Staff absolutely fabulous however bath was a state, shower had little to no water pressure. Building was entirely too warm and the heating kept coming on despite shutting the tap off. Glad we had a blue light discount and a voucher for this, otherwise it would have been a waste of money.

Location of hotel good, room was ready 2 hours early and a good size although on floor 8 without the fan in the room sleeping was impossible due to the heat and had to have fan on all night.
Big concern on return to the hotel after 10 pm stopped for a coffee in bar whilst sitting there a mouse ran through from restaurant area and was running around the bar.
Mentioned it at reception on checkout basically not there fault its the bowls club next door problem!
We were going to have the burger and pint deal but decided to go elsewhere for lunch as no confidence in cleanliness of restaurant kitchen area.

Unfortunately the mattress was so hard it felt like lying on the floor. I had to check out the same day I checked in because it was aggravating my chronic back pain.

The room was also unbelievably hot.

I was planning to stay for work two more times this month but cancelled the bookings.

The hotel was fine. And the staff were great.
However, the room I stayed in had a serious over heating issue. I was sweating just lying in the bed. Clearly this is an ongoing problem as there are fans in room, fans in the corrridors. The took the locks off the windows to open the windows full (after signing a waiver!) y, but I still couldn't sleep - and it didn't help I have a health problem. Eventually I was moved, but the room was only marginally better.
it wasn't even that warm a day, but clearly they need to invest in air con.
The staff couldn't have been better and very grateful for their help

As we checked in with our vehicle, we parked in the one stall available anywhere near the hotel which was a taxi stand created inside a bicycle lane! Prepare for angry cyclists and taxi/Uber drivers yelling/honking while unloading baggage! We moved to the reservation desk quickly to ask if our vehicle be towed/ticketed? They said no, but they would prefer we find parking elsewhere on any another block in nearby area. I had circled the block and several other blocks prior to arrival and found no spots in this busy King's Cross/Euston area! As the check-in process began we were told we had been \"upgraded\" to a accessible family room which had Double and Single beds instead of the King-sized premium suite bed we had booked due to the hotel being full. I reluctantly agreed due to it having been a long day of driving from Manchester and I didn't have the energy to look for another hotel. We went up to our room and found the bathroom had nowhere to place toiletries and when we lay down for a nap before dinner we found the bed was too short for my 6-foot-1-inch height, and spouse is almost my height, so both our feet hung off the bed. We went back to the reception and proceded to have a polite arguement with the manager before we were shockingly assigned the exact room type we had originally requested! (Despite being previously told none were available!) Once we entered this King Premium Room we saw the tiniest architecturally possible bathroom, likely breaking laws for safety!

Nice hotel, good location close to Euston station Russell Square underground.

Bathroom needs to be improved, when using the toilet you needed to manoeuvre around the side of the toilet pan to close the door.

We stayed when the weather was extremely hot so had to open the windows has there was no air-con. Because the room was on the main road side of the hotel in was very noisy from traffic.

The breakfast was excellent, and the location was very convenient for transportation. Unfortunately, there was no air conditioning, and we happened to visit during very hot weather, so the room was quite warm and it was difficult to fall asleep.

I had stayed at this hotel many years ago during several of my trips to the UK. This hotel has gone through some renovations that have improved the property. However, it depends on which room you get assigned to. Some of the rooms have not undergone any renovations for some time (like the 8th floor rooms). However, the accomodations, for the most part, were fine.

I have stayed here many times. This time the experience was not so great. Room (tiny) overlooked the main road - 6th floor. Was noisy and very warm. Supplied ear plugs and fan completely useless. For £140 without breakfast (add another £17 for that) I was expecting a bit more.

Location is still fantastic but think I will be looking at alternatives next time.

This was my responsibility but I would have appreciated some accommodation when I showed up a day late. I had mixed up the date because of time zone differences. I had been up for over 24 hours and they could not provide me with the room I paid for, indicating that they give those up for rebooking. I asked if they could give me something for not using towels or housekeeping but the answer was no. I also had to keep checking back if a room was ready. They could have offered to text. Other than that the hotel was nice.

Went to check in and room wasn’t ready for a maintenance issue. Within 5 minutes it was ready. Plan was to shower, relax, and head back out for dinner. Shower and room were fine but could not get on Wifi. No wifi meant no TV. Went to the front desk and they sent maintenance up. They were very helpful but could not figure out why our room couldn’t get wifi. Maintenance suggested we go to the front desk with them to get a new room. Front desk said there are no other rooms for 3 people and there’s nothing they can do. I was put in contact with the service provider and I was on the phone for 10 minutes giving information about our phones. After a few minutes they said it looks like something on their end. They will call back with an update. Never heard from anyone again and it wasn’t fixed. Had to use 2 international phone passes on Verizon because of this. No TV for this spoiled brat so i struggled falling asleep.

