The first word that comes to mind is \"EW\". Walking in the lobby has a funky smell, like the pool water is attempting to mask an odor. I loved the main lobby, it was beautiful but dang did that smell ruin it. Overall, the gut feeling I got here was NOT it. I checked out my room and the smell was similar to a grandparents house but they smoke a pack a day inside. The area was NOT it either. I should have looked into the area better because as a solo traveler I did NOT feel safe. I went to get dinner to take back to the hotel and just opted to leave instead. I had about 11 hours left of my drive home (mind you it was already 9pm and I had been on the road since 11am) and picked continuing my drive over staying in this place. The staff at the desk was nice tho.

When you enter the lobby of the hotel, it’s beautiful and well kept. Get past the lobby and we’ll…a whole different hotel. They told us to go down through the archways and take left to the elevators but they might be broke so go down further and there’s another elevator. Of course the elevator is broke and the second elevator appeared to be a 2 person type service elevator. They had no carts available at 11:30 pm to haul luggage up. 7th floor hall was dirty and walls banged up and smelled strongly of weed. Housekeeping was supposed to bring clean towels. They never did. Would not recommend this hotel. Very disappointed.

Staff courteous, room linens clean, bathroom relatively clean but trim damaged and mildewed, leftover used washrag hanging in shower maid apparently missed, shower head was 4.5 feet off floor......hit me in waist....hallway walls filthy, elevators damaged and dirty carpeting everywhere, tweaker at front entrance asking for money, homeless people in parking lot, they wanted a $100 deposit on top of my paid room fee that they claim I'll get back....the place should be bulldozed.

Their listing showed an on site diner and bar, which are both closed, and have been for some time. Full disclosure, we did not stay after seeing our room and the unknown bugs flying out of the AC vent, and crawling on the mirror in the bathroom. Staff was very nice, but we did not feel comfortable at all.

room and beds were fine but the bathroom faucet dripped all night, the walls looked like they were going to cave in, and the carpet was disgusting. for the price, it was doable. They make up for the amenities by offering a fairly decent breakfast and great service. The hot tub was a cool 85 degrees - like a warm bathtub. The area has a ton of highway construction so navigating that was super fun. If you are looking for a place to lay your head, this works. Otherwise, continue searching for a place to utilize the pool and hot tub - additionally, the North Tower was where we were directed too - for a 1 night stay we walked forever to get to our room. One set of elevators were down so we had to walk through the convention center to get to our North Tower elevator The other rooms in the main area may have been nicer but we never got to see them.
Not a good family place other than breakfast before we hit the road again.

The lobby of this hotel is absolutely beautiful and spacious, giving off cozy Spanish villa vibes complete with a fountain, arcade, restaurant, pool area and a lot of seating. Unfortunately, the rest of the property hasn't caught up to that first impression. The hotel is very outdated and in desperate need of repairs. During our stay, the guest elevators were completely broken down, forcing us to use a very sketchy staff elevator. To make things more interesting, the hallways gave off serious The Shining vibes. On top of that, the carpeted hallways were in a serious need of shampooing. On the positive side, our room was clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. However, the bathroom was incredibly old, and both the toilet and bathtub were sitting shockingly low to the ground. It has great potential and a stunning entrance, but the guest floors need some serious love.

These breakfast was a surprise. We wasn't expecting it to be so good, it was delicious. The hot tub was hot but the jets didn't work very well if at all. The pool was more like a wade pool it wasn't big nor deep at all but clean. The room was clean and the bed was so comfy we actually woke up and either one of us were hurting it was great. Overall it was a good stay and we would stay there again.

This hotel was like stepping into the past! It at one time was VERY GRAND and currently is now located in a very depressed area of Topeka. The State Capitol! It was very sad and depressing to see the current situation of this hotel. The breakfast buffet in the morning inside the atrium was lovely and attended by staff. No problems encountered except sadness for the current condition of this area likely due to economics.

The room was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful when needed, I chose not to eat breakfast so I can’t say if the breakfast was good or not. The walk to get to the elevator from the front desk felt like about 5 minutes. The hot tub was in fact lukewarm at BEST. The pool was freezing cold and there were hardly any chairs or places to set towels or personal items while you’re in the pool. You must bring a towel with you to the pool because they don’t have any in the pool room. All in all, I’d rate this hotel 2/5 total. NOT worth the price you pay.

Do more stay here. The staff were friendly and the room was decently clean, but I can’t say anything else positive about this hotel. It is beyond old and outdated. The hallways are dingy, and the hall near our room had a full bag of trash and a bleach bottle with a toilet plunger sitting there for the duration of our stay. The elevator was terrifying. Super old with broken buttons, smelled horrible. The pool was so cold it was unusable, and I didn’t trust the hot tub. Our room was dark and dingy. The AC did not work. We booked this place last minute because a storm disrupted our travel home, and if it hadn’t been 9:00 pm when we arrived, I probably would have asked for a refund and gone elsewhere. I felt super unsafe and uncomfortable, and couldn’t wait to leave. I genuinely don’t know how anyone is giving this place high ratings.

