to Maspalomas beach and there are commercial centres close by.
Overall it was a good hotel and you did not feel on top of each, exactly what you would expect from this kind of hotel in Gran Canaria.

We stayed in the Dunas suite and i have to say the friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism of the staff was first class, they are a credit to their managers and the hotel. The animation staff also worked very hard and it was clear the hotel made a real effort to provide a variety of entertainment, we stayed 14 nights and there was a different show each night. Where the entertainment was a bit light was in the evening for the older teenagers, although there was activities in the daytime for them.

The restaurant was very good, you were met at the door and escorted to the table, you had the choice of ordering a glass, half bottle or full bottle of wine - fantastic service.

Where the hotel let itself down was the state of the main pool area - there were missing tiles and it needs a refurbish, the spa in the main pool area was also out of action. The sunloungers were also a little tired and some offered little support. If the hotel could refurbish the main pool area and replace the sunloungers with upgraded versions - this would be the icing on the cake.

Beach is very good, but you need to turn left and walk minutes, although be warned this will take you to the nudist/gay area but there was still space for family privacy. For a pleasant evening stroll turn right at the beach and that will take you to a nice promenade along the sea which leads to the next resort.

The funfair a 10 minute walk from the hotel in the opposite direction to the beach is also a good night out.

Op eerste gezicht ziet het er prima uit. Mooi complex. Echter de suite was te klein voor groot gezin en er ook niet op uitgerust. Daarnaast wat achterstallig onderhoud. Een kleine kitchenette was fijn geweest.

Struttura con un rapporto qualità prezzo molto alto, nel complesso ci siamo trovati bene anche se la struttura a mio avviso ha ampi margini di miglioramento. Il villaggio è molto bello e ben tenuto, le camere sono grandi e confortevoli, la pulizia iniziale ha lasciato un po' a desiderare, da rivedere l'aria condizionata che non è regolabile e/o introdurre dei sistemi di sicurezza che ti consenta di dormire con le finestre aperte. Il ristorante è di cucina internazionale, non male. Se non si hanno troppe pretese un buon posto per alloggiare.

Stort och rymligt hotellområde med flera pooler (uppvärmda). Stora och fina rum på marknivå, med egen terrass. Väldigt bra ställe för familjer med barn då aktiviteter och lekytor är många. Lugn och skön stämning och många solstolar vilket gör att det är enkelt att hitta sitt egna utrymme. Trevlig personal och ca 20 min promenad ner till krogarna vid Meloneras.

Sehr schöne Anlage, (je nach Lage des Zimmers , können die Fußwege lang sein)! Nur ca 10 Minuten zu Fuß zum Strand (Oasis) ! Personal sehr freundlich. Zimmer sehr sauber.(Leider keine Kaffeemaschine im Zimmer) genervt war ich von den Animateuren am Pool ( waren immer höchstens 10 Leute die mitgemacht haben und der Rest der Gäste musste leiden ) Super gratis parken vor der Anlage ! werde wieder kommen, mit Ohrstöpsel für den Poolbereich (jammern auf hohem Niveau). Sehr schöner Aufenthalt war’s insgesamt !

Vackert hotell på lagom avstånd till stranden

Mycket trevlig vistelse på det vackra hotellet. Att poolerna var uppvärmda var en oväntad bonus. God frukost, bekväma sängar, fin uteplats. Bra kök, som vi i och för sig aldrig behövde använda.

Terrible serviece, room condition and cleaning.

After more than 30 years of traveling, we never complain, but this was horrible. The room wasn't close to clean, there were aunts and spiders everywere, the electronics did not work, the cupboard door fell of, the room key stopped working all the time and worst of all; the service was by far the worst we have experienced in every aspects. We were met by unfriendliness, moaning, information that they were understaffed and all the time promises that wasnt kept. The cleaning stations in the restaurant is placed in the middle, so it is so noicy you have to scream to hear each other. They cleared the table every time we went to supply some addition to our breakfast, the staff is very stressed and in general unfriendly. We had planned to stay for 16 days, but after 13 days we purchased new flight tickets and went home earlier than planned. The standard of this hotel, is in our opinion very far from 4 star in our experiences traveling world wide. In additon the service level is bottom point, so until the hotel and staff have solved this, we recomend to try another hotel in Maspalomas/Playa del Ingles.

