We absolutely loved this hotel and cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff were lovely, so helpful, particular thanks to Jenny for recommendations for activities, helping us with taxis, allowing us to store our luggage after check out as we had a late flight. Situated in Imerovigli, perfect for the lovely walk into Thira and if you feel more adventurous the walk to Oia - stunning views of the sunsets - lovely pool and there is a bar and food available on site which is handy for those sunbathing lazy days! - Great communications before we arrived, arranging pick up etc. A wonderful experience, thanks again to Jenny and the team for making it so

If I could give Jenny and her crew more than 5 stars I would. Everything was excellent. We stayed 6 nights and they were very accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and the room was well stocked. I highly recommend the room with the spa on the patio. Worth the extra cost for the privacy. Be prepared to climb a lot of steep stairs getting in and out of the hotel but that's Santorini. My only negative if you can call it one is they don't stock hair conditioner, only shampoo but there's a market very close that has everything you need.

We got unexpected upgrade to sister property of Avaton about 200m away. The suite we got was very luxurious - two balconies. Only disappointment was the original room we booked at Regina Mare had the patio plunge pool faced directly into sunset, but replacement room at Avaton was North so we were not able to sit in tub and enjoy end of day sunshine an sunset.

Very nice feature was in-room breakfast that we ordered the night before. All balconies and suite was very private. Great bed and linen.

Regina Mare was everything we hoped for while visiting Santorini. Jenny and her staff were wonderful, they were so helpful and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Jenny shared a lot of tips for visiting the island, from great restaurants, to catamaran trips to using the public bus system. We had a fabulous stay and couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Had an amazing stay at this Hotel. We were met by staff where our transfer dropped us off. Staff carried our bags down the 110 steps to the hotel (and back up when we departed). We were introduced to Jenny who gave us a good rundown of the area with a map and then shown to our room. The view from this hotel is stunning. Location is away from all the hustle and bustle of cruise passengers visiting the island. 20 Minute scenic walk to Firostefani. 2 Euro public bus ride to Oia from the bus stop, 15 min walk away. Amazing Staff, amazing location, clean, breakfast by the pool overlooking the Caldera. It doesn't get better. I would 100% stay here again.

We loved our time at Regina Mare in Santorini. We had a stunning view of the caldera from our balcony. Every morning, the staff delivered breakfast directly to our room, and set it up on the balcony, so we could enjoy the view while we had our coffee. The staff at reception was amazing, offering recommendations upon our arrival, and checking in with us throughout our stay. They truly went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time on our honeymoon.

The hotel is located in Imerovigli, which is a nice quiet location compared to others on the island (like Oia or Fira). That being said, it's only a 20-min walk to get to Fira, a central hub where you have plenty of choices for shopping, dining, and more.

We loved Regina Mare Hotel! It was clean, comfortable, stylish and friendly.
It's hard to find a comfortable bed in Greece and this one was great as were the pillows too.
Everything was kept immaculately clean and the staff were lovely.
The breakfast on your balcony was tasty, fresh and filling and the views over the sea and the sunset were stunning.
We would definitely recommend staying here, although as with most places in Imerovigli, there are steps up and down to reach the main walk way.

Perfect place to stay in Santorini

Wow! My wife and I had the best time at Regina Mare. The view from our room was better than the pictures and in our opinion the best on the island. The staff were all welcoming and extremely helpful whether booking reservations, or giving recommendations. They truly care about giving good service. We booked a honeymoon room but were generously offered an upgrade to a delux suite. The room was clean spacious and extremely comfortable.

We really enjoyed our breakfast in the morning that is brought to you on the balcony. The food we ordered from their menu was great as well. Their tzaziki with fries was a great afternoon snack.

The location is about a 30 minute walk to some of the larger villages. We really enjoyed watching the sunset from our balcony and walking the beautiful path towards Fira for dinner. Overall we didnt mind the distance and the peace and quiet you get from the bustle of the main towns is soo worth it. The hotel has a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere that was perfect for our vacation.

Comfortable bed however AC unit faced the door leading outside therefore the bathroom and bedroom didn’t get as cool as I would have liked. With the hotel being private (no one walking past your room) you do have to walk a significant distance from the parking area. But the view is worth it.

The rooms were very clean and nice. Pool and the views were awesome.

It’s important to call the hotel 10 minutes before arrival in order to get help with your baggage, as the hotel is in a pedestrian area that is a good 150 meters from the street.

Helen and the other employees were extremely friendly, and helpful.

If you like hiking, the walk to Oia is spectacular, 2.5 hours.

