The staff were lovely and very helpful. The location is great but also very quiet. It is an older property with steep staircases which may not suit everyone. The shower was quite underpowered and the air conditioning is very noisy, but for one night neither were a big problem.

The room was charming and comfortable with a nice easy chair, desk and chair, good wardrobe and twin beds. The bathroom was stylish with a roomy shower and beautiful hand basin.
It is worth noting that there is no lift or food on offer but this was not a problem for us.
A very friendly and helpful place, wonderfully situated on a quiet street minutes away from the Royal opera house.

Great location. Quiet hotel. Friendly staff. Room was nice and clean but needed TLC/maintenance. A large part of the carpet had been cut up and patched and was fraying. There were screws and wall anchors in the wall with nothing in them. I thought of the place as neat and quirky. I would stay here again.

I’ve stayed here many times at this hotel and loved the location which can’t be beaten to be honest, and have never had an issue but my recent stay was not up the usual standard. I stayed in a quad room on the 1st floor. But the room has got rather disheveled . The carpets were stained and dirty looking the curtains had obviously been washed but not ironed and hid peeling paint work .However the main complaint is towards staff in the hotel 5/12/25. between 10.10-11 am
Room 10 knock on our door while packing, We were met with an accusatory attitude, from a staff member claiming we had set the fire alarm off — a completely baseless accusation. I should mention that no fire alarm was set off in the room , no appliances were on no smoking etc but accused we were of setting the fire alarm off . Next, one minute to check out as we were gathering our bags to leave another knock on the door a member off staff told us to leave as it’s check out . Really don’t need to be told especially as just minutes earlier the other member of staff would have see us nearly packed .Ive literally been to many hotel and never been asked to leave and check out .The attitude is totally unacceptable and I couldn’t wait to get out. This stay has completely changed my view of the hotel. Sadly, I will not be returning again ,and I would urge other travellers to think carefully before booking until improvements are made

I have never seen so rude people. I asked 15 minutes more for the check out because of the long vidéo call.
1/ had to négociate a lot for that!
2/ at 11:15, people going into my room, and get insulted by the réceptionnist.

And the room are very dirty.

A really great stay, and while the hotel is a little tired in places (curtains hanging off the runner in room 32) the bed was really comfy and clean, location was perfect and staff were all lovely….would stay again, just because of these things - was able to check in early and reception team were super helpful.

Initially we thought we had made a mistake. The hotel is very basic and a bit run down but the staff is very helpful and moved us to a larger room (our first was very small). Our room had the bed as you come in and bathroom and desk downstairs. It was a nice change and did us well for 4 of our 5 nights. The area around the hotel is convenient for everything. Lots of restaurants, stores, theaters and the opera house across the street. If you are looking for a pretty affordable hotel that isn’t very modern but in a great location, you will like the Fielding. Great spot to explore a beautiful area of London.

Pros-The location was very good. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. There were noisy people right above us so we complained. They handled the complaint and we did not have any more issues.
Cons- The Wifi was spotty. The sink did not drain well. The carpet in Room 10 where we stayed was stained all throughout the room. It was not pleasant. The walls were dirty.

Toilet was out of order which wasn’t a problem in itself but there were towels left on the floor where something was leaking and it smelled of urine! There was black mould on the ceiling and totally unsanitary, we blocked off the room but could still smell it through the night

I'm extremely disappointed with the condition of the room. There was debris on the pillow from the air conditioning, stains all over the walls, and the sink doesn't work at all. To make matters worse, there was dust everywhere, making the room feel dirty and neglected. This level of cleanliness and maintenance is unacceptable

If you are visiting with children - rethink. No heating too.

Location was great. In the heart of Covent garden on a no driving side street. Walkable to theatres, restaurants, open market, British museum.
Room was very small but clean. Our bathroom was private but around 12 stairs down within our room. Not sure if other rooms were like that.

Unfortunately, we were told that we would have to move to another room the next day. We did. The new room was in the basement, without windows. Simply not acceptable.

This hotel is ideally situated in the heart London minutes from the SOHO and convenient to the Covent Garden Underground - direct access to Heathrow. Sajaad (hotel manager) deserves mention as very welcoming, helpful in offering ideas on visiting the area, and all with an endearing professional courtesy. Great little boutique hotel!

The staff was super friendly and helpful. I really like that. The desk is manned 24 hours a day. They had great information about where to eat in the middle of the night and various things like that. It was very clean. My only criticism would be that it could use a lick of fresh paint, and the carpets are somewhat stained.

The property is well situated as it is close to many points of interest. The Covent Garden tube station is only two blocks away. The room was comfortable for our party of 4 and the kitchen is stocked for what we needed during our stay. However, the bathroom sorely needs updating. Overall, our stay was pleasant and satisfied with our stay at the Fielding Hotel.

The A/C unit was a bit noisy in our room but it made for good background noise to fall asleep to. This hotel is within easy walking distance to Covent Garden it’s on a quiet street. The staff were really helpful. The rooms were clean and a good size for central London. There is coffee and tea making facilities in the room but no restaurant for breakfast or dinner within the hotel but there is that much choice within the area you are spoilt for choice. Will definitely stay there again when I go to London again.

Excellent location but hotel feels grubby with stained carpets and chipped woodwork. Steep staircases so my bag was taken to room which was nice. However it all looks old and in desperate need of an update. Air conditioning wasn’t working (the tech came to the room while I was there and said he’d have to come back to fix it) and there was also a stand alone A/C machine in the room that just blew out warm air. Had to open window to the street to get some cooler air. The noise from both the outside and inside (door banging) meant I didn’t sleep much both nights. A shame as location so good.

Seeing some of the bad reviews, I nearly cancelled my booking. That would have been a mistake! While there are some rough edges, I'm so glad I stayed here! The location is PERFECT, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the room had all the basics.

True - there is no lift and the stairs are narrow... but I think that's fairly standard for London! There are some things that could use an update - but I found things clean and comfortable.

I'm glad I stayed here - and I would definitely go back!
