We were so impressed with the Grange Beauchamp Hotel. Not only was it located in a great area (British Museum was literally around the corner and Euston Station a short walk away) but our room (family room) was massive with two large beds tonnes of space, plenty of supplies (tea/coffee and bathroom bits) and a lovely view from the enormous window. The breakfast (we went continental) was superb - lots and lots to choose from which made my son (who loves a good breakfast) very happy! (Went back for seconds and thirds!) The hotel kindly looked after our bags so were weren't trooping them around London while visiting and all the staff were wonderful and so helpful, polite and welcoming. We would definitely consider staying there again and have already recommended it to friends and family.

Located on a quiet street amidst an area full of restaurants, metro stations, beautiful parks and walkable to many of London's great sites! The staff was terrific! Only disappointment was the shower ran too hot and there was not a hair dryer. Not a deal breaker, would stay here again!

Right by Russell Square, so a short walk to the Tube. Or a short walk to the British Museum. An older place, but classic feel and very clean. Quiet neighbourhood and convienent for those who can get around by the Tube. From Heathrown, it is one hour and only one train, and then a 5 minute walk.

The people at the desk, dining room, and those who cleaned my room were wonderful, but I didn't like the way I saw them treated by their supervisors at times. I didn't read the fine print, I guess, but the Continental breakfast cost 19 pounds, I believe, and it cost even more to have things like fried and scrambled eggs. The next time I visit London I'll stay at a cheaper hotel with (I hope) a more relaxed atmosphere.

A comfortable, convenient & quiet stay.

As I was planning a July trip to London for my family of four, I did extensive research on hotels. I wanted something within walking distance of St. Pancras (we arrived on the Eurostar; this hotel is a 15-20 minute walk away) that offered rooms for 4 with air conditioning. Though hotels in London are not inexpensive, cost was also a factor. Based on other online reviews, I booked the Grange Beauchamp...and we were very happy with this hotel. The staff was superb (always helpful and greeting us with a smile) and our accommodations were more than adequate. Our room and bathroom were spacious and though there are some signs of age/wear (ie: water spots on the ceiling), the room was clean and well-appointed. The air conditioning was essential (London was experiencing a 'heat wave' with temperatures well into the 70s). Our room was at the back of the building and overlooked the common courtyard. One morning we looked out to see a fox among the pretty flowers and bushes!
As for the location, we found this to be a convenient place to stay. It is only a couple of blocks from the nearest underground station (including a peaceful walk through a well-kept park) and is also a quick walk from the British Museum. Covent Garden was also an easy walk away (~15 minutes or so). The neighborhood was quiet and felt quite safe (though we are always cautious when traveling, especially in areas where tourists congregate). I would definitely book this hotel again if the opportunity arose.

First, the good: The location was perfect. Near buses and tube stations and Russell Square which was charming and full of activity. The room and bathroom were spacious. Air conditioning worked great, and it was HOT in London when we were there. Most of the front desk staff were helpful, although it was clear there was a lot of training going on.

The not so good: The place is very rundown. We had a room in the basement (Good because of the London heat, but not so good because it was a little shabby). The carpet was filthy and there was no refridgerator.

Be advised: If you book direct with them, breakfast is included but since we used Hotels.com, it was $22 to $30 a day PER PERSON extra. We opted to buy groceries and eat in the park or in our room.

Probably would not stay here again, but it worked for our purposes for the most part.

Our stay at the Grange Beauchamp was excellent!

The location couldn’t be better! It is within a 5 minute walk to Russel Square Station on the Piccadilly Line, and a 5-7 minute walk to Holborn Station which has access to the Piccadilly and Central lines for the Tube. It is quiet, and safe, with parks close by, and right around the corner from The British Museum!

The staff were lovely and helpful. They were always smiling and welcoming.

Our room was very large, which was perfect for two adults and two teens. We didn’t feel like we were cramped and on top of each other. Our room was very clean and in good shape, with normal wear and tear. Best of all, it was cool because of the Air Conditioning! The room could have used a dresser for storage, though there were two closets for our things.

We couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more.

