Ok, very dark lighting vibe and not a 5 star experience but well located with lovely pool areas. Check in took a while and no parking for guests (had to park on street a fair walk from hotel or pay €12 a day on site). Huge hotel and our room was miles from all the amenities. Ok but would choose another for the price.

Feels like you’re entering a White Lotus set. Check-in was seamless, welcome drink upon arrival and you immediately get a gorgeous earthy scent throughout the hotel. Rooms are spacious and well laid out. Several pools to take in the sun. Only recommendation would be to transform 1 or 2 of the pools to adults only.

The grounds and buildings are stunning but the service isn't close to 5 star. Rude reception and bar staff, long waits for service, constantly broken elevators and broken pool tiles that cut your feet - definitely not worth the money.

A great place for a family treat holiday. We booked a junior suite and didn’t realise that gave us access to the Unique programme - with perks like a la carte breakfast, access to VIP lounge with free drinks and snacks and Clarins toiletries amongst much more. The staff were warm and friendly and we had an amazing stay.

Vuelvo cada año, varias veces por una única razón, sus piscinas. He recomendando en varias ocasiones este hotel a familiares y amigos y creo que no volveré a hacerlo por varias razones :
1. El servicio de desayunos no está para nada a la altura de un hotel 5 estrellas. Servicio desagradable, escasez de productos y oscuridad
2. Experiencia de check-in nefasta, terriblemente lenta y staff poco detallista
3. Es un hotel para niños , si esto no te importa o es lo que buscas está bien.

Asimismo he notado el hotel más descuidado Ie otras veces. Mi habitación no tenía kettle.

En definitiva , lo único por lo que escogería este hotel es las piscinas. Los otros Lopesan de Meloneras le superan en cuanto al resto calidad precio

Definitely not a 5 star resort.

Great theming in the most part, but all of the water was out of the lakes and rivers which put a massive dampener on the experience. They were working on fixing the issue while we were there with petrol cutters creating an huge amount on noise. The staff in the restaurant were friendly, but several times when we asked for basic help (extra towels and directions for bus stop) we were met with rolled eyes and an attitude which showed they felt us a nuisance. Pools are really good, but standard situation where people were leaving their towels on beds so made it impossible to find a spot on the first few days. The hotel did try and fix this but putting notes out. Food was ok, we found any meat cooked on the griddle was poor, in some cases inedible. Beef was very tough and fish teeming with bones.

Worst problem was despite us asking on 3 separate occasions for interconnecting rooms; on booking, by email and on checkin. Only when we arrived did we find that it’s not possible due to us being a party of 6, the only interconnecting rooms they have are for 2 people per room max. With 4 children, If we’d have know this we wouldn’t have chosen this resort.

I am generally a happy traveller and seldom complain, I tend to get on with things and make the most of every situation. So it aggrieves me to write this review. There were good parts to this holiday of course, but I definitely wouldn’t stay here again nor recommend it.

Terrible service—this hotel shouldn’t be rated as five-star (or a VIP hotel on Expedia). The staff was unhelpful, the facilities were poorly maintained, and the overall experience was far below expectations. Definitely not worth the price! I’ll never stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for quality service and a true luxury experience.

Ill start off by saying this is NOT a 5 Star Hotel. 4 at best.

I booked a Superior Double Room, Terrace Room. Later switched to a different room due to the noise outside at 5:30 am every morning. (BIRD GARDEN)

Pros:
-The pool area was very beautiful, nice pool for children and adults. 10/10
-Cleaned room everyday.

Cons:
- Rooms are old, NOT sound proof, and have bad lighting.
-Shower area was dark and slippery.
-Amenities smelled like chemicals.
-WASPS/BEES everywhere around pool.
-Food was mediocre and quite expensive.
-Service for drinks/food was often slow and rude.

This hotel is truly spectacular. If you're looking for a tropical getaway without traveling too far, this place offers an immersive experience with towering palm trees and lush, warm-climate plants throughout the property. The atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve been transported to Mexico.

The rooms are spacious, with large bedrooms and private terraces that provide a peaceful retreat. The hotel itself is vast, and it takes about a day to get familiar with the layout. Despite its size, it remains a quiet and relaxing place to stay.

Amenities are impressive, including a heated pool and two beautifully designed buffet restaurants. The upstairs bar is equally stunning, with stylish decor that enhances the ambiance. Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the well-equipped gym, though it would be even better if it opened at 6 AM for early risers.

