Really friendly staff and love how central this hotel is! Walkable to everything. One downside is the rooms are really in need of upgrade. The air flow is terrible and my shower in the “suite” only came up to my chin, I am a 5’7 woman so this is weird!

Staff were very friendly, must mention the doorman Anthony who was very helpful helping my husband up and down stairs at the front entrance, (husband suffers from dementia) and helping with luggage. Breakfast was plentiful.

Great location. Convenient access to three different underground stations. Right in the theater district, and close to covent garden, which was a cool place to grab a beer and watch some buskers. Walking distance to all the obvious tourist spots: West Minster Abbey, Big Ben, London Tower, etc. Right by the river. I would stay here again.

The hotel was located in a very central spot. I think for the price point it was an excellent hotel. The rooms were upgraded and not too small for European standard. My only complaint is that they had a yummy lemoncelo chocolate left in the room and I wanted a second piece! They refused. 😆

Travelled on my own to London and felt very safe and comfortable staying here. The hotel is very nice, close to local amenities and surprisingly quiet for being in the city. My room was so quiet, I couldn’t hear any traffic sounds.
Will definitely plan to stay again.

The room was super small even compared to other London hotels. I have probably stayed in London 50 different times in my life, so I know the city and its’ hotels well. The room was super cramped, and we didn’t have a fridge. We asked for one and to no avail. We arrived at 330pm, on a Saturday, and our room wasn’t ready until 400pm. Guest services was a joke. No one seemed to know much or care for that matter. The buffet breakfast could have been much better especially for the price. There should have been salmon and eggs cooked to order for omelets. The eggs were always cold. On a positive note, the shower was very nice and the room temperature was perfect. Loved the location and it was clean. We loved the idea of the uber call up stand, but it was broken the day that we had to fly out to Heathrow. Next time, we plan to stay at the Savoy across the street and try it instead. The price will probably be much higher, but we want a better overall experience.

The Strand Palace is at an awesome location for guests that plan on exploring the city. Also close to great food areas and in the middle of the Theater district.

Comfortable beds, clean restrooms and hot showers! The bar, breakfast area and attached restaurant are all very convenient.

I use this hotel frequently because if its convenient location, very pleasant staff and comfortable rooms.
On this occasion, I had a room near the lift and there was repeated noise from loud conversations and doors banging until 1.30 am, which is not ideal for an early start. Not the hotel's fault, however.

My daughter and I stayed for a week. The entire time we were there, the filter on the water dispenser was red. There was not a card read to get on to the elevator. I don’t know if that’s typically the case in England or not. There was a doorman but still, anyone can get on to the elevator. Room was a decent size for a city hotel but felt a little tired. We liked the location and our breakfast was included in our stay which was convenient. The hotel was adequate but I’d be inclined to consider other options if I were to return. I would stay again but I would strongly consider other places as well.

We stayed at The Strand Palace to see a show at the Savoy Theatre which was located only across the road and Charing Cross station is also close by. Our room was clean and spacious with comfy twin beds, The breakfast was good, a large selection of food and I liked the fact they had alternative milks available. On our check out day we were able to leave our luggage in a secure room so that we could explore more of London . All the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the hotel, Bami on reception, the breakfast staff, the staff who helped with our luggage, but a special mention has to go to Antony the doorman, a lovely friendly gentleman who went above and beyond to help guests. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

This is a very pleasant hotel. The check in process was very easy although they do require photo ID. They were able to check us in 90 minutes early too. The room was OK. It was a Superior Queen size and actually a lot smaller than I expected. There was also a cot and nappy bin which we hadn't requested so had to get this removed. The bed is very comfortable with good pillows and the room is well lit with plenty of power points. The shower is also good. Breakfast was first class. There are only three lifts so allow for a long wait when coming or going. Overall I would stay here again.

The property is in a great central location especially if you are seeing shows. The staff was friendly and helpful especially Sona in the restaurant and Mohammad in luggage storage. We had a few small issues with our stay. Our shower wouldn’t drain and kept overflowing into the bathroom. We told the front desk and they said they would fix it but it didn’t seem to help the problem much after they said it was fixed. Also we sent laundry out and instead of them delivering it to our room I had to go hunting for it at the front desk and bring it all back up to the room myself. Not a huge deal but for what we paid for the laundry I figured it would be delivered to our room. Lastly, the rooms are very tiny for what you pay. We stayed at many places along our 17 day journey around England and France and this room was by far the smallest. Overall, a clean property with a nice staff and good restaurant with a great location.

We had a triple room for 2 nights. Room was great and plenty large enough for 3 adults, with a kingside bed and a double sofa bed. All were very comfortable. Hotel had a nice atmosphere and staff were great. Special shout out to the lovely doorman who always greeted us with a friendly “good morning/afternoon while holding the door open.
Hotel is in a fabulous position right opposite the Savoy where we had afternoon tea. Covent Garden was a few minutes walk away and we also walked to Oxford Street, which took about 25 mins.

We enjoyed the option to save money with one of their smaller (well, tiny) rooms since we weren't planning to spend any time in them except to sleep. The hotel itself was convenient to everywhere we wanted to go -- within easy walking distance to the Palace Theatre and His Majesty's Theatre -- and for general exploring and pub hopping. We only had breakfast twice in their main restaurant, but ended up almost every night for a pint in their Joe Allen restaurant.

