We booked this hotel due to the proximity to the theatre we were attending. The hotel is above a pub, on a busy highstreet, so is very noisy. Room was clean, but tiny. We booked a queen room, hoping for a bit of a bigger room, but it wasn't. One side of the bed was squashed up against the window (we paid extra to have a room with a window) and the end of the bed was against the bathroom wall, so it was extremely cramped.
Although it is close to a lot of theatres (as you walk out the door you literally walk into the theatre showing Harry Potter) the room was very claustrophobic and expensive, so not sure I'd stay again.

My stay at Z Hotel Soho was absolutely incredible — truly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
To my surprise and delight, instead of the Queen room I had booked, the reception team upgraded me to a private three-storey townhouse. I literally lived like a king — spacious, stylish, and completely my own. An unforgettable touch that made the stay extra special.
The hotel features a wonderful 24-hour bar, perfect for relaxing at any time of day or night. The location is simply unbeatable — right in the heart of London. Musicals, museums, major attractions — everything is within walking distance.
The staff were outstanding: warm, friendly, always smiling, and genuinely eager to help. Their hospitality made the experience even more enjoyable.
This hotel is truly exceptional. I will absolutely be coming back.
Thank you to the entire team for such a memorable stay!

What's not to like!
The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Location was excellent.
I booked a single room which was on the cosy side but was well set up. The bed was very comfy.
It was a birthday treat and there were balloons, a birthday card and towel swan display on my bed which was very lovely of them to do.
I did have an issue with the shower, which was faulty. But having mentioned it to reception, the Maintenance team soon responded and sorted it on the same day. Would recommend Z Hotels and will book again. Thank you ♥️

The room was small but very comfortable for a solo traveler. It was ideal. The room was clean. They offer fresh water everyday to encourage visitors to not use plastic water bottles. I had a great stay. The hotel isn't an ideal location. But like I said the rooms are small.

It was in a perfect location, good price, convenient to the tube and busses! Only problem stay out of rm 125. I was alerted by knocking at the door that the fire alarm went off from the sream from the shower!

WiFi did not work all the time I was there.
The cooling fans outside my window kept me awake all night.
There were pigeons flying in and out of the connecting passage to my room.
The only window, in the bathroom, had been broken and had been repaired with tape.
I would never stay again and do not recommend.

The room stinks, literally!

This has to be one of the worst hotel stays I ever had. The room was small, which was expected. However, it also had incredibly low ceiling, in the shower had this terrible aroma which made the whole room stink. The bathroom is separated from the room with glass, so even when you shower for example, the whole room fogs up. About.

The bed was extremely uncomfortable. I lifted the sheets and noticed that the mattress is yellowish.

I notified the front desk about the aroma and they sent someone with a drain solution. It didn’t help..

The staff was friendly, and the location was great, but I can’t recommend this hotel. You have other options at this price range.

The single room was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. The check in process was slow and lobby was crowded. You'll be paying for the location. If you become a member (which is free) you get a complimentary wine and cheese plate. 10 min walk from Piccadilly line.

The bed was hard, the room didn't go dark, the bedside lamb didn't work, the shower didn't really get hot, there was a draft right at the head of the bed (I turned the heating up and was still cold), the rooms were noisy from the commotion outside

In first room the toilet would not flush. The entire bathroom floor flooded after taking a shower as there is no shower curtain or partition or curb to block the water from going into the tiny bathroom. We were able to change rooms the following day. Both rooms were tiny and not meant for 2 people, especially for a week long stay. On a good note the shower was excellent in the second room.

Unfortunately the room was tiny, more like a train cabin than a room. This is not unexpected for London, however this really was exceptionally small. The room was extremely noisy you could hear everything in accompanying rooms, outdoors and the hallways. The shower head was broken - only a hose was left to shower with. There was no hot water the night before, however it was hot in the morning. The window latch was also broken. The entire place could do with an update and a lot of repairs are needed.
On a good note, the bed linen was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was excellent.

I’m used to budget hotels and I knew these rooms were small so I knew what to expect, but I had booked a room with a window as I get quite claustrophobic and the window in my room was tiny. I had actually booked this hotel because it was August, I was only staying one night and the rooms there have aircon so I wanted to be comfortable but during my stay the aircon wasn’t working, they did supply a fan but it was just blowing warm air around the room and I couldn’t open my tiny window as it opened onto the smoking area. The staff at the hotel were really friendly, the location was great and if you’re after a budget hotel in the centre of everything and know what to expect then you’ll be fine but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Awful. The room was dirty and had an unpleasant smell. The water bottle was open and half empty. The bathroom was really small and the door didn't work properly. Also something wrong with the heating system as it was boiling. It also took 3 staff members to check me in.

Staff welcoming always hospitable, I’ve now stayed at the convent garden , and today soho where Assan was awesome ! Made me an amazing Cappuccino also which is hard to do for me being a kind of passionate love of cappuccinos. Rooms clean and immaculate. Quirky at the soho but I’m told it’s old.

