It was the perfect hotel for what we needed it for. The 2 bedroom suite had enough room and also allowed for privacy. Recommend this property.

Our room was great! However, the hot tub water was green with brown ring around tub! The room was clean and nice! But they definitely need to fix this place up! Front doors of hotel left open day and night! Needs a paint job badly and fixing up! The complimentary breakfast was not very good! Limited choices! We booked for hot tub, if we would have known it was in this shape would have went elsewhere, but we couldn’t get a refund for room! This is not up to a Marriott standard hotel!

We choose this property due to good rating and the pool/hot tub but we were disappointed. The propery is dated. Front doors were open the whole time we were there morning and night. Kids went in the pool but I wouldnt go in the hot tub it was green. We had broken floor tiles in our room and the mirror in the bathroom faded with \"vintage aging\" but not on purpose. This is the first time we have been disappointed in a Marriott property.

Room was good. Pull out mattress was disappointing. Thankfully they had an extra mattress topper for the regular beds or it would not have been usable. Lobby, exterior, and parking lot are all dated. There's nothing special about the breakfast options and fewer options than many other hotels we've stayed at. You have to be very careful in the parking lot due to potholes. The main doors are broken, so we had to use the breakfast doors immediately adjacent to the smoking chair. The sidewalk isn't smooth, so getting the luggage cart in/out was difficult between breaks in the sidewalk and the chewy parking lot. All that said, the room (what really matters) was fine and the people were nice. Unfortunately, our stay was tainted by a random $34 charge on the bill. I hadn't checked out yet and inquired at the front desk. They couldn't explain it and didn't volunteer to refund it. I had to request the refund. The refund was immediately processed, but the person at the desk had no explanation for the charge and that's suspicious. She thought it was an incidental hold, but that amount is $31 and this was $34. I also saw the $31 as pending, this was not an incidental hold. She confirmed it wasn't a late checkout fee because they don't charge for that & our Marriott status allows for late checkouts. The line item name on the bill didn't explain the charge. I'm glad I saw it before I left, but trust was hurt.

Great hotel for price point. It was quiet, clean. Had a little kitchen with a big fridge. Has a pool and hot tub. Only problem was pool was not accessible for me. It has no easy entry and the ladder in the shallowest part has a broken bottom rung. So I could not use it.

The breakfast was acceptable. Not great for protein. The sausage slices were really spicy. They had scrambled eggs, which were just ok. Seemed fake.
They had hot ready to eat oatmeal with toppings, waffle maker, all the bread choices. So if you can eat carbs you’ll be happy. Only fruit was bananas.

We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area. The room was very clean and comfortable; I had no worries about our family staying there. Breakfast was good, better on the weekend with a different variety than the weekday. We enjoyed the pool although the water was rather cold. Overall, we had a great experience here.

Hotel was 2 out of 5. The room itself was clean and the person who treated us was very nice, the room itself had a bad odor and the noice level from the cooling system was very loud….not much sleep happened. Not only was the air conditioner loud, the unit is 3 foot from the bed.

I arrived having been told there would be a room for me that had never had pets in it. I was informed that was not the case.

The man at the desks did his best he upgraded my room insisting animals had not been in the room for four day prior.

I had a severe reaction to the room. I could not breathe.

I asked for a refund and was told since I booked with Expedia with a 10 dollar upgrade if refund was needed, we could not get a refund.

We cannot reach Expedia for a refund. We paid for your room and for a “pet free”hotel at a higher price.

Two hotel rooms for a one night stay.

Old buildings are hard to clean. Carpet is disgusting and old. No solid granite or composite quartz anywhere. Lamp in my bedroom had protective brown paper adhesive stuck to the plastic white shade top (which I washed off) it looks much better now.

I understand you cannot refurbish the hotel often, but after 40 years it is obvious that nothing has been done. The lighting is terrible & there are no outlets with charging options for an A or C adapter to charge a phone or computer.

I guess you have no competition.

This is an average hotel that needs updating. The bathroom floor needs to be cleaned better-dirty corners and grout. I complained about the light in the shower/toilet room as it blinks several times like a strobe light before going fully on. The woman at the desk said that all of the bathrooms do that. That is unacceptable IMO. The staff at the desk were not friendly and didn’t even greet us when we arrived to check in. The doors to the entrance of a hotel slide open, but have the feeling like one is walking into a jail. Even the exterior of the property needs some attention/improvement. The Continental breakfast included with the rooms was average. We did appreciate the full kitchen with a full size refrigerator!

We stayed in a hotel downtown that cost twice the amount of the Residence Inn, then booked here for our last night in Topeka. The Residence Inn was so much cleaner than the expensive hotel, the staff were so nice, the pool/spa was clean and easy to access, the continental breakfast was good too! I would pick this slightly outdated Inn over the expensive fancy hotel we stayed at for the cleanliness and service alone!

This was my first time staying at a Residence Inn so i didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by how the hotel had the forethought and anticipation of what a guest might need during their stay. It was a home away from home. I had all of the comforts of home. The only concerns I had were with the parking situation and the elevator. Our room was on the top floor on the opposite end of the available parking. Also, the only elevator was in the back of the hotel in the middle, which was also far away from our room. Other than that I enjoyed the stay and Residence Inn will be one of my firat choices when booking future hotel stays.
