This place is absolutely perfect, all around. Not a single bad thing to say. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing resort slightly off the beaten path, this is your spot. If you’re looking for a crowd or a party- go elsewhere!

We stayed in the Avaton Suite for our anniversary. Overall the hotel was great location lots of restaurants in the local area, hotel employees were very responsive and the room and the views from the balcony were beautiful. However, breakfast was atrocious, limited choice, have to order the night before and have to eat it in your room, the food is consistently cold upon arrival, meager portions (e.g. mini croissants and cocktail sausages instead of full sized items), multiple times was delivered at the wrong time, the sausage and bacon were very greasy and I suspect cooked in a dirty pan and one occasion I even found plastic in my food. The \"restaurant\" closes at 7pm apparently so we never tried it. The Indoor spa bathroom facilities often dirty and only cleaned once a day. No effort was made, when I had informed them it was our anniversary which was the reason for the stay, while I understand they are not obligated to do anything, it was disappointing and showed lack of attention to detail/hospitality. The hotel also run out of water/had the water shut off without warning, the morning we checked out so we were unable to use the bathroom or shower before our flight home which was very uncomfortable for a long journey. For those booking the Avaton suite, it is directly next door to the reception so zero privacy and can hear constant chatter from guests and staff. The room is beautiful but the overall experience was a let down and certainly poor value for money.

We had a wonderful stay at Avaton Resort & Spa.
The views from the hotel are absolutely magnificent, especially during sunset. Watching the sun go down over the caldera was one of the highlights of our trip. The location is also excellent, with beautiful walking paths nearby and within walking distance of Skaros Rock, making it easy to enjoy some of the most scenic hikes in Santorini.
The staff was attentive, friendly, and always willing to help, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We truly appreciated their hospitality and professionalism.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay here again on a future visit to Santorini. Highly recommended!

Our stay at Avaton Resort and Spa was absolutely amazing, and the hospitality truly made our trip special.
From the moment we arrived, the front desk gentleman went completely above and beyond for us. He was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making sure we had the best experience possible. No matter what we needed — recommendations, assistance, or help coordinating things during our stay — he handled everything with such professionalism and warmth.
The resort itself was beautiful, relaxing, and very well maintained. The atmosphere was peaceful, the rooms were comfortable, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations.
What stood out most was the exceptional customer service. It’s rare to meet someone who puts so much effort into making guests feel cared for, and we truly appreciated everything he did for us during our stay.
We would absolutely recommend Avaton Resort and Spa to anyone visiting Santorini and would happily stay here again in the future.

No need to go to Oia for sunset!
Staff was very attentive and courteous.

Our 5 night stay at The Avaton was wonderful! The staff did everything they could to make it as amazing as possible for us from the moment we arrived. We had an upgraded room and excellent service throughout our stay. They organised restaurant bookings for us and the couples massage was the best treatment we have ever had! Convenient location for strolling into Fira of an evening, when it was cooler. Every was perfect! Thank you so so much 😊

Lovely peaceful hotel with the most stunning views.

Treat yourself to an amazing vacation at Avaton!
Staying at the Avaton Tesort and Spa has been the greatest treat so far. Not only were there beautiful views and rooms but the accommodations were nothing short of luxury. We received a great breakfast and good coffee every morning and had access to their wonderful spa facilities. To top it all off Efthimis and Xrisoula were both amazing receptionists! They made our stay exceptional.
Derek
The view was great and staff is amazing

Loved the area. Spa was excellent and just what we needed after long hikes. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Helped that they spoke very good English
Michael
Amazing location, staff and property with views. In somewhere slightly quieter than fira or oia, this is perfect escape the crowds without being too far from anything. The staff are over the top attentive and will help with any request, absolutely brilliant. Among the best places ive ever stayed.

Wonderful staff!

Being an adults only hotel was a big plus.

