We enjoyed our stay on NY Eve which was to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel has a great location, just opposite Carnaby Street and Soho. The room was fine, great bed and very quiet, although perhaps a little dated and we had some issues with the hot water flow. We dined out and can recommend Bill's which is a short walk into Soho.
The bar is really nice, if v pricey, and has some of the original cells where several celebs spent time when this was a Court. The breakfast was good, except the coffee which was average filter coffee in a thermos jug, more what you expect in a Travelodge not a five star hotel! The pool is small but we enjoyed our dip and the sauna is good. Overall, we had a great time and the staff were very friendly.

When ever I’m in London I stay at the courthouse as it’s close to all the day and night life, restaurants etc, super convenient to reach transportation. Staff are great, there’s breakfast on site. Highly recommend.

The venue is very well located for Carnaby street and the room was nice. WiFi in the room non existent, the member of staff said it worked for him but seems not to work on Apple devices. I visited the sky bar but the staff member was so engrossed in her phone on a side room that she didn’t even acknowledge me so I left again. Fitness centre is something of an exaggeration. Average place for a high end cost.

Overall a nice stay. There was an eighteenth birthday party in the main bar with loud music which could be heard from our room on the first floor. Not good. The staff were efficient but on checkout when my wife stated we found the hotel interesting especially regarding the history etc which is part of the hotels appeal. The staff appeared bemused and couldn't understand what was meant, maybe a bit of education regarding the hotels history would make for better small talk.

Could be a great hotel but too many staff standing around looking important but doing nothing. Room was clean, quiet and well appointed. Bed was really comfortable and large.
Do not use the roof bar, appalling, especially the food which seemed to be bought from a local fast food outlet.

Nice stay but I could have done without the music

The hotel is quite unique in that it the building used to be a courthouse and elements of its prior life are preserved throughout. The staff were friendly and professional and the hotel is clean.

The pool is managed and run by the spa which is sited on the basement level. The pool looked like it needed a good shock treatment as the water was hazy. There were not very many pool chairs available and it appears to function more as a waiting area for the spa than a hotel amenity.

The biggest disappointment with my stay was the obnoxious music every night from the bar on the 6th floor (our room was on the 5th floor). The unsolicited discotheque ran every night from around 6pm to 11pm. Hotel staff were apologetic but seemingly powerless to do anything about the loud thumping music. I advise you to not let them place you on the 5th floor.

Loved our stay in this beautiful hotel! We received an upgrade on our room, as we are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. It was a fantastic room and very spacious. The staff, particularly the front of house team, were very helpful and did their best to accommodate us on our arrival. Love the history associated with the building and its close proximity to theatres/restaurants. Would definitely visit again!

This is not an accessible property. They do not offer step in showers. They lie and represent that they have accessible features but it's a fraud. i.e. accessible entrance. One has to be able to climb 2 stairs without a railing to reach the call bell to get the entrance door opened. Further, I booked this property 5 months before staying and they were not enthused to resolve anything because the current rack rate was much higher. The manager did offer a solution for the lack of a usable shower to include showering in the common health facility in the basement. This is a skip it and don't be fooled.

My husband and I LOVED this location… extremely close to Oxford Circus bus stop and right off of Regent. Even better, it was right across the street from Caraby Street. Great restaurants and vibe. Despite the noise you hear while on the street, you don’t hear any noise in your room. We had a room with a king-sized bed. Our room was not ready even after the 3pm check-in; but the staff went out of their way to apologize and accommodate us. The lifts are small; however, I’m grateful that they were there as some hotels in London don’t have them. The front door is a little obscure and if you get back to the hotel “after hours” then you have to ring the doorbell to be let in. We were very happy with our stay and would do so again.

Shamefully Misrepresented — Not a 5-Star Hotel

Our stay at the Courthouse Hotel Soho was, without exaggeration, a huge disappointment and nearly ruined the end of our 10-year anniversary trip.

The 6th floor corridor (where our room was) was mid-carpet replacement, and a housekeeping vacuum lived permanently outside our door. The bathroom had an exposed sewer drain making it reek of sewage we had to cover it with a coffee cup and paper to manage the smell. The AC leaked, soaking the carpet, and the shower swung from scalding to freezing, making it unsafe. Slippers were cheap and paper-thin.

The hotel is old, in dire need of renovation, and nowhere near 5-star quality. Hotels.com offered zero help; the hotel refused a refund. We’ve stayed in 3rd world countries with far better accommodations. They should be ashamed to market this as luxury.

Perfect location for Oxford Street. Very friendly staff and a good size room. It’s a bit tired; the hooks were falling off the bathroom door, there were bits of rust etc. the bath had several hairs in it and the toilet had an old poo. Very off putting! Surprising for a hotel of this type not to have a little fridge

We were given an upgrade on arrival, which was nice, but if this was the upgrade, who knows what our original room was like!

