room was comfortable indoor pool was ice cold i thought an indoor pool would be heated but boy was i wrong toocold for my grandaughters to play in they were dissappointed as was i and the whirlpool was nothing morethan a jet stream shooting out fron the deep end of the pool at both corners the breakfast was only till 9 so missed it as did the next three couples that came in after me they wereexpecting it to last longer i was able to get a coffee and toast but also not happy about missing breakfast it should be open till ten on vacation one shouldnt have to wake up early to have a free breakfast

The hotel parking lot needs lots of work. After arrival I noticed the shower curtain was moldy and the bed had rusty stains on it. The room flooring was uneven and it felt that I was sleeping with my head down and my feet were up. There was lots of noise in the room next to me and kept me awake most of the night. I decided in the morning that I would not return.

We stayed here one night first room was completely disgusting there was trash and pee in the bathroom and dirty used bedding and towels they told us there was no housekeeper to clean rooms we were on the 1st floor we were offered another room on the 2nd floor it was similar but a bit cleaner. When checking out we asked for our deposit back and the lady acted like we never gave them one. Definitely NOT STAYING HERE AGAIN !!

The 1st room that we were given the door security latch was broken and the TV didn't work. They moved us to a different room. The 2nd room wasn't any better. The table lamp by the bed didn't work, bad outlet. The shower curtain was almost falling off the walls.Then the worst thing was that the deadbolt wouldn't even engage into the lock! Then to top it off we were greeted with police in the hallway. People in the room across the hall thought there was a camera in the bathroom mirror!

First, I’ve never left a review before but this property was really disappointing. I read the other reviews that said it was clean and somewhat nice but that was not my experience. I did have my two dogs with me so I anticipated being on the first floor and having hard floors as opposed to carpet. I’ve stayed with my dogs plenty of places before, and they’ve always been nice. First of all, the light in the bathroom did not work. The small light that was in there was barely enough to while I was washing my face. The shower curtain smelled like mildew. The worst part was the condition of the actual flooring. I couldn’t even take off my shoes and walk on it. It was so disgusting. It was sticky and greasy looking. I’m glad I didn’t get in until late and I left super early. The only thing at the breakfast bar that I had was milk for a protein shake I brought with me. It was very sparse. I took the dogs on a walk and one of the side door’s sensors was busted out, so I could not enter from one end. The grounds were completely overgrown. I am unsure about the folks that left it a high rating. I don’t know if those are real reviews or not. Based on my stay, it seems like a completely different hotel. On a positive note. The front desk was very nice when I checked in at night. However, the front desk attendant that was there in the morning was unfriendly.

Sheets were VERY stained. Lamp shades appear to have been smashed, then put back onto the lamps. Bathroom mirror had been vandalized yet not replaced.

Breakfast is supposed to be from 6 - 9:00.

@ 8 a.m. there were 3 pieces of bread sitting out in the breakfast area along with some Cheerios. I believe there was a pot with coffee, however nothing else. Not even water, Because I don’t drink coffee there was no sense in even attempting to eat something there.

I was very unimpressed. It felt as if the owners could care less about the condition of the building.

Granted, it was the cheapest hotel in the area, and I knew that when I chose to stay there. In that sense, I got what I paid for. With that said, I don’t feel I got what was advertised.

We checked in after a long 12hr or travel day and the first room virtually had no water and/or pressure the toilet tank was empty and the water was off!
We asked for a different room and they said they would give us a very nice room!
It was not nice this hotel is extremely run down, bedding stained and ripped,towels extremely stained, hair (not mine on the bedding & towels), mattress topper stained, chair stained, holes in the walls … I ended up asking for a clean comforter and they did give me one but it did not fit the bed! The bed was so soft it had a mattress topper that did not fit the king bed!
Someone came knocking on our door at 11:30pm, woke me and scared me and I couldn’t get back to sleep, I didn’t answer it as my husband was fast asleep… the parking lot was empty so that should have been my first clue when pulling up!
For the price of this room I expected more! I will never stay here again … we checked out before the continental breakfast so didn’t experience that!

The room was not clean at all. Dust/hair/debris on the floor (old Cheetos and bottle tops, among other clutter). Surfaces were dusty/dirty and, in some cases, sticky with whatever dried fluid was left on them. Also, one bed’s sheets were more wrinkled than I have ever seen sheets be and were put on the bed sideways. I had to remake the bed. Would not stay again.

Obviously they do not mop the floor at all. I took one of the wash plots and made a path from the toilet to the bed, and it was filthy dirty. The shower knob doesn't work, the shades are becoming shreds, there are so many things that need to be fixed in this room, It was unbelievable. The fixtures in the bathroom needed to be replaced, when they came to clean the room, they didn't even take out the trash.They took a glass, but they didn't replace it. Absolutely, I would never stay at this place.Nor would I recommend anyone to stay. Filthy filthy dirty and very poor maintenance.