Woolf Bar food was good and breakfast was mediocre. Good selection of hot and cold items for breakfast but quality was just OK. Could have eaten better for half the price off the property. London was such a great city we decided to stay longer, just at a different hotel

We had a terrible night. There is bowling alley/karaoke bar/night club in its basement and the noisy went on until 3am. We had to catch a train at 6am so we hardly slept. The room was small however it was clean. This was not worth what I paid for it.

This is an amazing property and so close to everything. The breakfast buffet is fantastic. The staff were very helpful and made our daughter feel special on her birthday. Would have loved for there to be a fridge and iron in the room. Apparently thrives in hotel rooms aren’t a thing here. But apart from that happy to recommend this hotel!

The lobby is very nice and the staff very nice and helpful. We sat down for a late lunch and the service was not good had to get up twice to ask for help. The room was clean and cleaning staff was helpful. The room is very small, has a tiny closet and no drawers to place any items so for us who stayed for nine days, we were jumping over our luggage, which was inconvenient. The bathroom does not have an electric plug so you have to dry your hair in the bedroom, there is only one towel holder, the tub is very high so for older people could be dangerous to get in and out of and there is very little space to put your toiletries.

Well-located hotel in Bloomsbury situated among several beautiful parks. The lobby is charming but the room and other common areas reminded my partner of the dormitory he lived in while studying abroad in England nearly twenty years ago, with stained carpet, scuffed walls and very dated fixtures/furnishings. There is no central air, but the hotel offers small table fans. There is no refrigerator provided in the rooms. The staff is incredibly helpful and kind.

This was my second stay at Tavistock Hotel. Both times I stayed for about 7 nights. The double rooms are a good size, the bed is medium-firm and comfortable, and everything is very clean. The hotel is older and rooms can smell musty. But I was happy with my stay overall. Staff are very kind with early check-in. It's also convenient to stay in the area. If I am back in London again, I would easily choose Tavistock again! A comfortable mattress is not always a given with affordable London hotels!

Didn’t use many amenities and didn’t have breakfast, so can’t comment on them. My biggest disappointment was being given a room on 7 th floor RIGHT NEXT TO THE LIFTS!, As soon as she said 7th floor, I asked for a lower one, as I was with my 13 yr old granddaughter- I wanted to be able to use the stairs whenever possible. The receptionist (tho polite) smiled happily when she told me there were no other rooms available, and something about “ the time you’ve arrived”? I think it was about 3.30-3.45? And this was before I even got to the room and discovered it was directly next to the lifts - on entering/ leaving lifts, the room door was 3 steps away. Most people will be able to understand the continuous noise of the lifts going up & down all day & night? Mainly night time, cos obviously we were out during the day. Apart from lift noise, we could hear conversations etc. Again - late night/ early mornings, very noticeable.
The room itself, very small (2x single beds), was really, really hot. Windows were open all night, found a fan in cupboard/wardrobe, had it on all night, both nights - still overpoweringly hot -and this was April, NOT even hot weather. Very cramped room, would definitely not stay here again.
However, must say all and staff we then encountered around reception area were very polite, courteous, and nice😁

This is one of my favorite hotels and I plan to come back again. Great location and wonderful staff, I felt safe walking in the area, and public transportation was very convenient. I really appreciated that if I didn't want to go out to eat, I could go downstairs and have a delicious casual meal in the bar or a more formal one in the restaurant. Can't recommend it enough.

Upper floor garden view rooms are the best but other rooms work too! Excellent breakfast buffet, perfect location for accessing the West End Theatre, the British Museum, local buses to EVERYWHERE in London, etc. Reasonable, fair pricing. Nearby restaurants (Italian just across the street is low priced award-winning fare). Away from the crowds and noise but walkable to Leceister Square and Euston, with tubes and buses nearby for easy access! 5th time staying there, feels like a \"home neighborhood\" at this point.

This is where I always stay when visiting or working in London. Near Russell Square station, a few minutes walk from the British Museum. Also close to Euston and Kings Cross stations.
You can walk to Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Oxford Street and the theatres in the west end. Bloomsbury is a quieter area, just out of the noise and crowds. Clean rooms and helpful staff. Great value. Their rooms have multiple pricing options and discounts for longer stays, so be sure to check those options out when you book a room.

Good stay overall. Location is good and hotel is pretty basic as is expected of this price range. The check in process was not the best though with the staff providing us a slightly delayed check in which would have been ok but they were unapologetic and I felt like being blamed for asking for my room. Only one staff member was like that and others were fine.

We stayed in a twin room, it was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was delicious an a very good selection, full cooked, continental and pastries,fruit etc. Staff where good. Only problem 1 morning my son got a glass of juice, we noticed the drink had leaked all over the table the glass had a big crack an was broken. He was lucky he did not cut his mouth. Showed the staff discreetly, an instead of apologising the asked had we dropped the glass, to which i replied no. No appology or check that my son had not cut his mouth, other than this our stay was good. I would recommend this hotel, an breakfast is very good.