Excellent from start to finish. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and fulfilled my requests totally for when we arrived until we left. Wouldn’t hesitate to return to Avaton again.

The personnel was nice, helpful and treated us great during our honeymoon! The view is the best in Santorini.
Nancy
Amazing staff who were there for our every need. Amazing location as well with a beautiful view of the caldera and Oia, easy access to the hike from Thera to Oia and middle location for easy access around the whole island while being away from the crowds.
Justin
Perfection! Private, classy, exceptional staff and location; I could go on and on. This hotel is located in the perfect spot for the best sunset view in santorini; highest point on the caldera but only 15/20 min walk down to the bars and clubs. We took a taxi home each night for 15 Euros. Thank you Bessy and all the staff who made our vacation one to remember.

The Avaton is Fantastic!
The Avaton was fantastic. It is kind of at the end of the “tourist” areas before you get to Oia which makes it nice and quiet compared to Fira or Firostefani. The honeymoon suite, room 1, had the best views out of all the rooms. The pool deck is shared but incredibly beautiful. We did not find better views throughout our travels in Santorini. Bessy and Zoe at the front desk are so helpful and are constantly checking on you to ensure you are attended to. They provide wonderful recommendations and will book you whatever you need. If you follow their advice, you will have a great time in Santorini. We absolutely loved the Avaton and would be back in an instant!

Best sunset view
Great hotel, small discrete, personable with the best sunset view in Santorini.

Beautiful view. Excellent service.

Best hotel in Santorini with pool sunset view
We were picked up at the airport and taken care of until we reached the beautiful hotel on the edge of the famous Santorini caldera. The view is just breathtaking.
All hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Rarely have we been able to enjoy such hospitality anywhere else. It's really an outstanding service provided by the Avaton Resort staff.
We had a room on the upper floor called \"deluxe room\" (totally worth the premium!). It is equipped with a private balcony which is overlooking the pool and the caldera. Every morning a friendly staff member brought us the complimentary breakfast to our balcony, which we ordered the evening before. Having breakfast in such an intimate atmosphere is a fantastic way to start the day.
The hotel convinced us in all aspects: infinity pool (wow!), restaurant (delicious & fast!), cleanliness & equipment of the room (perfect!). The best thing was the staff, who really cared for the guests with an above-and-beyond service mentality.
Thank you very much for this unforgettable experience despite the COVID-19 situation, you guys are incredible!

Perfect quiet boutique resort w/ a great view!
The Avaton Resort was perfect for our three night stay in Santorini. From the moment we checked in until check-out, the service was impeccable. We had dinner the first night we checked in, and it was as if we had our own private little restaurant. The room was very spacious, the bed was comfortable, shower pleasant and the view walking out your door to the pool overlooking the caldera was breathtaking. You have your own personal spot to watch the sunset each night! We thoroughly enjoyed the personalized breakfast delivered to our patio each morning, so we could dine overlooking the water. I discovered my new love for espresso fredo. Imerovigli is certainly more on the quiet side - so if you are looking to be more in the mix of things, then I'd say you're better off in Fira or Oia. There are plenty of restaurants nearby that are some of the best on the island. We took a catamaran cruise one day and a wine tour the next, and the pickup spot was a 5 minute walk away and very convenient. Transportation is hard to come by on the island, but the resort is more than glad to make arrangements for car service. We did walk back from Fira one night, which took about 35 minutes. There is a walkway right behind the resort that leads to Fira and Oia in respective directions. We could not have asked for a better stay.

Everything is perfect about this hotel! We had a free upgrade to a bigger suite with perfect sunset view. Staff are friendly and helpful! Hotel room, breakfast, hotel amenities and location are excellent! Totally worth the money!!!
Suzanne
Fantastic staff, incredibly attentive to every need! Loved the location, quiet but halfway between the south and north ends of the island. Not crowded like Oia, but beautiful views!

