I stayed at the Morgan as a solo traveller needing a small space with a bed and private bathroom. The Morgan was clean and comfortable, the space was small but well laid out. The daily breakfast was an exceptional value and very well cooked to order.

Definitely recommend for a budget friendly no frills stay. If you are particular about the brand of body wash / shampoo you use do bring your own.

The location of the hotel is fantastic with central London all in walking distance. We had an apartment room which suited us perfectly for the week. The kitchenette was a great asset. The hotel was lovely and clean and the staff were always very responsive to our needs. I would recommend this hotel.

Single room with plenty of amenities- kettle, fridge, table top ironing board and iron, hairdryer and room safe. Location is great for Oxford and Regent streets and several theatres. Breakfast was lovely - cereal, fruit and yoghurt options plus you can order toast and full English ( or parts of it - I had poached eggs on toast). Room was over heated and radiators wouldn't turn off but a call to Reception resulted in maintenance arriving in 10 mins and fixing the issue. Bathroom has a sloping ceiling so take care by the sink if tall but the shower itself was great. Bed was comfortable but narrow. Armchair and TV in the room so there's somewhere comfy to sit if you spend any evenings in

We stayed in the one bedroom apartment on the ground floor.
Pros- The room was a great size and the location was great! The breakfast was a full English breakfast and delicious. The staff were wonderful and so helpful.

Cons- The decor in the room was very worn and tired. The dusty old fake flowers and curtains and dirty chairs need to go. The carpet and bathroom flooring needs replacing, as does the corroded, rusty bathroom faucet.

The room does have lovely English charm and with some needed updates and cleaning, it would be so lovely.

The ladies were lovely and breakfast was always great. The room though had cracked windows and the shower had some major black mold in the grout. Despite that the ladies did a great job tidying up our rooms and were always friendly. I can tell they work hard so 5 stars for them 3 for the room.

The location is great: 5-minute walk to the British Museum and 10-20 minute walk to shows and restaurants.

Farouk was great as well as cleaners and breakfast staff. Breakfast was hefty and tasty.

Cons:
The room was a dump. Although cleaned every day, it still felt dirty. The floor and maybe the entire building was sloping and felt unsafe walking around in it, especially on the steep spiral staircase. We're elderly and got the highest floor. I asked for a different room, but was offered one in a separate building which meant going every morning to Morgan Hotel for breakfast. This would have been very inconvenient. So, I declined.

The soap/shampoo/conditioner stunk. The shower door was hard to open and close.

The other concierge was very rude.

Great location! Room small but clean. Service staff good. Breakfast could use some help starting with the coffee. Breakfast menu did not vary at all. We stayed a week and actually ate out breakfast after the first 2 days so we could get good coffee and some sweet rolls etc.

Was noisy at night as outer window would not close and we were next to major street and a stop light. Would have been nicer to ne in back side of hotel away from the street as we'd requested.

Amazing location. Be aware that there are stairs so that you will need to carry your luggage up/down these. My single room (apartment) backed onto the British Museum and had a back door leading out into a little garden area that I shared with the room next door. I was upgraded to an apartment as I was staying 5 nights and this was a beautifully quiet place. It is very narrow but has everything you need for an inner London stay (albeit a little tired). Breakfast was full English - eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomato, baked beans with toast (plus cereal, yoghurt, fruit) and plunger coffee. You could choose to leave out items to mix it up if you wish - eggs served anyway you wanted. The reception and breakfast was a few doors down the road from the apartments. You cannot see the TV from the bed but there is an armchair for viewing. Being very small, there is no place to have your suitcase open and being long and narrow, you needed the light on. I LOVED this place for location, and I LOVED my little back garden. It is so handy to so many iconic London areas. I have no idea what the original single room that I booked might have been like, but I am very grateful that I was put into the apartment instead. I would recommend this place (if you don't mind some run-down areas) for the incredible location.

The hotel has a slightly odd setup but all and all I thought it was a fine hotel. It was clean, breakfast was included and the beds were comfortable. My biggest issue was the shower head was mounted so high on the wall it wasn't usable but that was a minor inconvenience.

This was a fabulous place to say. We had a one bedroom apartment on the ground floor and everything was absolutely fantastic. We had a bedroom each and just so much space and so much furniture, as well as an outdoor terrace, kitchenette and big bathroom. The safe is very secure and large. We were so surprised at what a fantastic room we had and how comfortable everything was. We will definitely come and stay here again. The location was also fabulous and close to everything. Only a short walk to fabulous choices of food and we saw a musical a couple of blocks down on the corner, about Live Aid, called Just for one Day. One of the best musicals we have seen. Go and see it if you’re there. It’s worth it.
There were ample appliances in the kitchenette to make our own food.
Everything was way beyond our expectations. I really like the idea of supporting a family owned business as well

We loved our stay here! Our rooms were a few buildings down from reception. Quiet, despite being in Bloomsbury. Close to tube station (Tottenham Court), British Museum and lots of restaurants and shopping! Breakfast was good, staff were very friendly. Our suite was large and had everything we needed! Beds were comfortable. Will stay again in London!

Good location but breakfast was disappointing

The location of the hotel meant that it was close to everything we needed to get to for our visit by foot.
The hotel is in an old building and because of this the layout is rather quirky. For example the reception is down a narrow set of stairs with a low ceiling, which I found to be a little bit of a struggle because I'm quite tall. Also our room was in a different part of the building which required us to go back outside and up the street a little, thankfully the ceiling on the stairs was a little higher here.

