Only problem was noise from neighbouring nightclub Jumanji which really cranks up the volume in the early hours until around 3am. Got woken up by this every night of the 5 nights we stopped there. Other than this issue the hotel is great for the money and is situated very centrally nrar to the waterfront, china town and little india oh also near to shopping mall

On our last day the alarm went off in the entire building at 6am for 15 minutes straight... it was over for a couple minutes before it started again, and again until about 7am.
The hotel is good for what you paid for, but this incident really disrupted my rest.

Lift broke down, no alternative lift as only 1 lift in the whole hotel. only alternative was stairs. For 2 days. Toilet bowl water dripping.

Cleanliness is good.
Staff, service and amnities is damn bad. No phone in the room to call front desk. Had to use my own then it took ages for the front desk to answer the call. Busy and enggage all the way. Coffee/tea maker and hair dryer is not available. The staff even ask me to go down get the hot water from water dispenser. I’ve been to other 3 star hotel be it in msia or oversea, tune hotel is the worst service ever. It does not fit the 3 star with very lousy service.

I used to stay at Tune Waterfront and it had comfy beds, clean towels and a private bathroom for a fairly reasonable price. The counter people were always friendly too.

However, my recent stay was quite disappointing. I requested for a quiet room but was instead given a room right beside the main entrance where people walked in and out and was near the main road.

When I asked if it was possible to change to a more quiet room, the lady told me that a room beside the main entrance was quieter than a room on a higher floor away from the traffic. Okay, that logic was very weird but I was tired and just thought of putting up with it.

When I entered the room, it was rundown and not like the normal rooms that I used to stay in. The sink was dirty and had splotches of toothpaste(?) still in it. No bathroom rug was given either. And the worse was the window that couldn't be closed. As my room was right on the ground floor, anyone could've climbed in at any moment.

I went to inform the counter lady again and she sent someone over to help \"close\" the window but the serviceman also admitted that the lock was spoiled. So even though the window was finally closed and \"locked\", anyone from the outside could just open it again.

By this time I was just really really tired with everything and I didn't bother to make any complains because I could see that no matter what I said, the lady wasn't going to change me to another room.

1. The Front Desk Staff was not helpful at all. I believed that its time to chance shift so he is in a harry to go just answer cannot, cannot and cannot. Not even a suggestion but just point to the computer next to the counter and ask you to do the booking yourself. So I asked can you help me as I am not use to using this computer - he did not answer me but walk into the inner office.
2. The room 206 has a lamp at the side wall hanging side way about to drop off.
3. First day no soap, only second when they clean the room then we received soap.

I booked this room long time ago.. unfortunately I have family day on the same day organise by my department. So, unable to go to Kuching. I called the hotel to change the date but can't. So, I lost my money.. for sure I can't refund it. This the very bad experience I get from Expedia. Tq

Reality check: you're not staying at the Hilton across the street. You get what you pay for, so don't expect too much. It's a very basic room with only 1 functional charging point. And the wifi is patchy (not a huge problem for me since I got a local sim card). But towels and water are provided (or you can reduce plastic waste by refilling your bottle at the lobby). And it's walking distance to a number of food options.

The room was extremely small for 2 persons. I cannot fit my luggage and need to put my luggage in front of toilet door. The breakfast was okay. No place to pray for muslim. We need to pray on the bed since space is small. If 1 person changing cloth, another person needs to be on the bed. To save space.

At first I had a terrible impression of the hotel. My room #247 was not acceptable. Upon my arrival, the floor was filthy (housekeeping came and swept it upon my request and she swept up quite a bit of dirt), the safe did not work, the bathroom ceiling leaked making the floor a wet mess, and the air conditioner did not work. Maintenance person Hafiz came to my rescue! He went downstairs and took care of switching my room for me, moving my luggage to the new room #116 and making sure everything in it worked properly. If it were not for him, I would be very unhappy with the check-in at the hotel. I was very upset with the first room, especially staying for 9 nights, but Hafiz helping me by arranging the new room made me happy again. After several days in the new room, it became apparent that it also had issues. The bathroom smelled like the sewer and it permeated the entire room, and the electricity in the room would go out multiple times per day. Also although the room was cleaned everything day, some days they gave me no bottled water or toilet paper, and some days they did not sweep. I would not stay here again.

We had an encounter where we were not given the aircon remote. And when they do gave us the remote it was of a different brand!! Of course the remote (General) won’t work with our room aircon (York). They had to go back and change the remote which took quite a while.

It’s very close to the Waterfront, clustered among other hotels. Walking distance to nearby food areas, and other streets. I spend most of the time in Kuching walking from the hotel, and really loved the location. Only thing I’d like to highlight is that the hotel is situated on a slope, so for some people it may be inconvenient, it wasn’t an issue for me. After a good meal at the Waterfront, walking back to the hotel sure helps. Overall, I really had no issues with the hotel and it’s facilities. It was great.

The location is good. However, the water heater sometimes working and sometimes not. Certain days, it is totally not working.
Air-con, is not working at all. Lucky there is the fan to use.
There is no floor mat to wipe the feet.

Just what I wanted, nothing more.

Perfectly serviceable hotel. Room was cheap, shower was hot and refreshing, bed was alright, AC was cold. That's all I was looking for. Room was quite small, but since it was just a short one day solo trip that was perfectly alright with me! Right on the Waterfront area, so there was plenty of cool stuff to see and do. Would definitely recommend.

Great budget accommodation in Kuching

Tune is a great choice of budget accommodation in Kuching city. It supplied us with toiletries, towels and free water as well as having great showers! Location is fantastic for the waterfront. Would recommend (as a group we stayed in double room and twin room but preferred double!)

It’s my second time staying here together with my wife. Cheap and cheerful. Cold air cond. Many power sockets in room

5min walking distance to the waterfront, 10mins walking to Topspot seafood center, old shopping malls Riverside and Sarawak plaza, and other interesting places. Convenience stores 7 Eleven are just uphill or downhill across the road.

My only personal gripe is that I cant watch World Cup in channel TV1 TV2 as there were no national TV channels to be seem.

Hotel with good location but disappointing toilet

The hotel was in a good location relatively close to lots of food in the area. There's even a bunch of food options just outside the back door of the hotel. The rooms were small but for the price it was quite satisfactory. However the part that would make us think twice about booking this hotel would be the toilet. The toilets are smelly. It might be a pipe or drainage problem as the smell never went away even after airing the toilet out.

Hotel is very minimalist in a slightly unflattering manner. Lack of a bedside table to put down your glasses or handphones brought about some inconveniences. Overall, it's what it is for a budget hotel.

Okay, recommended for budget stay

We booked four rooms for three nights. Check-in time is 2pm. We checked in at 3.10pm but we were told that two of our rooms were yet to be ready. We waited until 4pm to get our two rooms. Other than that, overall stay was good, friendly staffs, good wifi connection (required voucher per device), clean environment , adequate room space, strategic location. Now, wifi, TV and aircond are included in the room rate. No more EXTRA CHARGES. The only chargeable thing is breakfast but don't bother to get breakfast here. Restaurants and kopitiam are within walking distance. Go for local foods.
Downside : no specific parking area (but ample parking spaces nearby), only one water dispenser for the whole hotel, stagnant water on toilet floor