Honeymoon stay at Avaton
Our stay at Avaton was awesome. Such a great way to end our honeymoon trip to Greece! The location is awesome, with an amazing view, and spacious, comfortable and clean rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast outside on the terrace every morning was a very nice touch.

Honeymoon!
Amazing experience. The view is fantastic, much more luxurious than anything in Fira. About a 40 min walk to Fira and 2 1/2 hour hike to Oia. Bring running shoes! You can also take bus or taxi. The staff at Avaton made the resort. Everyone is there to make sure your stay is perfect. Breakfast is delicious served right on your patio. The spa is also very nice. Would definitely stay here again. 5 Stars all around.

I was very pleased and satisfied overall with the resort, the staff and my stay. The most genuine, courteous and friendly persons i’ve met. Avaton Resort met and exceeded my expectations. By far the best hotel with the best view. Thank you for

Excellent value, great view, very clean, & more!
We had an excellent stay at the Avaton. The view from our patio was spectacular, we'd watch the sunset behind the mountain daily! The service was great, everyone was very attentive. The room was very clean and the food was great. We'd definitely stay again.

Incredible. Everyone was very sweet, hospitable, and couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Amazing hotel. Its super clean. Cleaning service twice a day. Breakfast is amazing and in the room, always on time. The guy who brings the breafast was just the best!! The people is awesome and the view better than perfect! The staff was very helpful. They booked us the best tables in all restaurants. Everything was really perfect. The only bad thing was the restaurant. In-room service super expansive and not worth it. We hate one night at the hotel, and maybe our expectations were very high because of the overall experience of the hotel but... this was really an overall 6 out 10 for the dinner (food, ambiance and staff)z

Fantastic hotel, stunning location and great staff
My wife and I stayed 5 nights at Avaton and I have to say we had an amazing time. It is a fantastic hotel with a stunning location and a great team who can’t do enough to make you comfortable and relaxed. A great range of restaurants within walking distance and a lovely spa. Thanks to all of the team for making our holiday so amazing!

Perfect Place To Enjoy Serenity
Avaton Resoert and Spa is the perfect place in Santorini to enjoy calmness, peace, relaxation, and the perfect spot to view the sunset. Our balcony is in the line of site to the sunset. You don't have to go to Oia to view it perfectly. Avaton being located in Imerovigli, is in the middle of Oia and Fira and this makes it a perfect place to enjoy everything which includes hiking to Skaros Rock, walk to Fira, and hike to Oia. The whole staff is really great and they really treated us very special. I can say that this is the best hotel we've ever stayed so far in our years of traveling. I can also attest that all the many positive reviews in here are true. Thanks Avaton for making our vacation one of the best.

Honeymoon treat
We had a wonderful time at Avaton resort and spa. The staff went out of their way to make us feel incredibly welcome and were also very friendly. The rooms were modern but still had that Santorini feel. We ordered room service a couple of times and the smoked salmon sandwich (bagel) is to die for. We loved the location, we felt like we were the only hotel on the island. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants a romantic stay in a beautiful place.

Amazing!!
This place is amazing. The view is just like it looks in the pictures. The staff is great, and friendly! The breakfast is amazing and personalized every morning for their guests. They bring it to your room! It's in walking distance (40 min) from the capital and a little town. The only thing I would have changed differently is that there is no privacy in the bathroom and shower. The toilet only has a glass door, and it is separate from the shower that was the only con. The food at the restaurant is good and the pool area is amazing both inside and out. We would definitely go back!

Awesome views, star treatment
Better than we thought it would be, although it was very difficult to find...we parked far away down the hill and had to carry all of our luggage. That was not fault of the hotel though. Daily breakfast is awesome, although there was a mix-up on our last day so our breakfast was late. The hosts/concierges were helpful and attentive. Wonderful views from the resort, and fun walks to the different parts of the island. An outdoor jacuzzi/spa would make the place even better though. Regardless, we plan on returning for another visit in a couple of years.

