The room was beautiful, recently renovated with a deep bath tub. Room was spotless and blackout curtains were next level. Staff were helpful and welcoming. A great stay. Only comment would be that the lobby and lift felt a little dated, but the rooms are brand new. A great stay and I’d happily return.

It's a decent room for a cosy option, seems like a refurbished room which is nice.

The location is great, but the lack of room service meant it was hard to find meals when I got home after 8pm from work. The cosy room also didn't have a coffee pod machine, and I had issues connecting to the internet on the 5th level.

The service was excellent and they did their best to fix the internet for me, spending an hour really trying to find a resolution, so just had to use the internet downstairs in the lobby (which was very stylish and comfortable)

I think this place is perfect for a holiday, but harder for work IMHO.

This is a very well located hotel for visiting the British Museum and catching connections from Euston station. Its surrounded by lots of bars and some lovely restaurants which it a lively ( if somewhat noisy) place to stay .
The rooms have been recently refurbished and the suites are recommended . The building however is still surrounded by scaffolding at the moment so don’t expect too much of a view !

West End jolly

My partner and I wanted to treat ourselves to a night at a luxury hotel and watch a theatre show, The Rathbone did not disappoint, very nice feel to the place, clean, smells very good inside, Vasco was extremely welcoming and helpful, we will definitely be back next time we're in town, highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location is incredibly convenient — close to everything yet tucked away enough to feel safe and quiet. I felt very comfortable walking around the area, even in the evenings, which was a big plus.

The customer service was outstanding from start to finish. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly, professional, and eager to help. They really made me feel welcome and taken care of.

The amenities were also excellent. Great AC which as we’ve learned you should not take for granted in Europe!

I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a safe, convenient place to stay with great service and all the amenities you could need. I look forward to coming back!

Upshot: Friendly staff but I would not stay here again.
The hotel is in a wonderful area, but the rooms themselves and property are very outdated, and small, even the king suite. Depending on the floor and room its all a bit musty smelling. I do like that it all feels like you’re on a cruise ship.
Big recommendation: if you have a room with a tub/shower be EXTREMELY CAREFUL. They have a nonslip mat in there that somehow makes it more slippery unless it is 100% suctioned down when it’s dry, and no soap present. My mom put it down to be careful because of the weird height of the tub, and ended up slipping because of the mat. She hit her face and ended up in the ER for most of the day and got a nasty black eye. The staff was very responsive and they gave us a reimbursement for the cab to the hospital, and as soon as they could then downgraded the room size to one that had a walk in shower. If I were them I would have been refunding a LOT more than that. They offered us some free drinks at the bar. To a woman that had just gotten a concussion they offered a solution of free drinks.

London for the First Time

The staff were friendly and efficient. We had a problem with no heat. It was fixed later the same evening. The room was comfortable and very quiet. There was some minor construction nearby that was not an issue. I expected more space for the price but it was acceptable and the location was great. We were happy we chose it.

Nice hotel but warning: construction and noise

Very nice hotel with pleasant and responsive staff. In Fitzrovia area of London - lots of restaurants, cafes and independent shops around. The problem is the construction: they are renovating the building next door and possibly using part of the hotel (north corridor) to move workers and materials around. Despite the staff assurances that construction is from 10 to 5 ish daily, the banging and hammering usually starts at 8 30 am Monday to Saturday and goes to 4 30 or 5 pm. Don't plan to nap or sleep in the hotel during the day. I was on 4th floor and seriously thought of changing hotels but the surrounding ones of equal quality were booked. I hope for the sake of future travellers this construction will be over soon as it is a major pain in the ass and can be heard on at least the top 2 floors. I was not warned of the construction on booking - it was an unpleasant surprise. Otherwise the hotel is clean, has bigger rooms and great service. Excellent stay at the Rathbone Hotel

We had a great weekend stay at the Rathbone. The location was fabulous, being only a few minutes walk away from Oxford St and theatre land for the shows, and just around the corner from the hotel there are lots of pubs, restaurants and shops.
Our room was very comfortable and quiet, with a super king bed, nice linens and fluffy towels, plus other nice furnishings and a good shower in the ensuite.
The room and hotel generally was well finished and maintained. Lobby, reception area, bar and dining areas all looked great with a classic Older London hotel look and opulent finishes.
The staff were very friendly and attentive and dealt with a minor issue of maintenance immediately.
Thanks for a lovely stay! We'll be back, if returning to the area.

Booked by my husband as a birthday surprise. A great hotel in a quiet part of Fitzrovia though walking distance to many bars and eateries.

