The rooms were clean and staff was fantastic overall, however, the first day I was there and looking for my room, the set up is so confusing alongside with the map. It is like a big maze, and I asked several staff members if they could help and they would just point but also didn’t seem to know exactly where to go as well. I was lugging around 2 heavy suitcases and felt like I was going in circles for at least an hour. Recommend having someone help with suitcases as they will also be quick to find your room at the same time.

We went to the island for work, we’ve never stayed here. From the minute we walked in we were wowed by the place. It’s absolutely beautiful, the staff were super friendly and helpful and the rooms are enormous with everything you could even need inside. The grounds are huge and also stunning. I loved the salt water infinity pool. I recommend the breakfast too, every single breakfast item you could think of, they had. The only downside was the place was so huge we got lost a few times haha. I would love to stay here again!

The hotel is in need of much investment. The rooms are old fashioned and outdated. It is under resourced in many of the service areas and sadly, nothing resembling a 5 star hotel.
Some of the staff are not particularly friendly and as witnessed on several occasions, the guests are treated poorly as \"package holiday makers\".
On one night there was a very powerful storm and the result was that our room got flooded. I managed to mop all the water up that came through the window gaps, using every towel available. I spoke to the reception about this the following morning and the response was \"so how many new towels do you want?\" Not what I would call customer service!
Many further points I could add but time doesn't permit!

Fine if you get a cheap deal but not a 5 star- food for breakfast cold every morning, no matter what time you arrived for breakfast Special request made and agreed upon prior to travel on health grounds not honoured. Chairs on balcony very uncomfortable and sun chairs not too much better. However, excellent location near sea front. Some of the staff couldn’t be more helpful but customer services not unfortunately. Room is big and spacious but would really benefit from a proper fridge in the room.

This is not a 5 star property a 4 apart from the F&B that’s 2 star quality.

Lovely hotel with excellent food and service in the half board buffet. Luxury spacious hotel room with a great selection of pools and extremely clean in all areas of the hotel. Situated by the coastal path to Melanores and Maspalomas
The main downside of this beautiful hotel is some of its reception staff. On both check in and check out I found the attitude and support poor for a 5 star hotel and certainly not that you receive in the rest of the hotel.
At check in you are given a map of the hotel, which is a resort so on many levels, and told to find your room. Unless of course as I did I requested to be shown and helped with my luggage.
On check out, I was given an extension to my room stay free of charge. But on actual checking out the balance of my account had been taken from my credit card deposit without my prior checking the charge and then without offering me the opportunity to pay cash as I wanted to. It took another member of staff to credit my account and accept the cash. There are other instances when my enquiries at reception where met with members of staff stood in a huddle talking and ignoring my presence.

Ive stayed at other Lopesan hotels in the area and the reception have always been extremely helpful.

I also met another young couple checking out who experienced the check in and check out unhelpful service.

If the got this area sorted it would be a 5 star excellent hotel!

The reception staff were amazing and the property was beautiful with 3 pools to choose from as well as a separate pool for kids and another pool for UNIQUE guests. The resort was beautiful however it is easy to get lost trying to find your room. I wouldn't say this is 5 star by many people's standard though it is more a 4 star. The only let downs were breakfast which was cold with uncooked baked beans, runny scrambled eggs, soggy cold hash browns, croissants from a packet that were dry and tasteless and hard cold eggs Benedict and fried eggs. The only part of breakfast that was hot were the freshly made omelettes. The other key down were the toiletries. They were all in squeeze bottles attached to the wall which is not what I would expect from a 5 star resort. There was no conditioner by the bath so to get the conditioner you walk to get out of the bath and walk over to the shower and squeeze the conditioner as hard as you could as it was almost impossible to get anything out of it and take it back into the bath. The shampoo, conditioner and soap all fixed to the wall were of very poor quality and it left your hair feeling like rope. The other things that were annoying were only two free bottles of water on day one and the fridge is half the depth of a normal one so you have to be careful of what you buy to make sure you will fit it in. The staff everywhere other than reception and Azatea bar were miserable and rude and yes the breakfast staff are militant.

