Room was quiet. Shower good and hot. Hotel manager was great. Not far from Central Train Station. Only issue is there are no bars close and not many restaurants within a 10 minute walk but if you walked 10-15 minutes there were a fair few options

Located from 5-10 mins. walk from Essen Hbf. Very quiet and staff is helpful. Free one glass of beer or coke is available at the time of check-in.
If you want to go shopping, go walk for 10 mins. and then you'll reach Limbecker Platz. There's REWE (supermarket) and you can grab some German sweets for gifts. :)

Basic but fine
The staff were very friendly. The hotel is clean, but I found it basic in terms of facilities, breakfast and decor. Cold tiled floors; bizarre electrics - lots of exposed cables and extension cables; bed far too soft; and a very basic breakfast. The staff are cool, so full marks to them. Easy walk to station and centre.

A short walk from Essen train station, the hotel is reasonable for the price. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size, with good heating and air-conditioning unit, a kettle with tea and coffee, a complimentary bottle of water. My room overlooked the car park at the back of the hotel so it was nice and peaceful, facing away from the busy road. The room wasn't spotless, but it was clean enough. There were dirty water marks on the wall and the radiator in the bathroom. The mug also had dried spots of coffee from the previous person, so I had to clean this myself before using it.

Close to everything I needed
I booked at the Art Hotel for a conference at Messe Essen in July. I arrived by train from the airport and could walk from the train station to the hotel, no need for a taxi! It is close to a pedestrian area with tons of shops, restaurants, metro/bus/train and grocery store. My room was HUGE and so comfortable. If you travel in the summer though, there is no AC in the room but they provide a fan in the room for those hot days! If I come back to Essen, I will stay there again for sure.

Service and stay was very good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and I slept well. Only reasons I made it a 4 overall: overhead light bulbs blew out in room after first night and was left without main lighting for remaining nights. Made it work with bedside lighting, but it was dark at night. Also, first room reeked of smoke and had to switch to alternate room. Had to hold breath when walking from elevator to my room due to strong smoke smell.

Praktisk beliggende tæt ved banegård og rimelig stille men et lidt kedeligt kvarter. Mit værelse var lille men pænt og rent med udmærket badeværelse og god seng. Vætelset lå ud til en parkeringsplads med skrald og gamle møbler. Receptionen er lukket efter kl 22 så efter det tidspunkt skal man låse sig ind ad en dør der tilgås via en lidt skummel sidegade.

This is a nice hotel at reasonable prices, situated in the citycentre. Certainly not a luxury hotel but good value for money. Very nice and attentative in the reception. I got a fairly big room with a balcony . also nice.
I didn´t use the breakfast so cannot comment on that. Internet was stable and fairly fast.

Ich war aufgrund eines Kongresses 5 Nächte in Essen. Sowohl Philharmonie, Zentrum als auch Messe sehr gut erreichbar. Zimmer auf gutem Standard (Boden allerdings komplett gefliest). Zimmer und Bad sauber und gerade in Richtung Innenhof auch sehr ruhig. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis top. Nicht gefrühstückt - daher nicht beurteilbar.

Ich komme seit Jahren hier geschäftlich ins Hotel. Immer ein netter Empfang, immer geht es schnell und zügig. Und immer wieder komme ich gerne hier her. Man ist in wenigen Minuten in der Innenstadt oder am Bahnhof. In den Seitenstraßen kann man kostenlos parken. Die kleinen Restaurants gegenüber bieten was brauchbares an. Und in der Zigarrenlounge ist man in 10 Minuten zu Fuß.

Leider war hinter meiner Tür beim schließen Zigarettenstummel und anderer Dreck.. Insgesamt aber war das Zimmer schön. Leider nachts sehr laut, da die Türen aus Holz und auf der Straßenseite des Hotels (Fenster musste geschlossen sein). Ansonsten war das Bad sauber. Habe mich wohl gefühlt, würde wieder kommen.

Sehr freundliches Empfangspersonal , Sauberkeit ist auch völlig in Ordnung, Zimmer sind schön ,Bett groß und gemütlich TV völlig ausreichend, Dusche ist mit Glaswand ausgestattet und sauber, unsere Balkone waren sehr Mini aber für uns okay , diese waren Stühlen ausgestattet. Tee, Kaffee und Cappuccino gibt es kostenlos im Zimmer , die Zimmer sind mit einem Wasserkocher, Tassen, Gläsern und einer Wasserflasche ausgestattet.
Frühstück ist für den zu bezahlenden Betrag wirklich gut, frische Brötchen Aufschnitt, Rührei etc. Müsli ist super , Kaffee und O-Saft. Alles sehr sauber und ordentlich. Und trotz Corona Buffet , war wirklich super.
Check-out war problemlos.

Problemet var nok Corona-nedlukning, som gjorde, at hotellet virkede meget tomt. Det gjorde også, at receptionen var låst i lange perioder, så man ikke kunne få instant kaffe, når de to kopper var drukket.
Da jeg var på en researchrejse og derfor spurgte til forskellige lokaliteter i byen, var personalet ikke til stor hjælp.
Men min kone og jeg havde en god oplevelse, både i byen og på hotellet.
Problemet var nok Corona-nedlukning, som gjorde, at hotellet virkede meget tomt. Det gjorde også, at receptionen var låst i lange perioder, så man ikke kunne få instant kaffe, når de to kopper var drukket.

Ich liebe es hier her zu kommen. Wenn ich nach Essen fahre, was immer wieder passiert, schaue ich als erstes ob hier was frei ist. Man wird immer sehr nett und kompetent empfangen. Die Zimmer sind toll ausgestattet und wirklich schön gemacht. Alles ist absolut sauber. Parken kann man Nachts vor der Tür, oder auf dem Hotelparkplatz.

La chambre d'hotel vraiment top, très grande, lit double, quatre chaises, un bureau. Etrangement qu'une douche dans la salle de bains! Très bien situé aussi pour la centre ville qui facilite l'accès aux restaurants.
Coté un peu negative, c'était trop proche d'une rue assez importante avec le bruit de la circulation et la lumière des lampadaires.

Das Zimmer nach hinten raus war geräumig und sauber! Das Bett war super bequem. Highlight: Das Frühstücksbuffet am nächsten Morgen. Es gab gute Backwaren und eine große Auswahl an hochwertigen Wurst- und Käsesachen. Frischen O-Saft zum selbst pressen und viel Platz an den Tischen.

Ich wurde gefragt, ob ich frühstücken möchte. Als ich sagte, dass ich vor 6:00 Uhr das Haus verlassen muss, wurde nüchtern nur \"dann fällt Frühstück flach\" geantwortet. Beim Check-Out gegen halb sechs am nächsten Morgen fehlte mir die Information, wo ich den Schlüssel platzieren soll. Ebenfalls ist aus irgend einem mir nicht bekannten Grund (Rezeption konnte mir auch nicht sagen warum) der Aufzug ausgeschaltet. Musste meinen Koffer vom vierten Stock über die Treppe nach unten schleppen. Das wusste die Rezeption vorher, aber es wird wohl davon ausgegangen, dass man dann trotzdem so hoch übernachten möchte. Ansonsten war alles o.k.

Beste Wahl für Essen, vor allem für Zugreisende
Super zentral am Hauptbahnhof, alle Mitarbeiter super freundlich und ein super Service: Zur Begrüßung gab's ein Bier, zum Abschied Schokolade. Auch das Zimmer zur Straße war ruhig, das Wlan sehr schnell. Beim nächsten Mal werde ich wieder im Art Hotel Körschen übernachten!
