Great location. Lots of shops and restaurants just outside the door. We had a the deluxe king room, comfy bed and spacious We stayed for a week and found the breakfast although good was the same everyday. The staff did their

The hotel is in an excellent condition and I was very pleasantly surprised with how big it is inside. The staff were very friendly and helpful and more so, as I was celebrating a special occasion with my boyfriend, when we walked into the bedroom we were greeted with a bottle of champagne and cheesecake on the table and the bed was beautifully decorated with a towel swan and floral petals. I was so in awe it was the most wonderful surprise. So a huge thank you to the team for making our stay so special. We will definitely be back again soon!

Our stay was excellent. They had decorated the room for our birthdays and valentines with chocolate cake and prosecco etc and upgraded us to an apartment. It made our stay very special. Bed was so comfy and the room had amazing amenities. Staff were lovely.

The hotel is really well located, the staff is nice and kind, and the breakfast is very good. Our room (executive room) had a good size and a large enough bed, but the mattress was very worn out, and had some dents. Out of the four elevators, one was out of order the entire time of our stay (5 days) and another one kept stopping and going back up, so for the most part of our stay there were only two working elevators for a hotel of that size and fully booked, which was quite inconvenient. Also, we were woken up before 8am on one of the days by maintenance noise. It only lasted about 30 minutes, but it was enough to ruin our mood for the rest of the day.

The hotel is very neat and clean and in an excellent location with excellent features. With almost 700 rooms however, it is difficult for them to offer personal service. I have stayed in other Thistle hotels which were very positive experiences, which is why I chose this one this time. But treatments were cool, requests were treated cavalierly, and it felt very \"corporate\" overall. The elevators are also far too slow to handle the traffic. There should also be a disclaimer (if not a definite reduction in rates) if you are given one of the many rooms facing inward over the air condensers. Awful! If you're looking for classy and comfortable, try the Thistle Bloomsbury.

Elevators usually 3 out if the 4 were not working my entire stay. The stairs are located in an obscure spot. There was also a timy cockaroach in my washroom. Rooms are really outdated.

Arrived early and if i checked in before 2pm, i would have to pay 200 pounds. Thereore i waited 4.5 hours in lobby after a 6+ flight to be able to check in at 2:45 pm.
I have never ever had to pay to check in early into any hotel in the world. The hotel person was pleasant about the policy. It is not a welcoming policy for the guest staying at the hotel.

Furthermore, rhete wasnt a robe as described in the hotel amenities. Also, there was free water in room. I had accumulated a couple of bottles and the maintenence person removed a couple of waters from my refrigerator. They were supposed to have been an amenity given to me every day.
The room was tended to very late

This is what I call a proper London hotel - it has everything you need. A great bar & restaurant, a coffee shop/snack bar, a convenience shop and a concierge and all in a fantastic location!

Despite the hotel being almost fully booked, we were offered an upgrade to a larger room which was greatly appreciated. The room was huge with a bath and a shower plus a great range in the complimentary room service fridge.

My only negative comments are that the lifts are very slow and it’s a bit of a scrum when everyone returns at the same time and that some areas are looking little tired - but overall we had a great couple of nights and would definitely look at booking again next time we are in London!

Small issues at every turn. No shampoo in the room. No water in the room let alone snacks or a minibar. Painfully slow check in. Didn’t count the time but I would estimate an hour. 20+ minutes to go up or down the elevators and no stair access from what I could find. Key FOB stopped working which required another trip down and back up the elevator. Breakfast service that felt like of cattle herding. Coffee pitchers all empty and only 1/3 machines working. No sign of active management anywhere.

Not all misses. Bar service was kind and attentive (particularly the manager) and the hotel looked somewhat appealing visually.

Check in was extremely long wait, event with system updating it was 25 30 mins to get your room key. Then even being on 7th floor better to take the stairs than waiting for the lifts that again seem to take forever if you could get one that wasn't full.

Room and hallways looking tired and worn. Chipped paintwork, worn looking carpet etc.
Our room (335) was a fabulous size (executive). Incl breakfast as well as lounge drinks & coffee with evening snacks. But the bathroom became more and more troubling with an unpleasant odour as our week went on. Informed staff at check out. If we were staying longer, we would have moved rooms. It wasn’t noticeable at first. Staff were very positive in their reaction, thanking me for notifying them so that maintenance could attend to the problem.
I wish smokers moved further from the entrance. Every evening on our return, we had to walk through a throng of people outside, smoking. I’ve never seen so many smokers in a hotel. Presumably due to the large number of rooms in the hotel. It takes up an entire block on Oxford St, though the entrance is in the street behind. Great location for visitors to London.
The location of reception was problematic at check-in time. Our taxi double parked to quickly unload our luggage. The street was full of taxis doing likewise. There is one small ramp to convey luggage inside and no room to wait while taking the lift up to reception. Not much they can do about that I suppose.
Due to the layout of the building, many rooms face inwards. See this frequently in hotels, but the view is generally of a courtyard. Not here! First room allocated (an expensive executive room) was on level 2 and looked directly AT the ducting of air con! Yuk! Asked to move. We did.

I was in London for work and loved my stay at the hotel. Check-in was incredible and my room was ready early at 11am which was very much appreciated as it really helped me settle before heading to a meeting.

The room was lovely, just a shame about the view of a wall, however it was very quiet which is what I asked for.

My only notes for improvement would be a slightly firmer pillow (just my own personal preference). Lastly, the scrambled eggs at breakfast were too soft for my liking, I prefer them more well done and breakfast could have been warmer. By the time I got back to my table, most items were cool.

I loved my stay though... the service, early readiness of the room and perfect location made for a wonderful stay. Thank you very much and I will most definitely be back.

The staff was very rude, and short tempered with an attitude when asked for anything. The room layout is not like the photos displayed on the page when booked. The house keeping service was not the best, the rooms were not cleaned properly and utensils and mugs were just rinsed not washed properly with soap as we can see remaining of the grease on the utensils & mugs after the room was cleaned and they were not placed back in their place rather left on the kitchenette sink for us to place back. Towels used and clearly dirty by the kitchen we’re not replaced but rather folded back as if they were new. The toilet was broken and it took maintenance 4 times to fix it throughout our stay. When complained several times they were defensive and making excuses for their staffs actions rather than fixing the issue or apologizing.
This was our second time to stay at the hotel, first time at the beginning of the year and it was a good experience so we brought our whole family to stay again, not sure what happened to the kids quality and service! Would not recommend nor would we stay there again!