The atrium and online photos of this hotel looked very nice, so I booked it. However, when I arrived, my pre-paid room wasn’t ready. The smaller room I was given was clearly at one time a smoking room, which left me with a headache all weekend. There was a third of a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom with no spare roll. The carpet felt damp. There were screws coming out of the wall where art used to hang, but clearly we don’t deserve art now. There was only a thin, thin blanket on the bed - no duvet or coverlet. Overall, the room felt like a Motel 6, not a Ramada. If I wanted a Motel 6, I would have booked one and saved money. And you get (crappy, but still) art and a coverlet at a Motel 6!

The breakfast buffet was fair - the only thing edible were the waffles, but the staff was helpful. The pool area needs a massive update - the paint was chipping, it looked mildew-y in spots, and the hot tub was hot but the jets didn’t work. The (indoor, mind you) pool was so cold you couldn’t use it.

I didn’t leave because it was close to where I needed to be, but I will not book this property again.

Being an older property there were some issues. Paint peeling, ceiling tiles in the hallway missing. General maintenance items. It did not effect the stay. Best sleep I've had in a while. Will definitely stay again when I'm in town. The room was quiet even with people there for softball and baseball tournaments and a bowling tournament.

Where to begin. The room was great,the bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean.
However: the place in general was gross. The smell of water damage was present and there was only 1 elevator for the entire North tower. One guy said they are there every year and it has been like that for 3 years now. The elevator was smelly and kinda scary. I believe it used to be the service elevator. There was mold on the walls in the laundry room,there were panels of sheetrock missing and the new Sheetrock was just resting there(with screws lying on the floor any kid could have got ahold of). There was a foray where the door frame did not reach the ceiling and the rain had \"flooded\" it. The awning over the front door was falling in and of course the rain was coming in so as soon as you get out of your car you get wet. The exercise room had 3 pieces of equipment and a shower that obviously had not been cleaned since Jesus walked the earth. One of the stairwells had active leaks as well. There were buckets catching the water and the wall was wet.
Overall it was NOT with the money. The smell alone was unacceptable.
That said the breakfast was really good as well as all the staff we interacted with. Obviously this motel suffers from either bad management or the corporation just ignores this property. I would NOT recommend this Ramada.

Although the interior of the hotel brought me back to the 60s and 70s and 2 of the 3 elevators were down, I had a pretty good stay. The front desk staff (Jesse and Valerie) were very professional, helpful, and did an outstanding job. My room was clean, but the soft, fluffy towels and perfect shower water pressure were the definitely highlight. The breakfast staff and the breakfast were very tasty, hot and delicious. Plenty of parking and overall, I would probably stay there again. Hopefully, the elevators are fixed next time.

The staff are great, very helpful and accommodating. The reason for the lower review was the main elevators were out of service (being worked on to make pretty). Not a big deal, this happens. But with a very large Legion group visiting it made using the only (service) elevator at the back of the property a process.

In talking to the group (who comes every year for their annual event) they told me that the elevators were out of service last year when they visited. !!

It starts with the message on the bathroom mirror that says for your convivence bring your dirty towels to the front desk and we will exchange them for clean ones. Really, who is this convenient for?? We stood in line to get clean towels along with the people checking in. We had the room for 11 nights. Trying to get a washrag was like pulling teeth. When we asked for a washrag we were told they didn't have any behind the front desk and they don't work in laundry so they couldn't help us.
When our garbage cans were full we asked if they would empty them. We were told to put them in the hall and they would take care of them. They were in the hall all day before they were emptied and new liners put in.
We had to ask for toilet paper and Kleenex.
About the 5th day we were there we asked if they ever did come into the room to clean. Were told they didn't really know of the policy on how often the rooms were clean but they would look into.
When we returned the next night our room had been cleaned. But they also turned the heat down to 60 and it was freezing in the room.
They came in one more time to clean our room. So every day but two we had to stand in line for towels.
The breakfast was really good but could have used a little more variety as they had the same food every day other than some days there was cheese on the eggs. The people who served breakfast were really nice.
Most of the people at the front desk were really pleasant even when they couldn't help us.

You can tell that this hotel was probably amazing back in the day! But as for today, the hotel is dated. The main area really is neat, but immediately shows it's age when you realize how much of it is no longer used or maintained (restaurants, ballrooms, elevators, etc). You have to walk past the main atrium area to walk down two long hallways passing elevators that do not work and closed off ballroom/convention areas to get to the one singular elevator that does work but it is small and is the only one in use. It felt like being in the backrooms. This did not seem like a one time issue. They had sturdy signs showcasing the route to the small elevator acting like this is a long term or permanent issue. Once on our floor (seventh), the hallway to our room was hot and our room had trouble cooling during our stay. The room was nothing crazy to talk about. The bed was not super comfy - lumpy. Breakfast was in the main atrium area - hot and cold food was offered. It was just fine. The staff was kind and helpful. It would be super cool to see this place get a nice renovation or face lift! The bones are great, it just needs a lot of love. At the moment, it is okay for one night, but I wouldn't stay longer than that in its current state.

