We had a very bad adventure at Maddox. Despite the perfectly located address, we didn’t stay more than an hour.
There is no elevator and steep staircase when I just received form a three month cast for a broken foot. There was no indication online that this was a full step only access. 2/ they say there is a gym with sauna which I so much looked forward to after a 7h journey but in fact there is NO gym onsite just a partnership unlike their ad states it online. 3/ last but not least the shower was molded and dirty (hairs and dark spots), the kitchen had grease marks on counter. 4/ when we tried to complain there was … no concierge and they claim they are a 4.5* it’s a scam for frequent travelers who like us traveler for business this is a real scam extremely disappointing with no customer service

Staff is very friendly and helpful. The downfall to this property is it doesn’t have any elevators. We had to carry 3 large suitcases up 4 steep floors. The rooms are nice and spacious. There are no amenities in the building. If you are staying at this property bring a small carry on.

Fantastic boutique hotel - spacious living area, comfy bed, fluffy towels, remote controlled air conditioning, nice kitchen area and a great location. Absolutely nothing to fault ( no lift which is worth bearing in mind but a gem of a place to stay).

The flat we stayed in was a 4th floor walk-up. It would be better if we knew that before hand. Second, the flat has some clear maintenance needs: a shower water temp knob fell off mid shower, the window in the living room is quite old and the lock latch was broken, and the doors to the bedroom and closet need to be oiled. The bed is old and way to soft, and the safe is poorly positioned at the bottom of the closet, which was about 8” from the bed…very difficult to get to.

The location is great and certainly unbeatable. Accessing the apartment was straight forward with the instructions that were sent. However, it would’ve been nice to know that it was a second floor apartment with no elevator. AC worked great. Windows seemed to be falling apart, sofa didn’t seem too clean, not did the living room rug.
The staff I contacted through email was non-communicative, but responsive: they didn’t answer but did what I asked on two occasions that I wrote. All in all, nice place to stay, just don’t expect new and clean furnishing, and certainly don’t bring bags you don’t want to carry up a few flights of stairs.

For location, and overall space, this property was a great value. The size of the apartment was perfect for a short term stay. Kitchen was well equipped. The staff was very kind and accommodating. The shower in the one bedroom is extremely small, and the bed is really only a full size. The apartment seemed clean, minus it didn't appear to have been vacuumed. The noise on the street is somewhat disruptive, but that is to be expected in such a busy area of London.

I was never updated on how to get into the building even though I spoke to an associate the night before. Housekeeping never came. The pictures included a patio - in reality it was a dingy patio. It cost 1200 for two days and frankly was in no way worth that. No sparkling wine which was promised. Honestly a complete scam

The only negative thing I can say is, the place needs a lift. We were on the the 4th floor and it was 71 steps to get there.

Floors very dirty. Have to climb 6 flights of stairs. Note in room to call concierge for anything, but no phone number for them anywhere. 1 A/C unit worked, 1 didn’t. Staff was nice, but this was not a VIP property by any means!!!!

A great find! It was nice having a living room and full kitchen to come \"home\" to at the end of a long day of walking around London. The only thing that some might find challenging is climbing the stairs because there is no lift. When we arrived, Alessio, the concierge on duty, insisted on carrying both of our heavy bags all the way up...and did so with a smile.
A welcome basket with tea, coffee, fruit and chocolate and a checkout basket of pastries were pleasant surprises.
This hotel is in a great spot - close to lots of shops, tube stations, restaurants, pubs +++. We'll hopefully be able to return soon!

This is a fabulous property centrally located to shops, restaurants, theater district, underground. It is spacious and gives more options thsn s hotel room. The staff are wonderful especially Sam. We would definitely return here for another trip.

Our experience here was positive in every way. The apartment was nicely appointed, perfectly clean. We were pleasantly surprised by the services -- we didn't realize the property has daily hotel-like service, cleaning the kitchen, replace linens etc. The staff was enjoyable and very helpful. And best of all is the location. This is right in the middle of the fashion district, but adjacent to soho. So to the west we loved walking through Grosvenor square (be sure to get a latte at the little trailer cafe) and Hyde Park. [Note that the Santander bike rental is 100 yards south of the Hyde Park entrance at Upper Brook Street.] To the east one block is all of Soho --- with its endless collection of eclectic restaurants and shops -- and the theatre district. We attended 3 plays, all within easy walking distance.) To the North and South up and down Regent Street, all the cool upscale shops, including an Apple Store. Oxford Circus is very close to the North, which is the launching point to go anywhere by tube. 200 year old All Souls Church if a 5 minute walk North on Regent for Sunday services, which we attended. (Where John Stott preached for many years.) The location is just off Regent Street far enough to avoid the noise --- so we found the location pleasantly quiet as well. Yes, there are stairs (no lift), which was well documented in the reviews -- and we were happy to climb the stairs as part of daily exercise routine!

One week with a family
5 Maddox was an absolute find. We are a family with 3 grade school kids and this was so much better than the typical cramped hotel setup. Having a full kicthen really came in handy. The location is an A+.