The staff were warm, friendly and welcoming - both at the front desk, and at breakfast. The room was lovely with a super comfortable bed. The continental breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed the Spanish options too.

All in all a brilliant stay. Will stay again for sure.

Nice, at the right price. Location can’t be faulted in the middle of magical Fitzrovia and on the edge of Soho. Lovely staff. Nice, small lounge area and bar at reception. The rooms are spotlessly clean, but dated, like a reminder of hotels from the 70s and 80s. My price was €160 for my night, which was acceptable - but if the price had been much higher I would have been less content. Would happily stay again at the right price point.

As our first time in London, we were lucky to have found this place! A great location near SOHO, so many food options in walking distance. Lots of cute shops and coffee shops just out the front door. A modest but cozy hotel in the heart of things in London. It probably doesn’t merit a 4 rating, but it’s perfectly fine. My room was a bit scruffy and didn’t resemble the pictures online, but it was clean and comfortable. The staff are just amazing! Friendly and lovely. The breakfast room staff knew everyone by name and could not have been nicer. It’s not a luxury hotel but definitely worth taking a look at.

Avoid during renovations!

There are building and scaffolding works, and when being checked in, the friendly guy at reception assured me there should be no real issue with noise. I even booked an extra night there and then with him directly which was extortionate. The building works start at 8am which is reasonable if not a little annoying, however- the builders are on-site chatting and moving things around at 7am!!! To start the clanging and banging from 8. Basically i got little sleep, was very irritable and felt deceived with the price they charged for that night i booked directly. Otherwise, the room, need and sheets are very comfortable and the deep bath tub is lovely. Rathbone, like many other girls, talk a big game about reusing towels if hung up, but change them daily regardless.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially at the front desk.
I enjoyed the neighborhood. It was in comfortable walking distance to the British Museum and tube stations. There are some truly great restaurants very nearby.
I’d reserved a reasonably priced room with a single twin bed which wasn’t luxurious but suited my needs. It was in the back and quiet.

Nice Hotel!

Lovely hotel in Fitzrovia. Standard room is a little small by American standards and I’d likely spring for a bigger room next time. Perfectly adequate for solo travellers though. But no marks subtracted as the room was very nice and very clean. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. They nicely stored our luggage before we checked in. Great location for getting around lots of places in Central London too!

Great location. Lots of good restaurants and pubs nearby. Very close to the Tottenham Court Road tube station. The neighborhood is beautiful, central but not too touristy. The hotel itself is located off a small side street so it's very quiet at night.
Our room was clean and comfortable. The bed is slightly on the softer side, which I liked but my husband found a little uncomfortable. The only weird thing was the water. We felt like we couldn't rinse the soap off our hands or body after washing. Not sure if it had to do with minerality of the water or the soap itself. Other than that, everything was great.

This hotel is a great find, it’s close to everything you could need and the dining options in the area are great. It’s in walking distance to Oxford Street, SoHo, West End theatres etc. the hotel itself has good sized rooms and the decor is lovely.

There was an issue with my room which i reported which did not get attended to however the follow up from the management team was great. I really feel that if you had any issues when staying at this hotel they would take it seriously and do whatever they could to rectify it.

If highly recommend this hotel if staying in London.

Nice stay

Well located old style hotel with lots of gild and wood. Very clean room and comfy bed.
The air conditionning is noisy (but easy to blank out after a while) and a bit fiddly to use. Strong wifi.
Towels were changed despite me leaving them hanging and not on the floor.

Martina was dream! Absolute star employee! the property was gorgeous and clean and quaint. The location was perfect, smack dab in the heart of Soho. The staff was super kind and helpful. The only issue I had, was that we were woken up almost everyday of our stay early by extremely loud construction and drilling inside the building in the rooms right above us. It was a really uncomfortable experience, but overall, the staff and property were lovely. :)

We loved our stay at The Rathbone Hotel! The location is perfect - it's right in the heart of Fitzrovia and close to Soho, Regents Park, and tons of great restaurants. Martina and the rest of the team were so kind and welcoming. They were very sweet with our baby as well. We can't wait to come back!

Convenient, stylish home base in London

This was a lovely, well kept, historical hotel and a very convenient home base for nearby parks, restaurants, pubs! Room service daily was extraordinary as was hotel desk/bar service. My only thoughts are to have that nice lobby fireplace actually lit on a rainy evening, and I don’t know that I would say the hotel has a bar. Rather there is someone there who will mix a drink for you to sit in the lobby to relax after a busy day. Nice touch. We enjoyed our 5 nights there.
