We booked a last minute stay after we checked out of another hotel in town where we had a terrible experience with our room. We should have just booked SpringHill to begin with. The property and rooms are very clean, as was the pool which we enjoyed again. We will be staying at SpringHill anytime we’re in town in the future. Thank you!

Great breakfast. Tables cleaned when vacated. Staff was welcoming. Lots of parking Only knock is the shower had a bit of pink mold around the shampoo dispensers like it hadn’t been sanitized in a while. Enjoyed our stay.

My credit card was charged despite prepaying. In reviewing the folio emailed to me after checkout, they charged taxes which were already paid and documented as such on my initial booking receipt. There were no incidentals charged to the room, just a billing error on their part. When I contacted the property to resolve the overpayment/double charge, I was told they had a new system and the issue would need to be escalated to the manager. There has been no contact from manager Kay to resolve the issue as promised by site staff. Mistakes happen but how you handle them is the important thing. The hotel was conveniently located. The room had a nice setup for work/relaxation that fit our needs. We thought that we had found a new home base as we frequently travel to the area but now I don't trust them. They definitely dropped the ball.

The original room that we were meant to Stan had a plastic covering over the fire alarm and a face mask covering that. Also, the phone was disconnected. Water flow to the sink was subpar. Front desk was good but not exceptional. They did move me in my family to another room after I discussed the fire alarm issue.

AC unit was broken in room.

Water pressure in sink was non existent.

Lots of wear and tear on surfaces throughout. Black scuffs on table tops, white stains on sofa, mildew in shower. Broken toilet seat that would pinch your skin when sat on. Multiple hairs on bedding.

Funky smell upon entering the room.

I stay at this particular location a handful of times a year and this was the first visit I have left extremely underwhelmed.

Room was standard could have used so love and tender care of fixing shower door from leaking water out while showering and clean the strip around bottom door. Air filer in ceiling needed cleaned. Staff need to be more customer service friendly. Milk in morning was gross not sure what issue was they were not expired but had a nasty taste. Location was perfect. Would stay again even with all those issues. But they should be looked into.

Very disappointed. Would never stay here again.

Not a very welcoming check-in. Was given incorrect information regarding breakfast times. Room 207 is probably the worst room to have. Directly over lobby entrance and window view totally blocked by lobby roof. Quiet room except for doors slamming in the hallway. No room safe and no safe available for use at the front desk. (Asked). Sofa was extremely uncomfortable and desk chair was uncomfortable as well. Refrigerator turned off twice and food was ruined. Asked at front desk and got an “ok” but no one ever came to look at it. Quit trying to use it. So disappointed in our stay and did not come close to Marriott standards. We stayed for 3 nights total using our points and dollars. Made us check out and in each day. Bottom line, would never stay here again. Maybe a B&B next time. Wasted our points and money. A/C was ok. Bed was comfortable. Shower was ok for a tub shower. Closet was big. Microwave worked. Breakfast was ok and service there was good. Elevators and ice machine worked. Bar and staff was good as we went there once. My suggestion is the hotel is ok for one night as a stop on the road or if you will only be using it for sleeping. Otherwise, look elsewhere. Sorry as this is one of the worst reviews I have written. Usually, I just skip a review if it is just and ok place. Like to leave reviews for places I really like instead. Use your points elsewhere as I wish I had.

The first night was great. The next day we discovered that our room had been overlooked. We did not receive any housekeeping services and we had to request new towels for the night, I was there to be with my brother as he laid his wife to rest. When I left for the services I requested management to make sure our room was tended to.
I do not know why but the coffee that was served was an abomination. I don't know how anyone could even call it coffee. The breakfast buffet was ordinary with very few choices for meal items to dine on.
These things made for an added stress to the visit. My sister in law's funeral and mediocre accommodations. We would not go back to this unit if we ever visit Topeka again,.

My daughter got stuck on the elevator with her friends. There was no sign on it and we found out later on when the fire department came that they had been there two other times that day. That's not ok and something should be done about it. management needs to reach out to me.

This is a newish property with some innovations that I appreciate. Principal is a no slip shower stall with controls away from the splash zone. I can't confirm, but I believe the floor \"tile\" is cushion too. It is certainly nonslip.

That said, the bed is very comfortable and the HVAC perfect as far as I could tell – – this during a cold snap. There's even a classy bar downstairs. I thought it was an improvement.

The breakfast in the morning was OK because I think the eggs are dehydrated and I'm a little suspicious of the sausage but all was tasty and filling. Another innovation were the waffle bits -- premade so no pouring and \"ironing.\"

I haven't been in Marriott before (I usually book Hilton) but this unit may have changed my mind.

Overall nice stay

Nice stay. However, pillows are very well used and too flat and mattresses are starting to get too soft and dip causing back pain.

We have stayed here last 3 times we've been in Topeka, and 1st 2x, great, this time, nope. Bed was not comfortable, sink water pressure, NONE. This wasn't at all what we expected, will rethink staying here next time.

Not the best or worst Marriot I’ve seen

Friendly staff. Decent location. Food available within walking distance. Room spacious, but the bathroom needed a little more attention to detail: 3 towels for a 4 person booking, no conditioner, and an unappealing ring of grime around the shower drain.

Overall a nice hotel. Staff were very kind. We just had 2 complaints. We booked a room that said it slept 6 people (2 queen beds, 1 pull out double). The room we received had 2 queen beds and a futon. It worked for us since we had 5 people, but was not as described. Also the AC did not seem to work. The room was over 80 degrees when we arrived. We set the AC to 65 and it never got below 72. It was overly hot.

Upon arrival I was told that “Expedia overbooks all the time” and I didn’t have a room. Staff was rude and not accommodating at all.i was told I would have to call Expedia or and “figure it out” while I was on the phone with Expedia the lady motioned for me to come over and apologized saying she was wrong and I did have a room. We could have done without the extremely poor customer service.
I have never had any issues while booking thru Expedia

Disappointing Stay

The Hotel itself was nice since it's only 4 years old. The bed was not comfortable, we asked to have the room cleaned, they forgot so my wife ended up cleaning the room herself. All in all the stay was ok but was expecting better. Was first time staying at a Marriot Hotel will probably be the last time

Spring Break

Room was plenty roomy.

Breakfast wasn’t good. Not many choices.

Beds were noisy when someone would move.

Shower door wouldn’t close so water went everywhere.

Water didn’t drain even with the bad water pressure.

The hotel building is great in every way. However, the same cannot be said for the amenities, primarily the breakfast. I have stayed at more economical hotels with breakfasts that were far better. Depending on the day, biscuits were hard and dry, the croissants were soggy, no orange juice, items late to arrive.... At these rates I expected better.

Multiple people in and out roaming around with the drinks. Staff was not knowledgeable about anything no security for safety anywhere in the parking lot or the building. Anytime I asked the question staff the few staff they had on the weekend often use the phrase I don’t know unsay I felt.

I stayed at this property for a couple of days. Overall, the room was nice, but the design of the bathroom shower (shower door was hard to open and close) was a bit of a hassle. This hotel has potential to be a great hotel, but they just lacked paying attention to details. There were strands of hair on the couch/crumbs, a couple of red stains on the bedding, leftover make up marks on the bedding, and a couple of tiles along the floorboard were just taped to the wall instead of repaired. For the hotel to be fairly new, it was underwhelming for a Marriott. The bed was comfortable though besides the issues mentioned earlier.
