We stayed at Akra Suites & Spa in Santorini and had an amazing experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. Every single person was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay.

The hotel was spotless, beautifully maintained, and located in the perfect area of Santorini. The views were absolutely breathtaking. The pool area was gorgeous and became one of our favorite places to relax while enjoying the incredible scenery.

What stood out most was the exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Their kindness and attention to detail made our vacation even more special.

If we return to Santorini, we will definitely stay at Akra Suites & Spa again. We loved everything about it. If you’re wondering whether you should book this hotel, my advice is simple: just book it. You won’t be disappointed!

Had the best time here. Hotels fantastically located, the views are absolutely beautiful. The staff were wonderful and couldn’t do enough for us. Friendly, super welcoming and always helpful. The breakfast was also very good, and the staff at breakfast were great too. Overall it was a hard to beat location, we are so glad we picked this and hadn’t realised how fortunate we would be with the location. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to others.

Excellent location and gorgeous views. This area is ideal if you want somewhere with the same feel as Oia but a little quieter with some good restaurants and bars within walking distance. You can also walk into Fira in 20 minutes.

Pool is divine and staff are lovely.

Rooms are spacious, wouldn’t say you need the outdoor jetted tub. We wouldn’t opt for this if we return.

Our experience at Akra Suites was terrible. We booked a 3-night stay for our anniversary, expecting a relaxing and peaceful vacation, but it became stressful and frustrating from the moment we arrived.

Within the first 10 minutes of checking into our room, we found bugs everywhere. There were bugs and flies on the bed, under the pillows, throughout the room, and around the private pool area. We literally spent our first 10 minutes cleaning instead of settling in and enjoying our vacation. It was disgusting and completely unacceptable.

We specifically booked a room with a private pool, but the pool was also filled with bugs, making it unpleasant and unusable. Because of the conditions, we immediately asked to check out and requested a refund. The staff member contacted the owner, but the owner refused to issue a refund despite the circumstances.

I would challenge the owner to spend a night in that room with their own family and see if they would find it acceptable. No guest should have to deal with these conditions, especially when paying premium prices for a vacation stay.

Instead of celebrating our anniversary and enjoying some peace of mind, we spent our time dealing with an issue that should never have existed in the first place. The property needs a deep cleaning and much better maintenance. We will never stay here again and cannot recommend it to others.

The staff at this hotel/resort were exceptional and did everything to make your stay outstanding. The property is in the perfect location with the perfect view. If I had one criticism it would be that the bed is very hard, but everyone has their own preference. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to avoid the crowds of Fira and Oia.

Akra Suites is a clear 10/10 property. From the wonderful welcome at arrival to customization requests, to impeccable upkeep and attentive and super helpful staff...our time here was fabulous.

The location is also perfect, stunning views right from the property & pool. Whether you walk to the left or right after exiting the property, everything is at your finger tips; dining on the Caldera, drinks, cafes, restaurants etc.

Our stay at Akra Suites in Santorini was truly amazing and such a memorable experience. The service from the staff was exceptional from start to finish, and they made us feel welcomed throughout our entire stay. The breakfast each morning was excellent, with plenty of delicious options to choose from and a beautiful setting to enjoy it in.

One of the highlights of the property was the stunning outdoor pool overlooking the caldera views. It was such a relaxing place to unwind and take in the beauty of Santorini. We also had a wonderful surprise waiting for us in our room — the bed was beautifully decorated with flowers for our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful and special touch that we truly appreciated.

The location in Imerovigli was perfect for us. It had a much more peaceful and relaxing atmosphere compared to the crowds in Oia and Fira, while still offering breathtaking views and easy access to everything we wanted to explore.

Akra Suites exceeded our expectations in every way, and we would absolutely stay here again when visiting Santorini!

There is very little to say about our four days staying at this hotel: it was quite simply totally excellent in every possible respect.

Where we thought that this hotel wins is the frankly unbelievable location, the staff, the amenities, the access (be warned: some other hotels are on *extremely* steep stairs and paths) and the room quality.

We very much enjoyed the breakfasts and found that the property was very well maintained, clean and tidy and everything worked. Our room was surprisingly large and we had great service throughout our stay.

BIG pluses (we thought): the hotel is on the path to both Oia (LONG cliff top walk on rough paths at times) and in the other direction Fira (about 40 mins down hill on well maintained paths). We thought Imorvigli was an ideal location to see the whole island - and is the highest point with truly stunning views. The town is also very nice and has a plethora of excellent restaurants all within an easy walk.

Would we go back? Yes; very probably. While there must be literally dozens of other hotels and studios, on reflection we would find it immensely hard to beat staying at this hotel, if only for the views and access. Thank you!

Disappointing Stay – Not professional at all

We were really looking forward to our stay here, but unfortunately, this hotel fell short in several key areas.

First and most surprising: the in-room hot tub was not heated. We were told this was due to high electricity costs and that the hotel had made a decision to cut power to all hot tubs. So despite paying for a room with this feature, it was completely unusable in May—the water was far too cold.

Second, while we booked a room advertised with a Caldera view, what we actually got was a view of the hotel pool. All the rooms seem to face inward toward the pool area, not the open sea. This was quite misleading, especially when you’re expecting the iconic Santorini experience.

