Pleasant welcome and an easy check-in. Room was very comfortable, clean, with all you would need for a short stay. A great location just off Oxford Street, close to Bond Street tube station. Highly recommended for a few nights in Central London.

The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean - BUT it was at the top of many, many stairs! For this Grammy, that made things difficult. Check-in was good and a nice young woman carried my bag when I asked for help. Check out was not so good - I’d been told someone would help with my carry on bag - in reality, a rather grumpy man told me on the phone that I was on my own. I won’t stay again although the location was fabulous!

I checked in today but found the place to be badly maintained, toilet walls were dirty, heater were not working and there is no lift and we were placed on fourth floor. We feedback but your staff were not helpful. The condition of the room was not acceptable and we left. I would like to request for a refund for my booking.

Did not know we had to navigate all of the skinny stairs. Room was smaller than expected and very hot. Thankfully there was a fan but I just made it okay. It did the trick, but was over priced compared to our other two Marriott airport hotels

Check in was easy and the gentleman at reception was very friendly. There is a narrow flight of stairs to get to reception. We were able to leave bags in the small reception area as we arrived early. Our room was across the road in another building on the 3rd floor (no lift) Room size was ok but basic. Did have hairdryer and tv but no other extras. Shower was great though. Furnishings tired with knocks and chipped paint around bases. Excellent location and ok for 1 night.

Ideal position, being just off Oxford Street, 10 minute walking distance from London Palladium. Bed linen and towels spotlessly clean. Bathroom clean. Beds a bit hard and uncomfortable unfortunately. In general room had everything we needed although in need off some refurbishment. Good value for what we paid in comparison to other hotel prices in that area.

The area is very accessible fo anything. The only thing we dont like is we discovered a lot pf black mold at the bathroom ceiling. We experience body itxhy during pur stay. First time i stayed in a hotel dont hope soap shampoo and conditioner.

Room was very small but was in excellent location, with lots of tube and trains stations around. There was safe streets and lots of shopping around, easy acess to the hop on hop off bus. Owner is very nice and always there to anawer questions. Very pleasant stay>

Relatively inexpensive for the neighborhood and location is great, the manager greeted us outside and was friendly and booking was smooth. Note that the room was on the top fifth floor, so tons of stairs to haul luggage. The main down downsides were the building is old and quite rundown, though they were clearly doing some touch up painting and are working to improve its rather rundown interior.

The cleanliness of the rooms was ok, for while the actual pillow cases/linens and bathroom (which was clearly redone and is nice) were clean (critical), the room has many wall stains and floor spots and we found half a bottle of water and a leftover part packet of ED pills under/between bed and walls (eeewww!).
I also had a loose carpet staple stick my foot, which I pulled out for safety.

All things told, despite a couple significant detractions, we really enjoyed our stay, and I do believe this manager and property are on the upswing and worth trying!

The place is in a convenient part of the city. We felt comfortable walking around. The bathroom was in need of a deep clean. Lots of mildew and the toilet needed a special trick to get it to flush. Our bed was VERY hard but the kids’ beds were fine. Flat pillows. They did come in and straighten up every day and give us plenty of towels. That is not the norm always. For the price it was fine. The restaurant downstairs was very good and very accommodating.

NO AIR CONDITIONING!!! The location was awesome. The room was small but was ok for our family of 4. No breakfast. We were in Room 4. The restroom had mold. The room was more less clean but not spotless. It would have been great if it was swept and mopped.
The older, front desk guy was not very nice. I saw a sign stating there was breakfast from 8-9:30am and he denied it being displayed. He was short and rude that there was no way I could have seen that. I told him no problem and hung up.

The smallest room I have ever been in. You couldn’t walk around the bottom of the bed window opened a fraction To a brick wall. 2 tea bags and 2 satchets of dried milk. It was disgusting bed was uncomfortable. A hot night small cheap and Nast fan provided that made an awful noise all night. We felt ripped off

Central hotel off Bond Street. Ideal for a reasonably priced stay bang in the centre of London. It is not far from Soho and about a 10 minute walk. The room I was in was a bit dated but perfectly clean, functional and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay and will return on my next work trip.

The Mermaid Suites Hotel is in a very central and convenient area, good for shopping and dining, and close to Bond St Station. The room we had was small, but the bed was comfortable. It was a bit shabby and dated, but if all you want is bed for the night at a very good price, it’s a good hotel.

The shower tab was clogged, every one must stop showering twice before completing!
It’s a very old building from 1870s which is fine, but there is no sound insulation. It was hard to sleep when upstair guests were walking and the room maids make noise and phone talks right outside at the room. The room was clean!
Nevertheless, the location is so convenient, you can ignore the other inconveniences.