However, the food quality is inconsistent. While some meals, like the steaks, are excellent, other items—such as oil-soaked fries—miss the mark. The buffet food is often served cold, which is disappointing. The biggest letdown, though, was the cleanliness of the plates. On four out of five days, I encountered plates that were visibly dirty, making me hesitant to use them—something I wouldn’t expect at a hotel of this caliber.

Overall, the hotel has a lot to offer in terms of ambiance, comfort, and amenities, but improvements in food quality and cleanliness are needed to make it truly outstanding.

Disappointing Experience at a \"5-Star\" Hotel

I recently stayed at this hotel with my family, and I must say, it was far from the luxury experience we were promised with our full board package. The first thing we noticed was the uncomfortable bed, which made it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep. The room itself was outdated and in desperate need of maintenance, which gave it a neglected feel.

Cleanliness was another major concern. It seemed like the housekeeping staff were not doing their job properly, as we found dirt and dust in various corners of our room. To make matters worse, there were not enough towels provided, and we had to ask multiple times for additional ones. Also very cold room over night with no heating at all in whole hotel.

The food was a significant disappointment as well. The variety was limited, and the quality was poor, leaving us longing for decent meals. We felt like we were receiving minimum service throughout our stay, and it certainly did not live up to the standards of a 5-star hotel.

To top it all off, the swimming pool was freezing cold. Despite the hotel claiming the temperature was 23 degrees, it felt closer to 15 degrees, making it impossible to enjoy a swim.

Overall, our experience was far from what we expected from a hotel of this caliber. I cannot recommend this place if you are looking for a true 5-star experience. Save your money and look elsewhere!

Amazing facilities - what a place. If you want a luxury stay that’s child friendly and has delicious food then here’s your place. We stayed half board and it was more than enough for us, I think full board would have been too much if anything! Trying to find fault I would say the area doesn’t have a great deal of places to go, but lovely shops along the beach front and places to go, just not loads to explore. But there is more than enough to keep you happy at the resort with plenty of different pools and activities - if that’s the type of holiday you’re looking for it’s absolutely spot on!

Love this hotel! Our 4th time back, loads of pool choices, we stayed in a senior suite Unique. Upgrade is definitely worth it, lovely a la carte breakfast by the pool, food great in the buffet. Brilliant top floor balcony with lounger, excellent staff, will definitely be back.

Really beautiful hotel with few amazing swimming pools, great restaurants and located close to the beach. Really friendly staff and very helpful receptionists. Excellent food served in every restaurant and great selection, including buffet. Hotel very clean and nice and spacious rooms.
The only downside is that there is no parking and we had to park on the road about 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Some parking spaces on the road in front of the hotel but never available.
During our stay majority of visitors were from Germany so Sun loungers were usually all reserved at early hours in the morning…very annoying. Also people smoking by the swimming pools even though they are non smoking areas. Designated smoking areas are available near every pool but some people are just ignorant, inconsiderate of others and rude!

Todo empezó con Ariadna que nos atendió muy bien en la recepción y nos ofreció un coctel de bienvenida que estaba muy frío y delicioso, la verdad es que me quedo corta en palabras para describir este maravilloso lugar, en Baobab no vas a tener oportunidad de aburrirte empezando por las 6 piscinas que son espectaculares y ni hablar de las decoraciones de todas las instalaciones con un ambiente Africano de todo mi gusto, las actividades diarias más los shows nocturnos son re wow, con respecto a los desayunos había de todoooo mucha variedad de frutas tanto ya picadas como enteras, panes, huevos en varias presentaciones, vegetales(tomates, champiñones) frutos secos, yogures, jugos, agua, leches, cereales, dulces (tortas) muchos quesos, jamones. En fin no nos dieron los días para probar todo lo que había en el buffet. Todos los del staff siempre con una sonrisa y dispuestos ayudarte en lo que fuese necesario, también algo muy pero muy conveniente que nos gustó es que dentro del resort hay un mini supermercado abierto hasta las 9pm o 10 no recuerdo la hora del cierre, la limpieza tanto del cuarto como de las instalaciones 10/10.
Lo único negativo que igual y no es culpa del resort si no más bien de las personas que no respetan las normal fue que veías desde muy temprano la mayoría de las camas de sol ya con las toallas encima obviamente ”reservando” las mejor ubicadas y llegaban a ocuparlas después de medio día. En fin esto tampoco fue algo que opacara mis días de vacaciones.

