The service was exceptional. On the second morning I was woken by the sounds of construction taking place in the room above mine. It went on for hours. When I informed the staff at reception, with my permission they moved my things to a suite while I was out. I was traveling alone so the suite wasn't essential, but I appreciated the gesture. All of the staff was very kind and welcoming. A steak ordered from room service at 2 AM exceeded expectations. A great experience overall.

We had paid for two rooms which were £900 a night, one for ourselves and then one for our friends

We arranged for gifts upon your arrival of our close friends when we booked in. Unfortunately we were booked in wrong rooms which spoilt the surprise

Matters went from bed to worse when we were going back to our room to be checked in and the lift broke down and we were stuck in the lift

Admittedly this could happen to anyone unfortunately, my wife has just had a knee replacement and we acted then walk back up three flights of stairs

At £900 a night for each room we did expect breakfast. However, this wasn’t included so we did pay extra for the breakfast

We noticed other guests in the room will be offered refills of coffees and extra extra food. Yet we were ignored for some reason.

The evening manager who came on duty after we can play in about our room being next to the extractor fans did manage to change rooms for us. He put a lot of effort in. Can’t remember his name but he was an Irish guy

Haven’t stayed in many hotels in the Mayfair area or five star. This one proved to be quite disappointing.

Very disappointing - understandably priced due to location however it’s very dated and run down. Needs a lot of money spent on it for it to be the standard of a Mayfair hotel. Wouldn’t stay again. Originally had a room booked in the traditional side and requested to be changed to the contemporary side of the hotel which i was charged another lump sum for the same titled room.

This is one of my favourite London hotels. The location is second to none and the service is lovely. Although the rooms are starting to show their age a bit, they’re still lovely. My only gripes (and they’re small) are that they no longer have room toiletries from Bamford and their room service isn’t as good as it once was.

Overall, my stay was excellent. I couldn't have asked for better service or a more attentive staff. Everyone was courteous and helpful. I arrived at around 9:00 am and my room was ready 30 minutes later. My room was re-made regularly. Any time I asked for something, the staff was able to quickly accommodate my request. In addition to the room, the hotel's two bars are terrific. Couldn't have asked for a better stay.

This hotel is top notch! Other than the astronomical price tag, I cannot complain about anything. The staff has been phenomenal, making me feel as though this is my home for my short stay. The room service food was actually delicious which is a pleasant surprise as I find hotel food to be average at most places. The neighborhood is spectacular for shopping and people watching. And the bed...heavenly! Treat yourself, you deserve this amazing experience!

Having been in very good hotels in London many times, I chose The Connaught for a vacation of 10 days with my wife. Although, it was the tradiditional high level British service I was looking for, the hotel seems to be more appropriate for business travels, giving its small rooms with no relevant technology and the lack of open spaces or living rooms. Service compensate most of this weaknesses though.

The hotel has an excellent central location but I stayed in the Sutherland floor which is a modern wing with iacks the charm of the old hotel. I prefer Claridges which is grander, has more attentive staff and faster filling baths.

The place of the hotel is really perfect for shopping trips. There are nice shops in the same road.
Furthermore, there is a nice Spa with swimmingpool available for all guests of the hotel.
The hotel staff is helpful and always friendly. Our room was nice but old fashioned. It smelled of cigarettes through the air conditioner but I think dis was due to the guest next to our room who was smoking without permission!

I would really recommend this hotel.

The Connaught continues to be my home in London. I stay here on average 3 to 4 times a year. The hotel is a classic with unparallelled service. There was a new change this time in that the Verandah Restaurant is now run by Jean Georges. The new decor is nice, but by putting more tables in, the tables with views onto Carlos Place are fewer.

I can't go back to the other Mayfair hotels again.

I have tried various hotels in St. James and Mayfair, always planning to splurge one day at The Connaught. The week finally arrived and I will never go back to the former hotels! Worth every pence. The location is perfect, the staff efficient but not stuffy. Chris, the concierge, was heroic and successful in a herculean task of finding a Sunday magazine 2 weeks old. The housekeeping staff was invisible while keeping the room tidy. I missed having a Nespresso machine in the room or coffee available in the lobby. Room service charge for coffee was exhorbitant so i went across the street to the Mount Strret Deli each morning for a delicious latte instead. Oh yes, you too could be lucky and see Michael Caine chatting up The Connaught doorman.

From the moment we arrived until we checked out our expectations were continuously exceeded. The rooms, amenities and service were all first class. This is a truly great hotel, and one which we have much enjoyed in the past, but they let us down badly. We arrived late, and the room on offer was tiny. It had no chest of drawers and the closet was scarcely 24 inches wide, making it impossible for us to unpack. Pleasant view and fine bathroom, but for a hotel with a claim to first-rate status (and for $800 dollars a night), it was unacceptable. We wonder if booking through Hotels.com made a difference, since we have used Amex in the past.

The Connaught is one of the quintessentially British Hotels. It is like an elegant club with all the modern conveniences. Great lighting in the room with every possible amenity. I specifically like the modern wing with its huge walk in shower. When in London, and looking for a very British Hotel, this is the place to stay.

Mixing the old with the new hits some bumps....

As someone who has been staying at The Connaught for half a century I know it well. I had not been back since the refurbishing until now. The staff is well trained and understands great customer service. The attempt to retain some of the old with new had some hits and misses: keeping wood paneling was smart but planting a red wall & very modern art piece behind reception desk, a disaster. But that's a personal call. Adding business center & spa & pool a big plus. Some of the rooms are so small it is impossible to open a closet door without getting onto your bed..so careful! Having worked for a travel magazine for years, I know hotels, and this room and bath seemed to have been designed for a man...again, my personal take on it. Their doormen were superb, and the staff's desire to make you feel at home makes up for the shortcomings in the room design.

Pure Elegance in the Heart of Mayfair

Old world SOPHISTICATED LUXURIOUS CHARM..

As we got out of our taxi we were greeted by a cheerful friendly doorman who immediately took care of our luggage and guided us into the sumptuous hotel. The atmosphere of the hotel is sophisticated, friendly, and pure luxury. Everything about this hotel is perfection from the staff in every department, the wonderful spa in the vaults of the building, decor and good size of the room, comfortable bed and fast room service.
We LOVED our stay at the Connaught and I cannot find a single fault with it. It is now my favourite hotel in London...

Beautiful, charming perfectly situated Hotel

We both so enjoyed our stay at the Connaught, service was exceptional. The room was perfect. As soon as we walked into the hotel, the staff greeted us, actually outside of the hotel we were warmly greeted. The fragrance in the lobby was wonderful, and as we walked towards the elevators, there was another wonderful fragrance, coming from the Aman Spa. Our room was very nicely decorated, comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was also so nice. Love the shower, and bath soaps, robes and slippers.

We had breakfast in our room every morning, delicious, and we were sent a tasty gift because it was our anniversary.

All our needs were taken care of, and ALL the staff were friendly and polite, as well as very charming.

We would return in a heart beat.