Ok I guess for the price I didn't expect too much, after climbing a flight of stairs with my suitcase to the reception and checking in I was informed my room was in the building across the street, now that was a challenge 5 flights of stairs with my suitcase. Ok now the room at 1st glance it was clean, then start looking around cobwebs up high, damp/mold in the bathroom. The noise all night from the street below, the bed was an old fashioned spring bed, with the springs worn out, the pillows were as flat as a pancake. So overall not the best of experiences in a hotel choice. Hey for $80 I guess it worked.
As for the location it was excellent, close to Mayfair and New Bond street, amazing shopping are and not too far from the Tube Station.

The Mermaid Hotel has been great - it is definitely no 5 star, and probs not for everyone. Very Faulty Towers like ...

It's above a shop - no lift - skinny terraced stairs - takes a while for the hot water to kick in - the floors creak - the ceiling creaks from the floors upstairs ... But ...

The man in reception is really pleasant - the room was cleaned every day - it has WiFi - just off New Bond Street (the most expensive street in Lodon) one street behind Oxford Street situated between Bond & Oxford Circus Stations ... You could never go past the LOCATION - LOCATION - LOCATION ...

I would recommend the Mermaid to anyone who owns ear plugs - understand creaking ceilings can be an issue if you are trying to sleep - and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Cheap, good location, get what you pay for.

I stayed for one night and needed nothing more than somewhere to crash. This hotel at £64 in a central location provided that. It is located in a set of different buildings with the main entrance by the Pizza Restaurant. There are lots of steep stairs, six flights upto my small room. Anyone getting on in years or with mobility issues or even heavy luggage is going to struggle. The room was small and dimly lit. The bed functional. A closer inspection reveals the knocks, dirt etc which would benefit from a good tidy up. Sheets and towels all clean. In summary it's a low budget place in a good location. Don't expect more and you won't be too disappointed.

We had an overnight stay in a triple room, which was very spacious and very clean. Being a February break it was lovely to have a well heated room and comfy beds.
It’s not a luxury hotel by any standard but it’s in a great location and the restaurant was superb (amazing pizzas)!

The property is in a very good central location near Oxford Street. The public transportation is also nearby. Lots of shops and food places. The set up of the property is divided. Our place was across the mermaid hotel entrance. They had rooms service every day with fresh towels which was excellent. The only complaint is that we had no WiFi. We had to step out into the stairwell to get any connection. And even then, it was very poor. I have a phone carrier with weak overseas data so it was paramount that I had WiFi. Unfortunately this was a big minus. The rest of the stay was good.

For this money in central London this is an excellent place to stay. Our room was clean, functional, quiet and air-conditioned. The beds were comfortable and the shower good. The reception staff are helpful and pleasant.
The accommodation is relatively basic as you would expect at this price point but you can pay a lot more for very little extra.

Our stay started off disappointing as we carried all of our bags up the narrow stairwell to check in, only to find out that our room was not even in the same building, but across the street instead. However, we arrived to our private & HUGE family room with plenty of beds and space. The shower was perfect & was in its own room with sink/mirror. The toilet was in another room with sink/mirror making it convenient for multi-person sharing. The wifi was strong and beds were cozy. The only things that bothered us were the dirtiness of the walls/couch and the unclear layout of the hotel. Otherwise, we were quite happy with how it turned out! I would definitely recommend the family rooms for other groups of travelers!

It was a really good location. Near things I wanted to see and very close to a couple of underground stations. The room was small but fine for one night. I would stay here again

There were only 3 negatives.
1. The man at the desk did not have the best customer service. It wasn’t bad it was just not good
2. The room was different from the pictures online. The bathroom was smaller looking. I didn’t need much but I would appreciate accurate photographs
3. There were very steep narrow stairs to get to the room. If you had health problems or large heavy luggage, this could be a problem. It wasn’t a deal breaker for me but I would have liked to have known

Stayed for 1 night was quite happy it served a purpose which was somewhere not too pricey. And within walking distance to Hyde Park. Shower was amazing but the mattress on the bed was a little tired! But actually had my best nights sleep for over a week. Room was clean a little dated. No toiletries although plenty of towels, complimentary tea and coffee but had to ask for a teaspoon. I would stop again for a short stay and a budget hotel in a very good location

Great location!! The hotel it’s a bit outdated but it’s clean and comfortable. Right beside stores, restaurants and public transportation. They let us live our suitcases in the hotel after our check out that we can still use the remaining time to go see things before our departing time which was super convenient. Definitely recommend it.

Without small properties like this, we would never have been able to afford to stay in such a great, safe area of London. The room was small but clean and comfortable. We stayed in the family room for 3 people on the 3rd floor (stairs only) My son had a twin bed in a little alcove around a corner. The location was excellent. I was very satisfied with the Mermaid Suite Hotel.