The room was rough. The bathroom had major black mold on the ceiling and on the base of the railings. The shelf that was supposed to hold the towels was broken and falling off the wall. The bathroom was dirty and had hair all over the bathtub and toilet had blue stuff all over the seat. The room smelled of chewing tobacco and mushiness from what I’m guessing was mold. The pillowcases didn’t appear to be changed and had a blood stain from someone who probably had a bloody nose. Would never go back.

Dirty, Unsafe, and Poorly Maintained

The moment I walked into the room, I was hit with a strong smell of cigarettes. The whole room stank, and even the bath towels smelled like smoke.

Then I saw a bug crawling on top of the pillow. I couldn’t believe it. I refused to use that pillow — it was absolutely disgusting. When I looked closer, the pillowcase was yellowed and dirty, and the bed itself looked unclean.

The bathroom was also terrible. The toilet was so filthy that we had to clean it ourselves before using it, and there were long hairs all over the floor. A used hand towel was hanging over the shower curtain — who knows who left it there. The other hand towels had stains and looked unsanitary. Everything felt unhygienic and poorly maintained.

To make things worse, the exit door to the outside had a broken lock, meaning anyone could walk into the building without a key card. It felt very unsafe to stay there.

I’ve been traveling across the United States and have stayed in many hotels around this price range, but this one is by far the worst. The condition, cleanliness, and security of this hotel do not match the price at all.

I also saw other reviews saying the breakfast was so poor — and yes, it really was. But honestly, before worrying about breakfast, they should focus on cleaning the rooms properly and improving hygiene standards first. Totally disappointing and unacceptable.

It takes a LOT for me to write a poor review.

The staff were pleasant when they were at the front desk, which was rarely. The room itself was fairly outdated and had an unclean presence. The bathroom was leaking and dripping constantly, and had a general appearance of dirtiness. The area around the hotel was filled with several other hotels and a landing spot for overnight workers and people hanging around the doors into the late hours of the night. But the WORST part of this hotel, was the breakfast. This was NOT a breakfast. They had one plate of wrapped packaged muffins, and a coffee set up. The waffle maker was half broken. There was NO creamer, NONE. Only a half and half bottle in the fridge, which was luke warm. We couldn't eat anything there.

The property address is not correct. It is not on Wanamaker Drive, it is actually on SW Westport Drive. I drove past it twice.
The breakfast area is not well monitored. There is nothing more than one waffle maker and a toaster and bread. There is no jelly, jam, or honey for the bread. No low sugar syrup for the waffles. Coffee frequently ran out.
The bathroom had no hair conditioner, and the hair dryer was gone. The only ice maker was out of service.
Pluses would include: (1) Price, it was reasonable enough to make the problems acceptable {just glad my wife wasn't along on this trip}. (2)The room was clean, (3) the staff were courteous, although the front desk was not always manned.

The room was clean, the staff was nice and the price was right. The parking lot is in need of repair, screens on windows need to be replaced and the outside needs attention with landscaping. The pool looked fine but was closed and the breakfast consisted of waffles, toast, cereal milk and coffee. The lobby has a distinct incense smell. Overall was fine for a quick trip to Topeka and a place to spend the night.

When we walked into the room, it was hot and smelled musty. The walls and ceiling had peeling paint and we were worried to take off our shoes because of the gross carpet. Our dog started to gag when we put him on the floor and then wanted to get off the floor. We went to the front office and told them that we wanted a refund and we didn't feel comfortable staying there. They offered a different room but we didn't feel comfortable and safe there.

When you arrive the first thing you'll notice is the smell. Right when you walk in it smells like smoke. TV didn't work and they couldn't fix the issue nor offer a solution. Maybe bring in another TV, have me switch rooms? Restroom was very small, the door couldn't fully open because it kept hitting the shower rod. The AC unit wouldn't allow me to turn on the fan mode which would of helped drown out the cars on the highway and the couple fighting in the hotel parking lot across from us. Night clerks staff was very engaging and friendly.

Biggest issue i had was I'm disabled and have difficulty climbing stairs. They gave me a 2nd floor room. No elevator and the would not change me to the first floor. Made no effort to accommodate my disability, the lady just laughed and said it's not bad, i can do it. I literally almost passed out by the time i got my luggage and me to the room. Prepaid the room so i was told no refunds.
Second issue they required a credit card to charge a $100 deposit to but i was told it would be refunded upon check out. 2 days later no refund. Called and was told they never charged my card (it's on my card statement), then told me they refunded to the wrong customer, then they told me it was refunded yesterday but it might take a few days to show up. If i had known about the deposit ahead of time I'd never booked a room.
Place is run down with peeling paint , linens were stained and dirty looking, the advertised pool and spa wasn't available. Overall about the worst motel experiance I've ever had.

The bed smelled like pee and the bathroom is so small the door almost hits the toilet and hits the shower when halfway open. The tub spout had mold all the way around it and the rub drain did not work because it was just laying in the tub broke.No elevator so don't take in heavy stuff!