As a frequent solo traveler, my basic needs are good rest and safety, and to feel help only when I need it. The room was great, except the TV connection and coffee machine were both not working when I arrived (the tv was fixed, not the coffee machine). There were a couple strange incidents of hotel workers assuming I needed assistance when I did not, and in one embarrassing case a worker chased me down the hall to show me to the Ladies Room while I was walking directly and clearly to Joe Allen’s. I appreciated the environmental/sustainable efforts of the hotel. I am infuriated that the hotel (and seemingly most of London) refused to accept any cash at their restaurant or bar. Cash/pounds are LEGAL TENDER and if I wish to use it to pay in your establishment you should accept it.

Great location hotel, rooms are basic but got what you need for a short city break. If your thinking of upgrading I wouldn’t bother the difference in the rooms isn’t worth the extra cost.

The bathrooms are small but adequate, the only issue is the toilet is about 2 inches away from the wall which isn’t ideal for left handed guests (IYKYK)

The Hotel is on excellent position, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Buckingham palace, Westminster facilities are in a walking distance. Variety of restaurants are near buy ..the hotel is clean .and the staff are generally friendly and helpful, the restaurant staff are okay maybe the the Metre sitting people in the table at breakfasts need to be more helpful and more friendlier he made sit on tables not set up properly..in the 3 different occasions he made us set in a far corner table usually a cup or a spoon or something is missing for sure ...need to work on his attitude.
But Anthony the porter made it up for the entire staff tbh...what an excellent friendly helpful human been ..an absolute delight...
I felt so bad not leaving him a tip as I run out of cash...but for sure the next trip to London I will make up for him
Overall I will go back to Strand palace hotel for sure and I do recommend it to anyone going for a trip to London 😊

The location is excellent and convenient. The rooms leave a lot to be desired. The bathrooms are VERY small. There are no hooks anywhere for you to hang your towels; how are you supposed to “go green” when everything stays damp and gross? The shower floors need a good scrub and the carpets need shampooing. I can appreciate the “retro vibe” as the decor throughout the lobby, but the rooms need updating.

Reserved a single room which worked perfectly for one person with not too much luggage for a short stay. Room and bathroom are tiny but well designed and recently furnished. Window shutters work well to cut out light and noise. Appreciated the in-room water bottle, kettle and coffee/tea options. Staff were extremely helpful and central location is a huge bonus with easy access to several Tube stations.

This hotel is centrally located close to many of the main tourist attractions and the theatre district. All within walking distance.
Booked a Superior Single room. Room was a decent size and had the usual amenities, iron, coffee maker, etc. No fridge or microwave. The bed is comfortable and the linen is soft. Bathroom just had a shower, no tub and toiletries were supplied. There is no bathroom door. The rooms don't have a standard layout so you could be staring straight into the bathroom from your bed.
Finding your room was a challenge as the floors are a rabbit's warren of hallways and the room #s weren't laid out in a logical pattern. There is an digital sign at the elevator where you put in your room # and it shows you how to get to it.
Daily housekeeping is provided but if you opt not to have this, you get a coupon for £7 off the breakfast buffet. They will then only clean your room every 4 days.
The breakfast buffet has a good selection of hot and cold items. If paid the night before it's £15, otherwise it's £20 at the door.
Traveled to Edinburgh for a few days and was able to store my larger suitcase while I was away until I returned for my last nights in London.
I was very pleased with my stay and would book here again.
Would recommend.

Chose this hotel because it is centrally located in the city close to most of the main tourist attractions and the theatre district. All within easy walking distance.
Booked a Superior Single room and was pleased with the size of the room.Discovered that there is no set floor plan with these rooms when seeing my friend's room. Getting to the room was a challenge as the floors are like a rabbit's warren with multiple hallways and the numbering scheme has no logic to it. There is an electronic map at the elevator which shows where your room is and shows you how to get to it.
The room has the usual ammenities, iron, hair dryer, kettle, coffee maker, & safe. A complimentary re-usable water bottle was provided and each floor had water stations in the hallways and at the elevators.There is no bathroom door which depending on the room layout, could mean you were looking straight into it when you were in bed. Usual toiletries are also provided.
Daily housekeeping is provided but if you choose the \"green\" option, you were given a voucher for $7 off the breakfast buffet and your room would only be cleaned every 4 days.
The breakfast buffet available had a good variety of hot & cold items. If bought the night before it was $15 or $20 if paid at the door.
Checked out to take a short trip to Edinburgh and was able to store my large suitcase while I was away seeing as I was returning here for my last 2 nights in London before flying home.
Very pleased, would recommend.

A really nice place to stay. Dead opposite the Savoy, spot on for the theatres.
I would say sleep using the AC and not with the window open as it’s a busy area with plenty of traffic.
We had a great time, staff are friendly and breakfast was delicious.
Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely bed, clean room and really positive staff. However the maintenance of the hotel was lacking. Our TV was VERY wonky on the wall, sockets were damaged and “pushed back” into their face plates. Vending machines out of order. So so the good, silly things let it down. For the price point, won’t be staying again as there is better, but if location is important, it is a good hotel with excellent staff and service level.

The room was clean and freshly painted. It was VERY small. The lights were next to the room door for both the bedroom & bathroom. No switch in the bathroom. Also no outlet for a hairdryer in the bathroom.
Though we got off on an annoying foot when after a red eye flight, we arrived 20 minutes before check in and had to store our baggage, the rest of our stay was great! The staff were kind and helpful. Having a restaurant for a late night snack or drink on site was wonderful. The small bar also opened early with pastries & coffee. The restaurant offered a buffet breakfast that was ridiculously overpriced. Fortunately within a few steps of the hotel were several great breakfast options.
