The hotel room was comfy, and great location. We can walk to all the restaurants and shopping on Oxford Street. We arrived by 8:30am and were able to get an early check in by 12pm. Great customer service and will definitely return. This hotel is a 15 min walk from Tottenham court station. We were out daily and did not try the restaurant in the hotel.

This hotel provides among the largest rooms at a London hotel. The rooms are fabulous - clean, spacious, comfortable, with an espresso machine, huge bathroom, umbrella to borrow - a true feeling of great elegance. The hotel's location is perfect - lots of shops, cafes, restaurants nearby as well as two major Tube stations. The hotel's restaurant is excellent.

The room’s bathroom was created from large panes of plate glass partitioning it off from the main room where the bed was. There were sheer white curtains to give the illusion of privacy. Not ideal, and definitely not what ide expect for almost $500 per night. The hallways were dark… I mean no lights except for the room numbers lit in the floor (!) in front of each door. Elevators were the same- super dark. Lobby was very weird as well, mostly empty.
This is called a five star hotel in some places, but in my opinion it’s 3 stars at best.
Does have a good location, lots of hot water…. But I’d never book here again.

A/C is not working and there is 25 degrees of Celsius in the room during the night without any chance to ventilate. Staff is not responding to this. Also, staff is not communicating anything during a test for alarm.

The A/C in the first room they gave me smelled quite bad and was rather noisy. I was moved into a different room which was much better, which was great. However, the hotel seems to be past its prime and could do with a big makeover. Seems worn down and not really a 5* hotel.

Room 335 is apparently next door to the staff store room/ facilities room; from 06.30 to 11.00 door constantly banging at a rate of 40 times per hour. Management could resolve with a slow close mechanism or door stop - but obviously don't.

Good speedy check-in. Lovely room….however
We arrived at night so they either need to explain that you need to shut all the black-out curtains (including the ones around the bathroom) or they need to do a turndown service. It was only when I showered in the morning I realise ld there were other curtains to shut - annoying.
Had a couple of drinks in the V bright bar. Service was ok - not great.
Probably wouldn’t stay there again to be honest.

The hotel is at the bottom end of the 5 star bracket
Not very nice rooms, they seem to have spend all the money on the lobby and left the rooms with little thought.

Breakfast expensive and not very good.

We did get a room upgrade upon pushing the topic at reception due to my Expedia platinum although the upgrade was hardly noticeable.

The hallways are dark and loud and not inviting.

The building itself had seen better days.

I think it’s over priced as the rooms are a little tired or the ones I have stayed in,
Also we were entitled to a free upgrade if there was one available , there’s wasn’t one available but when the music in the bar area was too loud at midnight we complained and they upgraded us! Makes you think they don’t really want to upgrade you
I have stayed here quiet a few times and there sister hotel near Covent Garden ,think I will try somewhere else next time… Sorry !!

The Sanderson is in many ways a great hotel, but the rooms are in a poor state of maintenence. The handheld shower fixture was so badly chipped that one of the of sharp edges resulted in cuts to 2 fingers, lots of blood, and a trip to the hospital. Dangerous!

Nice hotel. A little worn around the edges. The room was comfortable with nice design elements but a little impractical. The lack of door on the bathroom was interesting and the bathroom lacked basic supplies (cotton buds, shower cap etc.) that you'd expect for a 5* property. That said the hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly, including organising a nice birthday surprise for my partner.

Disappointing Service Undermines a relatively nice property.

I had high expectations given its reputation and pricing. On the positive side, the location is excellent, the room was spacious, and the modern aesthetic is appealing.

However, the experience was consistently let down by service issues. Roughly 50% of interactions with staff were negative in some way, usually ending with an apology from management. These weren’t isolated incidents, but part of a clear pattern suggesting a lack of proper training or oversight. While apologies came frequently, they felt like a substitute for the meaningful investment needed to improve the guest experience.

At no point during my stay did the service meet 5-star standards. Key issues included:
•Initial room change required due to cleanliness issues, continued during stay until management intervention
•TV Remote control randomly missing from the room
•Faulty window blinds requiring engineer visit
• Breakfast incident where I was incorrectly profiled as someone who might leave without paying, despite having signed the check was challenged whilst eating(!), signed check at my table ... challenged for payment/signature again on exit and challenged a third time on the way to the elevator with the caveat statement that \"we've had many people leave without paying (!)

The pattern of errors and missteps left a lasting impression, I can't imagine how the Sanderson merits a 5-star rating.

It was fine but nothing special, certainly not as good as I was expecting. The hotel is looking a little dated and tired and in need of rejuvenation. The glass walls in the rooms, masked by net curtains, are something of a hazard as are the low hanging lights on a metal rod.

Disappointing!

Very disappointing. This is NOT a five star hotel; it’s a substandard conversion of a sixties concrete carbuncle. Connecting doors and stairways are tired and look shabby, with ill fitting carpets on some stairways.

Website advertises an array of amenities which were not available such as the purple bar, which features in many of the promotional photographs, and pool table area (a private event was in place). If these are not available, remove them from the website as we had planned on spending a vibrant evening in these areas. Instead we had to leave the hotel and find other venues.

Music from the private event boomed until 1am preventing sleep on night two.

The room was quite strange, with net curtains acting as partitions between the wash and sleeping areas, with minimal privacy for those using the facilities.

Inadequate power socket placements for the 21st century with nothing in reach of the beds for phone / watch charging.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was disappointed with the overall condition of the property. The hotel feels old, and the floors were visibly dirty with strange stains that seemed impossible to clean. While the service was fine, the biggest issue was the room temperature—by noon, it became unbearably hot, and the air conditioning was too weak to make a difference. Unfortunately, this made it difficult to relax during the day. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless these issues are addressed.

Great hotel with exceptional service in superb loc

Stayed here for 2 nights over valentines to visit the theatre. Hotel is very stylish with a minimalist-luxe feel. Bedroom was very big with a huge really comfortable super-king bed.

We were checked in by Silvia (from Macedonia) who was completely charming and super-friendly and gave us a glass of champagne as we checked in (their Valentines special welcome!), hotel is in a great location, just minutes walk from Oxford Street and Soho/theatre-land.

This is not a 5* hotel by any stretch. Queue for check in. Poor quality superior room. Feels like a converted office space - googled it - it is converted office space. No bath in room. No plugs near mirror for your heart straightener ladies.

We were 2nd floor. In bed at 10pm - DJ below was pumping base till midnight, felt like we were in the party. Hotel offered me ear plug.

Toilet didn’t work in morning.

Room service food excellent 5*.
Breakfast very good food but understaffed meant 20 mins plus wait plus queue to get in.

The rooms are not clean and there are no wall electric plugs on either side of the bed. The front office had to bring an extension cord so we are able to use the electricity on both sides of the bed. I travelled all over the world and I never heard or seen anything like it before!

Certainly not the the glamour spot of old, needs some investment. But clean and convenient. Mattresses too hard for us and pillows a bit lumpy. Our room overlooked unattractive rear view and we had to be careful that buildings opposite couldn’t see into our room. Overall adequate.
