The property was very old and dirty. Our first room was out the back and downstairs, essentially out in the garden and surrounded by a brick wall. The smell from the drains was unbearable and it got worse when any water was run in the bathroom.
The bathroom wasn't clean and neither was the bedroom.
After complaining we were offered another room on the ground floor which was equally as dirty and had paint on the bedding. We left and did not stay as the standard of the hotel was very poor and well below what is acceptable.

Very central location and very quiet - I couldn't hear any traffic at all. It's in an old building so the water pipes were noisy but the bed was comfortable and a handy sink in the room made a big difference to the fact I'd booked a room with a shared bathroom. There was a kettle and coffee/tea which was useful. The shower was just a dribble but it did the job!

Having a cockroach bait next to the bed wasn’t a great start. Having staff try to enter the room when a smoke alarm went off with nothing to do with me was next level. When they came back and tried to enter the room with a master key was the cherry on the cake. All up, it wasn’t the best place I’ve ever staid, and that’s the best thing that can be said. I wish them all the very best.

We stayed for one night so we could catch first eurostar of the day (we're up north so straight through wasn't an option).

If its one night and just a bed you need, its absolutely fine. Anything more and id book somewhere with more/better amenities.

Room was clean but very simple. Shared bathrooms were clean(ish), but very dated/used looking.

Lobby staff were fine, nothing special but not rude or abusive.

Other patrons were quiet but it was a tuesday eveing so probably quiet anyways.

Great location very close to King’s Cross and St Pancras stations just a short 5-10min walk with plenty of eateries outside the property. Bedroom was spacious with a sink and TV. Only issue there was a continuous humming from the hotel affecting the bedroom which made it difficult to sleep. Good basic hotel for an overnight stay only, shared bathrooms are in urgent need of upgrading, cleaning and maintenance. Hand soap was in dirty overused bottles and unhygienic cups and mugs really need to be removed and freshened if left for hotel residents to use which could be improved as the room was functional and good. Two keys required to open front door and bedroom door old fashioned system but ok. Nice busy area and would definitely stay for one night stays in the future if price is budget friendly.

We needed somewhere cheap to stay before catching the Eurostar. The room was basic, but served its purpose for a night. I had read horror stories in other reviews before staying but it was not as bad as everyone says. Get what you pay for. Gent on the front desk was very pleasant and helpful.

The manager was very nice and friendly check in was 2pm but we arrived early at 1pm and he allowed us to check in early.

Shower was hot .
Slept well
Bed has only sheet and a blanket which was adequate for this time of year.
There was some cleaning issues regarding shower plug hole and areas of dust , I spoke to the manager in the morning and he acknowledged these issues with his cleaner.

This hotel is in a good location. , near to tube station and and adequate for a night to sleep.

Room was very dusty. Worst of all two lower shower tiles were absent exposing rotten wood and a six inch spindly seedling was growing from the rotted wood, despite all windows being blocked by plywood. We found the day staff to be rude. The faucet wasn’t properly installed, no bath mats or hand towels. Expect nothing from this place. No effort was made to maintain the room we were in. They certainly do a good job advertising their best room in pictures, but it is false advertising for room 26. We were glad to leave and will not return, nor would we recommend this place.

This is not a family friendly hotel. Corridors are tiny! No access for pram or wheelchair. We were given a room on the basement floor. Paid extra for a private bathroom but my 3 year old would barely fit inside of the shower. There was no way to hang the shower head from the wall so youd have to hold it to shower yourself down. Staff were not particularly friendly and completely unbothered by our predicament. Absolutely horrendous quality for the price, i'm shocked! Stains on the pillow too. I cried when i stayed here. What a waste of money that was.

This hotel is not what it looks like on the booking site.
Room was down some narrow stairs and off the tiny reception, looks and feels dinghy.
The room, although get enough room for 2 adults and a 6 year old, the bedding had hairs from someone, the TV was lopsided and the bathroom...... there's more room in an aeroplane toilet.
Plus there were random long hairs on the wall and toilet and the shower curtain looks like its been there since day dot.
The bath towels were no bigger than a hand towel and the windows had nothing to stop anyone coming off the street and into your room. (Basement room which is at the front of the hotel on the main road).
The only positives were the location to Euston & St Pancras Stations.
I definitely won't be staying here again, I was so disappointed.

Room was clean. Easy to find and make way into the city centre. Staff were nice.
The key didn’t work for the front door we had to buzz to get in. The stairs to head upstairs were not great, I nearly fell a couple times coming down them. The room itself was fine. The bathroom in the room had a massive step up to it. The shower curtain was pretty moldy so was the shower area.

Firstly, the location is excellent!
Everything on your doorstep.
I received a warm welcome when I arrived.
Very friendly.
The ensuite double room was clean and comfortable, with a kettle and tea/coffee selection, T.V. and decent view, considering.
On checkout, much the same.
Very helpful. Charged my phone for me which doesn't sound much but was a life saver.
Many thanks for that.

Narrow passages and turns on the stairs, so difficult with suitcases. Double bed but it was against one wall so access from one side only. Window on ground floor did not have an opening restriction so was vulnerable to entry. Private bathroom had a tiny corner basin with no plug, low ceiling with shower curtain draping on the bottom of the shower tray and a very rusty rail. Not usable.