Third, the hotel’s handling of our concerns was poor. Each time we brought up the issues, we were told to speak with the “manager” in the morning, but no manager ever appeared during the entire three-night stay. We felt completely brushed off and stuck in a room that lacked both privacy and comfort.

Lastly, for those coming to Imerovigli to enjoy the famous sunsets: this hotel is not in the right location for that. It’s on the side of town where the sunset is obscured. If a sunset view matters to you (and in Santorini, it usually does), you’d be much better off staying at a hotel on the other side of Imerovigli with a direct line of sight to Oia and the sea.

There are so many beautiful, better-located hotels in the area—do yourself a favor and choose one of those instead.

Our stay in the Honeymoon suite was enjoyable. However as it was in late April/early May, it was still low season and so the hotel restaurant was not open. There is only the breakfast buffet — perhaps it is also because of the low volume of hotel guests that there weren’t too many options at breakfast as well. Also, it would’ve been great if the tv was a smart TV :)

I booked the honeymoon suite and I think I got the best room on the property, if not the town. I visited Fira and Oia, but wow I am so glad to have chosen Imerovigli. It is more serene and quiet. Our tour guide called it the village of the honeymooners. The hotel is right off of the famous walking path, on the higher side. The private balcony and jacuzzi has a perfect unobstructed view of the sunset that beat the overcrowded square of Oia. What an amazing property.

Beautiful Caldera adjacent Hotel.

Wonderful pool, perfectly situated between the bustle of Thera and the path of Oia.
Restaraunt for all price ranges nearby and even on site. Beautiful breakfast with Calder views. We had pool in room which was great but would probably recommend the outdoor pool.
Great service with attentive responses to all requests.
Everything seems brand new and would recommend the Spa and Wine cave experience.

Something to highlight is that the pools in this hotel do not expose you to other visitors of the island that pass by. We liked that a lot.

The hotel Is actually better than the pictures and descriptions tell on the website. Our expectations, especially the concierge and front desk service were all exceeded. The ladies that work at the front desk went above and beyond to satisfy all our needs. That includes reservations, recommendations for restaurants and trips and more. They recommended for example the catamaran trip around the beaches on the island and that was the highlight of our trip, completly unexpected and amazing.

Akra was a great location! Easy to get to from where the taxi drops you off. There's lots of steps in Santorini so I was prepared for the worst carrying the luggage but it was easy. Breakfast was very good. A mix of everything, great coffee. The gentleman helping with breakfast were so kind and helpful. Reception staff were helpful and friendly.
The rooms are very nice. We booked a deluxe suite because we wanted the plunge pool and view. The plunge pool was cold, we only used once. And the pool was right at our doorsteps with a lounge chair and table. We used the pool when it was hot out. The only downside is the public walkway outside, non guests would stop to enter to take pictures. I understand the view with the pool is killer, but some people are just ignorant. This is not the staff or hotels fault.
I would highly recommend staying at Akra. I did a lot of research and honestly could not make up my mind and then settled on this hotel with no regrets.
Walk down the street and Rent an ATV to drive around and explore the island. You can drive easily to Oia day or night. So much cheaper than a taxi.
You need good runners for Santorini. So much walking and steps, but good exercise and we were good with that.

Honeymoon stay at Akra Suites!!

Absolutely brilliant stay at Akra Suites! Amazing service, the hospitality staff and restaurant staff couldn’t be more helpful. The room and surroundings were comfortable and beautiful. The location was exceptional if you want to stay away from the overcrowded Oia or Thira area. However Thira is a 10min walk away and everywhere else is very accessible from the hotel. Absolutely loved it! 😍

We definitely recommend Akra Suites. The staff were nice, professional and helpful. They helped us with shuttle transportation, restaurant reservation, laundry and room service. They also have delicious breakfast.
Our room didn’t have the best view since, to see the caldera, we had to go to the main shared pool. Except from that, it was a memorable and pleasant stay and we recommend it to others. Also we loved the tranquility of Imerovigli, compared to Firostefani and Oia.

Not sure what to say about a hotel that sleeps 30+ people, but has pool chair space for 8 people only. One of our days was spent waiting for people to move so we could lie at the pool. Given that Santorini has few beaches, the pool is an attraction, so be prepared to arrive early or you’ll be outta luck. 2: Unless you have the one room in the hotel with a balcony view, you will not have a caldera view, despite what it says. Only the restaurant and pool have caldera views. 3.We were told by staff we could use a table near the pool, only to be rudely told by other staff to move since it did not ‘belong’ to us. We were also told that we weren’t allowed to use a spa pool right next to the main pool since it was not ours. Fair warning, we removed ourselves upon request, with no argument. Thereafter, in the hotel restaurant full of guests, the hotel manager Christina accosted us loudly, telling us we had ‘two complaints’ against us. Apparently Christina has zero clue about hotel management etiquette. Later, she apologized, saying she is ‘a very loud person’. As an apology, she offered to let us use the spa for an hour. Big deal - she failed to tell us we had to ‘book’ the spa – and then refused to let us use it, telling us she wasn’t going to pay the spa attendant to wait on us for an extra hour. 4.At 8 AM on two mornings, I was woken up by staff yelling at each other right outside my room.
Essentially, this is a two star hotel with five star prices. Spend your money elsewhere.