Negatives tiny doubles do two people nope get an apartment if you at soho. My room literally like the M25 at late night foot traffic’ above me and mornings at 6.45aam so I guess if you not on the top floor that’s somthing hon may want to note.

Overall I would recommend for the solo traveler. For location and convenience can’t get better fro budget stays

Great hotel, smaller room but had everything I needed for a solo stay. I also knew I was booking and getting a smaller room so I was not at all disappointed. The hotel was clean and close to everything you would need. The staff were great and always welcoming.
The only downside is the fire alarm would go off when I used the shower, even with the window open.

Clean room , easy check in , very comfortable , bed only accessible from one side so was a little bit of a problem but managed ok ! Next time will ask for a different room ! We wanted some windows so maybe that was the sacrifice 🙏❤️
Staff very helpful , breakfast was a bit sparse when we arrived but everything was replenished when we asked ! Coffee was very good ! All round very happy with our Experience and so will defo stay again ! Thank you

I usually don't leave bad reviews, but this hotel deserves a minus 10. It's an expensive hotel, yet the room was extremely small - it felt like a jail cell with no air or oxygen. There was constant noise from the street, and I never received proper cleaning service. One day I came back tired from a meeting and fell asleep, and they knocked on my door around 3 PM asking if I wanted cleaning. In any decent hotel, room cleaning should happen

between 9 AM and 11 AM.

We paid a very fair price for a very quick stay as we literally needed a place to sleep and jet off in the AM. I have to tell you though, this hotel room was disgusting, to be frank. The bathroom had no separation from the shower and soaked the entire floor, toilet and sink which had to be dried by us; I can appreciate efficiency but we found this to be unsanitary and just gross. In hindsight, it would have been worth another $100 to stay in another small place.

Perfect for exploring Soho and nearby areas. Leicester Square Tube station only two minutes walk away as well. Room was even smaller than expected, although I wasn’t in it for much of my stay so not a huge issue, but certainly one which would mean I’d never recommend staying here for more than two nights. Staff great and very helpful.

this hotel was great value for its location, and although from the outside it looks a bit average, once inside it is a really interesting place, with open bars and I think a roof top terrace.
However, the room was very compact, no windows, and a wet room which soaked the bedroom floor, sink was impossible to wash or shave in, but the shower was good, so it was a mixed stay, would I stay again, yes because the location and value for money is superb!

Fantastic stay. A little noisy until quite late on a Sunday but not the hotel’s fault, the pub opposite had entertainment on until 11:30. Breakfast options were limited to flatbreads and continental despite seeing menus for full English dotted around the hotel.

Terrible room... absolutely tiny.. Had to climb over my partner to use the bathroom... The Bathroom is a squared off glass box that offers no privacy for using the bathroom or showering.. The shower soaks the whole floor. The floor of the bathroom is rotten and uneven... rooms are only made up every other day and when I asked for fresh towels (all original towels were soaked) they didnt show up

Good friendly check-in, we were able to drop our bags off before the 3pm check-in. The room (with added window) was very small, particularly as the large television - which seemed unnecessary - meant that it was very difficult to get in and out of the bed which was pushed right up against the wall. The shower was good but very small so not easy to dry off in the shower area. You would want to be intimate to stay in this room with it's frosted panel not quite hiding the toilet! However, we accept that it is in a fabulously convenient location so the drawbacks didn't detract. We had breakfast in the cafe and it was excellent .

Superb hotel, highly recommended

The hotel was lovely. The room was small, but well appointed and had everything we needed, including working AC, which was needed after a hot day in London. It was in the heart of the theatre district, with the Harry Potter show literally a hop, skip & a jump from the hotel front door! We were seeing Stranger Things, which was a 5 minute walk from the hotel (an excellent show!).

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious (we had pizzas for dinner and they were very tasty!). Under 12s eat breakfast for free (with a paying adult).

I will definitely stay here again as it was positioned perfectly for Leicester Square, China Town, the theatre district and for shopping down Oxford and Regent Streets (a taxi from Waterloo to the hotel was roughly £19).

The location was excellent, close to many tube lines. My only complaint was the room was so tiny that it was claustrophobic. I could barely walk to the bathroom from my bed as my suitcase was on the floor. It was hard to be in the space without wanting to get out as soon as possible. The AC was freezing and I couldn't lower it.

This was a terrible hotel and not as advertised. Soundproofing was non-existent. The mattress was a hard mat. I had to walk outside to go up a small staircase to my room where I tripped and bruised my knee. If I that been raining it would’ve been a real liability. The staff were friendly tried to help but the property itself was a mess and they know it.

The room first of all was quite small, but was nice and clean.
However, there was no AC or window so my room was 30 degrees making it a very unpleasant stay.
All I had was 2 fans pushing air around to keep me cool.
During the night there was also constant trains (I assume from the tube) which would shake the room and be very loud.
Would not recommend.