The room was clean and there was a kettle and some mugs so we could make coffee.
The room was quite small but the bed was comfy. Certainly OK for a single night if you have a train to catch at St.Pancras, which is only a 13 minute walk away.
There's a decent sized Waitrose 2 minutes walk away if you need a snack and a range of restaurants even closer if preferred.
My only real complaint was the lack of a fridge/ freezer even at reception to keep some medication cool overnight and to freeze some packs to keep it cool on the journey.
Also, although not a problem for us, there is no lift and quite steep stairs to access the upper floors.99

first of all the rooms are not good at blocking external sounds, the staff were shouting around on my last night at around 1 in the morning, slamming doors and throwing drawers closed etc

the staff otherwise were pretty chill, considering the first thing i stumbled across upon my first entry was a receptionist with his sandals off, bare feet just hung up on a window ledge lol

the shower is ridiculous, i washed myself in the sink in my room instead- as this is a shared bathroom, i obviously had to use the bathroom for the toilet etc but i still rather wash myself in the sink in my room

for the bedding you'd expect duvet etc, no... just a fleece blanket- which i didn't mind but the typical traveler would like a duvet

overall its a great location with great places nearby, budget friendly considering its in london next to euston station, final rating about 6/10. could have been much better! thanks

The room was clean, however very run down and out dated. The tile in the shower was cracked. Water pressure would knock you off your feet one day and do nothing the next. Sometimes lava hot sometimes ice cold. The staff was VERY disgruntled every time we talked to them. They did not clean the room more than 2 of the 8 nights and we had to ask for clean towels anytime we needed them.

I booked a double room, but it felt more like a single room with just a double bed squeezed in. The room was too small and very different from the photos shown online, which was disappointing. The receptionist was not friendly or welcoming. We were also not able to sleep properly because there was a lot of noise from the floor above — the floor was squeaking loudly whenever people walked, which was very disturbing throughout the night.

Hotel was quiet so could sleep, they give you more than enough coffees and teas which is great but the floor was a bit questionable, it was uneven and i didnt feel it was very secure when walking around the room, owner is a bit offish when you check in but happy when you check out lol. If you just need somewhere to get your head down for a cheap rate then book it but dont expect the world, it really is just a means to an end kind of place, would book again if on the same budget.

Just poor in all ways. See Google review for photos to describe this review. Greeted at reception by a chap in a smelly office with bare feet. Room for had gaps all around it (not fire) bed bases worn, sockets old and yellow, carpet worn, marks all over the wall and for fun a bare bulb for lighting. As initially mentioned just poor! If it was £50 for a stopover I would have managed, not £100s avoid unless in dianneed.

My stay at Goodwood Hotel was disappointing. Upon arrival, I encountered extremely poor customer service — the front desk staff (who I believe was also the manager) was rude and raised his voice at me when I calmly suggested there was a better way to communicate hotel policies. I was surprised at the hostility, especially when I was simply asking about holding my bags for a couple of hours before check-in.

The rooms are very small, and most of them have *shared bathrooms*, which was in the advert but you have to be paying attention. None of the rooms are as advertised - the front desk staff verbatim said the picture posted online is used for all the rooms and the rooms don’t actually look like that. The bathroom facilities were in poor condition — more like small closet-sized stalls, with the toilet and shower in separate, cramped spaces. Not kept clean - Definitely not what you'd expect even from a 2-star hotel.

The bed was reasonably comfortable, and check-in/out outside of the first encounter went smoothly. That said, you truly get what you pay for — maybe even less. I was glad it was just a one-night stay!

Arrived at hotel, reception didn’t seem aware of the process.

Went up to the bedroom which was on a slant, with uneven floorboards and the wooden cupboards were water damaged.

Our room was adjacent to the shared toilet, we could hear a man urinating as if we were in the toilet with him.

We weren’t aware that the bathroom’s were shared and would have made a go of it but my wife is pregnant and the showers were on different floors, so it was unsuitable.

Spoke to hotels.com regarding the issue and they agreed to call reception and ask for a refund. It took too long so we checked out, the receptionist was in the ignoring the ringing phone.

It then took the hotel three days to answer the call from Hotels.com regarding a refund, but they refused.

Avoid if you desire cleanliness and a good attitude.

First room was a moldy room in the basement with neither electrical outlets nor connectivity. There were random bits of trash strewn around. After I complained, I was put in a better top floor room, except also with leftover towels from a previous guest in random places. Then, the day before I left, a sewage pipe appears to have burst on my floor, with what appeared to be feces-mixed water leaking down into a bucket that had been placed in the stairway below. This was not fixed, nor was it mentioned at all by the staff.

However in the morning whilst having a shower I heard a knock on the door and was told to stop as the water was leaking to the floor below. So not a very pleasant experience. The only reason this hotel gets a star at all is the redeaming qualities of the staff who were perfectly cordial, professional and pleasant. Also, it doesnt allow you to give 0
The bed was disgusting with a literally spring sticking out of the mattress. Our only solace was that the sheets were crisp and clean as was the bedding. We opted to stay in our street clothes nonetheless. Our guest mates above continued their nightly inebriation outside our door ALL night, the conversation was chaotic, volatile, loud ranging from uncontrollable sobbing to maniacal laughter.
The staff attempted once to quiet them to no success. It was close to terrifying
You could smell the rancid booze every time they walked past our room
Let's not skip over the odious scent of the hotel in general; damp, musty and urinated.

Super close to the CBD and easy to get in and out of.

Not so good.

The room was very small, we have only two hangers and no space for storage. The bathroom was also small and the shower has no Curtains.
When we showed up to check if was possible to check in earlier the attendant reply that he don’t know why we where there before the check in time. When we ask for help for a place to store the bags he didn’t even try to give us any information.

Check-in was unhelpful and the main guy very unaccommodating with regards to an early check-in. Rooms in poor condition mould on mattress and no proper heating, no safety deposit box. No floor mats in shower room. Mouldy walls filthy.