Beautiful but Windy on top of high point of island
Great staff, rooms and spa, but when weather is windy it is probably one of the most exposed spots on the island.

Stunning Hotel. Wonderful Staff.
Truly a fantastic hotel where every member of staff will make sure you have a magical time. Incredible views, great spa, delicious food! Superb & very highly recommended!

The Perfect Place
Wow, we were blown away by everything here.....the staff, the accommodations, the food, the spa, the location. This is one of the newer hotels in the area so everything was nice, well designed and clean. If you're looking for one on one service it really doesn't get any better than this. Panos and the entire staff are there for your every need. We almost felt like we had personal concierge service. They helped us with transportation arrangements, dinner reservations and every little thing we had a question on. The view from everywhere in the hotel is amazing. It's the perfect sunset spot, at least in July when we were there. The overall experience felt like a second honeymoon for us and it's one of the places that you'll will always want to come back to. Loved it!

Stunning boutique hotel in Imerovigli
Fantastic location with stunning views of the Caldera. Really great service from all the friendly staff - and excellent breakfasts. A really lovely boutique hotel!

Great hotel, good location
Great room, delicious breakfasts, good location and not overlooked by any other hotels unlike some we saw. Easy to walk into Fira (about 40 minutes to the centre) and plenty of good restaurants to choose from in Imerovigli. Bus stop about 5 minutes away. Hotel staff were all brilliant and nothing was too much trouble.

Romantic Getaway
Service and friendliness of staff were excellent. They helped with arranging taxis and dinner reservations. This is a boutique hotel for relaxation, privacy, and wonderful service/accommodations

Felt like a FIVE-STAR hotel but more family-like
We went here on the second day of our honeymoon and just fell in love. During the reservation stage, I was already pleased with the service Avaton staff provided. I had found a better price on Expedia that did not show at the time I made my non-refundable reservation. Expedia was so unhelpful but Avaton helped me change the room type even though it was non-refundable. The hotel is located in a relatively private place in that it is located at the end of a strip of several different hotels. Avaton hotel offers spa, dinner inside a cave, and breakfast in suite. It also has a very clean shared infinity pool that looks off into the caldera. We got a few surprises because it was our honeymoon-a room upgrade, flower bouquet, and champagne. The moment we thought this hotel was the best was when we got back from our dinner. Our room was freshly cleaned while we were having dinner, and the bed was made with two pieces of wrapped chocolates on top. Very detail-oriented service, we thought. We would definitely recommend this hotel to couples especially.

Breathtaking
Breathtaking view, great vibes, perfect service, it is definitely a place to stay in to enjoy the unique caché of Santorini.

Magic by Avaton
The hotel is sensational and the service is second to none. The staff were amazing and attending to every need you could have from food to taxi bookings to scheduling of activities and restaurant reservations. The wifi was great but struggled a little outside the room although no issues inside the room itself. The view from your outside balcony area and pool was awesome that made you want to sit by the pool and gaze out all day. The only issue was that if you're after a bustling and busy area with lots of cafe, shopping and restaurant choices then Imerovigli is not your thing. No discredit to the hotel itself as it was faultless. Just that the location is very quiet so be prepared for this as its not like Oia. The mountain path walk to Fira is amazing for the views itself and whilst it takes 25-30min you don't even notice it because of the amazing sights along the way. Walking to Oia is just as awesome but takes about 2 hours to complete the journey one way. There are 39 taxis on the whole island so being stranded at Imerovigli for lack of transport can be common. The buses come every 20min or so and are surprisingly quite punctual but the bus stop is still about 5 blocks away. There are other means of transport like car hire and 4 wheel buggies and scooters but the former has issues with parking around the main towns and the latter from the sheer number of people who hire these transport modes but don't actually know how to ride them so beware.

Loved this place!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Avaton. The location was perfect, the view was stunning, the staff was attentive, food, especially breakfast, surpassed our expectations.
