Kitchen setup is awful. They placed the plates in the middle area of food line-up so you pass by food get a plate and then go back to the food. Otherwise kitchen staff get angry. When you go back to food you need to line again behind people who are trying to get paltes.

I've stayed at three other LSE dorms and loved them. This one is just not good. The doors all bang at all hours so it's impossible to sleep. There are no quiet rooms -- one side faces a busy street and the other, a courtyard filled with rubbish skips that are emptied -- loudly -- at all hours. Worst was the laundry. It wouldn't take our cards and there is no way to pay with cash. The staff tried to help but could do nothing. We left for Italy with bags full of dirty clothes. The breakfast is good, but the line to get it, especially on the weekends, is endless. We ended up taking food to our room because we couldn't find a seat. And the room? It was a sauna. We left window open all day but it remained too hot to sleep. Common toilets are always dirty inside and this is NOT the staff's fault. It's just cheap, shoddy design. I guess the builders thought this was good enough for poor students, but it's really not. What kind of place, in this day and age, tells you not to drink the water from the tap in your own room? I feel sorry for students forced to live here. We were glad to get out, though we love London so much!

Very noisy so please be aware of this if you're a light sleeper. It's very basic accommodation which is what you expect for the price. It's very functional if you simply want a place to rest your head without any frills. The breakfast is decent but long queues for drinks as only one machine.

It turns out that there ARE bargains to be had in London!
After a small problem with my room on check-in, resolved by moving me to another (better) room, I found the room and facilities clean and comfortable. They're very basic but for £54 I thought it a fantasic bargain and I'd probably stay again.

Great for London's west end on a budget
The accommodation is extremely good value for a private room in a very central London location. With breakfast included too that makes this well worth considering if you're visiting the West end on a budget. Although not en suite the bathroom facilities are nearby and clean. There is also a kitchen area available on each floor. The rooms are basic and comfortable enough.

I was put in a room on the 3rd floor. As far as I could establish there were 2 bathrooms on the floor. One had an out of order notice on the door. The fittings in the other had all been ripped out. I asked at reception and they told me there was a bathroom in the other wing but as far as I could find there was no other wing. Why was I given a room in that floor at all. The staff had no interest and appeared to be students who had no idea what was going on

I enjoyed my stay and I would use this accommodation again. It's a student halls of residence so it's only available when the students are on vacation. The shared bathrooms took me back - and might be a surprise if you are used to ensuite. But the location, cleanliness and price were all very good.

Friendly staff, easy check in. Rooms are generally clean although we did find toenail clippings and discarded, used, contact lenses. Our twin with ensuite was basic but exactly what we needed for the few hours we spent overnight before catching early train. Beds comfy and great location. Would probably stay again.

The accommodation is basic but clean and quite spacious and even the shared bathrooms look to be maintained well. It felt overly warm in the evening though. Lastly the breakfast is only from 8-10 and it’s a pity it doesn’t start sooner as I had to leave before having it.

There is no AC & it's built for retaining heat, so we had to share a small fan in our 2 person bedroom (although idk how much worse it is in other places in London because AC is not common there). At least there was the fan.

These LSE properties should be the first choice for solo travellers on a budget as their value is second to none. The breakfast is excellent, both in quantity and range of food offered. Locations are really good with central London only a short journey away. Staff are friendly and helpful at all times. By definition student accommodation is fairly basic so don't expect pampering or being waited on - the upside to this is don't expect pompous guests or dreadful parents with dreadful children either! .

Great location. Well priced. Good breakfast. The only downside was the terrible mattress which was so uncomfortable I slept on the floor instead. It was undoubtedly the cheapest mattress they could possibly buy, and the springs were literally popping through the material cover.

I booked a double room, but when we arrived, we found the room extremely small. While there were two beds, one of them seemed to be makeshift, possibly constructed using a desk. This made the entire room feel very cramped. Based on the photos of double rooms in other reviews, it’s clear that this was originally a single room, but you charged it as a double with two beds.
That said, the breakfast was quite nice, and the luggage storage service was convenient, which I appreciated. However, I am very dissatisfied with the room allocation and pricing. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously to avoid disappointing future guests.

Lack of A/C and/or quality opening window meant the room was stuffy as, and when you can’t drink the tap water from the sink it’s a hike to fill a bottle.

Lack of A/C and/or quality opening window meant the room was stuffy as, and when you can’t drink the tap water from the sink it’s a hike to fill a bottle.

I was in room 1.01 for 1 night this week.
Room was immaculately clean. It was as expected - a single bed in a basic room with plenty of power points, a sink, a wardrobe, a chair & desk area.
The breakfast was excellent. It was just like a mound , and I didn't even have everything! The scrambled egg was a bit dry but it was still good.
Area around felt very safe, even returning at 1am from Wembley.
The water from the sink in the bedroom is not drinkable so you have to use a water fountain which is located either on the ground floor or top floor (although I never thought to use the kitchen - the instructions in-room just directed you to the water fountains).
The location of the bathroom is not obvious on leaving the room and not well signposted at all. When you look down the corridors, just look for a doorway with a lip at the bottom, like a step.

Bear in mind the shared toilets are close together stalls with open tops - so you will be very close to whoever is next to you - male or female. Late at night, I had the pleasant experience of having to walk past in a stall with a man who failed to close the door. In the morning, be prepared to have to hold open the door for people walking out the shower in their towel across the corridor to their room. I understand why the facilities are mixed, it would just be nice if at least there were separate ladies loos so you could have a little more privacy. Luggage storage was closed, but was not forewarned and just told at checkout. Staff were otherwise lovely.

I had a blast during my stay, but, truth be told, my sleep wasn't exactly a dream come true. My room on the 4th floor was cozy, but the shared bathroom door had a flair for drama — it slammed shut with a resounding \"BAM\" every time someone used it, keeping me wide awake most of the night. A soft-closing feature would've been a game-changer. But aside from that little hiccup, everything else was top-notch. The location was spot-on, the staff were absolute gems, breakfast was a feast, the bed felt like a cloud, and cleanliness was flawless.
