Very centrally located hotel to access many areas of London. Very clean and modern . Had a couple of issues
When we checked in we gave our name and the lady said “‘a double room?” I said yes as I assumed that’s what I’d booked but decided I’d check . Turns out I’d booked a junior suite. Why they didn’t know this from my booking I don’t know. I wasn’t sure if they were hoping I wouldn’t check.
Our room had a horrible smell . Very damp like rotting veg. When we came back at near midnight we decided to call a member of staff as we weren’t sure if we’d smell it all night . The gentleman came and agreed there was a smell and moved us immediately. We were moved to a double room with no offer of a refund for the extra we’d paid for a junior suites.

The breakfast was great big selection of both hot or continental options and the staff in the restaurant were brilliant. Hotel is in a great central location for everything. Enjoyed our stay and will choose this hotel to stay in again

The room was wonderful and in a great location. Close to 3 underground stations and walking distance to many restaurants and pubs. The room has soundproof windows so it was quiet. The bathroom even has a towel warmer! Staff was friendly and helpful. The problem was the WiFi and television service kept going out. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Had requested quiet room in upper floor but was put in first floor near fire exit and staff access door so was noisy with banging doors .
Pillows were hard and high which was un comfy on my neck and posture.
Sound proofing was shocking could hear people talking and vehicles in the street.
No phone in room to call reception and when I had to go to reception to ask for extra duvet in morning the receptionist said yes we will do ( but nothing happened) and couldn’t chase them as no phone in room.
Any Expedia member VIP privileges were not offered either but the receptionist did apologise when checking out and said she hadn’t seen this status.

Really annoyed, half the building was being refurbished. We got out the lift on the 4th floor to a building site. Reception didn't tell us not to get out on our floor. Only 1 lift working. Fire alarm went off numerous times in the night. Alarms going off everywhere, couldn't use the lift. Couldn't get down the lift, couldn't get down the stairs - second floor was being refurbished and wthe stairs were blocked. No manager, no staff, no instruction, just fire alarm going of constantly. Made even worse we had to be up early for a race the next day - no sleep, no apology

Room was spotless, bathroom however beeds updating as the tiles were not so good. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Staff were very attentive.
However our room was very cold as the heating was nog working and we were given a plug in heater that was not big enough for the size of the room. We were given a discount but only gor one night.....we were cold for both nights...disappointing.

The room was very spacious and the staff were very helpful in answering all of our questions and keeping our bags safe. The hotel is in a fantastic location with the British Museum a two minute walk away and lots of food and drink options in nearby Covent Garden. The room was nice and quiet considering the central location and there were great supplies of toiletries and refreshments.

Unfortunately the hotel couldn’t offer us the family deluxe room we had booked and paid for. They offered us 2 standard rooms which forced me and my wife to sleep apart to accompany our 13yr old son. We received a ‘sorry’ at reception and when complaining to the manager (who never spoke to us), they offered us 20% discount on our room, which we accepted.
Room was clean, staff at breakfast were nice and ideal location to explore central London.

We booked a premium room because it was advertised as being larger than standard. It should have been 20 m square. It was approx 12 m square. Easily the smallest hotel room I have ever been in.
I pre authorised £100 on my credit card. When I checked out the receptionist did not give me a bill and said they had a problem with one breakfast charge and would send an invoice to confirm the amount to be charged. I never received an invoice or any communication but later found out they had taken £129 from my card without my knowldge.

This hotel was not good value for the money. Reception failed to send anyone to help adjust the heating system it was uncomfortably hot, the AC wouldn’t work even after 3 phone calls there was no support! I paid over £500 for two deluxe rooms for one night. Neither were deluxe there was no fridge in the room so complimentary water was warm, the tissue box holder fell from the wall as soon as I took one tissue. My brothers room was too cold!! the rooms are not large as described and are extremely claustrophobic. The staff were nice people they offered me 20% back for there lack of support to fix the heating I’ll see if they do, breakfast was better but overall I would not stay here again.

We stayed for three nights booked a deluxe room and got downgraded on first night…no compensation whatsoever. My VIP status meant nothing to the property. The first nights room was pathetic run down and extremely disjointed and very small. We got a different room for the next two nights which was adequate in size but the property is very tired and the rooms are in need of a much needed renovation. I stayed there two and half years ago but will go somewhere else next time as I will be travelling to London twice a year for the next few years.

The room has not been renovated in a while. The lock broke off the door frame. The maid didn’t clean our room the day before check out so we had no clean towels. The shower was only rain shower head (not great for the ladies) and the shower door only covered half the bathtub so water went all over the floor.
The location was convenient but a very noisy area (obviously not the hotels fault). The hair dryer provided didn’t work but the hotel sent a great replacement very quickly.