Lovely hotel, in beautiful grounds. Lots to do. Walking distance to many bars and restaurants along the sea front.
Only fault was rooms had a musky smell. Also we did have to move rooms because our first room was located next to a heavily planted bamboo area that the birds roosted in. The noise as sun rose in the morning was unreal. Moved to a room that was not near a heavily planted area and was fine.

The hotel is pretty outstanding visually.
It really is like being transported to a tropical paradise.Great views and the size of the room was great. There was a really good pool for our toddler too.
Great choice of food at the buffet.
I was initially concerned about the price of drinks but they weren't too bad. We did also get water at breakfast and in the room with the Unique package.

One of the toddler pools was not working and there were works going on during our stay
The music at night from the bands/shows could be pretty loud and hard to sleep at times
The British tv channels do not work, apparently this is a bigger problem than the hotel and not a big deal but it would have been good to have been informed about this at check in
I was encouraged to check in in advance but I can't see how this saved any time upon arrival as I had to do it all again

I'm listing all of these things although minor as these are the things that would make it an all round 5 star experience.

Awful customer service- non-existent. Unhelpful reception staff and extremely rude upon check-in when we had an issue with our booking package. They asked for proof which we provided but said it was impossible to offer the rate at that price despite having the proof they asked for. Did not want to help or make us feel welcome in any way. Forced us to pay if we wanted the package (that we had already paid for) and said their sales team would be in until Monday so they can’t help (checked-in on Friday) and they IF we were correct they would refund us?! Would not recommend and would have preferred not to have stayed after that experience. An extremely commercial venue and expensive for what it is. A vast and soleless complex. An ok resort.

A beautiful hotel at the more expensive end of the market. Wonderful gardens and great swimming pools.

I can only comment on breakfast because we ate out in the evenings. Breakfast was very good.

The only negatives were that check in took too long, that there were no adult only areas to escape from other peoples’ children and that Lopesan have relaxed their policy to deter guests putting towels on sunbeds at the crack of dawn then disappearing until midday.

Although the property looks well-maintained, we found quite a few insects and cockroaches in our room (maybe nothing to do with the cleanliness of the hotel but its proximity to the the outside environment)

Great hotel for a week relaxing round the pools.
Architecture and design of the hotel really added to our enjoyment. Pools were the highlight - something to suit everyone, plenty of natural shade, lots of sunbeds.
Junior Suite was spacious, with comfortable bed, quiet effective air con, smart bathroom and plenty of storage space.
\"Unique\" package was worth it in particular for the calm, relaxed breakfast area and free cava at lunchtimes.
Meloneras resort has a pleasant promenade with shops/restaurants and access to a long sandy beach.

Great hotel

The hotel is modern, relaxed and beautifully designed. Food in the buffet is excellent, but lunch in the snack bars lets the hotel down. In December the pools are cold, kids didn’t want to go in, but really well designed - great layout.

If this was a flight, my experience was not quite the luxury I was expecting.
Opted for the Unique treatment but was left underwhelmed with personal service and basic amenities.
Not worth paying the extra, in my opinion.
Beautiful hotel and friendly efficient waiting staff.

The one thing that really let’s it down though is the food. Only food from the grill was hot, everything else was lukewarm at best. It was also very repetitive and sort from the buffet there was no other options for half board guests. Would expect more of a 5* hotel.

It was a pleasant experience but not exceptional. I had visited this hotel on my last trip and was delighted to be upgraded to a superior room. This time I could only afford a standard room and the difference is remarkable. My room was on the ground floor and had no views and little sunlight.

Very impressive pool area but needs improvements

Whereas this is an amazing hotel in terms of facilities , the pool areas are some of the best I’ve experienced at this price point, the hotel itself does have some flaws. The biggest issue is that the sound insulation in the rooms is non-existent, do prepare yourself to hear everything going on above, below and besides you as well as whatever’s going on outside the door. It’s a very large, loud hotel so forget about having a nice, peaceful lie in, once the running and screaming children are awake, so are you. The rooms are beautiful but far too dark, to the point where it’s difficult to see. I feel the hotel would really benefit from an adults only area, it certainly seems large enough to accommodate this. There is hardly any variation with the food so be prepared to eat the same things every day, with the exception of the carvery meat which seemed to change. Finally, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, however we’re difficult to find around the pool area when you were looking for help with service.

Overall a good stay. The hotel and rooms are in need of updating. My daughter used the kids club everyday which she loved, Alahandra, Kevin and Carlos were fantastic with the children however there was one other lady who was abrupt and rude to the children even in front of the parents.