Una estancia corta de 2 n9ches, pero me encanto el hotel. Soy resudente en Canaria y he probadi muchis establicimientis llos ultomos 15 años. Y es uno de la categoria que ha retenido mi atención . OK pakke-rejse hotel i all-inclusive område

Et dobbelt-hotel meget fokuseret på familier med små børn og all-inclusive pakkerejser.

* Placeringen er ca. 1 km. fra strand og strandpromenade. Ca. 300 m. til Maspalomas Dunes naturområde (strandklitter).
* Meget stort (300+ rum), men alt i eet plan.
* Udendørs områder pæne
* Pools opvarmede, men \"kun\" til 21 grader => meget få der brugte dem
* 2x små vandland \"på land\". Ingen vandrutchebaner eller andet. Godt for små børn.
* Daglig entertainment, lagt an på børn i alderen 4-10 år. Nærmere 4 end 10.
* Hotel-stil lidt 90'er-agtig. Virkede dog ikke slidt
* Meget få skandinaver. Mange englændere / tyskere / hollændere.
* Villa viste sig at være 1/4 bungalow med meget trist spare-belysning indendørs og begrænset varmt vand.
* Villa havde fint køkken (til forskel fra Suiterne der var uden køkken).
* Half-board = buffet morgen og aften. Variation meget begrænset..
* På trods af at det var \"fuldt booket\" da vi var der, virkede resortet relativt tomt.
* Ikke noget at se i Maspalomas. Mange store all-inclusive resorts med få aktiviteter udenfor resorts => begrænset med restauranter og \"spansk hygge\" i nærheden. Intet autentisk spanskt i Maspalomas.

Overall - fint nok, men meget langt fra lige så lækkert som et 4-stjernet hotel i Thailand.,

L'établissement est bien situé, proche de la plage de Maspalomas. Il est adapté aux familles avec enfants. Le domaine est calme. Le restaurant est très bruyant, des files d'attente se forment pour se servir (par exemple aux machines à café, lait...) et les assiettes manquent souvent à l'appel. Le bar de la réception n'est pas ouvert et donne une impression de vide sur la première terrasse au-dessus du restaurant et pourrait être mieux utilisé en cette période.

Härligt boende i fin miljö

Ett härligt hotell med bungalow-boende av bra standard. Vi bodde 2 vuxna och 2 tonåringar i bungalow med två rum och vardagsrum. Gott om plats för alla!
Många poolområden att välja mellan på anläggningen, något för de allra minsta barnen till lugnt och avkopplande för vuxna. Överallt grönt och lummigt och rent och fint.
15 min enkel promenad till Maspalomasstranden eller till Meloneras strandpromenad.
Vi testade massage och gym på hotellet och var mycket nöjda.
Matsalen är tyvärr ganska stökig och ljudnivån är hög.
Vi hade valt halvpension och bytte nästan alla dagar bort middagen mot lunch.
Om vi kommer tillbaka kommer vi att boka med enbart frukost.

Dans l ensemble bien situe et personelles Ok. Mais la Piscine dégeulasse des cheveux gavés dans les filtres !!!! Nous sommes minimum 4 ADULTES à avoir chopés une Otites, moi c est la premiére fois en 53 ans!!!! Pour la nourriture c était correct, en revanche les patisseries INFAMES (ils utilisent de la margarine immangeable pour un Français. Quand à la chambre privilégié le bas de l hotel car le haut les chambres sont plus vieilles et pas climatisés! Pour ma part les sommiers étaient défoncés, 4 pieds sur 6 et complètement branlant (J'ai du dormir 7 nuits par terre voir photo) car aucune réaction de l hotel ,malgré mes 3 demandes à différents services. Bref je dirait que la note de l hotel serait de= 70/100%

Mooi resort , vriendelijk personeel , kamers niets op aan te merken , ontbijt goed , lunch en diner daar is maar een woord voor zeer slecht ! De formule all inclusieve klopt ook niet , voor veel drankjes moet bij betaald worden en dat zijn echt geen bijzondere dranken en of wijnen en koffies . Persoonlijk zal ik niemand aanraden voor dit resort te kiezen. 325 euro voor dit resort is veel te veel !

Camera molto lontana dalla sala ristorante/colazione...andavamo in auto perchè dall'interno a piedi era molto labirintico. Le piscine non erano sicuramente a 30 gradi come indicato. Il cibo a cena di media qualità. Personale molto cordiale.