Dirty dusty outdated rooms, stains on curtains, and flooring. Our room was so dusty that i had to check out a day early because it was making my daughters asthma flare up. One tiny elevator working for 12 floors and the way to the elevator was weird and long. Me and my kids had to shower with straight cold water because there was no hot. Lady at desk said a manager would get in touch with me but its been almost a week and i have never gotten any call. Definitely not worth the price i paid and would not recommend to anyone. Looks nice from lobby, but past that its awful!!!!!

The night we checked in, I called Wyndam to complain about the facilities and everyone else. The staff was uninterested and took several hours to get answers or resolutions - which were often not resolved. There were only two plugs in the room, one of which was plugged into an extension cord. There were no USB plugs whatsoever. The carpet both in the room and the hallways appeared to be dirty and very worn. The majority of the hotel was shut down - three restaurants, etc., the salon, whatever.

The hotel is a sort of Gormenghast. Vast in size, with dingy time worn corridors, stairwells and huge empty function rooms and cupboards stacked with chairs. stretching out in all directions from a much better maintained and appointed central area.
Only one lift working to 11 floors at the very back of the hotel. To get there a long walk down a very empty and lonely corridor sided by storage rooms and dark empty spaces.
I asked for a quiet room in advance and again on arrival, so was given a room in 'The Tower' overlooking the busiest and noisiest road, next to the ice machine and the lift. Given the hotel was mostly empty that seemed almost casually unkind. The second night l asked to change due to being able to hear every hoot and shout from the adjoining room, via a connecting door. A different member of staff was very understanding and helped me out. The second room faced the amtrak station, no connecting door, quiet street, (couldn't l have been given this the first night?)
Both rooms were clean and well maintained with useful power sockets and decent bathrooms. Not all rooms have open windows, but ac works.
Good breakfast, with friendly breakfast guy.
You need a car to stay here and get out for food (no restaurant on site, except breakfast and this is not a vibrant area).
Parking on site.
The hotel seems to have mostly workers and individual travellers during the week, but may fill up with sports fans, event teams and associations at weekends. Different again perhaps

Breakfast was good, check in was fairly quick. We have stayed at this property before and the rooms in the main hotel were okay. This time, we had a room in the north tower. The elevators were down so the only elevator available was a small service elevator that only had access through a long, dark ( no lights on) hallway. When we got to our room, only one lamp worked and the other flickered and only worked sporadically for about 10 seconds. The remote for the tv would only work when it was pointed at just the right angle. The bathroom ceiling was peeling and the bathtub drain was rusted. The bed mattresses were well worn and I kept rolling to the middle of the bed. The room had new wallpaper and the carpet was clean.

The AC was not on when we checked in, and it was very stuffy in the room for a while. That is the only thing that wasn't great. Parking was super easy, and there was plenty of light in the parking lot, which was very nice since we got there in the evening. The clerks (both night and morning) were very helpful. The breakfast was good, the eggs were fluffy, and the biscuit was still warm.

This hotel needs a complete overhaul. I should’ve looked at the Google reviews and not just Expedia reviews. I would have noticed that there have been elevators that are not functional for over four months now. That’s ridiculous! All guess staying in the tower portion of this property must take a small service elevator that takes forever because everyone is using it as it is the only means of getting to the rooms other than taking the stairs. The odor that smacks you in the face every time I exit the service elevator onto the fourth floor, where I stayed, is absolutely horrendous! I did not feel comfortable walking barefoot in my hotel room. I created a path made up of towels and sheets that I could walk on because the carpet just felt grimy and the room was musty and stinky. And probably the most frustrating part is that my hotel key kept getting unprogrammed so I had to walk the equivalent of three city blocks each and every time this occurred. I was told the same thing each time by the person at the desk. “ oh, so if your cell phone or credit card comes in contact with your room key, it can de-magnetized it” I accepted that the first time I heard it. I intentionally kept my room key in a pocket far away from anything that might affect its programming, but yet again, I was locked out of my room and had to walk all the way down to the front desk to get my keys reprogrammed. This place is just a hot mess. Never Again!

Standard Wyndham breakfast: eggs, sausage, potatoes, yogurt, fruit. Pleasant surroundings. Property was atrium-style hotel with large community area for breakfast with fountain. Liked that our room had an outside deck. Shared with two or three other rooms, but very spacious. Weather was spring/transitional, so thunderstorm and it was nice to stand on deck and watch the system move through.

The staff was friendly and the breakfast was pretty good. The building itself looks worn but clean. I did get a full size bed that they told us was a queen. The room looked like it was missing a bed too. It was very cramped for two full size people to sleep on. The toilet didn't always flush and the ac was really loud. Overall it was an ok budget stay with the exception of the bed issue. That sucked.

Super loud hotel. When I checked in I asked specifically for a quiet room. We got put next to a party room. We could hear everything through the walls. There's no sound protection anywhere. You could hear and feel the whole room rattle anytime somebody shut a door in the hallway. The bed was clean and comfortable. But everything else is just dingy and run down and kind of gross honestly. It was cheap though so I guess you get what you pay for. And the breakfast was decent.