El primer día: una habitación no estaba limpia.
El segundo día: no cambiaban las toallas.
Todos los días: no reponían refrescos.
No había café en la habitación. Cuando preguntamos en recepción, nos dijeron que no nos darían café porque no habíamos pagado la suite junior/habitación más grande adicional.
Cuando les expliqué que no había té en la habitación y que si podíamos darnos una bolsita, nos dijeron que era demasiado tarde para dárnoslo, a menos que pagáramos 5 €.
El personal del desayuno y el personal de mantenimiento han sido encantadores. Kersti y Maria, del personal de recepción, fueron increíblemente serviciales y Yankiel, del área de desayuno, fue increíblemente amable, servicial y agradable. Otros miembros de la recepción fueron increíblemente groseros, especialmente con la solicitud de refrescos.
Las tazas no se limpiaron y se dejaron sucias junto a la tetera en la habitación. No repusieron refrescos durante nuestra estancia.
Tuvimos que pedir toallas limpias en más de una ocasión.

Property was lovely but it’s a shame there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. When we asked for a bath mat it took 3 days and in the meantime my daughter slipped and hit her head on the bath.
There are limited options for feeding kids dinner, we wanted to feed our 20 month daughter at 6 in the buffet but despite being told we could by one member of staff, the others told us it’s not possible jngless we eat and pay too. Staff were incredibly rude and wouldn’t let us in the restaurant at one point then told us they would get something for us and we could eat it elsewhere. After complaining they were still rude and wouldn’t let my husband in to collect food because he was wearing swim shorts so they told him to stand outside. No customer service at all and I have never been spoken to like that in a 5 star resort whatever the rules may be. We complained but they didn’t do anything apart from apologise. There is a kids club and 2 kids pools yet they claim not to be a kid friendly hotel which is odd.

For my opinion the hotel is very nice.
The position is not bad. Not in the center but about 1000 m walking distance. Similar distance to the beach.
The pools and the sunbeds are very busy always [summer time]
Most of the staff is doing the best but some of them just are there...
The breakfast and dinner is ok but in my opinion needs to improve the quality and the variety. There are not many choices for salads and sea food. Some of the foods are cooked again and again in different ways.
The room service and the evening preparing rooms needs to be improve.

We stayed here for a week. The Resort has a very limited vegetarian options. If you are a veg don’t pay for half board you rather try the food outside. Everything there has fish in it even salads so got to be careful with the food. Their daily shows are ok, Massages at Spa is complete waste of money. If you would expect to apply authentic oils and massage then this is not for you, we had lot of expectations but we were totally disappointed. The ocean views are great. I would rather suggest to use their Thelasso experience to use Spa facilities.

Everything was as expected having stayed in the sister hotel Costa Melonaras. We thought the buffet arrangement here was so much better. It was less frenetic and the queueing was very manageable.
The poolside restaurant was great for lunch. There was a swimming pool to suit every guest type.
The bedrooms were equipped beautifully and we would happily return to your hotel.

Having stayed at this hotel a few years ago and having read some recent negative reviews we approached our holiday with some trepidation. For us it was ill founded as we found everything still to the same high standard. The reception area still has a wow factor and the grounds are immaculately kept. The bedrooms are spacious, yes there are no tea/coffee facilities but the Spanish do not expect to make their own drinks in a 5* hotel! This is a large hotel and trying to cater for a lot of people brings its challenges. Dinner is served in 2 shifts which are rigorously adhered to, it’s clearly not everyone’s idea of a 5* arrangement but then I don’t think any buffet is commensurate with a 5* standard. As buffets go it is extensive and well presented. When we stayed it was fine, when the hotel is full, it can be a bit of an unpleasant scrum.

The bedroom was excellent, very spacious and superclean.There were lots of swimming pools and breakfast was excelllent but dining options were limited..Akso property had thin walls and therefore very noisy.Also air conditioning was set at 22 degrees celcius and could not be changed. Some reception staff were rude and there was no concierge service, instead we were asked to walk 15mins down to sister hotel for help.

