Great location. Bed was extremely comfortable. Hotel is dated though and needs refurbishment. Lifts take a long time to turn up. The check in desk was easily overwhelmed and the setup was unprofessional looking. Would consider staying again though.

Check in was much quicker than the previous time I stayed and I was given an upgrade, which has never happen here before. However, when I checked out, and wanted to leave my bag, they now charge £10 per item to leave it. Bit much just to leave your bag for a few hours. Bad move St Giles!

The only good thing about this hotel is that it was clean and conveniently located.
The website made it look as though it was going to be a luxurious stay, it was not! I would not have liked to stay here alone, as there was a large gap under the door, no lock on the bathroom door and no phone in the room. Very, very noisy. There was no kettle, no spare towels or pillows. The shower set of the fire alarm and were then told off for smoking in the room by the staff… when we had not at all been smoking. So next showers included keeping bathroom door open, window open and trying to make sure the shower was not too hot. Which could be awkward depending on who you are traveling with.

The lobby was very strange. The impression I got from the website was not met when the reception is a table with boxes propping up laptops. I have never had to queue for a hotel lift before, especially when there are 4 of them. But we had to give up waiting for them to come after a while and attempt to find the stairs, which was another challenge.
We did not use the cafes or restaurants just because the vibe in the rest of the hotel was a bit odd. I think some redecoration or something to at least make it feel more like the website would help.

Good location. My bed was incredibly hard and uncomfortable which meant that I didn’t sleep very well at all for two nights. The shower head was broken making showering not good but apart from those two things, I was really pleased with the hotel.

Brilliant location right beside Tottenham Court Road station! Was a bit disappointed that we had to pay £10 each to have our bags stored until check-in or £20 for early check in. The bed wasn’t very comfortable pretty hard in fact! No coffee making facilities in the room either. Bathroom was clean but the water took forever to warm up. Didn’t have many interactions with staff so can’t comment on that. All in all the location made up for the down points of the hotel and I had a great time in London

Our hotel room was clean and comfortable. However, I would not recommend the urban rooms as they do not contain tea or coffee making facilities or a mini fridge. I think they should make it clear what facilities are not present in the various room options.

The hotel is now just budget. No tea or coffee in room. Only one small towel in bathroom, single guest but washed hair needs another towel.
Very curt check in, lifts not working properly.

Paid 20% more to have bigger room but ended up with room smaller than our friends who did not upgrade.
Location is very convenient
however, the lift needs to be improved. it's one button to press for going up and down. so it's a long wait for lift (and lift is usually full if u are in the middle levels)

The room is clean. But the shower was not working well that I needed to hold the button to ensure the shower water coming from the top. It’s charged 10 ponds for a piece of suitcase storage. There was no kettle in the room. You have to request one when you need it. The staff said that it caused more work for them under this arrangement.

Don't be deceived by the pictures, the rooms are not updated, and in a period of building work everywhere (and it happens before 9am!). You don't get any hand towels, and no tea/coffee facilities. there are three restaurants, but also plenty around. No-one tells you the luggage storage costs £10 an item.

No tea and coffee facilities any more but I would have still paid for these when I booked before the hotel changed companies. Had to ask for the shower and toilet to be plunged. There was a water machine right outside the room which was extremely noisy. I had to put a blanket at the base of the door to block out the very bright light from the corridor. Should not be charging £10 to put bags in so therefore had to pay for early check-in anyway.

Rooms small. Main issue is the walls are too thin, you can hear conversations being held inside rooms across from your room. So don’t expect to get a good nights rest.

We had an extremely unpleasant experience with the concierge.

Not only did we have to pay £10 to leave our luggage at the hotel (which is already quite frustrating), but the concierge was also very rude and accused us of trying to “cheat” by paying for only one bag when we had two to store. As a result, I was forced to pay three times for two pieces of luggage. The next day, when I checked my bank account and was able to prove that I had overpaid, the concierge did not even apologize.

Even worse, he questioned the new payment I made for one piece of luggage, despite the fact that I had already overpaid the first time. I felt deeply disrespected by this interaction and by being doubted twice.

Although everything else about the hotel was excellent, this experience was so disappointing that I will not return and will not recommend your hotel. There are more expensive options in the area, and that is where my family and I have booked for our trip this summer. I travel to London very often and have never been treated so poorly by a concierge.

Frankly, charging separately for luggage storage feels like a poor commercial decision. It would be much better to include this service in the room rate. Having to deal with unexpected add-on charges while on vacation is frustrating and unnecessary — it’s the last thing guests want to worry about.

I sincerely hope you will address this matter.

I've stayed here a couple of years ago and it was great. This time it was terrible. Most of the staff didn't have any level of interest in their jobs. I emailed over a month before I arrived and was told we would get two rooms next to each other for our family of 4. When we checked in they checked us into 2 different floors. It wasn't until I produced an email from them confirming what we had arranged that they moved us to the same floor (but not next to each other). The worst part was the lack of towels! 3 of the 5 nights we stayed here there were no towels left in our room. We had to go down to reception to ask for these every evening in a long line of guests doing the same thing! I've never seen anything like it. This was happening not all guests not just us! Google and Trip advisor reviews show this has been happening for atleast the past few weeks. It was an absolute mess! Would not stay here again which is a shame as it is in a perfect location.