We wanted to stay in Imerovigli searching for the right hotel. It was my GF's bday so it was important to get it right. The process, if you're reading this you obviously know , is quite difficult.
If you are reading this feel secure that the pictures and the 5 star reviews of the Regina Mare are 100% accurate although the pictures don't do the location of the hotel the justice it deserves. The beauty of the pics of Santorini show white glistening hotels and buildings next to each other dotting the hillsides they are built into. Makes a great picture but visiting a number of them while there, eating at restaurants overlooking them, they lack the privacy that the Regina Mare provides. Its truly amazing as you see only one hotel barely to the south and nothing but mountain to the north and in front and below nothing but mountain terrain and the sea.. It truly feels like a separate piece of paradise. Sitting by the pool at sunset watching the brilliantly gold sun gently drop into the horizon is breathtaking. It feels as if you're on an ocean liner's balcony in the middle of sea. We saw a number of sunsets from various locations, and sitting at the hotel was the best. The rooms are all different, depends on your budget, you won't be disappointed. There are a few small rooms surrounding the pool you should try and avoid though. Its a bit of a walk to get there from the cab but so well worth it. Helen the manager is amazingly wonderful and the staff is warm and friendly! Book it!

Beautiful hotel with a fantastic view of the caldera. Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially with baggage (it's a bit of a climb down to the hotel). They will also help you book taxis and tours! The town is a little smaller than others we visited on Santorini, so the options for restaurants/bars were limited. Overall, this is a beautiful location and the sunset view is one of the best you can find! Just be prepared to climb lots of stairs and head to another town if you are looking for a livelier night. Would definitely recommend!

Regina Mare is an \"Adults Only\" hotel, which suits us. Although far from being isolated, it is very quiet and intimate. The rooms are typically Santorinian, which could be described as basic if you have only experienced 5 star Western edifices. However, there is everything you need for a relaxing, fabulous holiday.

Regina Mare is located in the village of Imerovigli north of Fira. It's within walking distance of Fira along the caldera walking path but is much quieter. It sits on the rim of the caldera with beautiful views and an excellent sunset.
The rooms are clean and modern with sea views. The buffet breakfast is served from by the pool and you can eat there or take it to your own patio or balcony. Breakfast consists of English type breakfast food and a good selection of Greek food, along with sweet items.
Unlike a lot of hotels along the caldera all the Regina Mare's patios and balconies are private and not overlooked or bordered by the path.
The staff are excellent and can arrange trips or just give advice.
It is an excellent hotel to stay in.

My wife and I stayed at Regina Mare for eight days on our honeymoon. WE LOVED IT! We rented the honeymoon suite, which came complete with our own private balcony and hot tub. It was the perfect place to spend our days watching the boats jut around the Caldera and catch a perfect view of stunning sunsets every night. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent! Maria and the whole team really made us feel welcome and cared for. We would HIGHLY recommend staying with our friends at Regina Mare. The location of the hotel was perfect – within walking distance of Fira and along the hiking path to Oia. Imerovigli is a great place to stay if you want close walking access to all of the happening spots in Santorini, while being able to go back to your place whenever you want to get away from the crowds. It was the trip of a lifetime and one we will never forget – thanks in large part to the kindness, excellence, and professionalism of the Regina Mare team.

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. The breakfast buffet had a very nice variety, even for us vegetarians. Helen checked us in and out and is such a wonderful woman. She made us feel welcomed and relaxed after a long day of delayed travel. We had a deluxe suite and it was perfect. The room was very clean and spacious. Our favorite part was the private balcony with jacuzzi. The views are outstanding!! There’s a lot of walking and stairs, but it’s definitely worth it ! You won’t be disappointed staying here.

Probably one of the best hotels in Imerovigli IMO. The pool is a good size and along with our room are both shielded from the public walking along the cliff edge path. (Not all hotels have this kind of privacy in the area). Excellent service and excellent breakfast with loads of options. View from the hotel is one of the best in the area. The room occasionally had an \"interesting\" smell but that's probably the only criticism.

From check in until check out they were courteous and went out of their way to provide good service.

We were booked for 3 nights, 1 of which in a different room type. However, Maria upgraded us for the 2 nights and let us remain in the same room for the 3rd night which was really appreciated.

The views were incredible, as good as anywhere. Breakfast was great and the hotel was in a quiet part of the island.

We were so happy we barely left our balcony - would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel with amazing views

This hotel is located in the town of Imerovigli, which is in between the towns of Fira and Oia. The views are amazing from this hotel and you will see incredible sunsets! I highly recommend getting a hotel room with the spa/jacuzzi on the outside deck if possible, but all rooms are nice. The staff are very pleasant and very helpful. There are great restaurants a short walk away and the hike to Oia is about 4 miles, which you should consider doing at some point during your stay. The hotel also has information about and can help arrange for special tours - they helped us with reserving a catamaran tour of the nearby islands. I would definitely come back again!