We waren op basis van all inclusief (met z'n tweetjes, hoewel het overigens ook leuk is voor jonge gezinnen)
Heerlijk bereid, en kwalitatief erg goed eten, iedere dag en ieder dagdeel weer! Ook veel keuze, en de hele dag wel wat te snaaien. Drinken ook de hele dag inclusief, zowel met- als zonder alcohol veel keuze!
Netjes verzorgd resort, met veel groen en mooie planten.
Erg vriendelijk personeel overal.
Kamers netjes verzorgd, wel een beetje aan de donkere kant, wat betreft buiten lichtinval. Voordeel was dat het 's morgens lekker lang donker bleef op de kamer, en je niet van een klaarlichte kamer wakker werd.
Zelfs buiten het seizoen leuke animatie.
Je kunt met het busje gratis mee naar het strand, maar wij liepen dit stuk (een dikke 15 minuten wandelen).
Suites & Villa's by Duans grenst aan Resort Dunas. Je mag hier gewoon doorheen wandelen, en van elkaars zwembaden en faciliteiten gebruik maken, waardoor er overal genoeg plaats was op de bedjes.
Het eiland zelf vonden wij niet erg bijzonder, wij kwamen puur om te relaxen, en dat is goed gelukt!

Kortom, wij hebben een top vakantie gehad!

Vacances en famille en août

Complexe très bien construit, beau avec beaucoup de verdure. Jumelé avec un autre hôtel, il nous a été compliqué de comprendre tout de suite que nous avions un restaurant dédié. Le personnel est très aimable, souriant et toujours prêt à rendre service. Le site est très propre. Un personnel nombreux s’affaire sans arrêt à le maintenir propre et en excellent état.
Côté repas, la nourriture et de bonne qualité sans atteindre un excellent niveau, ce qui est difficile d’atteindre dans ce genre d’établissement. Par contre, on relèvera un souci d’organisation et de logistique. Il manquait souvent des verres, tasses, assiettes et autres couverts aux buffets.
Le logement était de bonne taille, fonctionnel et propre.
Comme dans de nombreux hôtels balnéaires, il y a un manque notable de chaises longues aux piscines. Résultat: à 9:00, toutes les chaises sont occupées alors que personne n’est présent autour ou à l’intérieur de la piscine.
Autre point, nous n’avons pas trouvé que l’offre “all inclusive” valait le supplément payé. Les cocktails, vins et autres boissons inclus dans le forfait ne sont pas de grande qualité.

goed hotel tegen eerlijke prijs

was een weekend met mijn zoon bij dit hotel. Vol op zwemmogelijkheden en andere dingen te doen. Tip: neem wel all-inclusief.
Staat van hotel vind ik in de loop der Jaren achteruit gaan. Ze moeten een keer flink gaan verbouwen. Verder alles schoon en netjes

Instalación antigua que precisa de reformas

En primer lugar que lo que alquilas como Villa o Suite no es más que un bungalow exactamente igual al del complejo de al lado que es propiedad del mismo grupo y que son más baratos.

El teléfono de La habitación estaba roto y lo comunicamos y nunca vinieron a arreglarlo.

La vasija rota que no paraba de salir agua y ni caso tampoco. Teníamos que cerrar la llave de paso para evitar un gasto excesivo de agua y el correspondiente ruido para poder descansar por la noche.

La puerta de la habitación no se podía cerrar.

Cena y desayuno bien pero el almuerzo a base de perritos y hamburguesas.

El personal muy agradable y atentos en cada momento. De lo mejor de la estancia.

Das Hotel wird super gepflegt. Zimmer bzw. Suiten sehr geräumig. Das Essen fanden wir nicht so gut. Im Speisesaal war bei es wahnsinnig laut. Sehr viele kleine sehr kleine Kinder. Wir werden das Hotel deswegen nicht wieder buchen.

Ho trovato la valutazione quattro stelle un pò troppo generosa; la struttura è in buon stato e piacevole con ampi spazi e scenario; non vicina al centro necessita un mezzo privato o la navetta per raggiungere la spiaggia. Destinata ad un intrattenimento per famiglie risulta adatto per accogliere bambini anche piccoli, un pò rumoroso ed affollato per coppie. Frequentato da un turismo di livello medio.
