This lovely hotel is well positioned for a stay in St Ives. It’s out of the town which makes parking and travelling around very easy. You can catch a bus or taxi to the centre easily. The restaurant could be improved - if you had a great chef in the hotel - this place would be awesome. At the moment it’s pretty hard to get cooked toast with your poached eggs at breakfast. The staff too are pretty changeable some are fantastic - others one guy in particular, tired and in need of a holiday himself.
Luckily there’s a fab Spanish restaurant down the road - walking distance - which is a great spot for dinner.

Rooms are fabulous however in my opinion the dining areas need attention - amongst the lovely wing back chairs are rattan dining chairs which aren’t suited to the masculine decor. The sister hotel, Carbis Bay Hotel, is devine, I was surprised that when I asked about eating out it wasn’t recommended. Dining experience at the Gannet was very average.

Car park too small. Room was clean and nicely furnished. Shower room way too small and the shower leaked giving the shower and bedroom a damp smell. Outside area doesn’t have enough seating. Overall although quite pleasant it doesn’t warrant the price point.

Great location and a beautiful property. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. One of the few places in Cornwall with actually good coffee!

The hotel had a particularly good restaurant for dinner, the included breakfast, and afternoon Cornish Cream Tea.

The walk to Corbis Bay beach is quite steep but only takes about 10 minutes and the beach is great. The walk to St Ives takes 45-60 minutes and is one of the prettiest coastal walks anywhere. I think most people take the bus to St. Ives (you want to avoid parking there) but be sure to leave time for a walk at least once.

Lovely sea view room but we had an attic room so have a sore head due to forgetting to duck. Excellent restaurant with an attractive menu, Sunday lunch especially good. Had the option of limited use of spar facilities ar sister hotel Carbis Bay but did not take up this option.

Poor service and tired guest house

Service at check in was terrible. The person was really rude and argued about whether it had been paid in advance (which it had) without properly checking. No apology. Room and corridors in annex were tired and needing refurbishment. No where near the £305 a night standard.

Have just returned from a wonderful 7 night stay at the Gannet Inn. Hotel is impeccably clean and the staff are friendly and helpful.
The location is perfect, the food both at breakfast and dinner was superb. Would highly recommend.

A lovely boutique hotel although in need of some refurbishment in places, e.g. worn stair carpet. The hotel is in a great location for easy access to Carbis Bay and St. Ives by train or on foot.

Lovely staff and life restoring cream tea on arrival after a 7 hour train journey down! Along the main road into St Ives (uphill on the way back from St Ives and Carbis Bay train station) otherwise very comfy and convenient!

Ideal for what we wanted..

Had a lovely stay at the Gannet - great location, only a 5 minute walk from Carbis Bay front. The room was really ‘cosy’ with not much space at all, and the water for the shower was warm, rather than hot. Aside from that it was a lovely stay, with a fantastic breakfast each morning!

Decent Hotel, spoilt by the room size and noise

The Gannet Inn is well located with ample parking. The staff were pleasant and friendly. The hotel was clean and covid precautions were taken seriously, which was reassuring. My main issue was the room was incredibly small with barely enough room around the bed, and though there was a small chair if it was sat in it tight to the wall, the other person could not get around other than climbing over the bed. The bathroom was also incredibly small with the basin too close to the shower, and trying to get in and out of the bathroom was compromised by the door. The noise damping was poor and the sound of doors closing along the corridor and talking of other guests felt like they were in your room! Our room overlooked the car park and late at night with the window ajar we could hear staff talking loudly outside post midnight. The room with breakfast was £180+ per night and my expectation was that the Gannet was a decent hotel but based on the room and noise issues, was definitely overpriced

Welcome on arrival was excellent, very friendly and helpful. Cleanliness was spot on, in the hotel areas and our room. Overnight the seagulls were disturbing from around 4am, as we had to have the windows open as it was a warm night. Our room (wagtail) was beautifully decorated and very well appointed.

Have had to think long and hard to find something to criticise. The average age of residents in the week we stayed was probably 60+ yet the music played in the lounge and dining room sounded like a stream from Radio 1 - and it was loud!

This hotel is super nice. We got a free upgrade to a room with a beach view. The room was really nicely decorated and the bathroom was very modern. The restaurant was great and breakfast was awesome. Also, you get to use the spa at a sister property right by the beach for free! It's easy to get to St. Ives by car or walking (30 min walk along the water). Definitely recommended.

Lovely boutique hotel

We stayed here for two nights on a child-free babymoon trip.

The hotel is beautifully clean, modern and comfortable with a beautiful sea view from our room. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Free parking at the hotel was also available.

We were also given full use of all of the facilities of the sister hotel, The Carbis Bay, just a short walk/drive away. Alongside this we were given a pack of discount vouchers to use against food, cream teas and spa treatments!

A thoroughly enjoyable break; thank you!

Lovely hotel, sound proofing needs improving

Hotel room and food were great, staff very friendly and happy to help. We stayed in Room 2 which however didn't appear to benefit from the sound proofing as advertised in hotel description and were woken up by a gentleman in the room above been unfortunately and loudly unwell in the bathroom at 6am. We notified the hotel who were very understanding and offered us a room in another hotel on the road.
To get to the beach you need to walk down a VERY steep path so requires you to be fairly fit in order to walk back up!

Comfortable and clean. I asked for fresh milk for my room for cup of tea.
Be prepared to carry your luggage up two flights of stairs, you need to be fit.
There was a problem with the door handle inside the room, I reported it and it was promptly fixed.
Both the shower and the hairdryer were seriously good.

Friendly staff, beautiful and tastefully decorated hotel, lovely breakfast, excellent facilities-our room was 3 weeks old. Free carpark - a bit snugg but they were fully booked. Clean and spotless, great soft furnishings, sister hotel access and discounts offered. Lovely staff, would go back.

Boutique hotel for a relaxing Cornish experience

Fantastic boutique hotel. Friendly and attentive staff and high spec decoration and attention to detail. High quality restaurant for evening meals, alongside serving a great breakfast with a broad number of meal options which could be amended as desired.

Providing a truly relaxing experience, the Gannet Inn surpassed our expectations for a typical weekend getaway hotel. Close to local amenities such as a Carbis Bay beach and a few minutes walk to the local train station, the hotel gave the option to explore locally or take the car further afield.

We would highly recommend this hotel for a short break to a longer duration holiday.

hotel nuovo, a 2km ca da St Ives, camere molto carine e otima colazione. Un po' disturbato dalla strada sulla quale si affaccia e dalla scarsa insonorizzazione delle camere.