Para el precio que se paga, esta vez me ha decepcionado bastante. La limpieza de la habitación, la cama estaba a medio hacer y no olía a limpio. El desayuno regular, poca fruta en comparación a otros hoteles de la misma categoría. Solo había un aceite de oliva y malo.

Las piscinas son lo mejor , aunque las hamacas podrían ser más cómodas. Como sugerencia, la entrada es un poco oscura para mi gusto.

Simply amazing!

We stayed in Lopesan Baobab after 3 days in Lopesan de Ville. Baobab is top of the class and my son said: \"best holiday ever\" and I can't agree more. Amazing design, service, a huge choice of food. Swimming pools are fantastic, our favourite one was with the lazy river. Jar of sangria, meloneras and pina colada were our favourite drinks from the bar menu. The greatest shiw was the circus guys, we saw it twice! Overall, thank you so much lopesan baobab team for a wonderful holiday. Its our number 1 hotel in our family rating.

Awesome resort, the interior design, pool areas and the whole African theme is amazing. Staff are very polite and helpful. Great measures in place for Covid-19, felt very safe in all hotel areas including restaurants. Nothing to complain about (except the kids pool area being closed due to Covid, which is understandable).

Hotel is amazingly maintained and the site and design are unique and beautiful. We chose the hotel for few reasons: friendly for kids: Dedicated pool with kids slides, kids club and Gym. None of these was operate and nothing was mentioned in the hotel website in advance. I think that mentioning those basic details in the hotel website is expected from a decent business. Misleading the public to think they will receive services where they are not is unfair and reflect on poor management and poor ethical conduct. Apart of the beautiful facilities (pools, gardens and cleaning) the rooms do not offer any elementary items such as: hot drinks; tea, coffee, kettle. No Shampoo, body lotion, conditioner or ear pods. In addition, dinner buffet is served in the hotel’s 2 restaurants. Price per person is 30 Euro which is not cheap at al comparing the outdoor alternatives and the food reminded us the quality of the food in our military period. Luckily, although there was no Gym, kids club or kids area, the hotel organized kid’s outdoor activities (1.5 hours in the morning and 1 hour afternoon). The staff were kid’s friendly and made the stay pleasant.

Modern hotel and decoration. Friendly staff. Good room size but double bed are not a real one as they have 2 twins put together. Big pool area with well designed exterior place. Apart from the design, I didn’t get a feeling of a 5 star hotel. It is more like a 4 star. Coffee machine missing in the room and toiletries, TV not working properly, breakfast and dinner buffet not on par with other 5 star hotels. Focus on the looks but can improve on the content.

The hotel was excellent and it felt like an adventure. There are a few different areas to the hotel grounds, which are great to wander around. I'd recommend for couples or business trips where you want to be very comfortable. Local to the beach and boardwalk too.

Very pleasant stay at the Lopesan Baobab, recommended. Beautiful hotel, rooms and bathroom are good, the entire staff was always super polite and kind (from the cleaning team to the reception to the restaurant team to the vendor running car rental service). There are more swimming pools that we could know in a week :) Family friends - the was a mix between older couples and families with younger kids.
Appreciated having 2 gyms in the hotel (a free one, basic hotel gym) and a paid one tier1 gym, and a good offer of restaurants and shops within 5min walk.

My first time in Gran Canaria and really liked the location as the goal was to relax and enjoy the sun / beach / pools.

Walking distance to the beach and Maspalomas dunas - a big beach, not super charming but a big one, allow for long walks (downside is just it’s a bit windy) + location is convenient to go to other beaches too. It’s a 6euro 10min ride to Playa Del Ingles, or a 30euro 20min ride (each way) to the super charming Playa de Mogán (which I preferred as best beach, small, super beautiful and with a small village feeling).

Modern wheelchair accessible resort

Very nice modern and wheelchair accessible resort in walking distance from the beach walk and shops/restaurant. Good and friendly service. Good bars and great cocktails. Only drawback is that it’s hard to find sunbeds which are nor placed in sand. Best sunbeds are taken by the Unique club, but the Unique people end up occupying beds all over the area. Heated pool was very cold. Other than that a very nice experience. Not easy for people with visual impaiements because of dark walls and dim lighting.

Great Family holiday with my 16month old son, hotel really good with everything you need, couple of minor faults having to pay €12 a day to park my car and also having to pay for WiFi in a 5 star hotel not acceptable.The staff and condition of the hotel are first class tho, would definitely stay again!👍