Honest review! I was here 10 years ago and it was a 5 star hotel. On plus side is really clean and lots of space to sunbath. However, for foodies the food was not great, lack of choice at breakfast and dinner. The service was not 5 star. I don’t know any 5 star hotel that you have to go and make your own tea and coffee from a machine. The staff, overall, friendly but definitely not a 5 star check in at all or check out. I had issue with my room doe to noise and was told I had to wait 2 days to move. In addition, nobody checked to see how my room move was, how the overall experience was at checkout. Having travelled extensively, this hotel is an average 4 star in Europe. The price is good value for money, I paid £100 a night. Not for foodies or those expecting a 5 star service.

Lopesan hotels we famous on the island for having large grandiose beautiful structures and common areas. It’s true they’re magnificent.

But, and this is a big but.

The service is truly horrendous. You can tell the staff work in a bitter atmosphere, reception staff (all 10 different people I spoke to) were cold, dismissive, overly casual and gave the impression even basic questions or requests were a waste of time.

I usually stay in 5 star hotels on the island 6-7 x a year usually in big suites, so am
Accustomed to excellent service. This was unfortunately a terrible experience.

Breakfast food on par with 3 star and no change at all in options from one day to the next.

Redeeming features:

Room was decent sized, if in need of modernisation.

Free parking is good.

Well located hotel

I wouldn’t stay again.

Do yourself a favour, pay a tiny bit more and stay at the world class Bohemia Suites & Spa, a boutique 5 star hotel in playa del ingles. Truly the rolls Royce compared to this let down of a hotel.

On a last note this hotel is mostly peopled by Germans on package tours, so mostly caters for that demographic.

The food was not great. Including the breakfast buffet and restaurant near the pools. The food at the small restaurant closest to the ocean was horrendous, specifically the hamburger. Very dry and like paper. Service was subpar.
We did like the kids club but wish they had longer hours. (Only had 1.5 hour increments).
There was a medical emergency while I was there. A guest went into cardiac arrest and staff seemed very Ill prepared to do CPR/get AED and they depended on the guests with medical background to assist.
The rooms were nice. Although sometimes didn’t get hot water from shower

We had a very good stay at Lopesan. The hotel is sprawling and has great facilities such as the spa, which is amazing, and a number of different pools.

The rooms are well sized and are comfortable.

However, there are a few small improvements that the hotel should make, especially given the room tariff being charged of guests - in our opinion, this makes the hotel 4 star not 5 star as advertised.

Some of small details include:
We asked for a kettle in our rooms so that we could make some tea in the mornings. We were provided with kettles but then had to ask for cups separately. These were then all taken away the next morning by housekeeping.

For our last morning at the hotel, we asked for a late check out. I was told I couldn’t get one whereas my friend got one. As a result, I had to check out at 12, then come back at 1.15 to be given a hospitality room to have a shower. As a result, I had to move my bags 3 times. The hotel was by no means full and therefore I would’ve expected them to agree to giving me a late check out at 2pm. This is what I’ve experienced at every other 5 star hotel.

And finally, upon arrival, we were never offered any welcome drinks. Over the next few days, almost every time we went past reception, new guests were being offered welcome drinks.

Family friendly hotel with a good mix of character and modern amenities; plenty of variety with regards to meals, ample parking and well situated for tourists who are driving. The pools were excellent to use as they weren't too busy. My only suggestion would be to orient guests a little better at check in, as its a very large hotel.

This was our third year coming to Lopesan Villa del Conde with family and friends. We loved it as usual. Wonderful staff that work very hard but always with a smile. Many of the people we met have been coming back for years. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. 5 pools including 1 salt water. Activities for all ages during the day and very impressive live entertainment every evening. Buffet for breakfast and dinner. Several restaurants on site. Excellent food. 5 star rating for sure!