The room itself was fine but very dated. The photos on the listing seem to be of more modern looking rooms. That said it was clean and bigger than expected. The listing said their would be air conditioning in the room but that didn't seem to be the case, it had cooled do a little the day we arrived so in the end it wasn't a problem.

Breakfast had us go back into the main building where the reception is. I would say this was the most disappointing thing about our stay. Previous reviews pointed out the breakfast was excellent and it was one of the main reasons for selecting the hotel. However our experience wasn't like this. The eating area was very dated looking and the food quality and options wasn't great.

This hotel is in a fantastic location for a great price. The air con was wonderful, and was a huge selling point for us with the current hot summer temps.

The rooms are not big, but we weren't spending much time in there so that wasn't a problem. However, the shower is very tight, so be aware if that is important to you.

When we were there, there was work being done in the hallways that we weren't aware of. It was very dusty the first day, and then the work stopped the rest of our stay, so no dust/noise, but also just a messy area to go in and out of the building every day.

All in all though, the location and value made up for any concerns.

Hotel room did not appear as in the photo and was severely dated, with low quality bathroom and fit out.

Whilst the did change this after multiple requests the room was made up as a twin rather than a double.

Travel iron was in room, but no where to place it bar the floor

Breakfast had limited options if you did not want a fry up and was served in a basement beneath some very low ceiling steps. I had to take my case down the steps to check in so would not rate the accessibility for this hotel

The management and staff were all friendly, welcoming, helpful and hard-working. Although our top floor room was a bit worn in spots, the room was cleaned very well and had fresh towels every day (good exercise going up the stairs!).The breakfasts were tasty and substantial, so that we didn't have another full meal until dinner. The street was sometimes noisy at night (earplugs help), but the location is fantastic! It is an easy walk to so many sites, the West End theatres, and to train and tube stations. The Bloomsbury squares near the Morgan Hotel are amazing. If we came back to London, we would stay here again. We say a big thank you to the marvellous staff.

Check in was supposed to be at 2pm. We arrived early and our room wasn’t ready. We came back at 2 and the room was still not ready. We waited until 2:30 and still not ready. We left for some planned reservations and came back late. Our luggage stayed at the hotel in the breakfast area.
We finally got to the room which was in a 2nd building and upstairs. There are no elevators. It appeared someone had gone through our luggage because things were moved.

The room was spacious and clean.

Good location, comfortable clean bed. Narrow steep stairs, small room, small bathroom. Aircon in room 7 sounds like it has marbles in, not much sleep at all, couldn't turn aircon off as heater you could not control was on and could not open window. Breakfast on a Sunday finish’s at 9.30

The rooms are very small but that may be typical for London - I don’t know because I’ve always stayed at The Morgan when visiting London.

If you’re able to haul your luggage up some stairs, this is a modest but great base to explore London. Close to public transport. Made to order breakfast, all the way up to a full English if you want, is included. Shows its age a bit and bathroom is a bit small but it’s a good value.

It would have been excellent, but even though I explained repeatedly that I have celiac disease and MUST eat gluten free, at the first breakfast I was given regular bread. I was extremely sick for most of the rest of the day and we lost that time in London. BEWARE if you have celiac disease! They have gluten free bread, but ask to see it in the bag so you know what you are getting!

We were greeted and shown to our apartment by a friendly gentleman ( sorry forgot his name !) The apartment although a bit dated decor wise was clean comfortable very large , outside seating in a little courtyard . Everything was great , I couldn’t have asked for more . Breakfast was lovely , full english yum ! Staff were super friendly and accommodating, we could leave our luggage in storage whilst we went sightseeing , which was so much easier than lugging it around . I would highly recommend The Morgan Hotel . Location is ideal , the British museum is round the corner , tube station is 5 min walk away . I’ve stayed in London many times , and this by far , ( it is very quirky ) is perfect for 1/2 nights for the theatre etc . The only slight thing is that the hotel is located over several terrace houses , so we did have to walk out of our front door , walk along the street to the main part for breakfast ! Only about 10yards ! So no trek or anything like that !! Anyway I’ve booked again for December , let’s hope it lives up to my review again !!

Don't expect a big reception area and the breakfast is served in the basement area. If you can't walk steps with tight stairways or carry luggage it may not be a place for you. However if you like having a decent amount of space with a separate seating area, we also had a garden area it was nice. Good value for location but not overly fancy. Overall good.

Stayed in a room in the annexe. Nothing particularly awful or great. A little tatty around the edges, but in terms of cost versus finish, not a problem.

It was a single room (as booked) and small, but well appointed enough. Shower room under stairs, so kept bumping head - and I'm not tall! No lifts. Didn't have time for breakfast although menu looked substantial enough. Very very convenient for central amenities.

Nice hot shower with good water pressure, lots of tea/coffee selection. Very friendly staff showed me around on booking in, breakfast the next morning was included and very tasty. I'd not hesitate to recommend Morgan Hotel

Easy to walk to theatre and so many places to eat , not for people with mobility issues as a lot of stairs but breakfast was wonderful also tea and coffee in the room with comfy beds we will definitely stay here again

Amazing place

Great service, fantastic staff. Amazing breakfast. Perfect location. We had an apartment for 4 adults (family of 4) which was great the only thing we can complain about is the shower. It really is terrible and needs replacing. Other than that a perfect stay