This is not a five star hotel. The decor is dated and very tired. Plug socket in the bathroom was pushed in, out of its frame. Sash window cord was broken. Air conditioning was set at 24 degrees and could not be reduced. Wardrobe drawers didn't close. There were nail varnish stains on the carpet and a cigarette burn on a chair.

On the plus side, it's very central, the The Palladium next door, Carnaby Street opposite and Oxford Circus within a 5 minute walk.

Area was convenient to underground, dining and theaters. The hotel seems drab. Needs some updating. Lobby often smelled like smoke even though this is a non-smoking property. Wish the roof top deck was fully enclosed so we could have used it more often despite occasional rain.

Lobby reception dark very low lighting. Felt it was night time. Strange feeling in middle of the day. A bit off putting but thankfully met by impeccable dressed smiling friendly concierge and reception. Immediately helped with my request for extra tea bags and fresh milk. Disappointed that room offering refreshments very skimpy. No mini bar in room and in room service food very slow. Did not answer phone and when they finally did answer, slammed phone down impatiently before I had chance to even say thank you. After hour wait, one of the impeccably dressed professional gentlemen from reception delivered our pizza in the end. He kindly took notice earlier my daughter & I were hungry after asking him an hour earlier when I ventured downstairs why no one was available to take our order on the phone. Not asking for much. The sockets in the tiny room dodgy. Wonky sideways and big holey gaps behind fittings, Lamp beside bed did not work, no side table. Bathroom floor dirty. I have travelled paid half the price in other hotels for room with facilities better than this. Understand we have to spend more for location. We slept soundly though, bed comfortable and via expedia thankfully only money I don't mind spending as understand must spend more for such a fab location. Would stay again.

Nice hotel but lots of little things that I feel have been ignored that if they were addressed, it would make the hotel perfect. I’ve already left a note with the hotel so won’t detail all the issues here, but just lots of little things that need better attention to detail.
I was also really shocked that the bars in the hotel were closed by 10:30 on a Saturday night! I usually expect a bar in a hotel to be open late for residents. I couldn’t so much as get a Diet Coke! So that was extremely disappointing.

We only spent 1 night here to attend a show at the London Palladium. The hotel was excellent the staff were very helpful, the room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. The only issue we had was the sign outside was very small and partially covered by a large plant and we walked straight past the entrance and only found it on the way back up the road

Understated entrance leads to a glam reception

We had a very short overnight stay to attend the Palladium for a show.Location could not be better for the theatre and shops including the famous libertys of London!Hotel entrance and reception felt exclusive due to the understated door way,which led to a large glamorous reception.Staff were polite and friendly.Kindly brought us lots more milk and tea bags late at night.Wish we had more time to try the pool but we have to be out of our room by 11am,which is average for most hotels.

We were upgraded which was a lovely surprise. AJ and the rest of the staff were great - friendly, courteous and efficient. The location of this hotel is great. A couple of minutes from Oxford Circus tube and bang in the middle of the West End. Room was large with a comfortable bed, large TV with Sky channels and a chaise longer. Plenty of toiletries were supplied. We paid for breakfast and I thought it was very good value. There was a variety of cold meats, smoked salmon and cheeses. Yoghurts, fresh fruits, breads, cereals and pastries. You could order poached or boiled eggs etc and on the buffet were Cumberland sausages, back bacon, beans, scrambled eggs. Hash browns, tomatoes and mushrooms. The sausages especially were delicious. I would definitely stay here again.

So convenient for The London Palladium which is where I was heading. Fantastic restaurant choices in the immediate area and right in the middle of fabulous shopping options. The roof top restaurant wasn’t open due to inclement weather. With my mobility issues there wasn’t a handrail to grab on the few steps up to the entrance but I managed ok - there is perhaps a disabled entrance.
The hotel staff were very welcoming and my room very clean tidy and quiet. All good thank you

We arranged a pickup from the airport which was a great start. The hotel was lovely and well situated. James the concierge was super helpful - got us tickets and gave us recommendations! The pool/ sauna was a nice feature and they even opened it early for us one day. Breakfast was great and the staff was very attentive.

Spacious room with plenty of light even though it overlooked the internal courtyard. Very comfy beds and quiet corridors meant we had one of our best nights sleep in a hotel ever! We ventured up to the roof terrace briefly but as it was mid-December so cold and rain was forecast they had to close early, which I don’t blame them! Service was excellent throughout though. Would definitely stay again

Poor service from staff and a very tired hotel. We stayed over New Years Eve and were given a room where the key card wasn't working. Had to contact concierge every time we wanted to be let into the room which was a serious pain. Staff gave us the run around for over 3 hours saying it would be fixed before eventually admitting they couldn't even get in contact with the repair company.

Topped off with only half a shower screen existing on the bath tub and a barely flushing toilet.

Good location, right by Oxford Circus. Room was quiet once inside.

On 2 visits to reception, our door keys still didn’t work so the concierge escorted us and advised the door lock was faulty, along with other rooms on our floor!