Access: generally difficult in Santorini due to cliff side position, no close drop off, staff are very helpful and will carry your luggage down to the hotel.
Welcome and Staff: lovely and welcoming.
View: Stunning view of caldera
Position: Nice position with a 45min walk to Thira, more difficult 2hr walk to Oia, but worth doing for those able to with appropriate footwear
Breakfasts: extensive and excellent, eaten overlooking the stunning view
Lunches and Dinners: available but we didn't eat there, but try Mezzo
Lounge areas: not extensive with small but adequate pool Small hotel so no problem finding loungers or table to sit at
Rooms: the main problem we felt was the room, although pleasant enough was small and a little basic. The advertised superior room we stayed in was perhaps at best a standard size in normal terms, but I suspect could be normal for that particular location. We became used to it especially as our time was best spent on the loungers enjoying the sun and view.
On the whole an enjoyable stay, the staff were very helpful in finding us a room for an additional night as our ferry to Crete was cancelled due to industrial action

Breathtaking location, warm welcome from the team.

Hotel was tricky to find at first, but we could have rang the hotel who would have come and collected are cases and directed us. Hotel looked exactly, if not better than website. Great food at the hotel, breakfast always something different to try. Good restaurants within walking distance. Steps in the heat a challenge but then it is Santorini and you wouldn't want to change it. We hired a car, parking not always easy but it gave us ease of access to the whole island which we covered easily within a week. The sunset from the hotel is stunning, grab a cold beer and watch. We visited Oia both by day and night, at night the cheers go out as the sun finally leaves, a real experience, especially if followed by a meal for in a rooftop restaurant as we did.

Unbelievable hotel with the best view in Santorini

A slice of heaven on earth
A bit of a challenge to get there - lots of steps and windy path but it's worth the journey - It is truly heaven on earth. Don't plan to go out much - just relax at the pool and enjoy the hotel and the spectacular sunset. The food at the hotel was superb. Breakfast was out of this world with huge yummy variety. Staff could not do enough for us. Tranquil and relaxing. I would def go back, but don't take the short cut to get there - the longer route is long but safer.

Great hotel with an amazing view. The pool was small but clean, wasn't really an issue since the hotel is small, there weren't too many people. We stayed in a junior suite which was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good and varied each morning.
Everything here was wonderful except for two things: the hotel is on a cliff face so you have to go up and down a lot of steps...if you don't mind that it's fine but if you have trouble with stairs take that into consideration. The other is a small issue but worth mentioning because they were pretty bad...the bath towels were terrible...like sandpaper on your skin after a day in the sun. For such a nice hotel, consider upgrading the towels!

Honeymoon from Hawaii to Santorini!

Several aspects of the regina mare made our trips special.

1 - The view is just outstanding! Plain and simple, better than from Fira or Oia since you get to see sunset (Fira gets obstructed) and you have a full view of the caldera (Oia you either look at sunset or at caldera, cannot see both). The other thing is that at Regina Mare, you don't have other hotels looking into each other properties, it is kind of secluded which makes it very private.

2 - room, pool, jacuzzi, facilities were all excellent. There is a patio where you can have breakfast and admire the view. It is all excellent!

3 - They have a complimentary breakfast, and it is NOT your usual continental breakfast. It is all home made cooked little dishes, made in house. Feta dishes, eggpplant dishes, crepes, bread, croissant, cakes, greek yogurt, just to name a few... It can be a meal by itself, and it is savory! It is made from scratch!

4 - what made my stay special? Their STAFF - excellent! Maria at the front desk, the lady making breakfast, their two \"bellmen\" (they actually do everything!) - All this staff made my wife and I feel special! Special thanks to the two guys (one Romanian, the other from Baltic sea), these guys run the show!

Honeymoon was as success! I am really glad we pick this hotel

Loved it!!

Regina Mare is a cute small hotel, similar to many other ones on Santorini - perched on the side of the mountain just daring you to spread your arms wide and take in the breathtaking caldera view. What made our stay so extraordinary was the pleasant staff,especially Maria who went out of her way seemingly every day to make our days/plans very enjoyable. She arranged a catamaran tour, obtained a rental car for us, and even gave us a free from upgrade on our final night. The free breakfast blows any American continental breakfast out of the water. Eggs, fruits, yogurts, local pasteries and much much more. The pool is large by Santorini standards. The location is very nice as it overlooks the caldera but is in a quiet, private neighborhood. But for nightlife, Imerogvili is a 15min walk from Fira.

The only downside was that our original room was small-ish and the wifi didn't work well in the room (but was fine out on the patio), which we didn't mind that much since we didn't spend much time indoors. Our upgraded room was quite lovely and spacious.

We probably took a 100 selfies on the patio of the caldera, and we'd love to go back and take 100 more (and say yah sas to the staff).

The service was second to none. So helpful and lovely all the time, the staff couldn't do enough for us. Upgraded us to another room, the space was amazing and private. A must stay resort. Food and breakfast was perfect, and we will be booking with them again when we return :) thanks Regina Mare for making our trip unforgettable

Regina Mare - 3 day getaway.

Perfect location, incredible view, excellent breakfast, friendly and very helpful staff... no need to do anything - how a vacation should be. Short flight from Athens. Would stay there again.