Nice, Hotel but not Excellent overall

This is a very nice, well-kept hotel with larger than average rooms about 15 mins walk to the beach in Maspalomas or similar to Meloneras Playa. Why not perfect.?....

1) Sun loungers are being allowed to be 'reserved' despite a policy that says they cannot (The hotel needs to find a solution to this)

2) Buffet food was good for breakfast but evening meals left a lot to be desired in terms of flavour, choice and even sticking to their own description(!). Some foods were clearly wrongly labelled at the buffet which may be concerning to those with allergies. Having stayed on a number of prior occasions at the Maspalomas Princess, I can say the food was a lot tastier there and they could teach this hotel a good few things about what a Mexican night should have!
3) The hotel needs to find its' soul, vibe, raison d'etre or whatever you want to call it. It ticks many boxes, but without feeling, fun or individualism
4) Having presumably had an empty room above us for 6 of the 7 days, we discovered on our last night that one can trace the walking perfectly above you and corridor noise, cases rumbling by etc. was also intrusive. The hard flooring everywhere is a design flaw from a clients' point of view.

So, to summarise, Lopesan have done well but could do considerably better by putting some thought into the guest experience.

A cool, calm oasis.

We checked out of our original hotel as soon as we met some friends for drinks. Whilst this place is costly it is just fabulous.
It's vast... and can be noisy in some areas.. but you can find quite corners... and our \"little oasis\" of the shhhhhh quiet pool was just what we needed.
I paid for a room upgrade on arrival, for a better view, probably not needed. Spent so much time around the pools, or eating, drinking with friends, time passes you by... and then it's bed time... and repeat!
As I say at the top... it's costly... but you do really get what you pay for... And will I go again... in a heart-beat!

Definitely NOT a 5-star hotel

5 stars are given to hotels based on property AND service.

Property: 5 stars (great pools, view, building, room: that's excellent; no doubt).

Service? Definitely NOT a 5* hotel.

First of all, and this is a SHAME: there is NO DRINKING WATER in the hotel. I found out too late. Nobody told me the water was not drinkable, and I needed to take my medication. I ended up with 2 days of diarrhea. When I asked for water, I was told to use the mineral water in the room (6 Euro/Litre...). There is no water to drink in the whole place. The closest supermarket is 1 km away.

When I pointed out this fact, a waiter told me: \"it's their business\".

And a manager told me, with a straight face: \"THIS IS A 5 STAR HOTEL!\" (unbelievable)

So... if you're thirsty (or need to take your medications), be ready to pay the most expensive water in your life. Or to end up sick.

Something else: half of the employees have an attitude. A waitress at breakfast even treated me rudely... I didn't come here to be mistreated. The same can be said from people at the reception. The cleaning staff are amazing. But many of the rest think they own the place, and treat you like that.

I've been in 2000 cities in 58 countries. This was one of the most beautiful properties I have visited, and one of the places where I felt the worst.

I would NEVER come back to this place and would not recommend you to come.

There are swimming pools everywhere. And the sea is close, and it's a million times better than any pool.

Standard room was huge with lovely comfortable bed, sofa, dressing room and large bathroom with bath and shower. Hotel was large with plenty of space. No problems getting a sun lounger etc. Poolside bar/cafe service. Delivered kettle to room on request. Breakfast was amazing. High quality, lots of variety. Had to book time slots for breakfast but that didn't bother us. Hotel backed straight onto promenade and could walk easily to meloneras beach and cafes etc or to maspalomas beach and amenities. Plenty of nice restaurants within 10 minute walk (need to book them as they get very busy). Hotel had surprisingly good evening events - circus was fantastic.

Relaxing winter sun break

The hotel was exceptional. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a large choice. The location is close to lots of restaurants and shops plus the sand dunes. A very relaxing holiday. I would definately recommend the hotel.

Excellent hotel.

Incredibly nice hotel, one of the best I’ve stayed in. Rooms are enormous, great pools, good location, good golf nearby. Only small complaints would be lack of tea/coffee machine in room and also no iron of steamer in the room which was a bit strange.
