The front desk staff could be more helpful. Reached early at 8.30 am, was told that early check in was not possible as hotel was full even though i offered to pay. Came back at 1 pm, only to be informed that no room will be available till 3 pm. Was tired so decided to sit in the lobby. As the person changed on the front desk, got a room at 1.15 pm. This left a poor taste. Generally stay at st James court, a taj property never faced this before.

This was an excellent stay for our journey to London. The location is great, quiet, and easy to navigate to many destinations. The room was a bit delayed for our check in, but we were able to be seated at the bar until the room was ready. The room is a bit outdated but comfortable with a touch of British feel. The only big con I have is that there are np mini fridges to store food and drink. That being said, everything else was fantastic with a special highlight to the service of the team. They are attentive and make the stay feel a bit more luxurious. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to coming back.

Unfortunately there was a long waiting time for our breakfast ( approx 50 mins) Staff apologised about wait time which was fine but when breakfast finally arrived, it was cold which makes me wonder if food was actually ready but just wasnt brought out. We couldn't wait for food to be re cooked as had a train to catch .

The service of the hotel staff is excellent. Polite and respectful people. However, we were surprised that the facilities in the room are very old. It is true that the style of the room is vintage, but it looks very old. In addition, the curtains almost fell off when we wanted to lift them. And the last thing: the shower is very simple. There is only a single water pipe from the ceiling and that's it. And this impairs the use of the shower.

The hotel is traditionally and warmly decorated but it is a little fraid at the edges and could do with minor repairs …… but the room was spotlessly clean and the bed and sheets were exceptional .
No gym and no arrangement with a local gym other than at a high cost is a huge disappointment for a five star hotel .

We didn’t order breakfast so cannot comment on that. Our room was immaculately clean and comfortable but we only had a double bed and I prefer a kingsize as a minimum.

Not a 5 star establishment. Rude, unfriendly and unhelpful staff especially Olaide and Abrar. Dingy dark space with no amenities or lounge. Rooms and space overall needs updating. ‘King’ bed has an uncomfortable crease down the middle and walls are paper thin you can hear the next guests snoring. Pascal and Roberto however were perfect examples of what 5 star service looks like.

Rooms were clean - decoration was very regal / old fashioned. Staff were super friendly. Great location. Only issue was service charge being added to everything including a general tip of £15 pp per stay when you are already charged premium prices with a 15% service charge added to everything . Breakfast was expensive at £38 pp for continental plus 15% and very basic so would advise to skip that and eat outside the hotel where there are plenty of great options!