Location worked well for our purpose. Transportation, dining, and more, were easily accessible. The kitchen/restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, going beyond regular service to help during our stay. Room electrical outlets/switches were odd and took some effort to see what works and what didn’t. During our first day we kept hearing a rather loud, annoying motor or fan-type noise. Turned out it was a hotel hair dryer that was hooked up in the drawer that was randomly turning itself on. How or why it went unnoticed by cleaning staff was odd. Otherwise only noises were primarily from floor above where we could hear others walking around.

The AC wasn’t working. Our room was 28.5 degrees. Hot! We had to open the window and turn on a fan. In the early morning hours the garage trucks came by along with the glass recyclers. Breaking glass was noisy. My choice- be hot with window closed or lots of noise with window open.

The worst hotel experience ever. We arrived and had registered for a Superior Deluxe Room. The first room we were given was a small basement room with two small windows. We refused this room. We were then moved to a first-floor room which was certainly not the room we saw in the photo when we registered. Much smaller without the chairs and table. We took this room and asked to be moved to the proper room but there was none available.
The next day we were moved to the proper Superior Double Room, but the air conditioning was leaking on the bed. We were moved again to a room for the final two nights of our stay. This should have been the room we were given the first night. We asked for a discount for the first two nights and were told they would check with management. We asked this three times and always had the same answer. No discount on the first two nights ever happened. We were happy to leave this hotel and will never go back. After a day, I received a survey from the hotel and basically put the same comments in it that I put here. No response from the hotel.

The actual rooms are a bit dusty and water-stained, showing their age, but if you're just looking for a place to sleep and store your stuff while you explore the city it's absolutely fine and I would book it again.

This was a return visit. Check in was easy via attentive Reception staff. We found our way to our room which required physical key as well as the key card.
The room was much larger than expected but very acceptable. The beds were very comfortable. The heating was eventually controlled.
In all we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Staff were very good, nice and helpful making my daughter feel very welcome on her birthday. The room was ok and quiet on the 3rd floor, it's a little dated and run down, for example the TV didn't work and the sink was loose in the bathroom and there was no ironing board just an old school trouser press. Bed was comfy though a little short as my legs stuck out the bottom. I didn't complain as we were off out for a busy weekend visit to london.

It was ok. Good location. Checkout was 11am yet I had a phone call at 10.56am to remind me of this. I don't think guests should be bothered while they're rushing to leave. Fair enough if it was after 11am but not before. Also an alarm went off at 7.30am and woke us up, hence us sleeping in a bit later than we wanted. There was no apology for this.

I'm sorry, I was not impressed. First, we booked a quadruple room, it wasn't available when we arrived but they accommodated our family into two separate rooms instead, for our trouble, breakfast was complimentary the next morning. Both rooms were large. Otherwise, the beds were very hard and uncomfortable, carpet was threadbare in places, curtains shredding, bathrooms need a little updating, some of the shower knobs very difficult to turn, no deadbolt on the doors. We were woke in the middle of the night by horrible noise coming from the ceiling that went on for over an hour, like some sort of water pump (definitely included water running). The second night they accommodated us to a quadruple room, it was pretty much the same condition as the first two. For almost $400US a night, I kind of expect a little nicer, higher end room. Considering we stayed elsewhere for the first 2 nights of our stay in London for only $10 more. The staff at the front were very nice, helpful and friendly. The end, I'm not really sure who set us up but we had to leave for the airport at 5 in the morning, I asked if they could arrange a taxi for us and they said they could. The cost was arranged by the hotel at 90£. It was fine, our driver was there on time, I double checked the price. When we got to the airport he wouldn't take card, only cash which multiple people said true taxis only take card. Ended up scamming my husband for double the cost in US dollars. Left us with bad feelings about hotel

Facility had very gross carpeting. Outlet situation was bad. They put us in a basement room that felt like a dungeon. No one asked us how our stay was. Needs severe updating. For the price I was extremely disappointed. There weren’t enough bathroom hooks and virtually no drawer storage. Air condition was very weak. One of the reasons we chose this hotel.

Strangely they could \"not\" give us two guests two room keys saying they were fully booked not having enough room keys to give out. It was very inconvenient for two of us to have one room key only.

After an ironing board was delivered to our room, the stand couldn't stay standing but kept falling flat to the floor, so I had to iron my items on the floor!
