This is a fabulous hotel . The welcome we received when checking in was wonderful . We received an unexpected upgrade to Riverview room which was amazing . We had views all along the beautiful waterfront . Which was stunning when nightfall came and all the area lit up with a myriad of coloured lights .
The breakfast was plentiful and delicious !We also ate in the Riverview Cafe and had coffee downstairs in coffee shop area .food and drinks at both were exceptionally good .
The staff throughout the hotel were warm , friendly and exceedingly helpful The premises were spotlessly clean and well cared for .
It had a quiet calm ambience throughout .
It certainly is a 5 Star hotel which gave us a 5 Star visit to Kuching .

Used to stay in Pullman but decide to give Hilton a try. It was a mistake. Cost more but not worth the price.

Check-in was smooth. Breakfast is good with wide selections. Breakfast service was alright. Not Hilton great.

Stayed two nights and rubbish bin was not cleared and water was not top up. Have to request for service.

WA was a good idea but general service is not up to Hilton standard.

Generally a very good hotel. However Wi-Fi only worked with a special code and Hilton honours link did not work. Also there was dust in some areas in the cupboard. Rest of the room was fine.
I had a river facing room and the views were amazing. Excellent location.

We have a Premium King bed river view that’s 5*
All the staff are pleasant and exceed in every way. Laundry service is very good. The gym is 5* all brand new equipment. The only complaint is that Expedia did not put on there App that the pool is out of order due to being refurbished.

Entire pool area under renovation, sure, i was allowed to use the pool at the pullman up the road but its not the same .. cannot use their towels, charge drinks to the room etc .. how is this scam allowed to go on? Hotels not revealing their construction works before booking? You want to post pics of the nice amenities.. you should provide the nice amenities.

The airconditioning in my room needs servicing - I turned it to 18 and it was still warm. I therefore did not sleep well.
Shame the Riverview café had tinted windows, which prevented one from looking out onto the lovely river view outside.
Overall, the hotel was dark and it did not give one a welcoming feeling.

Started off lovely. Room nice and freshly renovated.
A little noisy as work was still being completed.
Breakfast was ok.
Went down hill the night we had dinner at the hotel. It was a wagyu night. I have never in my life seen anything so bad. Unsure how they even managed to make the meat so wrong. Topped off by the staff bringing the wrong bottle of wine three times. And once looking it up the wine was $9.00 online and the Hilton charged us $150 AUD
The dinner was beyond the worst food I have ever eaten. Beyond disappointed.

The hotel is undergoing major renovations. They were unable to fix the phone in my room though I stayed 4 nights. Only one or 2 lifts were working leading to long waits . The swimming pool had no attendant to direct me to the showers

The hotel is pretty old school, so 5-star for certain utilities is much suited 15 years ago. TV is old, please bring your tablets. I love the lift buttons and displays which is pretty much 60s-70s? Please keep or refurbish them (not replace), it’s like a charm in “blast from the past”!

Cleanliness and comfort is generally excellent. Services and front desk staff knowledge is very accommodative. We got recommendations and bookings over the counter for interesting signature sight-seeings.

Maybe there could be a dedicated information counter in the future just for local tourism, cultural habits and amenities? Because Sarawak is so big and interesting and there’s is much things to learn and understand.

Breakfast buffet is a good variation: look out for “today’s special”. Abundant in choices to start your mood of the day. The Indian Dosai/Tosai is not so fresh. It should just display one piece instead of taking from display, and make a fresh one upon request - it’s best when eaten fresh. The quality of sushi rice is not so good, but taste is ok. Maybe the chef could make series of California Maki instead to balance a richer palate over the lower quality of Japanese rice (I know good quality sushi rice is difficult to source).

Compared to West Malaysia, the tone and language in Sarawak is much humble and gentle. Not rowdy and much less arrogant. These people from Dayaks background deserves much more respect than we thought.

I struggled to choose a hotel in Kuching
And chose this one despite renovation work which is going on (I didn’t hear much noise)
It’s pretty shabby and certainly needs work - carpets and paintwork stained
Staff friendly but not v professional, not what we would have expected in US or Europe
Having said that I enjoyed my stay, relaxing and a great view and location
Given the low price and the lack of alternatives I would stay here again

We were given a room with river view which we very much appreciated. Hotel is in good location and easy access to river front for morning walk. As it's one of the older hotels there's no denying it's aging with old carpets and mouldy grout. Other than that services and cleanliness are up to expectations.

Overall fine experience

The room facilities and bed were clean and good. I had good sleep. I had river view which is very nice. The breakfast was very good with many choices.
The staffs were very friendly and nice.
Only drawback is the bathroom, looks old furnishing and some parts does not look clean enough. Feel discomfort during my time in the bathroom. The bathroom amenities could have been 5 star standard. The pool is OK.

Sorry to say, it was most disappointed stay with Hilton brand hotel so far. No hot water around 8 am for my two days stay there, 28-29 Jun 2022. Feedbacked to front desk staff on the first day, nothing happened at all. The bathroom was very dirty and tower was in grey colour. I don’t want to waste time to list all disappointments. The hotel management needs to do his work.

