I stayed in a 4 beds dorm for two nights and I had a group of polite roommates. The staffs in the reception were very polite. This hostel is located not far from Euston station and Oxford circus. Both are walkable. The four-bed dorm has its own bathroom within the dorm which is quite convenient. However, it’s a little bit too warm during summer as no aircon in the building. And there is no locker in the room and no curtain for each bed.

There were three of us and we stayed in a private room with a private bathroom. There were two bunk beds, no TV, you have to rent the towel and no toiletries. There's hardly any space for our luggage. We have to go to the laundry area in the basement to use our hair dryer-- I was told the power plug in our room bathroom can't handle it. This is a hostel so the lack of space and amenities is understandable. It's pretty close to train stations and a Tesco, some restaurants around the area, but we never tried any. The one elevator broke two days before our check-out. Luckily, we were only on the 2nd floor so, not it wasn't a big deal bringing down our luggage using the stairs. This is our first time in a hostel and although the experience isn't bad at all, I will most likely not book another one.

The bathrooms were covered in mold. The shower was either scathing hot or ice cold, nothing in between. Staff was ok but it didn’t seem like any of them had a firm grasp on their job. All the furniture was worn down, my bunk didn’t even have a light our outlet like everyone else’s in the room.

I would of like the option of reserving a top or bottom bunk bed, as one was reserved but I don’t remember be given this option. Additionally I wish I had been made more aware of the ID requirements as there was almost a issue as I forgot my passport and only have my bank card for ID.

Place is clean enough, there is no wifi in the rooms so you must go down to the lobby to connect, not a big deal. Most of the staff was very kind and accommodating. However, on our final night, in the early morning of Thursday 07/11 all the outlets in our room stopped working. A friend and I went downstairs to charge our phones so that we wouldn't miss our flight in the morning. We were rudely told that we couldn't lie down (not to sleep, just for comfort) while we waited for a charge, even after explaining the situation. The two young men and their hostile behavior that night really soured our stay. Their attitude remained cold and indifferent as we packed our things at 3 AM and left, feeling very unwelcome.

This is a great place to stay for a short trip to London. This was my first experience in a hostel and it was pretty good. The staff are really great and provide a lot of information about the area! There's also a free walking tour that starts at the building every morning. I stayed in a 4 bunk room with an attached bathroom and it was great for what it was. Honestly, it felt like I was back in a college dorm room, which is not a bad thing. They provide lockers to keep your stuff safe when you're out and about and I was able to fit my backback and carry-on sized luggage inside. They also have a separate room for storing larger luggage and a full size kitchen/lounge area. They do not provide padlocks, but they are available for purchase at the front desk if you forget to bring one like i did. It's also within walking distance to a tube station and within walking distance to the British Museum (highly highly recommend if you care anything about history) and SoHo. I would definitely consider staying here again, but probably not longer than a few days as I like my personal space. Overall, it was a good experience and if you like packing light and don't mind just the bare necessities it's a perfect place to stay.

It was close to the Great Portland Street Tube Station and the rooms were very good. The hot water boiler was broken during my stay so I did not have any hot water in my room. The elevator also occasionally broke during my stay. However this was not a big problem as I could use the stairs.

It was basic but very clean, the beds were comfortable, the staff were very helpful and the location great, a few hundred yards from Great Portland Street underground. The hostel is a 8min walk to Oxford street, and it's pretty close to several underground lines. Staffs are friendly and helpful, feel free to ask! The only problem is the amount of toilets and shower room. For example, in second floor, there are two toilets and two shower rooms in total for around 30 visitors (when its fully booked), and that may lead to you to wait. Not a major issue, but I think that should be improved. All in all, I had a pleasant stay at YHA, cheers.

I stayed here for a few nights each week over August and September as I needed to be in London for work and wanted somewhere cheap but comfortable to stay. This place ticks all the boxes.

Fully equipped kitchen for guests, fridge is kept clean and sorted often - this cannot be understated! I have some of the worst memories oh hostels with foul-smelling fridges full of mouldy food :( There is also a nice big area in the reception to sit and work/chat/relax with a bar for food and drinks if you don't want to cook.
Location is also faultless, in between major tube stations (Oxford Circus, Warren Street and Goodge Street) next door to a small supermarket and plenty of places to eat out close by. For me, it was only a short distance walk to my university (UCL), which is a nice place to see too as it's 19th century architecture and the old war-time hospital; for tourists you are in the heart of Fitzrovia which is a lovely place to wander around, as well as walking distance to major attractions such as Oxford Street, British Museum, British Library etc.
This is already my 4th or 5th stay! 100% recommend and would definitely use again if visiting for leisure too.

Wifi was pretty consistent and facilities were clean and well kept. The highlight of our stay was the friends we made along the way. Would certainly recommend YHA to others (:

Cheap but still pleasant
I booked this hostel for one night as I was attending a show near Leicester Square. It was easy to find (although a little bit of a walk from tube stations) and check in was easy. When I entered my room I discovered my bed was the only one that didn't have a charging port, which when you are travelling is pretty essential. I went back and queried this - the hostel, despite being full, were quick to move me to another room, which was actually better than my first. Apart from the fan being slightly broken so it was very noisy (why is aircon not a standard thing yet) I had no issues. I might choose a more central YHA next time, but I enjoyed my stay.

The hostel itself is modern and comfortable, there is an area to relax downstairs and a cafe/bar and sofas etc which are nice. I needed to work while I was there and there were plenty of places to plug in devices. The wifi wasn't working on my first night and the staff were super helpful in trying to resolve this. Unfortunately we couldn't but it was working on my second day so it must have been an external problem with the internet provider.
Room was fine and each bunk has an individual light switch. The place was so clean, it was cleaned everyday and the facilities were modern too, and a big kitchen with all utensils etc.