The room is small but you can tell that from the listing. The sheets were washed but some weird gross gunk was baked into them. The housekeepers definitely saw this but just made the bed with the gross sheets anyway. The bathroom had no towels so we called the front desk to get some. The front desk never answered their phone so after several attempts to reach them we had to go down the elevator to talk to them in person. The shower wouldn’t drain, it was clogged. So we had to take very short showers so we didn’t overflow the water onto the bathroom floor. The worst part was when we tried to check our bags so that we could explore the city. That’s when we found out they charge £10 per bag to check them. So they took advantage of us and charged us £40 to check our 4 bags. There are tens of thousands of hotels around the world that do not charge for this. Predatory pricing and garbage quality.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Upon arrival I had no towels in my room, after requesting one I was told they have no towels. They would not be getting any until that evening. I then had to go and ask for one again and saw many other guests doing the same.There was only one roll of toilet paper, once that was gone I called the front desk to ask for more. 2 hours later and nothing, I called reception again and there was no answer. I went down to reception and the very rude lady said they had 700 rooms and guests only get one roll. The room itself was in disrepair, the bathroom door was peeling all the way down from water damage, marks and chips out of all of the walls, huge black stain all down the side of the bath, a tv that did not work correctly, the mattresses had no fitted sheets and only a flat sheet covering them, incredibly lumpy and old pillows, and very uncomfortable beds. Horrible stay from start to finish.

The \"executive\" room was small, with small windows, the facilities were lacking - no hairdryer, 2 towels only (for 2 people), etc. They even charged a considerable sum to keep our luggage for 2 hours. The only reason for the 3 stars: value for location.

Room was very neglected, carpet didn't reach the wall, flickering lights, little to no plug sockets, not even a third of a toilet roll, bathroom door splintered and falling apart, no tea and coffee making facilities and an awful smell. The lobby is lovely but that's as far as it goes. Good location but stayed in far superior places in similar location and price bracket. Would not recommend at all.

The room was fine for a one night stay, but we had to ask to get towels for a shower as there were only hand towels in the room, and there were no tea or coffee facilities in the room - something that the hotel had provided previously, which was therefore a little disappointing. The room was clean and the bed reasonably comfortable, and it is in a good location, so was good for what we wanted it for.

Upon arrival we had to pay £10 per case to leave our luggage which I find unacceptable.

The room was much more basic than expected, only 1 spare pillow for a double bed, towels were very thin, no hand towel, heating was a heater in the wall under the curtains so all the heat escaped.

We complained about the hygiene at breakfast with the receptionist. They have emailed the head office but we have had no correspondence as yet. The food was mediocre and the staff we rude and standoffish.

Location is great to get around London. Hotel rooms are currently being refurbished. We did not get a refurbished room. The walls needed painted (marks all over them), beds and pillows lumpy and marks (stains) on the mattress. The hairdryer didn't work. Called reception and after 20 mins of no replacement i had to flag down a cleaner to get me another one. No tea/coffee tray or kettle in the room. We did see another guest in the life carrying one to another room. This hotel could be so much more and maybe worth staying in if you get a refurbished room.

Since our last stay in November 2025 which was fine. I wish we never booked this time and feel we should have had the option of a refund when it change ownership.
The room was disgusting, no kettle, no usb port, stains on the bedding, mold on the ceiling, rust on the radiator, the heater was tipping over due to a wheel missing …. The list could go on ….. then to be asked to pay £20 to leave a small backpack and mini case for a few hours, when last time this was free.
Asked to speak to a manager and got told to send an email!! And have still not received a reply …. Speaks for itself!
This hotel should be removed from your site!

Where to begin? I’ve stayed at this hotel a great many times over the last 7/8 years. Its most attractive qualities were always location - its extremely central - and price, which was always reasonable. I have watched the standard go down and down on so may fronts and after this stay I will no longer be back.

Mouldy curtains in the room, no tea and coffee, charging £10 per-bag *pre-check in* and staff who so obviously hate their jobs that they’re utterly uninterested in anything resembling customer service. I hesitate to say it but it has become a dump. This hotel was never glitzy but you paid for what you got, which was a basic, clean hotel that’s a decent price. Now it is overpriced for the product and service received. In addition, if you reserve to pay on arrival they insist on adding breakfast to your booking - something that’s about clawing more money. The breakfast is like slop.

I regret having to leave this review but the new management has not improved things - despite some rooms being more modern or furnished. I will not be back.

To be charged £10 to leave a case for two hours
And then leaving to be charged £10 leave case until the train late afternoon
We had paid for upgrades and was given a small twin
Never stayed in such a small room.
When I checked my bank when I got home, they had charge me £80 altogether to leave my cases
We use the restaurant before we left. Our bill was £60 and then we was charged £10 service charge.

We have stayed at the St Giles many times over at least 15 years, but the rooms have become very tired over that time. It has recently changed hands, first indications of change are the bar closing at 12.30, not a problem, and the previously free luggage storage now costing £10 per item. This was a complete shock. We didn't pay it, had we known in advance we might have shared on case instead of one each, but it still seems a very unpleasant charge.

Room was cleaned well daily although a few hairs were on bed linen which was no issue. The air conditioning units work fine however they feel quite dated and don’t offer much in the way of cooling the room.

I did have to ask for extra pillows due to the lack of support from those offered in the room. The mattress was also extremely hard which may be an issue for some. Staff were very helpful and responsive when asking for extra pillows.

The size of the room was very small with then en-suite feeling tiny, for my partner and I it was quite a squeeze! The room also lacked sockets by the bed, although they had USB-A ports by either side, our devices use USB-C so we were unable to use these.

Unable to comment on breakfast as neither of us had this.

The location is perfectly central and right next door to the Dominion Theatre which was great for us! The British Museum was only a 10-min walk away, TCR tube station was also a 4-min walk too.

We were allocated room127 which was close to the lifts. One lift in particular screeched as it approach the first floor which awakened us several times. It stated online breakfast was 6.30-11.00. We arrived at the dining room at 10.15 to be told the area was closed and the buffet breakfast was being being removed. The staff were pleasant and the location was ideal for the theatre . We have stayed at St Giles several times before and never had an issue ,so hopefully this is part of the refurbishment plans and will change by our next visit.