5D4N at Hilton Kuching from Johor. The location is superb right by the river at one end of the waterfront, breakfast was pretty decent with a reasonable amount of choice and friendly service. Our rooms (12th floor) were spacious and included a sitting room which was a real bonus. The rooms were generally clean but some areas need more maintenance such as the trim in the bathrooms. The biggest issue was that we had to queue for over an hour in a crowded lobby in order to check in on our arrival. There was no system or organisation and the whole process was painfully slow (even taking into account SOPs and the fact that the lobby was undergoing refurbishment). The hotel really needs to work out a better system for this in busier periods. Otherwise, very pleasant and will consider on next visit.

check in was great although the room that i booked (river facing) was not available, in the Hotels.com river facing room is more expensive, but the receptionist has upgrade my room with complimentary breakfast.

The downside is i found there’s a blood stain on the bed sheet, but o found out during the next morning

It maybe the best hotel in this little city of Kuching . I still remember when it commenced the operation in year 1988 , l was still a teenager but only get to stay in this Hotel Hilton at thirty-two years later .

Quite old facilities and need for upgrade consideration. My room's bathroom had a water stagnant on the floor. Onwards I had to clean myself in the bathtub by using a pail and dipper. Not enough shower gel. Please bring your own.

Right on the river front was nice. But noise was constant. Traffic up till gone midnight and loud music from the hawkers stalls till the early hours .Would be best if double glazed to reduce the outside noise. Needs to be re carpeted on-the Non Executive Floors and rooms. Worn, stained and a bit whiffy. Nice pool area and gym was pretty good. We pre paid breakfast and it was always good. Lots of variety. Well presented and replenished regularly. very helpful and cheerful team in this area. Big thanks to them. Used the Steak house 1 Dinner. Set 4 course meal advertised as from a certain price point. Came in at nearly double when presented bill at the end. No indication what the different costs of the Dishes on the menu were. When being selected. 1 small beer and water from the dispenser would not account for the dramatic increase in charge.
That said the meal was very good. Well cooked, presented and service was pretty good too. Best dinner we had for the entire stay in Kuching. Early checkout, had a Bit of a fright when the receptionist printed off a long,long list of charges and presented it to me. Total Cost for whole stay and all breakfasts. Had to point out all prepaid to you guys on booking. He re checked and produced an invoice for hotel tax and laundry only. .

Lovely hotel but wouldn't stay again

We really loved this hotel. It was wonderful.
The staff were fantastic, the rooms were very nice, the location was really close to the town, the pool was awesome! But, there was a lot of noise everywhere. On our first night we were not facing the river and the bar opposite was playing music until 2am on a Wednesday.
We were moved room Thursday to a river facing room (with an upgrade which was amazing) however, there is a pedestrian crossing outside which we could hear on the 11th floor and the music on the street and from the evening light shows could be heard easily from the hotel.
We were also woken most mornings at 5am from the mosques nearby.
Honestly, we couldn't fault the hotel. The staff did everything they could and it was absolutely lovely. But to get a good night sleep, I would not recommend it.

It’s more for business man n to me I love to be quiet b cos I m there for the 21st Asian Masters Athletic Championship competition, 2019.
My requested for 2 bananas was not given and no apologies.(Surprised, for Hilton Hotel)
Staying there for 8 days, staffs, should recognise the guest name will be much better to feel like home.
Other than that, all are fine.
Be back next year for the Rain Forest Musical Festival in July 2020.

They forgot to keyed in the breakfast I paid for three days so had to waste some time sorting that out

It is a great location if you want to be on the waterfront and near lots of great restaurants. Very easy to call a Grab to the main lobby. The hotel has a nice pool that is perfect for coming back to the hotel for a midday break. Did not use any of the restaurants other than the buffet breakfast, which was very impressive. There were lots of options.

Pros: Staffs were polite & helpful, Rooms were larger than standard despite being slightly older yet cleanliness wasn't an issue, Local sites were within walking distance, Convenience store(7-11) available across from hotel.

Cons: Room on lower floors facing the river-view were punished repeatedly by loud blasts of exhaust-sounds by motorcyclists at night which provided for much interrupted sleep.

Conclusion: Forgo the river view/facing main access road should u value a good night's rest.

We stayed at the Executive Level and really enjoyed our stay.
The snacks during cocktail hour is quite nice and the service was excellent.
Check-in was very quick and easy.
The room is spacious with a big king sized bed.
And the room was very quit, even though they were fully booked.
Breakfast (in the lobby) is great. But it can get a bit crowded.
Breakfast is available in the Lounge but the choices are limited.

The room assigned has probably not been used for a while. The handsoap box was soiled and the soap was stained.

The two bath towels were smelly, so I had to asked the housekeeper for a new fresh towel.

I think the service can be improved and to treat returning customers with the service expected of a Hilton property.

A great location from which to explore

This is a Hilton Hotel, so it has fairly high standards to meet of course. We really enjoyed our stay here (3 nights in May). The location is very convenient, the rooms were fine and the breakfast very good. If you can get a room with a river view, do so. The pool was great, and the gym certainly looked good.
