Over night stay. It was well priced especially for the location and amenities. Rooms were renovated fairly well and were clean. They have a lovely indoor pool open til 10 pm. Free breakfast in the morning was great. There are not servers, but attendants who take your plates and get/tell you where to get what you need. They were super friendly and attentive as if they were servers. Parking was plentiful. Close to restaurants (there is one in the hotel, but I got there late and it was closed), stores and other odds and ends stores. I would definitely stay there again!

I have stayed here several times over the past two years. Always had an exceptional experience until this time. I went to check in at 1 and told them I didn't care if my room was ready. I just wanted to swim in the pool. I have done this same routine every time. The desk clerk was very snotty. \"Check-in isn't until 4. We have an early check-in fee.\"
I apologized and told her that her I wasn't aware of the new policy. \"You need to come back at four!\" I came back at 430 and had six people in line ahead of me, with only one desk clerk. Took me 25 minutes to check in!
Yesterday morning, at 9 am,
(checkout is at 11) Housekeeping knocked on my door. The woman barely spoke English and asked, \"You leave when?\" I understand people want to plan, but that isn't the right way to handle either situation! A little politeness goes a long way. After that experience, I am reconsidering my next planned stay there.
Politeness would have gone a long way.

Breakfast wait staff worker Mike (lady) was so very nice, freindly, and helpful....There was no toaster, system for checking in for breakfast was inconsistent....Diner was spotty, due to no cook....sometimes had bar food, sometimes not, even though they advertised specials....and they closed early.

Our room had no elevator. We had to wait 20 min to check in. We had to drag our luggage up stairs. New owners are not retaining their staff so they were short handed with no evidence the manager or owners were pitching in to help. Breakfast was good

We have been going to this hotel for ten years. They are charging for the omelette bar now $10.I would gladly pay ten dollars extra for my room price, instead of being charged for the omelette bar. That is ridiculous. Also the staff is very upset and unhappy 😞. They are under new management and staged a walk out Friday night. Not good for a place that has many repeat customers. Please help them.

I had a fairly poor experience. I stayed two nights over there. My room didn’t have hangers so I asked the front desk to send me hangers and they said they will. The y never sent hangers during my stay!
Last morning I had early meeting and I went out early and when I came back to the hotel was 9 am. I asked the front desk when is ending of serving the breakfast and the lady that apparently it was her first day said 10:30 am. So I said I will go and wrap up my luggage and come down for breakfast.
I came back at 10:00 am and saw they cleaned up!!
I asked the front desk and they said it finished at 10 am!!!
I asked if they can have a solution since their statement was misleading, and the supervisor also said i cannot do anything and I need to ask owner of hotel for this simple thing!! I said or , then can you ask? She said he is not available.
Without any resolution , I left.

Very kind staff and helpful very friendly with children which is nice they fill welcome great breakfast my husband didn't want to go bad thing you can't take the breakfast to the room for him. bed was a little outdated in the pets room plus deposit was unexpected didn't read that before. Overall great stay pool was fun The evening ladies were very amazing bar tender didn't show and they did their best to make is a drink we felt very welcome

The breakfast far exceeds any hotel breakfast you get at hotels at a similar price point. It also has an amazing open seating area. Just all around great amenities. If you’re looking for a clean, budget friendly hotel in Colorado Springs, don’t look any further.

What a great older hotel! Deep pool, great breakfast, clean, dark, perfect temperature room. We were able to do our laundry and get documents printed. I didn’t have a car but found everything I needed within walking distance. Great bargain! Love the lounge with fireplace and nice water station. Coffee and tea in my room and very good shower with soaps. Highly recommend!

Breakfast buffet was great. Staff was superb. But unfortunately the room was mediocre and looked to be falling apart. The mini fridge was unplugged so we were unable to use it as it took 24 hours to get cold. We also had problems with our tv but staff was quick to fix it but they advertise more than direct tv and we limited to only direct. The indoor pool was foggy and had things floating it in. Also the walls are paper thin.
Overall perks, Good parking, fast and excellent service.

The room was fine. The bathtub and toilet took longer to drain than they should have.
They need more than one person at the desk to check people in at 4 pm and out in the morning. The wait to check in was a bit longer than it should have been due to a lot of people checking in right at 4.
The bartender was good and the breakfast was very good.

Have stayed at Academy Hotel before with no issues, however the property seems to have degraded lately, a bit run down. AC was inadequate, bed was rock hard, WiFi was pitiful, entire room needs updating. Room was never serviced in five days we stayed, bathroom supplies inadequate. Bright spot was staff, exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Everything that caused a two star review: stains everywhere, ripped shower curtain, dirty playpen, broken sink handle, inaccurate description of Mountain View and baby “crib” which was a dirty pack and play.
On Expedia it says “Mountain View room” and the pic is cropped above the now current hotel in front of it. The baby crib described was a pack and play. The one first given was so dirty and then was given a different one which was cleaner but still stained. The shower curtain was torn all across the top and they brought a new one to our door but didn’t install it. So I guess that was meaning I was supposed to do it? The sink handle also broke off when turning it on. The floor wasn’t vacuumed well at all while we were staying there. The couch chair, the office chair, the floor, the curtain, all had stains on them.
No idea how this hotel had four stars it does not deserve it.