Close to subway stations, clean rooms, AMAZING bed and shower - wish I could take them home. The STAFF WERE THE BEST PART, when I say they care, they helped us find food for every meal, and even helped us fight our TFL ticket issue to make sure we had a pleasant experience of London. We booked this hotel specifically for the location, as it was near our areas of interest. We were able to walk easily to the theater, and to the British museum. We found varied dining options and shops easily within walking distance as well. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and well-stocked, and we were able to have our coffee in the room together every morning. (VERY important to Americans!)

I can honestly say that for the price, this is one of the worst hotel rooms I have stayed in. The bathroom was in an awful state with holes in the walls, terrible attempts at maintenance in the tiles and mirrors hanging off the walls. The ‘deluxe room’ was tiny with barely any floor space around the bed, no desk space and a tiny wardrobe. The carpet in the hallways were dirty and had holes in several places.
I travel regularly for work and a premier inn plus room is far more ‘luxurious’ at a third of the price

All of the reception staff (4 in total) that we met were absolutely useless, uninterested and incapable of providing assistance. They didn’t smile once, or even say hello. They didn’t care that we were unhappy with our room when flagged and took ages just to complete basic tasks.

The room we were given wasn’t anything like the “premium” room in the pictures. Despite asking about this after checking in, nothing was done to fix it. They blamed Expedia.

The air-con in the room was loud, the shower drain was blocked and the only thing provided was two cans of water. There was a fridge but it was empty and there was a TV that didn’t work.

When we complained again at checkout, the receptionist just offered me the hotel manager’s business card and said he’d make our next stay better. Given our experience, we will not be staying again.

This hotel looks good in the pictures, mainly due to the nice frontage of the building, but it’s extremely underwhelming inside and no better than the lowest budget hotel you can find.

Good stay except for initial room with broken AC

We booked a deluxe room for over $600/night. The initial room they gave us was on the first floor and had a broken central air unit. Instead, there was a portable air conditioning unit in the room. The hot air outlet hose of the portable AC unit was not connected to the outside window nor was the outlet hose frame the right size for the outside window. A manager told my wife to put the frame in the window when I was at the front desk. I went to the front desk and they said they have \"other deluxe rooms available\". The nice agent moved us to a 3rd floor room where the central AC worked and everything else was fine. Why give us a bad room when there were others available? Did they expect us to blow the hot air into the room? This cost us 30+ minutes of our time, no offer to comp anything, etc.

Great location, the gym is solid, the hotel is very well serviced. The dining options are very good - the breakfast buffet is what we enjoyed, and it was excellent.

We did have some hiccups. I had prepaid for our rooms which were not immediately available when I arrived at the appointed check-in time. There was also a gaff with breakfast - I had paid to have it included, and my children were turned away b/c somehow the dining room wasn't in sync with the front desk. The folks were apologetic and worked in earnest to make up for the gaffs.

Would definitely recommend, especially for families (they do offer adjoining rooms). Will def stay there again when we next come to London.

This is a very nice hotel in a very convenient area, handy for shopping, transport & minutes away from The British Museum. The only thing I would disagree with is their room descriptions which I think are a bit misleading. We booked a deluxe room, which was perfectly fine & comfortable, but was not what I would consider to be deluxe.

Once moved to a better room with real AC then it was a bit better although it wasn’t the best at cooling. The room before only had one little chair and table and no room to put two suitcases.
Stairs couldn’t be used and there was only one ‘not very fast’ elevator. Bath slip mat was moldy, faucet was very wobbly. At least there was a king size bed.

The room was advised as fully refurbished with the exception of the bathroom. The room was a premier room but very small due to the portable air con unit in the room due to the air con problems however no other room was available. The bathroom towel radiator being on full alley time did not help with the heat. The lighting in the room was faulty and when trying to use it we felt we were in a disco. The wardrobe light would not go out at all. In addition the wardrobe had to be emptied from the ironing board and two dressing gowns so we could put our clothes in it. The room was clean, the staff apologised and were clearly aware of the room issues however it would have been better to put a note in the website advising of refurbishment taking place as I may not have booked the hotel. The only saving grace is the amazing restaurant and the hotel staff.

Overall, a bit of a shoddy experience. The pictures don't match the room type - ordered a premium room and got matched with a standard but the reception staff - one gentleman in particular was very accommodating. He did compensate for the issues that we faced however we saw two rooms and both were not very clean. The location is, of course, great but I wouldn't stay here again. Thank you.

The lobby is pleasant and inviting. The rooms are decent sized for this part of London. We arrived very early in the morning and no rooms were available for early check-in, but the staff offered complementary breakfast, an ample and well-chosen buffet. We experienced some serious construction noise above us toward the end of our stay. It would have been nice to be forewarned, but it was a relatively minor inconvenience.

Hotel is in good condition and in the heart of Bloomsbury right off Oxford St. But two issues: some construction there so noise during the day and only one elevator worked, plus main stairs was blocked for construction. Also, we got a Deluxe room, but it had no table or chairs so had to eat or drink tea on bed. From pics on site, appeared to be a Standard room