We booked this hotel in part because of the advertised on-site restaurant. We learned at check-in that there was now only a bar and no food was served there. When we got to our room, there was only one towel. The lady at the front desk was rude when we went to ask for more towels. I did not get her name but she was wearing an oxygen canula. She said they only service rooms after three full days of stay or when someone checks out. The other ladies at the front desk were super friendly. Our room keys stopped working on the second day of our stay and the staff had trouble reprogramming the keys. We were told that the new owner of the hotel changed the software and it was not working. The best part of all was when we got stuck in the elevator. We pushed the button to call for help. No one answered. Someone was finally able to get the door to open from the outside. I immediately went to the front desk. There was a tall gentleman there with dark hair and a beard that was wearing a suit. He appeared to be handing out checks to staff. I had to wait for him to tell a young lady how pretty her hair was before he acknowledged me. I told him what happened. He said \"Oh that must have been what the call was.\" I said yes, we were stuck in the elevator for several minutes. He acted like I was bothering him but said he would send someone to look at it. Overall, this was a terrible hotel stay.

The room and common areas were clean. The bed was very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, with made-to-order omelets, scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, waffles, etc.The wifi was good enough for our purposes. The location is good. It was a great deal for the price. I gave it 4 stars because there were some things in the room that were aging and needed replacement, such as a cracked sink, cracked lampshades and curtains. But we would stay there again for the price.

I paid for a dog suite, and it was not the best. Smelled like Pee, (not okay even for a dog suite) fridge made noise all night long keep me, and dogs awake, coffee machine was broken, the rubber on the stairs tripped me twice, Restaurant took 2 hours for us to get our food, and it was not worth the price. Parking lot full of trash and homeless people's car. my son's hockey gear was stolen from his truck. I will not be back to this hotel.

Unfortunately it was spring break and there were many children in the pool being very loud. Screaming, running around the common area without adult supervision. 60+ kids in the pool at a time. Very loud and disorderly! There needs to be some noise control in place.

I liked the vending machine price of bottled water 1.50 soda is 2.00. Toilet was disgusting & dirty as well as had plastic on top of the lid that was hard like crinkled tap to rub your skin when I sat down and didnt pull off, Thank God I take clorox wipes cause when I wiped the toilet handle and lid there was brown on the lid side of the bowl & wipes, I have never had that happen at any place I stayed ever! The floor in the bathroom was dirty with hair and dirt the sink was clean and towls looked it but I was very skeptical. Staff said they were full and did not have another room so nothing could be done, kids next door banged on the wall until 11 pm, the dog across the hall barking didnt help us to get any sleep nor did the thought of how dirty the sheets were when I seen a black smudge on the back of the pillow I slept on. The lobby tables and couches by the firplace were filthy with food and debris. No available towels in the pool area. The breakfast and coffee were good and loved that is was complimentary but my son who got a home made omlet had diarreah shortly after eating it.. Never again will we stay here or refer this place I will not go off reviews for a stay again. The 10/10 reviews were not from someone who could have stayed in the 100 or 200 rooms had to be in the other building 300's/400's where kids and dogs dont stay. We were so exhausted the next day and 1 was sick so it was hard to do anything but sleep for the ride home not a way to end our spring break.

The hotel is just older and needs upgraded. The shower hardly has any water pressure and gets extremely hot randomly over and over again. Shower curtain is yellow. Pray you do not get put next to a room with a dog because there was a dog next to us that barked all hours of the day and night. Also we reserved the room for 5 people and when asked for new towels we were only given 1 towel..... one night one of the little kids threw up in bed, we asked if we could get new bedding to make up the bed and they said not until 7am... so a 3 year old was expected ro sleep without blankets all night. Just odd things happened throughout our stay. Breakfast is also not very good.

Booked this hotel based on its 4-star rating and appealing photos, but unfortunately, the reality didn’t match expectations. Upon arrival, it felt more like a 2-star—maybe a 3-star at best.

The property is very dated and lacks basic amenities. Housekeeping provides only two very small bars of soap (about the size of a quarter), which is clearly insufficient for a family of four staying five nights—you constantly have to ask for more.

There was no room service available during our stay, as we were told via text that they were fully booked. Hot water was inconsistent, and when we brought it up, we were told it happens when too many guests are showering at the same time.

The pool was frequently closed for maintenance, which was disappointing. Breakfast service was slow, and at one point they even ran out of plates. To top it off, the hotel bar closes at 9 PM, which is quite early for a property advertised at this level.

There are many other issues I could mention, but overall, this stay was very disappointing.

I would not recommend staying here—save your money.

Broken window curtains you can clearly see from outside. No vents in the bathroom. Not a real fresh smell on initial entry of the room. Not horrible but definitely not pleasant and inviting. Bed was ok. Comfortable enough to get some rest but nothing to brag about. The location is pretty good. Centrally located to a lot of touristy stuff. Shopping, gas and food all close by. Personally, for the price, I would stay here again but if the price goes up, all the little things need improvement. Oh and the very very dark indoor pool area was a weird vibe. Why no lights? Seems unsafe.

The communication about the hotel being short staffed was excellent. I was just there about 6 weeks ago- the room and property were noticeably cleaner, better maintained. Using regular plates for breakfast made a big difference, but understand needing to change to paper plates is needed if staff is short. Wi-Fi was fair. Options for breakfast were excellent- but not well maintained during service and the two cooks on the omelet bar work so, so hard! The morning servers were courteous. The dinner options are still good, but food quality inconsistent.
